It's disgusting! Disgusting that a Texas murderer's family could get an an online "crowd funding site" that people would send them unfettered funds of over $430,000.00 to spend on a lavish lifestyle "bump"! There's an old adage that said, "Crime doesn't pay.", but obviously "slimeballs DO!"

Haven't heard whether any of our Columbus GA Councilors or School Board Members have driven out to the intersection of Double Churches & Whitesville Roads and actually seen the site where a Round-A-Bout is being planned... if they haven't, they have no idea of the issues and problems that will be created by the needs of the current businesses occupying the 4 existing corner lots, and then you have to add in how much of an issue long school buses (there are two schools located there that will be a contributing factor), and long commercial trucks will cause. Just like the "original” Bradley Park/River Road Round-A-Bout plans being totally inadequate  (versus currently just partially inadequate), a standard Round-A-Bout at Double Churches & Whiteville Roads  will create more problems than imagined.

Speaking of the above "Round-A-Bout" area, as I drove back down Whitesville Road towards Double Churches, I noticed a legal issue with the existing Speed Limit situation at Double Churches Middle School.. about 30-to-50 yards short of the posted School Zone "blinking lights", there's a "normal" speed limit sign showing "40 MPH",  then the School Zone posting of  "25 MPH". Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that posted school zone speed limits can only be 10 Miles Per Hour slower than the NORMAL posted speed limit..

Historic Golden Park was originally established in 1926, and Ty Cobb RETIRED from Major League Baseball in 1928...Cobb and my grandfather were friends as well as baseball opponents in the very early years of the 20th Century, and remained friends until Cobb's death in 1961... I met Cobb in 1954 or 55 at my grandfather's home.
