From the "here we go again" department - Online headline: "Insurers warn Obamacare is unsustainable, expect premiums to rise again" -- and the only way to fix it is to keep Hillary or Bernie out of the White House. It is pretty much assured that without term limits, we will never see enough Republicans in both Chambers to override a Democrat President's veto.

---
Hillary's excuse for not releasing her Goldman Sachs speeches was that she'd do it when 'every body else' does so...when did Bernie ever give Goldman Sachs a speech..in fact when was Bernie ever invited. Now to me, Hillary could have demonstrated leadership by releasing them.

---
I'm still mystified as to why the RNC would want to derail a candidate who has captured ...bridled.. tapped into the frustration of the non-liberal voting element. Trump has generated excitment that has been missing since Reagan served, and if the RNC cannot accept this, the RNC will be irrelevant in getting a Republican back into the White House.

---
Online headline: "North Korean birthday missile a dud" -- How appropriate...the chain.of N. Korean leadership is also a dud.

---
Trump has been getting accolades for standing up for his maligned staff member...don't think our allies aren't paying attention...for 7+ years they have walked around looking over their shoulder to see if ZERO-bama was behind them holding a knife.

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "I saw scenes from a Trump rally. I'm sad the thought processes of so many Americans are governed by emotion rather than intelligence and depth of thought." -- Good grief..this LIV can say this about a Trump rally yet not in a Hillary or Bernie rally/debate when all they do is create emotional frenzies about how much free stuff they can promise?

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff" : " If Obama could write everybody’s debt clean and give everyone $500,000, Republicans would vote against it." -- Good grief.. Common CRAP Math rears its ugly head again.. Why hasn't the MCSDD revoked this person diploma and recalled them for a "re-do"? While  it's not that ZERO-bama wouldn't promise that to get re-elected for a 3rd Term if he could, by the time he did so, he'd have added $150 TRILLION more to the National Debt!

---
Leonard Pitts' submitted L-E "soundoff": "   Leonard Pitts’ column on Sunday was the best and most sensible that he’s written." -- Good grief.. this might have happen if Pitts had hired a talented and balanced "ghostwriter" but Pitts may be the only person who still reads his columns. It's obvious that no one at the L-E proof reads the content for pertinence, relevance, or intelligence.

---
I'm still leery at the goal of Together 2016...it presents itself as "unity", but I see no direction.. newspaper ads have flooded us with images that are far from widespread diversity ... there are only a few members who are business owners in the private sector, and representatives from the government/tax funded or controlled sector do not understand charity begins in one's own pocket.

---
How come the DNC is so concerned with Bernie filling in his plans, yet accepts perpetual liar Hillary's plans as gospel?

---

L-E story: " President Barack Obama on Friday announced his support for opening the market for cable set-top boxes, singling out the devices in millions of homes as a clunky and outdated symbol of corporate power over consumers as he introduced a broad federal effort to increase competition." -- Now this is something I can support, but you have to wonder why ZERO-bama can "see" this , yet not "see" government entitlement programs and mandatory OObamaCRAP Insurance are just as outdated power over consumers?

From the "wish I'd been there" department: Remember when the visiting team team's cheerleaders "perted out" to center court at the halftime of the season's biggest rivalry game.. and the students all picked up newspapers and  looked oblivious to their presence? That basically  what happened describes last night at a GOP Gala fundraiser in NYC when Cruz took the speaker's stand...It's hard to rebound when you've criticized a state's "values".

---
Online story: ""In the Democratic Party debate last night, Hillary said, "Sen. Sanders did call me unqualified," Clinton quipped during her opening statement. "I've been called a lot of things in my life -- that was a first." -- Hmmm..."that was a first"? Told you she doesn't listen to the people,, that's been said for over nearly 25 years from conservatives across the country.

---
Online headline: "Sanders calls out Clinton for using 'racist term'" -- Told you the libs and mainscream media have been ignoring Hillary for theses nearly 25 past years. "We" have known this FOREVER!

---
Online headline: "Manson 'family' member recommended for parole in California" -- Good grief.. maybe we should get Trump to promise to build us a wall between California and the other 47 mainland states!

---
Online story: "Illinois motorists may soon be the victims of their own good behavior. Drivers in the Land of Lincoln have been improving their fuel efficiency and driving more hybrid and electric cars that lessen their reliance on gasoline. As a result, the state revenue from gasoline tax is falling. *  One prominent state senator proposes scrapping a tax on gas for state residents and replacing it by taxing drivers based on the distance they drive." -- "scrap the gasoline tax"? Good grief.. taxing  by the mile driven will make "working" more of a burden, but eliminating the gasoline tax would mean that all vacationers/or neighboring state's drivers would not be "helping" when they buy cheaper gas in Illinois. WE just cannot put revenue decisions in the hands of Democrats and survive as a country.. Hasn't the National Debt nearly doubling in the last 7 years proved this?

---
Online story: "A Connecticut judge on Thursday rejected a motion to dismiss a lawsuit against the maker of a gun used in a 2012 elementary school shooting that killed 20 children and 6 adults, the Hartford Courant reports. * Under the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA), gun-makers are not liable for crimes committed with their products. * Judge Barbara Bellis ruled that law wasn't enough to have the case thrown out right now at this early stage, according to the Courant." -- Good grief.. it's a disaster when a company can get sued because its product works ..and is  defect free! Our court system needs to be purged of judges such as Ms. Bellis.. her disregard for common sense encourages lawyers to waste our time and money on frivolous lawsuits.

---
I'm tired of Muslims being offended by our customs and ways...it's not like any Muslim in a middle-east country would change from sharia law if we didn't like it.

---
Online story: "Chicago has an “assault weapons” ban, a “violence tax,” burdensome laws on handgun ownership and possession–and 862 shooting victims between January 1 and April 14 of this year." -- Actually, a website that keeps up with the Chicago violence scene every day has the :total shootings" at 928, but even more revealing is that only 4 of those shootings have been by police officers doing their duty. In traditional NASA speak, "America, Chicago has a problem".

---
From the "egg on the faces of Democrats and Columbus L-E" department:- L-E headline/story: "REPORT: CHICAGO POLICE HAVE ‘NO REGARD' FOR MINORITY LIVES *    Police in Chicago have “no regard for the sanctity of life when it comes to people of color” and have alienated blacks and Hispanics for decades by using excessive force and honoring a code of silence, a task force declared Wednesday in a report that seeks sweeping changes to the nation’s third-largest police force. * The panel, established by Mayor Rahm Emanuel late last year in response to an outcry over police shootings, found that the department does little to weed out problem officers and routine encounters unnecessarily turn deadly" -- Good grief.. just look at the item above.. over 900 shooting in Chicago this year and only 4 involved policemen protecting nonviolent Chicagoans and themselves. Of course, "the panel" as assembled .. and directed.. by former ZERO-bama Cheif-of-Staff, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and compoised of liberals.

---
Did you notice that at the Masters, you didn't see a sea of hands in the air using cellphones? It was by design.. people were warned to leave them in their cars, and metal detectors at the gates backed up this policy. Did it take anything away from the tournament? No.. and it proved that when you have a superior product people want, then they will comply with rules, even temporary discomfort, to participate. Compare this to public school policies where kids are using their cell phones in classrooms at will. No wonder students are failing.. the schools have not made their product attractive enough to get students willing to comply with disciplines needed to learn.

---
Online story: "A year ago, 11 former Atlanta teachers and school administrators were sentenced to prison, home confinement or jail after a historic test-cheating trial, yet many already are eligible to resume their careers." -- Good grief.. the APS will probably have some sort of "welcome back" celebrations so it can pedestalize  these "role models" to current and future system cheaters!

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Imagine a congressman sponsoring a bill stating that if African-American lifestyles are against someone's beliefs they can refuse to serve African-Americans." -- Good grief.. not one verse in the Bible denounces the African-American lifestyle so what would be the basis?

---

L-E story: " Columbus Councilor Pops Barnes, a vocal (man is he vocal!) supporter of the Columbus Aquatics Center and City Manager Isaiah Hugley swapped words Tuesday morning as council was debating the proper role of a citizens advisory commission in running the facility. * Barnes obviously thought the administration wasn’t willing to seek sufficient input from private citizens on the commission of hiring the proper person or company to run the place.  *  “I think more attention needs to be brought to what they are telling us,” Barnes said. “Mr. city manager, that’s common sense. And I think that you, Dr. (James) Worsley (parks and rec director) and anyone else in this government who will not take the advice and direction of individuals involved in this are being foolish. I’m getting tired of this whole situation.” - Having had recent dealings with Dr. Worsley, I find the man quite refreshing in his ethics and concern for running the Aquatic Center efficiently.. Dr Worsley stated in the beginning that running it like the Council wanted would be an economic disaster of the City.. Tell you what Pop Barnes,, you get the citizens you feel should have input to pay sufficient fees to justify keeping the natatorium open, and maybe the rest of Columbus will listen.

Online headline: " Trump campaign manager will not be prosecuted on battery charge" -- Remember this? Well... finally.. a little bit of sanity and reality. It involved a reporter who the Secret Service agents assigned to Trump let get too close to begin with and actually touch Trump, and she was the one that should have been charged with assault.

---
That Canadian, Bryan Adams (_*_) who canceled his concert in Mississippi because of a bathroom issue...yeah, that one. You know he played in Egypt where being gay is ILLEGAL!

---
From the "where's Hillary when she's right" department. I went to River Road Pharmacy's neighborhood Post Office to buy a couple of books of stamps They were out. They had a memo from the PO saying no more would be shipped until after the price cut was completed (Sunday). Huh? They are "FOREVER" stamps and have no prices on them! What Difference Does It Make!!!!!

---
Online headline/story: "Several high-profile Republicans might skip GOP National Convention *  Both former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte told the outlet they do not intend to attend the convention in Cleveland." -- OK.. who? Seems the primaries pretty much dismissed Bush and Ayotte as "high-profile in the future.

---
From the "one bad Apple can spoil the whole barrel" department - Online story: " the Israeli digital forensics firm Cellebrite was not, as widely suspected, involved in the cracking of the phone. Instead, the FBI seems to have turned to what some call “gray-hat” hackers, who find vulnerabilities and sell them for exploitation by the authorities. * The FBI previously went to court to force Apple to help it bypass the security features of the device by creating a special version of the iPhone firmware. The resulting standoff caused an international debate, but the FBI dropped its case after finding another way into the device. * The agency said last week that the technique used in this case was specific to the iPhone 5c running iOS version 9, meaning it cannot be used to access the vast majority of Apple’s smartphones." ,   -- Now all Apple  and its user base, have to worry about is more hackers seeing the challenge .notoriety, and publicity.. oh .. and MONEY that will be dangled in their faces for hacking the 6 series and beyond.. Apple should have patriotically participated!

---
L-E story: " After burning through millions of dollars in a mostly failed attempt to sway Republican primary voters, big-money outside groups opposing Donald Trump have turned to a far smaller target audience: the delegates who will actually choose the presidential nominee. *  Our Principles, which is devoted to keeping Trump from winning, and super PACs backing Ted Cruz and John Kasich are spending their time and money researching the complex process of delegate selection and reaching out to those party insiders. *  Compared to earlier primary states like Florida, there have been few ads by outside groups on the air in New York, which holds its election Tuesday." -- "Our Principles"? it sort of bothers me that a group dedicated to its own principles would call itself "Our Principles".. but what's the most upsetting aspect of the primaries is how mainscream media ignores the travesty of how the Democratic Party  neuters its voters by the purported "super delegates" who vote based on what the DNC dictates versus what Democrat Party voters want.

---
L-E headline: "Fundraising efforts to decide if shuttle is horizontal or vertical" -- You know, it seems to me that whichever display position allows the public to better enjoy it should be the determining factor.. To me, I'd have a hard time looking upward at a 5-story object. Though it is unstated in this story, if it is to be enjoyed by people actually getting to walk through it, then it's a no-brainer to display it horizontally as well.

---
On above item: After looking at concept pictures of the "vertical" display option, its apparent that the A.D.A. lobbyist would be on this life a yellow jacket swarm, and by time approved ramps and elevators were added, there's not enough space on the grounds to accommodate such configuration...
---
L-E headline malfunction: "House Speaker Ryan set to blow budget deadline" -- Hmmm .. how come I feel there's am extra word added on to this headline.. it seems "House Speaker Ryan set to blow budget" is more realistic.

---
From the "enigmatic liberal logic (a.k.a. "Fantasy World)"  department --- L-E story: "Carnival Corp.’s maiden voyage to Cuba next month will be filled with almost 700 cruisers looking to spend time assisting in economic, environmental and community development there. The one thing the boat won’t be carrying, however, is any Cubans. * Raul Castro’s government prohibits native-born Cubans from returning by sea, and makes other forms of travel difficult for them as well, a remnant of discord that remains unaltered by President Barack Obama’s recent visit. Into the middle of this now comes the U.S. cruise industry. * Faced with the choice of waiting for Castro to lift the prohibition or gaining access to Cuba immediately, companies such as Carnival have chosen the latter. The argument is that engagement may help facilitate change — but not everyone is happy with that calculus. *  “Something precious is lost when a foreign government dictates what kinds of U.S. citizens can sail out of the Port of Miami,” Miami Herald columnist Fabiola Santiago, who is Cuban-American, wrote after she was denied a ticket for Carnival’s new Fathom cruise to Cuba." --  "Castro’s government prohibits native-born Cubans from returning by sea, and makes other forms of travel difficult for them as well"? Good grief.. Cuba feels more threatened by ex-patriots than ZERO-bama...probably because the ex-patriots aren't communist oriented like ZERO-bama.

---

L-E headline: "Women-only car services fill a niche, but are they legal? * Massachusetts company to launch service featuring female drivers picking up only women and children Owners believe service protects fundamental liberties" -- "are they legal"? Of course not! ..but, if women use them exclusively, no men will file a suit! Now, Can we get our all male sports bars and bathrooms back?

Wednesday, April 13, 2016

Online story: "Crews on Tuesday are working to repair the outdoor basketball courts at Linda Esperanza Marquez High School in Huntington Park after the ground buckled. *  The water collection area was created under the courts as part of a construction project at the school three years ago, according to LAUSD Chief Facility Executive Mark Hovatter." -- Good grief... our MCSD just bought overpaid for a house next to Columbus High School next to the school's water collection area and are planning to pave over both for parking. Can't you see this same thing happening?

--------------------------------------
From the "hypocrisy personified" department: Cruz seems to denigrate businessman Trump for having given donations to Democrats and Republicans, yet Cruz accepts donations from people who have given money to him and Democrats.

---
Online story: "CNN anchor Anderson Cooper repeatedly pressed Donald Trump on Tuesday about how GOP rival Ted Cruz had managed to crush him in Colorado. *  The bottom line is the rules are the rules. Didn't you just get outplayed on the ground?" Cooper asked the Republican presidential frontrunner during a CNN town-hall event." -- Cruz didn't "outplay" Trump.. the RNC/GOP leadership orchestrated this maneuver. Seems the DNC and the RNC both want Trump NOT to run for president.. but their reasoning is different.. the Democrats KNOW he will beat Hillary and the excited voters may elect enough Republican to control the Senate, and the RNC doesn't want him to run because it will upset the existing hierarchy within the leadership. Do I need to remind you that while there's not much we can do about the DNC liberal leanings,  upsetting the Republican Party hierarchy is a PLUS for the America we love!

---
From the "liberals have such 'good intentions' that won't ever work" department - Online story: "Bono (yeah.. that one), who co-founded the international advocacy group ONE, has lobbied in world capitals for causes including debt relief, alleviating poverty and fighting AIDS.   * He offered one novel suggestion for countering extremism. * "Don't laugh," Bono said, suggesting that the Senate "send in" comedians Amy Schumer, Chris Rock and Sacha Baron Cohen to counteract the militants' violent message. * "If you laugh at them when they're goose-stepping down the street, then it takes away their power," he said." -- ZERO-bama's "advisory" sources are like his presidency.. a "joke". Now that's something we have to laugh at because otherwise we'd be crying.  Wanna bet that Kerry will go to the middle-east and pass the message on to Christians that they should "laugh en masse" at ISIS when they are lined up for multiple beheadings.

---
From the "suspicions confirmed" department: A list of the "15 Worst Cities to Live In If You Want to Save Money" is out.. 13 of them are in California (NYC and Miami complete the list). California, of course, send the largest delegation of Congresspersons to Washington to control Congressional overspending.. There's gotta be a joke in here somewhere.... you know, maybe it's just time for the other 49 states to secede from California.

---
There's also a list of the 100 largest cities ranked best-to-worst.. Now here's something Mayor TomLYINGson can gloat about.. Columbus did not make the list.. Of course, it's basically caused by Columbus losing enough citizens (we were number 111 two years ago, but probably are closer to 120 now) under her rule that we aren't large enough, now, to be considered.

---
Online headline: "Man sues gun sellers over weapons used in 2014 shootings at Kansas Jewish sites" -- Hmmm.. on what grounds.. that the federal government's data base the sellers have to use are defective?

---
You know... Congressional pensions need to be looked at.. a good place to start would be a comparison of each Congressperson's "net worth" accumulated after his/her first election... those who have become millionaires, or increased their net worth by a million dollars while in office should have to forfeit their Congressional pensions. ... oh, and any "campaign chest" funds left over should go to the state governments they are from.

---
Online story: "Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) is supporting Bernie Sanders for president, he said in a blog post on Wednesday.  * “Hillary Clinton has a remarkable record. She would be a strong and capable president,” Merkley said. “But Bernie Sanders is boldly and fiercely addressing the biggest challenges facing our country." -- "Bernie Sanders is boldly and fiercely addressing the biggest challenges"? What .. to find away to expedite and complete the bankruptcy plan of ZERO-bama?

---
From above story: "“Having somebody who is identified more as a socialist in many decades of public service than as a Democrat makes it impossible for Democrats in a state like Missouri,” Sen. Claire McCaskill (Mo.) said. " -- Good grief.. the only "state" McCaskill represents is the "state of Denial"! Even Hillary cannot.. well, will not, differentiate the differences between Socialism and the DNC platform.

---
I'm about to say something that will cause you consternation... or worse.. if you have a eak stomach for politics, I suggest you stop reading this right now and skip to the next item..
..
..
..
OK.. you know, if the way the RNC/GOP leadership manner of the RNC/GOP's  fair play within its primary process is an indicator of its policy of working for Congressional unity, then I can almost see why ZERO-bama doesn't want to work with them..Go TRUMP!

---
Online headline: "Author claims Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton can't stand each other" --Hmmm.. another Clinton ploy to make her seem more in tune with Democrta voters?

---
A Congressman says that the Kurdish fighters are using 40 year old weapons trying to stop ISIS suicide vehicles. Hmmmmm..why didn't ZERO-bama just leave those weapons to the Kurdish fighters versus giving them to untrained Iraqi soldiers which basically abandoned them to the advancing ISIS terrorists.

---
Hillary says that, "If toy companies are held accountable for endangering our kids, gun makers should be too. Let's end their immunity." -- Hmmm ...Good grief.. claims against toy manufacturers are based on product defect, not owner/user defects!

---
L-E headline/story: " Jury finds Reginald Jackson not guilty in 2013 homicide" *  After four hours’ deliberation, the jury in the murder trial of Reginald Jackson found him not guilty on all charges Tuesday in the 2013 fatal shooting of Dior Cheney. *  Jackson, 25, who has been jailed since his arrest in April 2014, was to be released Tuesday afternoon, as defense attorney Melvin Cooper asked the prosecution to file any documents necessary for the jail to let him go. *   The jury foreman afterward declined to comment on the deliberations, but the prosecution’s case clearly was torpedoed by the shooting’s only witness, Travis Porter, who under oath said he lied in 2013 when he told police Jackson was the gunman who wounded him three times and killed Cheney in a barrage of gunfire on Oct. 29, 2013." -- Well, you cannot blame the jury for the verdict. but you can blame them for not recommending that Travis Pi=oryer be assigned to live with Reiginald Porter for the rest of his short life to come. Now, it the DA's office doesn't go after Porter with everything its got, then there will never rest again in crime-ridden black neighborhoods! Oh.. and 911 needs to put a "block" on all of  Porter's phone numbers...none of our police officers should be required to put their lives on the line .. again.. to save his sorry (_*_)!

---
"Sound Off" alert! " Leonard Pitts’ column on Sunday was the best and most sensible that he’s written.".. There has be some standard at the L-E..Leonard "the" Pitt should not be able to plug his own drivel..

---
L-E headline/story: "Auditor recommends $5 garbage fee hike To pay for replacing ancient fleet *  Tomlinson says it won’t be in her budget * A combination of a $5 increase in the city garbage fee and savings from reduced maintenance and repairs would be almost enough to fund replacing the city’s aging solid waste collection truck fleet," -- Hmmm.. let's look at this.. if the savings plus a $5.00 fee hike (one year of "fee hike" would generate $3,300,000.00) would do all this, then lets have a 1-year ONLY fee hike, and then the "$500K savings" promised by Mayor TomLYINGson (like we can believe her) should pay for proper maintenance of our garbage truck fleet FOREVER. All you homeowners must realize that you are not getting to deduct these garbage fees on your taxes as they aren't considered a property tax which IS a deduction.

---
L-E headline: "Hugley taps choices for codes, finance departments" -- You know, when a new financial director is named, and before it is confirmed, whether promoted or hired from outside, there should be a complete outside forensic audit made of the City finances. This will prevent a newcomer from being blamed for what could be irregularities left by the predecessor.

Tuesday, April 12, 2016

Trump..even Cruz in the early goings, and Bernie all have legitimate complaints against their respective "Committees". You know, it would seem that the Parties' Committees would want to equally help all its candidates to get ready for the general election. Otherwise, just skip the primary formalities and just pick their  "good old boy/girl".

---
Online headline: "Joe Biden: 'I would like to see a woman elected'  _- Good grief.. the present president is more of a woman than Hillary.

---
Biden's "endorsement" is pathetic.. If he wants to vote for Hillary, then he should say he supports Hillary and her gender doesn't matter (it doesn't.. it's her ideology that matters). Now you have to assume if he voted for ZERO-bama because of the color of his skin rather than the content of his character..Hmmm.. Biden is a genderist and a racist as well as an agenda-ist.

---
ZERO-bama said he went to the Cuban baseball game following the Brussels terrorist attack to show them that nothing bothers his resolve to hunt them down. Hmmmm..I'm sure that was what ISIS thought when ZERO-bama refused to cross the "red line" he drew in the sands of Syria et al.

---
What's with Kasich saying he's staying in to Cleveland, because he's the only one who can beat Hillary..Hell, he couldn't get 50% of the Republican voters in his home state in its primary when the RNC was trying to get all Republicans to basically vote against Trump.

---
Tell you what...if I'm out with my bride, or daughters or granddaughter, and one needs to use a public bathroom, I'm positioning myself close enough to watch who tries to go in while any of them 'are going", and if I see a male looking like he wants to go in there, all hell will break loose.

---
Good grief.. there's a request before Council to purchase 50 Tasers  (with accessories) for better than $1,000.00 EACH! Purportedly  because it's "an option that could prevent the necessity for "deadly force", thereby preventing serious injury to an officer or "citizen" taken into custody".  What BS! .. A Glock .45 cal pistol can be bought for about half of that (and the police already have plenty). Instead of spending $53,000, make up a few PSAs and have the local broadcast media pipe those into their ad mix.. for free, I might ad, saying that the need for "deadly force" will be eliminated if criminals just "stop" when a police officer yells. "stop", "cease" "freeze" or any other order when affronted. If they don't, then the police will shoot. That's more than enough warning!

---
Now that  Mayor Tomlinson has reduced our fund balance to less than 30 days, she wants to issue $57,855,000.00 in Water and Sewage Revenue Bonds.. Well, that some what appropriate since by spending our fund balance below the 30-day mark, she's pretty much sent our bond ratings into the sewer.

---
Why does the Council want new Electronic Validating Fare boxes that cost $13789.00 each (with freight)? Even Hillary cannot handle a swipe card reader. Oh, for $1,350.00 dollars per unit freight cost, wouldn't it be cheaper.. and probably quicker,  to dispatch a van abd driver to the factory and pick those three fare boxes up?

---
From the "may be only a rumor.. but pretty much confirms the RNC would dump Cruz at the convention if..if Trump can be stopped" department - AOL News story:  "House Speaker Paul Ryan has been repeatedly denying that he's interested in running for president, but his actions still have many insiders spreading rumors that he's secretly considering it. * On Monday, the Observer reported Ryan will attend a "secret meeting" with "GOP money men" in New York City next week. * The meeting, which will reportedly take place at the Mandarin Hotel, "will be comprised of a discussion with 'twenty or so' Republican donors.""
-- You know...Cruz is delusional if he continues to think that the RNC/GOP leadership is going to support him (versus that constant image of a "fresh f that might create the "brokeredace" that's thrown out). In the beginning, Cruz was detested as much as Trump still is, but the RNC has no other current candidate it can support that can create a "brokered" convention.  If the RNC truly supported Cruz, that's who the RNC would be fully supportive ... yet this gets me back to the first item in today's blog... the RNC/GOP should "just skip the primary formalities and just pick their  "good old boy/girl".

---
Online headline: "Hillary Clinton tears into Bernie Sanders for not stepping up on gun control" -- Hmmm... no wonder Hillary couldn't define the difference between a Democrat and a Socialist.. she's neither.. she's basically a COMMUNIST!

---
In a local election for the Clerk of Superior Court, Ann Hardman, the challenger to the incumbent, has some serious qualification questions that need answering.. possibly to the Board of Elections.. her qualifying address lists another Columbus family as the owners of a Homestead exempted residence and her "Ministries" address is another person's Homestead exempted home. Both are in "nice" neighborhoods.. In addition, her website for one of her ministries gives you an "error" message - "The Web server is configured to not list the contents of this directory". Check it out... seems rather conspicuous fora site of the "spirit" to be less than "transparent"   http://www.faithworship.net/

---
Online headline: "Ford's new feature for cop cars is pretty stealthy  *  Ford Motor Co. recently debuted its new factory-installed "no profile" light bar. The bar is installed in the visor of the vehicle and, when activated, flashes red and blue light through the top of the windshield." -- You know.. I miss the older obvious light bars on police vehicles.. seems to me that motorists seeing such equipped vehicle tend to drive safer, so why would a police car be better if it's intended to catch one speeder by "camouflage" versus slowing down 1000s of vehicles by being obvious?

---
Online headline: "Canadian singer Bryan Adams cancels Mississippi show to protest same-sex law" -- I'm amazed at the entertainers who secretly want to use women's bathrooms... I just wonder if Ticketmaster is refunding all the service and delivery fees to the ticket buyers..wanna bet? Oh.. whoda heck is Bryan Adams?

---
HuffPOOPOO story: "Bill O’Reilly pressed Trump on how he could promise jobs for black voters. * “How are you going to get jobs for them?” O’Reilly asked. “Many of them are ill-educated and have tattoos on their foreheads, and I hate to be generalized about it but it’s true, if you look at all the educational statistics, how are you going to give jobs to people who aren’t qualified for jobs?” -- Good grief, O'Reilly.. what would make you even surmise that anyone with a forehead tattoo is interested in a 9-5 job that doesn't involve crime?

---
MCSD FOIA request update: " On April 1st, , I requested some information concerning fees collected from an out-of-county family who's 2 daughters attended Columbus High while they lived in a Harris County homestead exempt status house. The first legal response said I would have to pay $177.00 for fees to get it, I agreed. After not getting the info nor an address to send/take the money, I inquired again, and got another legal response from the MCSD lead attorney.. saying it would take approximately 7 business days to retrieve such info.  7 business days is tomorrow, and I still don't have the info nor the address to make the $177.00 payment. My first question is how my "fee" for searching could be computed if they hadn't already done the search, and now my question is "why would it take 7 (actually 7 to 12) days to do a search of computerized records... especially with the amount of money the MCSD has spent in the last few years on updating its networks and software? Oh... BTW, tomorrow is the last day of the approximate delivery date range.

L-E headline/story: "Officials react to shooting near Spring Fling event * Shots fired at gas station near Columbus Civic Center as Spring Fling guests were leaving event * No injuries reported Phenix City man taken into custody following incident, police said * Saturday night the Spring Fling drew nearly 1,400 people, Horner said, and it was shortly after closing time (closing time is 10:00 PM) when shots were heard * Police arrested 19-year-old S***** J***** Mc**** of Phenix City, a man who they said matched the gunman’s description, near the 400 block of Fourth Street. He resisted officers attempting to take him into custody for questioning, according to an arrest report. * Police said they were apprehending Mc*** around 10:31 p.m. Saturday when they found a stolen semi-automatic handgun valued at $500 in his possession. *  Booked into the Muscogee County Jail, Mc***** faces one count each of possession and carrying a concealed weapon without a license, theft by receiving stolen property in another state and obstruction of an officer. Officials have yet to clarify whether they identified him as the shooter." -- "stolen semi-automatic handgun...., carrying..without a license,... receiving stolen property"..., et al? Now,, what is the Court system going to do to make an example out of the (_*_) that will keep him off the streets to demonstrate to "him" and his "ASSociates" we're serious about gun crimes?

---
Note: the article for the above stated that there were about 1,400 attendees for the "family event".. wanna bet over/under on next years's attendance?

Question on the above article.. who was paying for the facility's use? I'm believing to believe that we taxpayers did, since 1,400 is not a "blowing it out of the park" number that would be attractive to a private businessman...

LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Hooray to Bill Clinton for standing up to those idiots calling themselves #BlackLivesMatter, whose name should really be #CriminalLivesMatter. They represent blacks about as much as ISIS represents Christians." -- Like "ISIS represents Christians"??? Good grief.. no wonder liberals vote Democrat! ...and now we know why ZERO-bama won't declare ISIS as muslim terrorists!

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Dennis Hastert, Newt Gingrich, Donald Trump all represent the “Family Values” party." -- I'll give the guy Hastert's an (_*_), but it seems that the writer must consider the Clintons (one of which flew to an island party with a convicted billionaire pedophile named Jeffrey Epstein) , Anthony Weiner, Elliott Spitzer, Barney Frank, Ted Kennedy, Jesse Jackson, Jr, Rangel, Adam Clayton Powell,  et al as to the complete lack of morals within the Democrat political hierarchy.

---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “The surest test of discipline is its absence.” — Clara Barton (1821-1912)." -- Wow.. how succinctly Ms Barton "nailed" the problems with our schools, crime, and government overspending.. Hey Rob Varner/Dr. Lewis & Mayor TomLYINGson.. added the last one to make sure you got the message!

---
L-E headline: "Council to vote on demolishing 16 dilapidated area houses * Owners may appeal for more time Owners will be billed for demolition fees" -- Surely the owners have a source of other income that can be garnisheed starting when those "buildings" are  razed.

---

L-E headline/story: "U.S., Goldman Sachs reach $5B settlement *  The agreement, smaller than deals reached with several of Goldman’s Wall Street counterparts, is the latest multi-billion-dollar civil settlement arising from the economic meltdown in which millions of Americans lost their homes to foreclosure or found themselves jobless.  *  The deal, which includes no criminal sanctions or penalties, is likely to stir additional criticism about the department’s inability to hold bank executives personally responsible." -- "no criminal sanctions or penalties"?  Now we we know why Goldman's paid so much to hear Hillary babble.. but why were criminal actions taken against her husband, Barney Frank and Chris Dodd?

First - the weekend update:

From the lips of Bill Clinton: ""I like protesters, but the ones that won't let you answer are afraid of the truth," -- Hmmm "the ones that won't let you answer are afraid of the truth"? Good grief..then the reality is that they have nothing to fear from you or Hillary... for the truth is not in either of you!

---
HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Nothing Bill Clinton Said To Defend His Welfare Reform Is True * Everything Bill Clinton said Thursday to defend his 1996 welfare reform law was false. *  The economy went into recession in March 2001, two months after Clinton left office. This was not because George W. Bush had just moved into the White House. It was because Clinton had left the country with a fundamentally unstable economy and a social safety net that had been weakened by his own bill" -- As Redd Foxx was oft to sat, "Here I come Elizabeth, it's the big one".. this is not Trump or Cruz rhetoric.. not even a Super-PAC hit piece.. this is from the HuffPOOPOO... the HuffPOOPOO!

--
HuffPOOPOO "headLIE"/story: -- "Sheldon Adelson And Top GOP Donors Retreat To The Sidelines *  Ambivalence about a Trump-Cruz battle pushes many Republican fundraisers away from the presidential contest." -- Now this is what we normally expect from the HuffPOOPOO.... stupidity...Any big donors of  Republican Party candidates who normally are shelling out aren't doing so because they support Trump, and Trump's not soliciting their money..

This was Masters week..plopped down and got into it by buying some pimento cheese and egg salad. Egg salad is my sandwich of choice, and pimento cheese my back up. Went and picked up some of both to be ready. Of note is that it's cheaper (other than the cost of a ticket) to buy two of these sandwiches at the Masters than an 8 ounce tub of the stuff.

---
Tom Watson...class act... we'll miss but always will have glorious memories. I did notice a change .. today..and probably yesterday.. he was wearing a Callaway hat..I remember him "forever" representing Adams Golf.

---
Confirmation: That WAS a collarless shirt McILroy wore on Friday.. I'm surprised the Masters allowed him back on the course.

---
Springsteen  canceled his Sunday April 10th concert in North Carolins because NC passed a law saying people must use public communal bathrooms based on the gender listed on their birth certificate. First, NC is better off without a Sunday concert, but more importantly, parents of daughters can feel safer that Cait (or for that matter, Bruce Springsteen) is not stalking their daughters in the women's bathrooms.

---
You know.. that purchase of the Chamber's "Train Depot" office for way less than market assessment rankles in two ways.. first. that the Chamber receives Columbus tax dollars, so we were paying the Chamber's property taxes with our own money, but the second reason is really the pits.. Mayor TomLYINGson's husband works at the law firm that bought the "Train Depot" for way below the assessment and will pay less taxes that before.

---
Well.. it wasn't pretty, but Jordan Spieth set a new Masters' record on Saturday.. having the lead at the end of the day for his 7th consecutive round.  I sorta regret that he'll no longer share that record with Arnold Palmer because it would have been a constant reminder for generations to come that "Arnie Was Here".

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " The GOP power brokers say Trump's temperament isn't presidential and Cruz is a liar. Sounds like what voters have been offered in the past. Same song, umpteenth verse." -- "Trump's temperament is not presidential"? Good grief.. as compared to what.. ZERO-bamageddon's temperament of racism and class warfare? And don't get me started on Hillary's or Bernie's!

---
Brilliant L-E "soundoff": "   We should give some territory to Bernie and all the leftist radicals, let them create their utopia, run it according to their social/governmental philosophy. And then see how many days it lasts before collapsing." -- Sounds good, but before long they'd be creeping back across the border to get back on our welfare programs .... and blaming Bush.

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "The Republican Party has created the likes of Josh McKoon. It now comes back to haunt them. Unfortunately the citizens of Columbus are being punished for his irresponsible behavior." -- Good grief..It wasn't McKoon who stripped funding out of the budget, and if some people did it on that basis, that's the group that needs to be ousted.. look towards John PEZ-soldout and Richard S***t*.

---
L-e's " Thought for Today: “Your actions, and your actions alone, determine your worth.” — Evelyn Waugh (1903-1966)." -- Hmmm.. or in Hillary's Benghazi case.. throw in her "inactions" as well.

---
Complete L-E headline/story: "Gunman fires two shots during sandwich shop holdup
— BEN WRIGHT *   A gunman fired two shots at a sandwich shop employee Friday during an armed robbery on Weems Road, Columbus police said. * The employee wasn’t injured during the 9:39 p.m. robbery at 3705 Weems Road. * Armed with a 9 mm pistol and covering his face with a red handkerchief, the gunman entered the business and demanded cash from the register. The robber then fired two shots at the employee without any warning before fleeing from the business. * The gunman was seen running north behind the business. Police found two shell casings from the gunshots. * The robber was described as black. He was wearing a white zip-up hooded sweatshirt, black gloves and khaki cargo pants." -- Once again, L-E "journalist",Hasn't Ever Been Wright demonstrates the depth of his inabilities.. I've copied the entire story in hopes you will find the name of the sandwich shop where this occured.

Moving on:

Online headline: "CIA Director John Brennan told NBC News in an exclusive interview that his agency will not engage in harsh "enhanced interrogation" practices, including waterboarding, which critics call torture -- even if ordered to by a future president." -- Hmmm-- guess this anarchist is set to retire... from the government  teat in January...

---
Online headline: "Obama reveals his presidency's No. 1 'worst mistake'" -- Good grief.. how can ZERO-bamageddon even pick #1 when he's stll got 9 months in office to "top" it? Personally, I thought his biggest mistake so far  was not firing Hillary immediately after the dust settled in Benghazi... but then again.. I'm not privy to all the mistakes he had to choose among.

---
You know.. with the threats the liberal politicians have made through IRS regulations about churches being stripped of their tax exemption if the pastors/rabbis/priests politically proselytize from the pulpit, how come it's allowable for Hilary to politically proselytize from any church's pulpit?

---
Online headline: "Hillary reveals potential White House spot for Bill" -- Lawn Jockey?

---
Online headline: "Clinton pokes fun at subway swipe fail" -- I just figured she used her government debit card and it got denied.

---
Online headline: "Sanders: Hillary Clinton 'clearly lacking' in key area" -- and what's new? I think Bill actually told us that.

---
Online j]headline: "Obama vows no influence in Clinton email probe" -- "no influence"?  I think he meant "no support" of the probe.. you know.. I'm still looking for e-mails between ZERO-bama and Hillary.

---
You would think that the 7 on the par 3 12th hole might have been the worst moment of Jordan Spieth's day, but I think having to help putting the Green Jacket on Willett was tougher.

---
Rory McIlroy was wearing that same gray collarless shirt under his sweater at the Masters on Sunday as well.  You.know, if the Masters allows players to wear collarless shirts, advertisers will revolt! Where will they put those logos so the cameras will show them?

---
Laws now restrict landlords from screening convicted criminals. Can you imagine what consternation this will cause for gated/luxury complexes as they ask for more money because of their security programs. I'm curious... if laws prohibit landlords from asking about criminal pasts, how will sex offenders be screened from family residential complexes?

---
L-E headline: "Schools could see dramatic changes in the next 2 years" -- Oooops.. thought the L-E had taken a poll and found that the MCSB incumbents weren't faring well.

---Instant repeat: "Schools could see dramatic changes in the next 2 years" -- All the talk about state take over of individual failing schools and districts would take care of itself if school board members from said districts were booted off and prohibited from ever running/serving again.

---

LIV's L-E "soundoff": "   If a man is born with a gold spoon in his mouth, has four butlers, a 747, a penthouse and a mansion in Florida … how can he have a clue what common people need?" -- You know.. I find that when a person is successful in business, it's because he/she is closely in tune with what the public wants and has tapped into that. Whether a hotel mogul, investment whiz, or even a drug lord. it takes a person attuned with the needs of those he serves in order to be successful. OK. writer, what are you successful in?

Online headline: "Bill Clinton: 'I almost want to apologize' for clashing with Black Lives Matter protesters" -- Good grief.. what is it with Clintons that when they do speak the truth on something..anything,  they feel guilty and want to apologize for speaking truthfully? Besides. if he "did apologize", he'd both be "lying", and setting a very time consuming precedence.. he doesn't have enough time left to apologize for all the things or to all the people he should.

Online story: " A New Jersey man faces a $2,000 fine or 90 days in jail for flying a flag emblazoned with Trump's  name over his home.  * Local officials said the flag violates an ordinance prohibiting the display of political signs more than 30 days ahead of an election and issued him a summons. New Jersey's primary is on June 7. *  Despite being issued a summons on March 25 for the violation, Joseph Hornick apparently intends to keep it up. *  "The fine can be in the Millions of dollars! That flag will never come down!" he wrote in a defiant Facebook post." -- Just another reason Trump's "Make America GREAT Again" resonates across the country... our 1st Amendment rights are constantly under liberals' attack.

---
Online story: "The U.S. Department of Justice released thousands of subpoenaed documents about the controversial "Operation Fast and Furious" gun trafficking investigation to a congressional committee on Friday, a committee spokeswoman said. * The operation was a failed effort between 2009 and 2011 to stop gun smuggling across the United States' southwestern border by the department's Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and federal prosecutors in Arizona. * As part of the operation, the department knowingly allowed people to illegally buy guns in the United States and take them into Mexico, court documents showed." -- Wait a minute.. didn't Pric Holder deny knowledge of this operation?

---
Democratic Governor of Connecticut Dan Malloy  is about to end 1,000-to-2000 state jobs.. (though in the know people estimate 4,000) to curtail its $900,000.00 budget revenue shortage.. One of the things  he's cutting back on is a 1% cut on "cash assistance" program for "the needy".  HUH? What's a state doing in the "cash assistance" program business anyway? Besides, if it's big enough that a 1% cut back is "noticeable". then chances are a 100% cut back is warranted. .

---
Hmmm Governor Dan Malloy.. he certainly is a big fan of the meaningless political gesture. His showboating can be timed to distract attention from Connecticut’s imbalanced budget and crumbling economy. Last year, Malloy signed an executive order banning official travel to Indiana, which had just passed a Religious Freedom Restoration Act. Last month he leapt at another juicy opportunity to grab the mic and advertise his pristine virtue. This time it was North Carolina’s bill requiring that people use bathrooms and changing facilities according to their biological gender. Malloy signed an order banning official travel from Connecticut to North Carolina. “This law is not just wrong,” he said. “It poses a public-safety risk to Connecticut residents traveling through North Carolina. That’s right — a public-safety risk. This week Malloy also banned non-essential official travel to Mississippi, because of a law passed there under the principle known as representative democracy. What's even more comical is that Connecticut has had a RFRA of its own on the books since 1993. Turns out that Nutmeggers enjoy even sturdier religious-freedom protections than Hoosiers do.

---
Online headline: "Bernie Says That As President, He’d Apologize for Slavery — Then He Talked About Reparations…" -- Good grief.. and as a Democrat, he probably should.. but only because he's a Democrat..  It was Democrats who nearly voted unanimously AGAINST the 13th Amendment.. Now, if Democratic Party want to pay for their guilt so be it, BUT, it is not a debt, nor a :guilt",  that belongs on the backs of hard working average American taxpayers.

---
Online story: "Islamic State executed 175 of the 300 Syrian cement workers it captured near the Syrian capital of Damascus." -- Hey ZERO-bamageddon.. are they "terrorists" yet?

---
I made a mistake yesterday..but it's one I'm enjoying correcting. As marvelous as it is that Jordan Spieth had 5 straight rounds leading the field, Arnold Palmer lead the field for 6 consecutive rounds in 1960-61.  I'm also proud to mention that Jordan Spieth went on  tie Arnie's record yesterday, and whether or not he breaks it today is not important..

---
Speaking of the Masters.. was that a collarless shirt Rory McIlroy was wearing yesterday?  Looks like "dress codes" at golf courses are about to be shaken up.

---
You know, it's ironically "funny" that the Republican establishment now wants to support Cruz..guess this is the confirmation that the RNC/GOP leadership finally admits that it had abandoned the policies of what this country's hard working taxpayers have been needing.

---
Enhanced repeat of a yesterday story: "L-E headline/story: " Americans view Trump negatively across board * For Americans of nearly every race, gender, political persuasion and location, disdain for Donald Trump runs deep, saddling the Republican front-runner with unprecedented unpopularity as he tries to overcome recent campaign setbacks. * Seven in 10 people, including close to half of Republican voters, have an unfavorable view of Trump, " -- "close to half of Republican voters, have an unfavorable view of Trump"? Good grief..that means that Trump has MORE than half of the Republicans that don't feel that way.. and that can be said about any candidate in any party's primary.. That's what primaries are about!

You know.. if Trump got more than 50% favorable ratings from the Republicans polled, then he actually had to get some Democrats that think favorable of him.. That my friends is an indicator that Trump will beat any Democrat in November!

Addendum: Since Trump is getting more than 50% of Republican voters looking at him
favorably", the RNC/GOP leadership needs to acknowledge this before committing further hara kiri .

---
L-E headline: "COLUMBUS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE * Attorneys purchase depot from chamber" -- Hmmm... and another tax hit for Mayor TomLYINGson.. The Chamber paid about $25.000.00 annually for a building assessed at $1.5 Million, so now it will be taxed "only" at it's new $1,000.000.00 purchase price. Oh.. and isn't the Mayor's husband a personal benefactor in this?

---
L-E headline/story: " In the appeal filed Thursday afternoon, Brown’s attorney, J. Mark Shelnutt, recounted some of the same points he made at the elections board meeting: He wrote that Brown already had been fingerprinted and vetted when she ran for sheriff in 2012 and would have met the deadline for the coming May 24 Democratic Primary had anyone been available to collect her fingerprints on March 16." -- Excuse.. but couldn't she have been fingerprinted on March 7, 8, 9, 10,11, 14, or 15th just as well?
