Hmmm…was reading an interview about qualifying fees to run to be te Mayor of Columbus GA, and found a curious statement.. It said that the qualifying fee was $1,950.00 .. 3% of the annual salary… A quick compute of those “facts” puts the Mayor of Columbus, GA’s salary at $65,000.00…. somehow, that didn’t jive with my memory… so I looked it up.. sure enough, in a Columbus L-E story on January 2, 2025, Mayor Skippy the POO’s salary is noted at $82, 911.00. Seems to me that 3% of $82,911.00 is around $2,487.00… Maybe all those candidates need to “pony up” another $537.00… and while she’s at it, all he qualifying fees posted need to be re-verified that hey were calculated on current salaries…

GOOD GRIEF! GA DOT is going to build  26 EV charging stations across GA at a cost of $24.4 Million tax dollars. That's over $900,000..00 EACH Station.. We can already see where/how GA Power is going to benefit, but  what entity is going to collect all the charges to use them? All GA Dot executives and District Board members need to be audited for benefits they receive for approving this arrangement.

My bride went into a nearby Dollar Tree store here in Columbus, GA and was met with a sign that read, "Coin shortage. Exact change or card only.", and  this was not one of those self-serve check-outs. All my America. Cash reads, "This note is legal tender for all debts, public ad private".. I prefer cash, and if a merchant doesn't accept what I prefer, then I will find a merchant that does. Oh, and for those merchants, especially restaurants, if you "try" to add a "convenience fee" for using a debit card (if I prefer at the moment), I may never be back.

How about a law that that makes the General Contractor fully liable for any damages found later  hidden by wallboard,  subflooring, and inferior construction material or construction methods (our doors were installed with "foam" but no screws/nails)... a law that can remove the Contractor's license and permits until fully corrected.
