WTVM-TV9 Online headline: "Community continues to voice concerns ahead of Columbus City Council" --  First, it's a limited amount of citizens that are outraged... Now, where was Reverend Flakes' outrage at the financial mishandling of the City's business departments? Where is Reverend Flakes'  outrage at the City cutting the City Manager's wife a SBA grant check that also benefits himself? Flakes is ..well .. such a flake...

Online headline: "Georgia House passes transgender sports bill" -- All right GA Senators, get this finished!

Update: The bill, SB1, is on the Governor’s Desk!

Online Courier News headline: "Letter to The Editor...The Need for True Representation in Columbus (GA) * Recent voting results continue to demonstrate that the majority of Columbus (GA) voters support Democratic candidates at the state and national levels. However, due to the nonpartisan nature of our local elections, our Columbus (GA) Council does not accurately reflect the political leanings of the electorate. * Instead, we have a council that leans Republican despite the community's voting trends. * Nonpartisan elections were intended to encourage fair and balanced representation, yet they have inadvertently allowed for a disproportionate political tilt that does not align with our voters." -- Hmmm... We should not be concerned of the political "leanings" of our elected  officials....we SHOULD be concerned with electing officials who are more concerned with Columbus GA's future growth than their political indoctrination.. I also would like to know if the "Letter Writer" wants us to believe that Columbus GA would be better under more Democrats than our nation has been during the periods that Democrats have had the triple-majority-control in Washington DC? Obviously, the "Letter Writer" would have liked four more years of border assault, crime waves, super inflation, and higher taxes...and poor education... which is pretty obvious she's a victim of...

Online headline: "LaGrange GA Man arrested after several hundred photos and videos of CSAM located on phone" -- What is the monster's citizenship status! Under current circumstances, this should be a primary question to reveal in such a story.

---

Online headline: "Transgender Georgians share their stories at Columbus, GA rally" -- Whoa!! Before we go any further, since it’s pushing a year on his charges, what's the current status of former Colgay President Jeremy Hobb's criminal cases?

---

Hmmm… today is “April Fools Day”… guess there’ll be plenty signed up for Columbus, GA’s next Council meeting…

---

Online headline: "Justice Department instructed to dismiss legal challenge to Georgia election law" --  You know, the best way in GA to curtail fraudulent voting would be to shorten the "early voting" time....a week is certainly adequate time for voters to find time to cast their votes.

---

Online headline: "Judge Blocks Trump effort to curtail deportation protections of 600,000 Venezuelans" -- Good grief! There are more non-US-citizen Venezuelans in the US now than there are American citizens in Socialist Senator Bernie's state of Vermont..

Forwarded e-mail a BCer sent me... but since I’m a Columbus GA citizen,, and Library Card holder and previous donor,  I want to know why I didn't receive one for myself: "Libraries change lives!  Every day, Chattahoochee Valley Libraries provide more than books—we offer opportunity, connection, and hope. But now, our essential services are at risk.A recent executive order proposes eliminating the Institute of Museum & Library Services (IMLS), a critical source of federal funding for public libraries. Without this support, we could lose: Reliable internet access for thousands—leaving us with a $100,000+ budget shortfall we cannot absorb." --- So DOGE is suspending cash disbursements to federal programs.. maybe they'll resume but perhaps not..... So, if the Library feels it will come up short, why not re-initiate collecting  overdue book fines, and costs for lost/unreturned volumes?

Learned something new yesterday.. new...and unexpected...Most of you have seen some Auburn basketball players holding their hands up mimicking a "call me" meme.. but that's not what you were seeing... That's an Auburn code the players use to that unify them when the team does things together so their signal is to "Call on God"! Coach Pearl has prayer groups, and has taken his teams to Israel.. a couple of times, and they've had baptisms in the Jordan River.  It's not ALL about basketball for Coach Pearl...

Online headline/story: "EPA shuttering museum that cost $315 per visitor to stay open — with barely anyone showing up * The museum is located on the ground floor of the environmental agency, but recorded very little foot traffic, despite its prime location just a block north of the Smithsonian’s Natural History and American History museums on the National Mall. * The scarcely visited museum cost a whopping $4 million taxpayer dollars to build in accordance with Smithsonian standards and more than $600,000 annually to operate,” an EPA official said. * It had less than 2,000 external visitors between May 2024-February 2025 and while the museum was free, the cost to taxpayers per external visitor amounted to nearly $315 per person.” -- Aren't we glad President Trump has DOGE! Maybe Algore, Leo D, Kerry, and Greta will lead a fundraiser ... or simply redirect their donations that allow them to jet around by private air craft to EPA cocktail events.. Of… and let $315.00 A  Person be the ticket prices!

Online headline: "Newly Released JFK Files Reveal That KGB Thought Lee Harvey Oswald Was ‘A Poor Shot’ Who Couldn’t Be Controlled By Anyone *  A CIA document offered some insight into Oswald’s time in the USSR. After the fall of the Soviet Union, an American professor interviewed a KGB contact named Nikonov. *  “Nikonov personally reviewed KGB files to determine if Lee Harvey [Oswald] had been a KGB agent. He reviewed five thick volumes of files on Oswald,” the memo read." -- Accumulating 5 "thick" files on Oswald sorta undermines the Russian stance that Oswald wasn't much of an interest to the KGB.... If you've ever taken the "Dealy Plaza Tour", you'll note that Oswald's best sight-line was when the limo was slowing to take the left turn onto the expressway.. yet "Oswald" didn't shoot until the Kennedy limo was moving away hundreds of yards further away.

Online story: "The statute of limitations for COVID-19 relief crimes expired March 27. Anyone who stole funds and hasn't been charged will now go unpunished. * The Government Accountability Office estimates fraudsters stole between $100 billion and $135 billion. * The Department of Labor said only $5 billion has been recovered." -- Good grief... Biden musta signed that bill knowing there was such a statute of Limitations for prosecutions should he not get re-elected... Wonder if he got his usually "Big Guy 10%"?
