Online story: "According to a new CBS News poll, 57% of Americans are now in favor of a federal ban on assault weapons like the one gunman Omar Mateen used to kill at least 49 at Orlando gay club Pulse on Sunday. *  When it comes to whether gun owners should be required to pass universal background checks, both Republicans (92%) and Democrats (97%) were overwhelmingly in favor." --  Let's face it.. even after an emotional event, and no screened process as to who was polled, no matter how you "figure" it, even 57% of states isn't enough to amend/repeal a Constitutional Article. What's wrong is that even government background checks of Muslims like the Orlando (_*_) by the FBI won't keep guns out of the hands of potential murderers as long as Political Correctness rules the results of those checks.

Online story: "Senate Democrats ended a nearly 15-hour filibuster early Thursday after Republican Party leaders reportedly agreed to allow votes on two proposed gun control measures. * Sen. Chris Murphy, a Democrat from Connecticut, said that a compromise had been reached * Votes would be held on whether to ban people on the government's terrorist watch list from obtaining gun licenses and whether to expand background checks to gun shows and internet sales" -- Good grief.. the only ones who don't know about the plethora of current background checks are people who haven't bought a gun, but no new law of any sort will change things until: 1 - the FBI checks eliminate any Political Correctness (see item above), 2 - Courts add more death sentence mandates, including strict schedules to carry death sentence out, for people illegally possessing and using guns to commit a crime, and 3 - replacing RINO or liberal Senators like Murphey with Constitutional conservatives.

Online headline: "Obama reveals first place she'll go after White House" -- Good grief.. just go, already.. I'll let her know if I care where..

Online headline/story: "This $6 Supermarket Wine Was Just Named One of the Best in the World  *  La Moneda Reserva Malbec—a Chilean wine sold exclusively at the British supermarket chain Asda, a subsidiary of Walmart, no less—beat out around 16,000 other entries from around the globe in a blind taste test to take home the prestigious honor of best single-varietal red under £15, according to the Independent. The bottle typically retails for just £5.75, but has recently been on “rollback” pricing for just £4.37 or the equivalent of about $6.29. No wonder that Walmart smiley face is so damn happy." -- Good grief.. the super-elite libs.. the wine drinkers. may just do what unions haven't been able to do.. shut down Walmart.. no self-elevating snob would ever admit to drinking wine that cost $6.29 a pop, and they certainly don't want blue collar workers buying and drinking better wine than they do.

A two year old toddler was grabbed by an alligator at a Disney resort hotel in Orlando. At this point, 5 alligators have been captured and euthanized(*) in the search.. I want those (_*_) protesters concerned about the shooting of the gorilla to save a child at the Cincinnati Zoo to please offer insight to the parents and family of the Orlando toddler as to why they feel animals are more sacred than children.

(*) - euthanized was the word used by officials, but euthanized is actually an humane manner to put a health failing animal so "sleep".

---
You know.. if 5alligators can be "euthanized" efficiently and quickly within 24 hours, why don't other states import Florida Wildlife personnel in to carry out death sentences for convicted murderers?

L-E headline: "Latest school board meeting proof of high stakes in July 26 runoffs * Monday’s called meeting of Muscogee County School Board, when tentative budget was rejected, showed why balance of power is up for grabs *Winners of District 1 and District 7 seats to determine whether Frank Myers’ anti-establishment coalition gains more votes * BY Mark Rice" --  Good grief...Mark Rice should be chastised for pushing an agenda promoted by Lewis and Varner. This election is not about Frank Myers...it's about improving the students chances to lead productive lives after they graduate.

Online headline/story: "Stolen DNC files on Trump leaked * More than 200 pages of what appears to be the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) opposition research on Donald Trump was leaked, first to The Smoking Gun and then Gawker Wednesday, after Russian government hackers reportedly infiltrated the DNC’s computer networks. * The document, titled “Donald Trump Report,” includes an attack on the presumptive Republican presidential nominee’s character and record, and hundreds of pages describing instances of Trump changing his stance or saying something false or inflammatory.  * Trump’s marriages are also covered extensively, according" --  Good grief.. is this what's important to the DNC? Tell you what, I'd rather  see what the hackers found in the DNC's files on what they are trying to cover up about Hillary.

Online story: "Atlanta Democrat John Lewis would be blocked from receiving a U.S. naval ship namesake under a bill introduced in the U.S. House yesterday. * Sponsored by Mississippi Republican Steven Palazzo, the legislation would bar the Navy from naming vessels after lawmakers who have not served as president or in the military. Lewis, a longtime member of Congress who is the last surviving member of the so-called “big six” leaders of the civil rights era, would not be eligible for the honor under that criteria." -- How novel.. only naming a naval ship after someone who has actually served in our military (in a division of naval service would be even better) or has been a president/commander-in-chief of America... why is this even an issue?

L-E headline/story: "W.C. Bradley, Char-Broil counter-sue rival over three-legged kettle grill *  W.C. Bradley, in its suit, also charges that Weber is attempting to monopolize the market for three-legged kettle grills because of the less expensive manufacturing process." -- "because of the less expensive manufacturing process"? You know.. I'd choose such a grill based on which made a "safer" rather than less costly version.. preferably one with 4 or more legs for better stability or one with a wheeled base for maneuverability.. Golden Foundry's Cast Iron cooker gets my vote.

Insightful L-E "soundoff": "   All Americans have a right to be free. They do not have a right to have everything free." -- Obviously not a Democratic Party politician making a campaign promise for re-election...

L-E headline/story: "Correctional officer faces multiple charges after 4 inmates wander off during work detail *
Quinton Hayes, who has since resigned from his position with the Rainwater Division, pleaded not guilty to one count of aiding or permitting another to escape lawful custody, reckless conduct , violation of oath by public officer and false statements and writings. * ( special agent with the Georgia Department of Corrections Criminal Investigations Division, Chris ) Samra said records show Hayes’ employer wrote him up several times for not keeping an eye on inmates who would then wander off." -- God grief.. and government wants to be responsible for background checks for guns and vetting Muslim refugees?

According to a L-E story. another baseball oriented movie will be filmed at historic Luther Williams Field in Macon.. past films include “The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings, “42” and “Trouble with the Curve.” This new one, "Brockmire" will generate $28,000 in fees over about 3 or 4 weeks.. Hmmm.. our Golden Park hasn't generated that much in fees in several years. and no longer can really be considered "historic" since those awful "sky boxes" were added during the Olympic softball days.
