Online story: "According to a new CBS News poll, 57% of Americans are now in favor of a federal ban on assault weapons like the one gunman Omar Mateen used to kill at least 49 at Orlando gay club Pulse on Sunday. *  When it comes to whether gun owners should be required to pass universal background checks, both Republicans (92%) and Democrats (97%) were overwhelmingly in favor." --  Let's face it.. even after an emotional event, and no screened process as to who was polled, no matter how you "figure" it, even 57% of states isn't enough to amend/repeal a Constitutional Article. What's wrong is that even government background checks of Muslims like the Orlando (_*_) by the FBI won't keep guns out of the hands of potential murderers as long as Political Correctness rules the results of those checks.

---
Online story: "Senate Democrats ended a nearly 15-hour filibuster early Thursday after Republican Party leaders reportedly agreed to allow votes on two proposed gun control measures. * Sen. Chris Murphy, a Democrat from Connecticut, said that a compromise had been reached * Votes would be held on whether to ban people on the government's terrorist watch list from obtaining gun licenses and whether to expand background checks to gun shows and internet sales" -- Good grief.. the only ones who don't know about the plethora of current background checks are people who haven't bought a gun, but no new law of any sort will change things until: 1 - the FBI checks eliminate any Political Correctness (see item above), 2 - Courts add more death sentence mandates, including strict schedules to carry death sentence out, for people illegally possessing and using guns to commit a crime, and 3 - replacing RINO or liberal Senators like Murphey with Constitutional conservatives.

---
Online headline: "Obama reveals first place she'll go after White House" -- Good grief.. just go, already.. I'll let her know if I care where..

---
Online headline/story: "This $6 Supermarket Wine Was Just Named One of the Best in the World  *  La Moneda Reserva Malbec—a Chilean wine sold exclusively at the British supermarket chain Asda, a subsidiary of Walmart, no less—beat out around 16,000 other entries from around the globe in a blind taste test to take home the prestigious honor of best single-varietal red under £15, according to the Independent. The bottle typically retails for just £5.75, but has recently been on “rollback” pricing for just £4.37 or the equivalent of about $6.29. No wonder that Walmart smiley face is so damn happy." -- Good grief.. the super-elite libs.. the wine drinkers. may just do what unions haven't been able to do.. shut down Walmart.. no self-elevating snob would ever admit to drinking wine that cost $6.29 a pop, and they certainly don't want blue collar workers buying and drinking better wine than they do.

---
A two year old toddler was grabbed by an alligator at a Disney resort hotel in Orlando. At this point, 5 alligators have been captured and euthanized(*) in the search.. I want those (_*_) protesters concerned about the shooting of the gorilla to save a child at the Cincinnati Zoo to please offer insight to the parents and family of the Orlando toddler as to why they feel animals are more sacred than children.

(*) - euthanized was the word used by officials, but euthanized is actually an humane manner to put a health failing animal so "sleep".

---
You know.. if 5alligators can be "euthanized" efficiently and quickly within 24 hours, why don't other states import Florida Wildlife personnel in to carry out death sentences for convicted murderers?

---
L-E headline: "Latest school board meeting proof of high stakes in July 26 runoffs * Monday’s called meeting of Muscogee County School Board, when tentative budget was rejected, showed why balance of power is up for grabs *Winners of District 1 and District 7 seats to determine whether Frank Myers’ anti-establishment coalition gains more votes * BY Mark Rice" --  Good grief...Mark Rice should be chastised for pushing an agenda promoted by Lewis and Varner. This election is not about Frank Myers...it's about improving the students chances to lead productive lives after they graduate.

---
Online headline/story: "Stolen DNC files on Trump leaked * More than 200 pages of what appears to be the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) opposition research on Donald Trump was leaked, first to The Smoking Gun and then Gawker Wednesday, after Russian government hackers reportedly infiltrated the DNC’s computer networks. * The document, titled “Donald Trump Report,” includes an attack on the presumptive Republican presidential nominee’s character and record, and hundreds of pages describing instances of Trump changing his stance or saying something false or inflammatory.  * Trump’s marriages are also covered extensively, according" --  Good grief.. is this what's important to the DNC? Tell you what, I'd rather  see what the hackers found in the DNC's files on what they are trying to cover up about Hillary.

---
Online story: "Atlanta Democrat John Lewis would be blocked from receiving a U.S. naval ship namesake under a bill introduced in the U.S. House yesterday. * Sponsored by Mississippi Republican Steven Palazzo, the legislation would bar the Navy from naming vessels after lawmakers who have not served as president or in the military. Lewis, a longtime member of Congress who is the last surviving member of the so-called “big six” leaders of the civil rights era, would not be eligible for the honor under that criteria." -- How novel.. only naming a naval ship after someone who has actually served in our military (in a division of naval service would be even better) or has been a president/commander-in-chief of America... why is this even an issue?

---
L-E headline/story: "W.C. Bradley, Char-Broil counter-sue rival over three-legged kettle grill *  W.C. Bradley, in its suit, also charges that Weber is attempting to monopolize the market for three-legged kettle grills because of the less expensive manufacturing process." -- "because of the less expensive manufacturing process"? You know.. I'd choose such a grill based on which made a "safer" rather than less costly version.. preferably one with 4 or more legs for better stability or one with a wheeled base for maneuverability.. Golden Foundry's Cast Iron cooker gets my vote.

---
Insightful L-E "soundoff": "   All Americans have a right to be free. They do not have a right to have everything free." -- Obviously not a Democratic Party politician making a campaign promise for re-election...

---
L-E headline/story: "Correctional officer faces multiple charges after 4 inmates wander off during work detail *
Quinton Hayes, who has since resigned from his position with the Rainwater Division, pleaded not guilty to one count of aiding or permitting another to escape lawful custody, reckless conduct , violation of oath by public officer and false statements and writings. * ( special agent with the Georgia Department of Corrections Criminal Investigations Division, Chris ) Samra said records show Hayes’ employer wrote him up several times for not keeping an eye on inmates who would then wander off." -- God grief.. and government wants to be responsible for background checks for guns and vetting Muslim refugees?

---

According to a L-E story. another baseball oriented movie will be filmed at historic Luther Williams Field in Macon.. past films include “The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings, “42” and “Trouble with the Curve.” This new one, "Brockmire" will generate $28,000 in fees over about 3 or 4 weeks.. Hmmm.. our Golden Park hasn't generated that much in fees in several years. and no longer can really be considered "historic" since those awful "sky boxes" were added during the Olympic softball days.

Good grief, how much more embarrassing can ZERO-bama portray himself than he did yesterday? Instead of grieving with America , he used his bully pulpit to push his gun control agenda and political animosity to Republicans. He even mentioned using the Christian concept of turning the other cheek when the enemy strikes in spite of the knowing the enemy is not even thinking one strike is enough, and even though he does what he can to eliminate Americans from practicing Christianity.

---
Amazing.. no... absolutely stupefying.. An Islamic terrorists goes on a rampage, and ZERO-bama blames Trump! Well, if there's anything Trump should be blamed for is pointing out the effect of ZERO-bama's ineptness.. and the narcissistic demeanor of ZERO-bama and the Democratic Party minions! You know, if ZERO-bama spoke out as passionately about eliminating ISIS/Radical Islamic Terrorism as he does about eliminating Trump, Trump wouldn't have even run for president...

---
L-E headline: "‘Not the America we want’: Obama blasts Trump’s Muslim plans" -- What .. or who, actually, does ZERO-bama include in "we"? I want what Trump wants.. that Muslim refugees, be properly vetted before being allowed into America.. and after learning that the Orlando shooter was vetted twice by the FBI and still was cleared for security jobs and gun purchases, I'm not sure any reasonable vetting would give "us" the security we deserve,

---
Online headline/story: "Armed Hostage Taker at Texas Walmart Identified as 54-Year-Old Longtime Employee: Walmart * Mohammad Moghaddam, 54, had worked for Walmart for "more than a decade" and was a current employee when he took hostages at the Amarillo store " --  Good grief.. a terroristic attack by a man named Mohammad... and not one story in the more than 2 dozen I scan even mentioned a possible Muslim connection.. Most just said further information was not available at the time.. BUT.. I saw no updates  by any of the news sources indicating they had looked into it further, Muslim or not, Pathetic Journalism...

---
Not being light about the matter, I sincerely would like to know how the reported deaths of 50 during the Orlando terrorist atrocity has become 49...

---
Looks like a long hot summer in Chicago.. just the first 2 weeks on June have resulted in 229 shootings and 37 homicides. For the year... so far... there have been 1,710 shootings and 290 homicides.. and the 4th of July weekend is still a couple of weeks away.  You'd have thought since Chicago is Hillary's hometown, and ZERO-bama has a home there, that the Democratic Convention would have been scheduled there instead.

---
In case mainstream media, nationally, or  in the area didn't get the message out.. an Orlando Chick-fil-A brought in its staff on Sunday and prepared food which they took to the blood donor center and passed out to those lined up to donate. Mind you, Chick-fil-A does not open on Sunday for business.. it was just the Christian thing to do..

---
Online headline: "Report: Spies got a hold of strategies against Trump * The Washington Post reported Tuesday that Russian hackers accessed the Democratic National Committee's network to access opposition research." -- Hmmm... I guess the Russians wanted to find out how the Democrats plan to derail Trump, too.. Does anyone think Putin would prefer dealing with Trump over Hillary?

---
Online story: "Sadiq Khan, London’s first Muslim mayor, announced Monday that “body shaming” advertisements will no longer be allowed in London’s public transport. *  “As the father of two teenage girls, I am extremely concerned about this kind of advertising which can demean people, particularly women, and make them ashamed of their bodies. It is high time it came to an end,” Khan said." -- Too bad he didn't speak out against "Muslim shaming" terror attacks...

---
ZERO-bama really doesn't understand that he's a big part of the problem of emboldening Islamic jihadism. By reducing our military to a level lower than it was prior to World War II when our population was about a third of the the population today, our soldiers , in spite of their willingness, are exhausted by yo-yo assignments.

---
Online headline: "Some Gay Men Say They Will Support Trump After Orlando Shooting" -- "Some"? Yeah..the smart ones.....

---
You know, graduates now complaining about the debt their student loans have created are basically confirmation of how poor the public K-12 education has become.. none seem to be able to have realized the basic math at the time they signed (or printed) their names on the bottom line..

---
Online headline/story: "Council approves $270 million FY17 budget" * (Mayor) Tomlinson said the city seems to have “turned a corner” financially, in that the new budget is the first in more than a decade that didn’t rely on using reserve funds to balance the budget." -- "the new budget is the first in more than a decade that didn't rely on using reserve funds to balance the budget"? Well, it certainly wasn't Mayor TomLYINGson's idea! Her proposed budget had nearly $400,000.00 worth of Fund Balance revenues usage.

---
I really sympathize with Mike Garner's complaint about the signature petition to run for a local political office... the general public really isn't "into" politics until after Labor Day, and the Board of Elections requires qualifying way to early. I do wish Garner would make a concerted effort to comply (as he files his law suit) by posting a schedule of times and places I can go to sign his petition.

---
The National Defense Authorization Act passed the Senate overwhelmingly by an 85-13 vote (2 Democrats - Bernie and CA's Barbara Boxer) not voting at all because of a lack of "balls" to stand tall).. Surprisingly, 6 "Republicans" voted against it (4 I understand because their states went for Cruz in the primaries) One of the Republicans is Senator Crapo of Idaho... I believe we;ve found a "replacement" name for the ambiguous "RINO" designation for liberal Republicans.

---
I'd like to know what happens when our police department take/send a person injured in a criminal act(or during an arrest). Does the injured criminal/arrestee have to provide his/her medical insurance card (OObama-CRAP) or does the hospital just send an overinflated bill to the City's finance director?

---
The last building at the BTW complex is down (or at least, on its way down).  What I look forward to is not seeing the razor-wire topped barb-wire fence that was there for all our visitors to see when touring our town.. but it's only a start.. there are at least 11 more such fences visible on Veterans Parkway fro Victory Drive to River Road.

---
L-E headline/story: "REPORTER’S NOTEBOOK * Web course helps vets transition to corporate life *
BY ALVA JAMES-JOHNSON * The Veterans Education Training and Transition 101 program goes by the acronym VET2. It was created by Georgia Tech Professional Education, in collaboration with the Georgia Department of Economic Development, to provide employment opportunities and assistance for up to 7,000 veterans from Fort Benning and Fort Stewart. It’s free to service members and combines professional education with job experience by partnering “active, transitioning and recently separated service members” with employers for classroom and online instruction. The course will focus on employment “soft skills” such as resume building and interview skills." -- Great story, and presented in a clear, succinct, and informative manner.. All other L-E reporters should tape this to their monitors as an example of how to write an article.

---
L-E headline/story: "What it’s like to live under North Carolina’s bathroom law if you’re transgender * (Payton) McGarry, a 20-year-old student at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, is a transgender man. But because his birth certificate says he’s female, North Carolina law says it’s illegal for him to use the men’s room at school." -- First.. if this "guy" has had \"the surgery", then he's welcome to use the men's room.. in fact. he better use "the men's room". but I'm sure like a lot businesses have don long before this issue, there are "family" bathrooms that allow single users (of parent w/child) a private opportunity to relieve themselves.

---
L-E guest commentary headline/first paragraph: "Religion, gays, and freedom * BY CHARLIE HARPER *
GeorgiaPol.com  * The attack on the nightclub popular with the LGBT community was conducted by a terrorist who fit the usual profile. He had limited formal education, with much of his worldview set by by a stint at a fundamentalist camp that represented some of the most extreme views of his religion. He was a radicalized American citizen. He stated that while those who practice homosexuality in private “should not be hassled,” those demanding that this become accepted in public should be met with “force if necessary.” -- Good grief.. Harper has broken what use to be THE fundamental requirements of an open paragraph.. hook the reader with the pertinent facts.. Did Harper intentional leave out that the (_*_) was an Islamist, or does Harper just not think... "feel" such info is pertinent?

---

L-E headline/story: "Boeing nears historic deal with Iran *  Iran is preparing to unveil a historic agreement for Boeing jetliners within days that could be valued at about $25 billion." -- Good grief.. ZERO-bama has just given Iran back $150 BILLION in US held assets, with approval to finish making a nuclear weapon system, and now Iran is cementing a deal that would guarantee a US built,  intercontinental nuclear weapon delivery system? Vote TRUMP!

Tuesday, June 14, 2016

Today is not only Flag Day... it's Donald Trump's birthday.. we can raise our US (versus foreign) flags, not only with pride, but with excitement!

---
Online headline/story: "Democrats push for new gun control * Four Democratic senators, led by Chuck Schumer of New York, the No. 2 Senate Democrat, called for immediate passage of a bill preventing people on "terror watch lists" and other "suspected terrorists" from buying firearms or explosives." --  "people on "terror watch lists" and other "suspected terrorists"?  Good grief.. Most Democrats consider military veterans and hunters "suspect terrorists" as it is! It's part of the Democratic Party mantra to be "thought police" for anyone who stands up for true Constitutional rights.

---
Online headline: "8 facts about armed LA pride suspect: Reported bisexuality, NRA sticker" -- Guess the Democrats will now claim alternative lifestyle individuals are "terrorists" and can't possess guns.

---
It's really embarrassing that when ZERO-bama has an opportunity to speak out against the evil of radical Islamic jihadism, he takes the microphone and blames guns. The world laughs and 3rd World despots grow more courageous...emboldened...

---
Notes about the Orlando jihad: Jerry Henry of GeorgiaCarry.org said, "“It was illegal for the murderer to carry his firearm into the bar in Florida. My guess is that several more laws were broken by this murderer as well,” said Henry. “This begs the question: What did these laws do to protect these innocent people? Answer: nothing.” -- If anything, the jihadist was bolstered by knowing other guns were not present inside.

---
That neighbor of the Olando terrorist who said he was a "nice guy"...well, the FBI needs to give that neighbor the full audit.

---
A fellow BCer suggested a way for us all to "beat the system.... in this atmosphere of government acknowledgement of an individual's right to self-identify ourselves, we can just declare ourselves to be "dogs".. better yet... chimpanzees... yes, chimpanzees would be even better because there are any neutering laws for chimpanzees, and chimpanzees don't pay taxes either! Think about it.. the Democrats already believe we are descendents of apes...

---
Online headline/story: "Orlando Shooter Worked for Security Firm With Government Ties *  The man suspected of killing 50 people and wounding 53 in a mass shooting Sunday in Florida was employed by G4S Plc, a British security firm whose clients in more than 100 countries include the U.S. government. * G4S was consistently one of the biggest federal contractors government after the September 11 terrorist attacks, mostly with the U.S. departments of Homeland Security and State," -- Man.. this really will make those 2-3 hours you stand in the TSA lines at airports more tolerable and comforting.... NOT. It also undermines ZERO-bama's claims that more gun laws/tougher screenings will be a cure-all for jihadism.

---
L-E headline: "ORLANDO SHOOTING * Did police response give shooter more time? * The decision by law enforcement to hold off on entering the Pulse club immediately raised questions among experts * Experts say there’s a big difference between responding to a lone gunman and a shooter who has hostages" -- You know.. the real holdback is the ZERO-bama/Democratiic Party policy of doing nothing because somebody might get offended..not much difference than the Benghazi atrocity.

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Having to choose between Hillary and Trump for president is like having to choose between ISIS and the Taliban for the Nobel Peace Prize." -- Hmmm... I don't have a problem with choosing Trump over Hillary, but I can see how the Nobel Committee might have a difficult time in its choice.. after all, the Nobel people lowered to bar to the ground when it selected XERO-bama as a "winner".

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "   Hillary could have spoken about her foreign policy accomplishments, but I enjoyed attack on Trump much more. What are Trump’s foreign policy accomplishments other than building golf courses?" -- Hmmm.. unlike Hillary, Trump has successfully negotiated business deals with foreign government, and nothing is more political than money..

---
From the L-E's "Today in History" feature: "In 1943, the U.S. Supreme Court, in West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette, ruled 6-3 that children in public schools could not be forced to salute the flag of the United States." -- How sad.. the 1943 ruling honored our 1st Amendment Rights... now the ZERO-bama administration.. and liberal  Supreme Court Justices have about taken away the rights of students BEING ABLE to voluntarily salute/honor our US flag...

---
L-E headline/story: "Muscogee County School Board rejects tentative budget *    For various reasons, a divided Muscogee County School Board rejected the tentative budget superintendent David Lewis’ administration presented during Monday evening’s called meeting. *    Cantrell didn’t say why he voted against the tentative budget. During the May 25 budget work session, Chambers led the board’s request for the administration to explain the increase or decrease “when we have large chunks of money.” Lewis promised such an explanation for variances of $50,000 or more." -- Hmmm.. guess the recent results and impending runoff elections  have awaken the judgements of those looking at their re-elections in two 2 years.

---
From the above L-E story: "The administration’s document shows proposed raises for teachers totaling $3.5 million, but Thomas’ analysis shows the proposed budget reducing teacher salaries by a total of $3.7 million. Thomas asked Thornton to explain the discrepancy. *  Varner said Thomas should have shown “basic courtesy” by privately asking Thornton to explain the difference in their numbers instead of “trying to throw a gotcha moment in public.” " -- You know.. Varner could have made this "moot" if he had requested that the MCSD provide these figures earlier when Thomas wanted to see them which would j[have allowed an "off record" conversation. Vote for Shelia Williams and JoAnn Thomas Brown in the runoffs.. It's time we have a board composed of people who thing=k the MCSD is accountable to the taxpayers.

---
From the "pathetic" department - L-E headline/story: "Police: Mother had two kids assist in shoplifting at Peachtree Mall *  Columbus police Cpl. Jose Marrero said an officer was called to the Macy’s department store in the Peachtree Mall at 3131 Manchester Expressway around 9 p.m. Saturday to investigate a shoplifting. * A Macy’s security officer said he witnessed Thompson conceal nearly $200 worth of items into bags, hand them to her two children and attempt to leave the store without paying for the merchandise, police testified. * Marrero said Thompson has used her kids to shoplift at least twice before Saturday with one of those incidents occurring at a local Wal-Mart. He said the children, ages 9 and 8, were “definitely traumatized” after watching their mother get handcuffed on the scene." -- Hmm.. the times.. they have changed.. I can remember when a older teen shoplifting "gang" would swoop into one of our departments (at Kirven's), arrogantly stuff merchandise in shopping bags, then hand it off to a "tween/child" who would try to leave the building. Shoplifting laws were nothing more than a slap on the wrist for a child, and the older teens knew this and made the children earn their way into their group this way. I also remember learning that if we reported the child's misconduct to their parents, better results would happen to keep this from reoccurring..  Mama's would take care of the discipline.. now we have a mama CONTRIBUTING to her children's delinquency!

---
You know.. it must be disheartening for students who graduate from college to realize how much debt they agreed to pay for their education.. it'll be even more disheartening when they figure out that by taking out these "easy-to-get" loans, that  the loans were a large contributing factor to the cost of their own education.

---

I tell you what.. I'll listen to illegal aliens' complaints about their difficulties to blend into mainstream America if they go home and work hard at getting their countries to make it easier for Americans to get the same consideration in their countries.

Monday, June 13, 2016

Let's all pause a moment and reflect.. empathize, with the grief of the victims and families . of the dead and alive, in Orlando..

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Not one living president of the United States endorses or associates with Donald Trump. They may just know something about this job and what it takes." -- " may just know something about this job and what it takes"? -- Hmmm.. or could it be simply that libs and centrists fear that Trump will remind the world that a strong, non-political business leader will make things great again...or everyone!

---
What is it with Romney? I guess he doesn't remember  that a lot of us held our nose and voted for him in 2012?

---
This  week is the Miss Georgia Pageant held here in Columbus.. 49 young women with looks, talent, and ambition.... and lots of hair will grace our town. Don't you know "Locks of Love" would love to have a post-contest fund raising event.

---
Online story: "A Telemundo reporter was viciously punched in the head Wednesday on live TV.
Iris Delgado was at the tail end of her live shot at Philadelphia City Hall when a woman sauntered up to her and said, "Excuse me, excuse me." It's unclear what set the woman off, but the punch is painful to watch. She was punched 3 times and pulled to the ground. * You hear the anchor say, "¡Ay Dios mio!" (Oh my God). * Law enforcement tells us Iris complained of pain to the right side of her head.  * The attacker was arrested." -- Hmmm... but no mention that the woman who suckerpunched the reporter was black though it is obvious in the video clip. Looks like "unity" within the Democratic voter base ..isn't......

---
From the "it's not one world" department - Online story: "In a remote area of Afghanistan, where thousands of years of hardscrabble tribal culture increasingly mixes with a resurgent Taliban militancy, this is how Fazl Ahmad allegedly died. * Local officials in Ghor province said one of Ahmad’s distant relatives was suspected of killing a former Taliban commander. In December, militants dragged Ahmad from his house and cut out his eyes in retaliation. * Ahmad was still alive and screaming when the attackers began carving the skin off his chest, leaving his heart exposed. Then they threw the 21-year old laborer off a 10-story cliff, officials said. * “They skinned him alive,” said Ruqiya Naeel, a member of parliament from the area." -- Sharia vigilantism? You know, a professor at Florida Atlantic University recently praised sharia law punishments of butchery as a way to stop crime.. he's still on staff and teaching...

---
Saw a huge grocery customer riding one of those electric shopping carts ...I normally have empathy with people suffering from debilitating obesity, but this time I felt sorry for the cart.

---
Have you seen that ad about the refrigerator with the built in cameras that allow you to see what's in the "frig" via your "smart phone" when you're at the grocery store? Hmmm, I thought the frig light cut off when you closed the door?

---
What exactly is the basis of the law suits against Trump University? If Trump U. is at fault for a student not getting a job or not being well educated, then most every public high school student probably has a case against their local school board.

---
You know, if you simply put aside counting the all "superdelegates" until the actual Democratic Party Convention, the pledged count won in the primaries/caususes actually favors Bernie Sanders 1779 to 1622 for Hillary. It's doubly embarrassing for Hillary since Bernie supporters were not swayed into her camp even when she adopted Bernie's campaign promises for all the free stuff.

---
Good grief...In an interview with Brett Baer, Hillary said the economy has evolved because it's climbed out of the abyss of the last 8 years, and making government bigger will be the catalyst to make it grow. Huh? You know, if the economy looked promising, voters would be lined up at the employment lines rather than welfare offices..and the proof would be that Trump wouldn't be running for president, he'd be hiring people to complete more profit making deals.

---
Who said Trump couldn't..wouldn't apologize for something he erred in saying..Saturday, Trump said he’d apologize because his name calling “is an insult to Pocahontas, not Warren.”

---
Looks like Islam has declared war on the LGBT community...maybe now, as diversity has begun to cannibalize itself, ZERO-bama will finally call them Islamist terrorists .

---
A tragedy? Orlando was not a tragedy..it was an atrocious direct attack on America!

---
Once again, ZERO-bama disappointed our country...he placed the Orlando mass murder blame on guns....on the guns...not the Isamist jihadist who pulled the trigger and killed 50 people. November cannot come soon enough.

---
You know.. how come there's so little coverage by mainscream media for Louis Farrakhan's "Nation of Islam"?

---
Speaking of apologies.. when's the mainscream media going to demand that ZERO-bama, Hillary, Pelosi, Feinstein, and Schumer apologize to America's future?

---
Pittsburgh has a lot to celebrate this year.. they won the Stanley Cup this weekend, and they'll get to vote Trump in November!

---
There's a new bombshell book out.. "Hillary.. the other Woman".. I figured it was an autobiography by Bill.

---
Online headline: "Sanders reveals 'commitment' he wants from Clinton" -- Good grief.. after camapigning against her for a year or so, Bernie is the last person in the Democratic Party I would suspect who would  believe anything Hillary promised!

---
From the "huh?" department - Online story: "James Corden opened the 2016 Tony Awards with poignant words, addressing the Orlando mass shooting that happened just hours before the curtain rose on Broadway's biggest night...."Hate will never win.". --- Hmmm.. I have no clue who James Corden is, but he should be out at Trump rallies with this message for the pro-Hillary rioters.

---
Online headline: "Michelle Obama's best looks ever" -- Oooops, I would have thought the look she gave ZERO-bama at Nelson Mandela's Memorial Service when he was flirting with Germany's Angela Merkel would have easily topped the list..

---
From the "I didn't see this coming" department - HuffPOOPOO headlines: "It's Not A Coincidence That The Orlando Attack Happened During Ramadan" * "Orlando: Not Foreign Fighters or Homegrown Terrorists--Just A Radical Islamic Terrorist" -- Good grief.. Obviously, the HuffPOOPOO just called out Hillary and ZERO-bama... ...has the HuffPOOPOO inadvertently endorsed Trump!

---
L-E story: " At a community meeting last week, a Department of Natural Resources consultant who’s to plan a park at Columbus’ Old River Road Standing Boy Wildlife Management Area proffered an epic menu of options * Embedded in this proposal is the circular logic that you can’t have a state park unless you build in enough revenue to run it like a business: It must be self-sustaining, after taxpayers pay for the design, engineering, architecture, clearing, grading, sewer, water and electricity." -- Hmmm and why are state projects mandated to break even (or better), but projects of Mayor TomLYINGson - i.e. the Recycling Center, Bike Trail, Dog Run, TAD's and. of course, the Queen TT Lounge and the Aquacenter allowed to be built without any forecast of revenue that will maintain/sustain them?

---
LIV's sarcastic L-E "soundoff": "Thanks to council for an extra two hours of sleep. I’ve been getting up at 5 for swimming workouts since 1965. Now I can tell clients I’ll be in a little later in the morning." -- Hey.. build yourself a pool.. hey, if the city pools charged a proper fee, ypou'd have already paid for a pool in yopur backyard.. of course, you could just join the YMCA...

---

L-E headline: "MUSCOGEE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD * Goldberg to be recommended as chief operations, facilities officer" -- Good grief.. what are they going to pay him with.. funds that do not exist? Projected budgets for this and next year are topping the 86/87 percent range for overall salaries/benefits.. this explains why there's not near enough left in the budget for a proper facilities maintenance program, and now the MCSB is going to approve another $100,000+ chunk of it to pay someone to watch the facilities rot away?

Saturday, June 11, 2016

From the "life has come full cycle" department: "Fox Sports Sun sideline reporter Emily Austen has been fired after making several inappropriate comments on Barstool Sports Facebook Live broadcast." -- Good grief.. a woman has been fired just as men have been fired for non-political correctness! Now woman have achieved  "equal pay for equal say" status.

From the "Moonbeam Brown is right.. we do need a wall built around California" department - Online headline story: "BMW of North America Wins Bid to Supply the Los Angeles Police Department with 100 BMW i3 Electric Vehicles * Los Angeles, CA – June 8, 2016... BMW of North America today announced that it has won its bid to supply the Los Angeles Police Department with 100 fully-electric BMW i3 vehicles for use in the department's transportation fleet.* " -- Good grief.. $42K a pop for a car that can get only an EPA estimated 81 miles per charge.. what that means is that theses cars are limited to 40.5 miles away from their chargers, and that doesn't include getting stuck for a couple of hours on the freeways during rush hour.

---
Online headline: "Should Dems denounce rioters?" -- "Should Dems denounce rioters?"? What kind of question is this.. The real question is "WILL the Dems denounce rioters?"

---
From the "way too much time on their hands: and the "look at me...I'm above it all" departments - Online headline: "'It's my body, and it should be my choice ...'*That's what J.Law famously said after nude photos from her phone were leaked by a hacker." -- You know.. what possesses a person to take "selfies" of them selves nude on an electronic device they know floats the data through the air for other people to pluck it out? Though Shakespeare's misquoted line of "Frailty, thy name is woman" has gravitated to "Vanity, thy name is woman".. there's probably more truth in the latter than former.

Online story: "Georgia Right to Life has just become the first major conservative group in the state to look at Donald Trump and give him a big “thanks, but no thanks.” *  Georgia Right to Life (GRTL) PAC today announced its endorsement of Constitution Party candidate Darrell Castle for President. * “America is in political and moral freefall,” said GRTL PAC Director Gen Wilson. “We need someone who understands our founding principles and truly respects the immeasurable value of human life. Darrell Castle is that person.” -- Good grief.. when are Republicans going to realize that the abortion issue is women/couples and their relationship with God... and not a legislative issue? I'm pro-life, but realize that we cannot return to the era of "back alley, rusty coathanger abortions"! Not all terminations are forms of birth control and criminalizing all estranges even the most moral of people. Sure, the "partial birth abortions" are  horror stories, and I really can't imagine the worth of a medical person sworn to "first, do no harm" to perform one under any condition, but God gave us "free will" and the ability to make our choices, but He is also  merciful  and full of grace, and forgives us when we go to Him in a penitent way.

You know.. when I hear Hillary ranting and denouncing Trump with a microphone in her hand, I get a flashback to the days of Russian Premier Nikita Khrushchev banging his shoe at the UN..

---
Who should you be willing to  trust more..Trump who speaks openly (though often "unfiltered"), or Hillary who doesn't? In my book, I'd rather support person who speaks the truth, and from his/her heart and gets issues out front than one who speaks trying not to offend anyone?

---
L-E headline: "Couple in Tax Time case each found guilty on two charges" -- Good grief.. is our DA's office so bad at presenting evidence or has the jury system simply failed?

---
L-E headline: "How to get out of jury duty" -- Good grief.. one page beyond the above item is this headline.. yes, the jury system seems to be the issue... I guess if the DA's office takes "too long" getting through the evidence, juries revolt on them. I've lived in two counties in my whole life.. about 6 in Hat=rris County and the other 63 in Muscogee County.. During those 6 years in Harris county, I got two jury calls and answered then both but did not serve on any. In the 63 years (well 45 years of being old enough to serve on a jury), i've only received 2 jury calls (and one Grand Jury call), and have served gladly in two trials.  I think our community would be better served if citizens not willing to serve to the best of their ability for the good of the community should be able to ask to be removed from the jury pool altogether. Our community deserves better than jurors not interested in making us a better ... and safer community.

Had an interesting conversation with a L-E reporter yesterday.. I had a request to speak about some history of shopping centers in Columbus due to my family's 117 year history of retailing in Columbus. Sat down with Alva James-Johnson for about a hour yesterday talking about changes over the past 50 years or so in the movement of shopping patterns.. basically the shift from Columbus Square-to-Peachtree Mall-to Columbus Park Crossing.. She's a smart woman,, originally from Brooklyn but has live in a variety of places over her career.. hopefully, she's found a home in Columbus.

---
Also had an interesting lunch conversation with our recently elected Councilor.. There's good news to eport, too. He said all the spending from the "Fund Balance" has been removed so far.. let's hope the final budget reflects this and the Fund Balance can be rebuilt so our future bond issues are brought in at the lowest interest rates ever.

L-E headline: "Actress aims to inspire with gender-neutral line of children’s clothes" -- Good grief.. who wants to dress up their adorable child in clothing that scream sameness... or nothingness? I'll be damned if my cute granddaughter is stripped of her identity by some idiot actress.

---
L-E story: "   The presidential race shifted to the nation’s capital Friday, with Democrats executing a carefully orchestrated plan to unify their party around presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton." -- Good grief.. whatta revelation.. the "party of unity" disheveled by Bernie and Hillary actually revealing how non-inclusive the actual Democratic Party is.

---
L-E commentary: "So just how much would Trump’s border wall cost? * BY JOHN A. TURES" -- Good grief.. to begin with, Tures is only and "associate professor of political science" and you wonder why the L-E doesn't get the opinion of somebody who's achieved a top level position, but the L-E wants it's point of view rather than reality presented.. The real question is "how much will Trump's wall SAVE!".

From the "you gotta be kidding...right?" department - HuffPOOPOO headline: "Sweden’s solidarity is needed on the UN Security Council" -- Sweden is a member of the UN Security Council?

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Animals Have As Much Right To Live As Human Beings" -- Good grief.. human fetuses have no right to life, but libs rate animal life on an equal status with humans? Next we'll discover the Democrats are trying to register animals to vote.

---
Online headline: "Emails in Clinton probe dealt with planned drone strikes" -- Hmmm... so Hillary did know where Bill was during his "bimbo eruptions".

---
Good grief..Yale English major students want to control their own curriculum... can't you see it now... Texting101, Advanced Twitter, Finite Facebook, and doctorates in Marvel Comics.

---
Online story: "A federal appeals court in San Francisco ruled Thursday that people do not have a Second Amendment right to carry concealed weapons in public, in a sweeping decision likely to be challenged by gun-rights advocates." -- You know.. I think we should help Moonbeam Brown buils his wall around California.. but let's not wait until after November...we need to complete it BEFORE the elections.

---
From the "just thinking about it makes me shudder" department: Think about where we'd be if we'd had ZERO-bama rather than George Washington as our FIRST President and Hillary, rather than Ben Franklin as our first ambassador?

---
Good grief..ZERO-bama whole-heartedly endorsed Hillary for president...no surprise, here, as I'm sure he wants someone following him that will "blame Bush" rather than him for the next couple of terms.

---
From the "Somebody's been reading my blog and listening" department - ..Fox News' Fox & Friends mentioned yesterday that so far, Hillary has 1,500,000 fewer votes than she got.in 2008, and over 7,000,000 fewer Democrats went to the primaries to vote at all..not exactly a groundswell endorsement..what'll be interesting is to know how many fewer women & minorities didn't bother to vote.

---
L-E headline: "Family Day moves to Woodruff Park * A crowd of 6,000 is expected at the free event Dillingham Street will be closed from 2 to 8 p.m. for the festival No grills, coolers or alcohol allowed" -- "6,000"? Does anyone remember only "6,000" at Cooper Creek?

---
Contender for "Best L-E Soundoff" of all time: " Both atheists and religious people believe in a supreme being. Religious people look up to heaven; the atheist looks into the mirror."  -- Succinctly well said.

---
L-E headline: "Cash flow no problem for St. Francis Hospital buyer *SEC filings show Tennessee firm had revenue of $6 billion in 2015 LifePoint CEO William Carpenter earned compensation package of $15.2 million last year" -- "compensation package of  $15.2 MILLION"?  Hmm.. or, in other words, he could donate his salary package for two years and the missing $30 MILLION at St Francis would be "found", and all could return to normal..

L-E healine/story: ":Councilor Judy Thomas makes things clear about fee increase * Councilor Judy Thomas makes things clear about fee increase * “If there is any issue that has been brought to my attention time and time and time again over this past year, it’s been over us changing the garbage pickup schedule and every time we increase the fee. I’m not proposing that we change the fee. I just want to make sure that everybody knows that this particular piece will increase the garbage from $15 to $17, and I don’t want anyone thinking that we’re trying to slide something through by not saying that out loud enough." -- Hmmm.. well, what "they" are "sliding through" is that this isn't a fee, but a non-deductible TAX! GA conditions of being a city require police. fire and garbage services to be covered by a taxing system.. not "fees".  Oh, just to be clear, dies Judy Thomas want to be clearer about her "sliding through" the non-name-designay=ted reserved parking spots in the Citizens' Service Center after she campaigned on having such designations removed prior to her last election?

From the "bet her daughter won't do that again" department - Online headline: "Police: Girl burned alive by mother in horrifying incident * A teenage girl in Pakistan was reportedly tied down and set on fire as punishment for disobeying her family's wishes." -- It's not one world...and this Sharia world does not belong in ours.

---
The GOP response to Trump's remarks about that judge demonstrate how the Re[ublican Party has become so out of touch.. it has become "trans-agenda-ed". Political correctness has reduced the GOP's manhood.. Sure the comments Trump made shouldn't have been during his campaign, but mealy-mouthed responses to the mainscream media bias have exacerbated the situation. The judge should have recused himself and kept court proceedings out of the media because of his political activism.

---
HuffPOOPOO "headlie": "Donald Trump’s Racism Actually Makes It Impossible For Him To Get The Working-Class Vote" -- Good grief//the HuffPOOPOO is being the racist by suggesting minorities in the "working-class" will vote against themselves getting out of poverty by voting against the one candidate that wants them to succeed.

Online headline/story: "Unofficial Business: Ga. Power scopes out new nuke, at our expense *  Some really great deals are only great if someone else pays for them. * The state’s largest power company has just such a deal for us. * Georgia Power insists it’s really important and prudent to spend nearly $175 million so the company can investigate building a nuclear plant on land it owns south of Columbus in Stewart County. Executives testified that the investment is “in the best interest of its customers.” * But that certainty magically evaporates if Georgia Power has to pay for the exploration itself." -- Well... sounds like somebody at the Atlanta J-C has been reading my blog...Everybody contact the PSC .. if GaPowCo says something is in someone's "best interests". it's in GaPowCo's best interest, not ours.

---
L-E headline: ":Attorney to challenge Ann Hardman for Superior Court clerk * Mike Garner to mount Independent bid Garner says Hardman lacks legal experience He needs 5,226 signatures to make ballot" -- Hold on to your seats.. I'm about to say that I am going to sign Mike Garner's petition! If there is one department in our city that actually needs a lawyer in charge, it's our Superior Clerk. Linda Pierce out maneuvered herself by trying to remain in the Democratic Party when Mayor TomLYINGson had it in for her. but we don't deserve instant chaos in this strategic office.

---
L-E headline/story: "'Thrive at Green Island’ senior living community planned on River Road *  An Atlanta-based senior living development firm said Wednesday it plans to construct a 70-unit community off River Road in north Columbus, with an opening targeted for late 2017. *  Thrive Senior Living will be working with Columbus-based Flournoy Development Co. on the project, which will be near the northwest corner of River and Mobley roads. Ground is expected to be broken on what will be called “Thrive at Green Island” before the end of this year." -- Well, hope "Thrive" has worked out permission with the Jordan Company to use "Green Island" in it's name, and has worked out a deal with CB&T to vacate its "northwest corner" at the Mobley/River Roads intersection. Hey I know.. maybe Mayor TomLYINGson can put in a "roundabout" to serve ambulances at "Thrive" and the "drive through lanes" at CB&T!

---
L-E headline: "Local schools mostly mum on transgender restrooms" -- Hmmm.. this is what happens when schools boards take God out of the schools.. mass confusion by 1% pf the people, and no one top stand up for the 99%.

A must read: Letter to the Columbus L-E by Bill Spiers in Ft Mitchell, AL concerning Froma Harrop's bombastic attempt at labeling the true working class citizens of America - "Class-action insult *
Froma Harrop’s article in the Sunday L-E is a provocative diatribe. Based upon her castigating others, and my opinion, she is an ill-informed pseudo-intellectual. I began as a private and retired as an Abn-Ranger Major, have a B.S. degree, farmed 1100 acres, and have been a real estate broker. Yet, she tabbed me and many others with four derogatory labels: (1) “sucker” conned by Trump because we “need to believe,” (2) “the little people” Trump suckers,
   (3) “chumps” who a “skilled con artist” can identify, and (4) “sap” to whom the “evidence doesn't matter.”
The facts are: *The Donald has had failures in his past. *He is far from being perfect. *His impressive, multiple successes, after getting up from some failures, speak highly of his abilities as a leader — a most important fact! *He has profoundly changed the dynamics of running to be the president of this nation.
*Trump has earned, as a Republican during a primary election, the support of more people than any other person in the history of this nation! I am one of the little people (61 inches tall) in political power (middle income bracket). One may purchase (label) me and my peers as chumps and saps, but one would be an infernal fool to sell us as such!
If my peers and I are saps, then please give us the correct labels to paste on those who are currently supporting: (1) A self-proclaimed democratic-socialist who has no logical plan to pay for the “freebies” he offers and
   (2) Another who is believed to be a liar, a crook, and one unable to lead this nation. I am seeking only facts!
Froma, you owe many “salt of the earth” intelligent patriots a sincere apology!
   – Bill Spies, Fort Mitchell
