You know, it would seem that the Parties' Committees would want to equally help all its candidates to get ready for the general election. Otherwise, just skip the primary formalities and just pick their  "good old boy/girl".

Good grief.. there's a request before Council to purchase 50 Tasers  (with accessories) for better than $1,000.00 EACH! Purportedly  because it's "an option that could prevent the necessity for "deadly force", thereby preventing serious injury to an officer or "citizen" taken into custody".  What BS! .. A Glock .45 cal pistol can be bought for about half of that (and the police already have plenty). Instead of spending $53,000, make up a few PSAs and have the local broadcast media pipe those into their ad mix.. for free, I might ad, saying that the need for "deadly force" will be eliminated if criminals just "stop" when a police officer yells. "stop", "cease" "freeze" or any other order when affronted. If they don't, then the police will shoot. That's more than enough warning!

Why does the Council want new Electronic Validating Fare boxes that cost $13789.00 each (with freight)? Even Hillary cannot handle a swipe card reader. In a local election for the Clerk of Superior Court, Ann Hardman,the challenger to the incumbent, has some serious qualification questions that need answering.. possibly to the Board of Elections.. her qualifying address lists another Columbus family as the owners of a Homestead exempted residence and her "Ministries" address is another person's Homestead exempted home. Both are in "nice" neighborhoods.. In addition, her website for one of her ministries gives you an "error" message - "The Web server is configured to not list the contents of this directory". MCSD FOIA request update: " On April 1st, , I requested some information concerning fees collected from an out-of-county family who's 2 daughters attended Columbus High while they lived in a Harris County homestead exempt status house. The first legal response said I would have to pay $177.00 for fees to get it, I agreed. After not getting the info nor an address to send/take the money, I inquired again, and got another legal response from the MCSD lead attorney.. saying it would take approximately 7 business days to retrieve such info.  7 business days is tomorrow, and I still don't have the info nor the address to make the $177.00 payment. My first question is how my "fee" for searching could be computed if they hadn't already done the search, and now my question is "why would it take 7 (actually 7 to 12) days to do a search of computerized records... especially with the amount of money the MCSD has spent in the last few years on updating its networks and software? Oh... BTW, tomorrow is the last day of the approximate delivery date range.
