Spectrum needs to be hit with a CLASS ACTION Law Suit.. for FALSE ADVERTISING! In January of 2017, I switched from WOW to Spectrum based on Spectrum's "promise" of a 2 year package agreement that my rates would stay the same.. After box charges and fees, my bundled package came to $122.XX a month... 2 months later, Spectrum took the "Golf Channel" out and said it would be an additional $12.00 a month.. I told them , "No", the networks carry it on Saturdays and Sundays.. a couple of months later, my bill went to $126.XX a month as Spectrum add another dollar (times 4 boxes) to our bill.. toay, I received our next auto-pay bill, and it's now $132.XX.. It's not so much the increase amounts, but the fact that I was told my bill would be the same for 2 years.. I am so cutting the cable..SPECTRUM...out this Fall..as soon as I can get my best setup of digital antenna and streaming services along with a reliable WiFi provider.

Just look at shopping areas.. people walk across the drive areas and step off curbs without bothering to look in either direction.. and then there's the Veterans Parkway... especially at the section south of the River Road intersection.. people... sometimes with toddlers in tow, leave Wilson Homes, cross over the railroad tracks, then walk straight across to either the liquor store or Family Dollar Store and back.. Seriously. there needs to be some sort of barrier fence erected to guide foot traffic to the intersection crosswalk..

It happened... as predicted, a Democrat took the first spot in the California primary for governor, but former San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsome only garnered 33% of the vote.. the surprise is that Republican John Cox came in second with 26%, nearly doubling the votes of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.. In a nut shell. Cox being on the ballot will insure Republican interest in the November races.

 

Other California primary results of interest are:

 

Diane Feinstein won.. but with only 44% of the vote

Nancy Pelosi won District 12.. with 68% .. but she will have a Republican challenger

Maxine Waters won District 43 with 71% and she will have a Republican opponent who actually LIVES IN the district.

And in District 22, voters rewarded Republican Devin Nunes with 58% of the votes, Of note is the DIMocrats really wanted to make an example of Nunes because of his strong Trump support... sorry folks.. didn't happen.

 

Of real importance in California.. Republicans had more voters in over half of the counties.

My bride runs the crafts portion of the VBS at First Baptist here in Columbus... one craft this year is each child making a place mat to take home to remind them of God's Providence. She decided to give them old vinyl records to use as the base.. She bought a 100 from the Salvation Army thrift store.. There were some classic albums as well as little known artists, but two really caught my eye... mainly because I was surprised someone actually bought them, listened to them and donated them to the Salvation Army..Surprise number 1 was "Bavarian Yodeling Songs and Polkas".. but the second one really threw me... "Hit Songs of the 17th Century".. I really wished I had a record player to listen to that one.. well, not really.

 

Oh,, to explain the 33.3 LP Vinyl records the kids were mystified with I explained to them that these were the "CDs" of their grandparents.. They all understood then..

The L-E published the MCSD 2018-2019 Fiscal budget proposal today - Hmmm.. did you notice how the MCSD budget "only" planned on $33.5 MILLION in its E-SPLOST revenues... while Mayor Tom-LYING-son feels the two City LOSTS will bring in over $71,000,000? Like I said, the Council should rip up Mayor Tom-LYING-son's 2019 budget proposal BEFORE the next Mayor has to dig deeper into the Fund Balanced.

 

Now, since the MCSD/MCSB KNOWS that only $33.5 Million in SPLOST revenues will actually come in (yet put in an average of $38.4 Million per year in the 2015 E-SPLOST projects list), isn't it time for our legislators to make an addendum to the SPLOST/LOST laws... something that will prohibit plans that are more than the average 5 year collection during previous SPLOSTs?

From the n"do you think anyone has really thought this trough" department - Online story: "Waymo, the driverless technology company spun out of Google, has agreed to purchase as many as 62,000 minivans from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles for use in a ride-hailing service set to begin commercial operations later this year." -- Uber, LYFT, and now Waymo.. along with Google's street mapping vehicles.. question.. what's going to happen when all these driverless vehicles hit the "used cars" market..
