Online headline: "A Call to End Gun Violence in America" -- Hmmm, how about if pot-US Obluster starts with his hometown of Chicago, then Washington, DC, and if he has great results, the rest of the country might listen.
---
Online story: "WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration says the Syrian government is continuing to fire Scud missiles at rebels and regime opponents as they make territorial gains." -- " fire Scud missiles " Sorta like what pot-US Obluster did in 2008 & 2012...fired "Stupid, Co-dependent Uninformed Dumberats" missiles into our polling places.
---
Online story: "White House press secretary Jay Carney said in a statement that Obama's priority remains "to ensure that taxes don’t go up on 98 percent of Americans and 97 percent of small businesses in just a few short days." -- What he didn't say is that pot-US Obluster could insure that 100% of taxpayers wouldn't see there income taxes go up if he signed an extension to the current laws, nor that pot-US Obluster has already signed a bill, Obamacare, that already has insured taxes are going up on 100% of the taxpayers on Jan 1st.
---
Online headline: "Hillary Clinton Absent As State Department Grapples With Benghazi Report" -- First, she shouldn't be allowed to enter into discussing or trying to solve the problems because of 'her concussion' UNTIL she's recovered enough to testify on the Congressional hearings, and secondly, she's probably baking holiday cookies to establish her credibility when she testifies in Congress.
---
Online story: "In one of his last interviews before leaving Congress, Rep. Barney Frank gave a preview of the kind of no-holds-barred pundit he will be as he moves on to write books and become a TV commentator. The retiring 16-term openly gay Massachusetts Democrat called for the legalization of prostitution," -- "legalization of prostitution"? Congress already did that when it didn't censor and remove him from office when his boyfriend was running a prostitution business from Frank's home.
---
Online story: "WASHINGTON -- With an atypical audience – members of Congress – actor and director Ben Affleck read from a script with a pointed message: A desperate humanitarian situation in Congo requires a stronger display of U.S. leadership, and it will get worse without one." -- Why would Congress give Ben Affleck the time of day? If Afflect wants to get on his soapbox, do it at a Hollywood fundraiser for DUMBERat candidates who will listen to anybody who wants to give them big checks.
---
Online headline: "Benghazi Report: State Department Vows Reforms, Seeks Billions In Funds After Libya Report" -- "seeks billions"? The State Deparment OWES us apologies and should be required to pay back all the funds provided it to the US taxpayers, then shut down!
---
With all that has been revealed about the State Department's handling of Benghazi, the American Ambassadors Union should go on strike until they get safer working conditions.
---
WRBL3 story: "Police in Huntsville say customers seeking a popular brand of shoes became unruly when they lined up at a mall, and pepper spray was used in an attempt to restore order. * Police say officers sprayed pepper spray in the general direction of the crowd, but did not use the chemical on people in line Thursday morning. * A Huntsville television station reports that around 100 people were in line to get a new type of Air Jordan shoes which retail for about $185. Police said the shoes weren't being released; people were waiting in line to receive one of 36 bands to get them at a later date." -- Hmmm, I didn't know FootLocker accepted government EBT cards...
---
Those new GA license plates are getting even uglier as I see more of them. The tags we've had for the past 15 years or so are still fresh and nice looking. The new plates must have been designed by the company that designed the Oregon Ducks' football uniforms.
---
How can a parent admit a child who's reached 18 into a mental facility? Without the child giving written permission or it being court ordered, parents are helpless. The laws we have on medical privacy do not allow a doctor to talk to the parents about treatments of a 18+ child as it is unless the 18+ child agrees to it. Liberal laws are biting us on the butt.
---
Why is the "acting" head of the IRS making claims that if there's not an extension on the current tax laws that people will be delayed on reporting their 2012 tax forms? Don't 2012 income laws come under the current laws, and only next year's income would be effected if an agreement is signed? Is mainstream media as stupid as it seems on this issue? Oh, I can answer that....
---
Sgt. Schultz must work on the 7th floor of the State Department, because no one past the 6th floor will answer anything but "I know nothing!"
---
Within two years, (there will be, basically another sales tax). You will be paying a 7% "title tax" when you buy either a new OR used car in GA. This is in addition to the soon to be 5% state sales tax plus 3% local sales tax plus various out-of-your-pocket 'fees'.
---
L-E story: "Former Shaw star Edwin Jackson completed a four-year, $52-million contract with the Chicago Cubs on Thursday. * Last season, he went 10-11 with a 4.03 ERA for the Nationals to earn his new contract. Over the course of his career, he is 70-71 with a 4.40 ERA. He has had stints with the Dodgers, Rays, Tigers, White Sox, Diamondbacks, Cardinals and Nationals. He was a member of the Blue Jays for less than a day" -- With an overall losing record, $13 M must be the new minimum contract in MLB. Imagine what Gene Chizik would get if he landed a MLB coaches job!
---
L-E picture with special "Shop with a Cop" story:
J____ M_____, 5, holds a ceramic pig dressed
dressed like a police officer he picked out for his
brother. -- Hmmm . a subliminal "thank you"? Surely the L-E could have been more sensitive to the good work our officers are doing.
---
From L-E editorial: "Housing Authority Executive Director Len Williams announced Wednesday that the Department of Housing and Urban Development had designated the local agency only the second “Moving to Work” authority in Georgia. Only 39 housing authorities nationwide have been so designated, out of more than 3,000 in the country. The HUD program allows more local latitude on federal regulations regarding things like income restrictions, vouchers and rent incentives. Ideally, the program will not only help tenants, but will cut local administrative costs in the process." -- "ideally, the program will not only help tenants, but will cut local administrative costs in the process"? Name me one government program that can be an example of a government program working "ideally'! Now, if any one aspect of the desired results happen "ideally", it will be something that has never occurred in the past, so we could deem that a success if it happens. Of course, there is plenty to lose as well; we could be permanently paying for jobs that will never end trying to accomplish something the government has never achieved... success.
---
An appropriate sentence for Harvey Updyke would be for him to be buried up to his neck at Toomer's Cprner so there would be something for Auburn fans to TP following the games. Just make sure the TP is "used". Oh, amd pray Auburn wins a few games next year so there'd be a festive reason to celebrate.
---
L-E headline: "AUBURN TREES POISONED * Attorney says ‘Bama’ fan competent to stand trial" -- "Attorney says "Bama' fan competent"... hmmm there's a good joke in there but I'm gonna let you think of your own punch line.
---
I'm not a particular fan of Tom Cruise (other than "Risky Business" when he was sorta fresh and acted his age), but I wonder if the 1/2 Star given for his latest movie was given because of the recent real life massacre/violence.
---
You know, it's not a real good college basketball season if UNC, Duke, and Kentucky all occupy the #1 rating sometime during the regular season.
---
L-E story: "PHILADELPHIA — When it comes to making coins, the Mint isn’t getting its two cents worth. In some cases, it doesn’t even get half of that. * A penny costs more than two cents and a nickel costs more than 11 cents to make and distribute." -- Well, that actually makes "cents"... with the current rate of inflation, it costs 11 cents to get a nickel's worth of anything, and a penny for your thoughts isn't worth 2 cents from your politicians.

Online headline: "Sam Donaldson Arrested For DUI" -- Hmmm "DUMBERat, Upset & Irate"? "Dumb Useless Informant"? "Dumberat Under Informed"?
---

Online story: "Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced -- via Facebook, of course -- that he and his wife, Priscilla Chan, have donated 18 million Facebook shares to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, a non-profit organization that works with philanthropists to manage their donations. * With Facebook stock worth around $27 a share at the time of this post, Zuckerberg and Chan's donation is worth just south of $500 million, making it his largest charitable donation yet. Zuckerberg said in his Facebook post that they plan to look for "areas in education and health to focus on next." * As Zuckerberg noted in his Facebook status update -- which had been "liked" by 27,588 people just 18 minutes after it was published -- he and Chan signed the Gates and Buffett-endorsed Giving Pledge in 2010, signaling their commitment to donating a majority of their wealth to philanthropic efforts." -- Hmmm all that talk by Buffett about not paying enough in taxes, BUT he and his super-wealthy buds have opted to make tax deductible donations versus "donating" it as volunteer extra taxes to the US Treasury Department...

---

Online headline: "Obama: NRA Could Use Some 'Self-Reflection'" -- So could pot-US Obluster!

---

Online story: "WASHINGTON -- A bill moving the District of Columbia toward statehood has been introduced in the Senate. * On Wednesday, retiring Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.), and Sens. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), Patty Murray (D-Wash.) and Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), introduced the bill, which would allow D.C. voters to "endorse" statehood. " -- Run, do not walk to your phones, computers, even to your nearest pen & paper, and fire off your protest as fast and as often as you can to Chambliss, Isakson, Westmoreland and Bishop! Sorry about y'all having to write Bishop for a lost cause. q;-(

---

Time Magazine had named pot-US Obluster as person of the year because... because he reached the under-informed, the slacker voter and got them to re-elect him. No wonder mental illness is such a low priority for DUMBERats, they don't want to cure their voter base.
---

I am fed up with the media hysteria in Newtown, Connecticut. The children and some valiant teachers are dead as is the psycho responsible, and the media and government people think it's important to nail down the psycho's "motive". Don't they think there are more important things and ways to spend their time and our money?

---

Online story: "NEW YORK — NBC was able to keep the abduction of chief Middle East correspondent Richard Engel in Syria largely a secret until he escaped late Monday because it persuaded some of this country's most prominent news organizations to hold back on the story." -- Collusion... plain and simple collusion, and the FCC should come down hard on NBC and any other media sources that participated in not reporting pertinent news. Really makes you wonder how the mainstream media all reacted the same when not reporting pertinent information about the personal life of pot-US Obluster for the last 6 years. On second thought... I really don't wonder at all.

---

Let's not forget how CNN ignored stories of torture and pother inhumanities of Saddam Hussein so the CNN staff in Baghdad would not be cut from Hussein's party A-list.

---

Online story: "Despite sharing 98 percent of our DNA with chimpanzees, humans have much bigger brains and are, as a species, much more intelligent. Now a new study sheds light on why: Unlike chimps, humans undergo a massive explosion in white matter growth, or the connections between brain cells, in the first two years of life. * However, a U.S. moratorium on acquiring new chimpanzees for medical research meant that people like Sherwood, who is trying to understand chimpanzee brain development, had to study decades-old baby chimpanzee brains that were lying around in veterinary pathologists' labs, Sherwood told LiveScience * But in Japan, those limitations didn't go into place till later, allowing the researchers to do live magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) brain scans of three baby chimps as they grew to 6 years of age. " -- Liberals can't do anything right! Guess they are afraid that if we still used baby chimps for research, we would find out that liberal brains stay the same as the chimps versus non-liberals' brains growing bigger and better.
---
"Plan B".....This reminds me of some 1950's low budget sci-Fi movie, but the actors in that movie were more credible
---
From a fellow BCer: Plan B

---
Online story: "SALT LAKE CITY -- Anxious parents are driving up sales of armored backpacks for children in the wake of the Connecticut school shooting." -- Excuse me, but how many children were wearing a backpack when they were shot in Connecticut?
---
The State Department is blasting back at Former Ambassador John Bolten's claim that the Clinton 'concussion' was basically BS. Regardless, Congress should step in and say that until Hillary is capable to and compliant with the order to testify, she is relieved from engaging in any representation of America's interests, here or abroad.
---
Online story: "WASHINGTON (AP) — An administration official says the chief of the State Department's security service, one of his deputies and an official from the agency's Middle East bureau have resigned after a damning report that found systematic management failures responsible for a lack of security at the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya." -- Hmmm, and what about the persons in charge of these people?
---
WRBL3 news story: "The community of Albany is the most generous in the state of Georgia, according to a report from a national philanthropy journal." -- Hmmm, Albany must be counting all of Sanford Bishop's grants as Bishop's own personal gifts. Bishop always seems to make that the case when he presents his earmark checks.
---
So appointing Bleep VeeP "don't mess with Joe" Biden has feds feeling like the problem of the mentally ill causing havoc in the USA is now under control. Hmmm, sounds just like what pot- US told us Joe would do about controlling the bail-out problem.
---
So the Mayor Obamlinson wants to save money by eliminating garbage pick ups, but she can send 4 people out to change a sign. I kid you not. At a side street off River Road near Clearview BarBQ, a work truck was backed up to a sign post. One guy was sitting on the truck screwing a nut onto a bolt holding the sign while 3, not 1, not 2, but 3 men all had 1 hand each on the sign pole to steady it for the guy actually working. Whew, I thought, glad they weren't sent to change a light bulb as they would have needed one more man to help turn the ladder.
---
Online story: "A day after two bank robbers escaped from a high-security high-rise lockup in downtown Chicago, the FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the capture of Joseph "Jose" Banks and Kenneth Conley. " -- Hmmm, I'm sorta hoping the two bank robbers don't get caught... Hmmm, you think... well, if they don't get caught, taxpayers save the $50,000,00 reward money, the annual boarding expense, and the continuous legal bills we are paying their appeals lawyers. Besides, there's a good chance one or both will kill the other for the hidden cache of cash that hasn't been recovered.
---
L-E headline/story: "Semifinalist for Muscogee schools top job identified * Reached by phone in her Indiana office, (Karyle) Green agreed to talk only briefly when asked why she wants to be superintendent of Muscogee County’s 32,000-student district. * “I think that the Muscogee County School District has some amazing things happening,” she said. “It is a wonderful community." -- Hmmm, The MCSD Board SHOULD write this one off already... she spells her name phonetically, and either she's a brown-noser or she has no knowledge of the chaos within the system.
---
From the "wish I could claim this is my own comment" department, a non-liberal's L-E "soundoff": "Right on cue. The liberal talking points are to ban guns and video games. Why is it we don’t hear mention of rap music? " -- Right on!
--
Liberal's L-E "soundoff": "If you armed the teachers, we’d have more dead teachers. Statistics prove citizens armed in situations such as those typically end up dead." -- Once again, another lib pulling 'facts' out of the air trying to make a point, but the truth is that the psycho shooter would at minimum have has to take aim at someone shooting back than aiming at a group of 6 & 7 year olds.
---
Another liberal's L-E "soundoff": "No one should own an assault rifle except military and law enforcement. Our gun laws are insane. " -- And the blind shall lead the blind. It's not about lawful ownership and use of weapons that cause this, and if you take the guns from the lawful, psychos and malcontents would still get their hands on an illegal one, and there would be fewer citizens around ton protect each other until the police finally arrive.
---
Has any one heard the latest guess-timate for completion of the Whitewater project? When it was first started as an effort to restore the Chattahoochee, the cost was projected to be around $2 million to basically re=move the dams and let the river flow naturally. Sometime after that commercial sugar-plums started dancing above people's heads. The last cost guess-timate I heard was up into the mid-$20 millions, but that was months ago, and now no one is reporting costs incurrent stories. I think I may start a pool on the final costs.
---
L-E story: " WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama called the Army secretary to express concerns over arrests and the discovery of problems with background checks at an Army day care center and to urge a speedy investigation, U.S. officials said Wednesday. " -- Hmmm, guess pot-US Obluster will do anything to divert any look-see into Benghazi-gate.
---
L-E headline: "Shattered Newtown tries to make sense of tragedy " -- Good grief! Anyone who looks to find, much less finds, "sense" needs to be arrested and permanently assigned to a mental facility!
---
There's a letter in the L-E,(and whether accurate or not, I do sympathize with the writer) that his brother committed suicide with a gun he bought that same day, and the writer expressed wished there had been a 10 day waiting period. Unless someone has a 'carry permit' (which can take a couple of months or more for a new applicant) there is a waiting period of 7 days to purchase a handgun. That doesn't change the loss to the writer, but facts must be factual.
---
l-E story: "A bloodied man dressed as a woman was found dead early Tuesday at 507 28th Ave., Columbus police said. * Officers first thought the person was a woman lying along the curb on the west side of the road but later learned the person was a man. " -- Hmmm.... you know, I'm proud that was figured out here without having to send the body to be autopsied.
---
It's amazing to see major used car dealer ads featuring 10 to 15 year old cars on their lots. Just a few years ago, these would have qualified for the 'cash for clunkers' program.
---
I've asked one of our legislative BCers to explain the new 'title tax' going into effect in March of 2013. Another BCer alerted me to it, but it appears to be a new (and higher) sales tax on new and used cars that will never go away.
---
L-E headline: "Atlanta wants to keep Suh away from QB Ryan " -- Well, give him a free vacation to New Orleans and let the Saints coaching staff that Suh is in town.
---
L-E headline/story: "U.S. prepares to sell General Motors stock * Taxpayers are sure to lose billions of dollars in the deal, even though GM has bounced back from the darkest days of 2008, when it almost ran out of cash." -- Well, then let taxpayers put the stock into Algore's "social security lockbox", and then vote for when it is sold.

HuffPost story: "White House spokesman Jay Carney says Obama would also support legislation to close the gun show "loophole," which allows people to buy guns from private dealers without background checks." -- Yeah! I'm for background checks for private dealers, too!

---

The Republican stance on abortion and other personal issues scare women voters away who prefer the conservative stance on tax and economic issues. Republicans can express/share their personal views even while defending the rights of others, but the Republican Party has got to rid itself of the 'we're gonna take away your choices by legislation' policy. Let God handle individuals in his inimitable manner.

---

Leon Panetta says Afghanistan is on the verge of forever ridding al Qaida from coming back in control...That will last until our troops are pulled, so until then, he's still offering the Brooklyn Bridge at a bargain price.

---

How does the media let pot-US Obluster tell the middle class workers that the bill being discussed is not a tax cut, but an extension of what has existed since 2003? If pot-US Obluster DOESN'T sign a bill before the end of December, pot-US Obluster will being getting the tax increase he really wants.
---
Did you hear that Russia & Venezuela have entered into an agreement to manufacture the Russian's AK-47 automatic weapons. pot-US Obluster, is this what you meant by being more flexible with Russia AFTER the election?
---
Guess we'll probably get a new tax to make up for Mexico buying AK-47s from Venezuela rather than the White House.
---
Boehner needs to be replaced now! What does he think he's gaining by challenging potUS Obluster to a game of chicken? Just pass a bill, make a very public display of delivering it to Reid in the Senate.
---
pot-US Obluster says raising the group he wants to tax more from $250K to $1M will cause too much hardship on the middle class... Huh? Wouldn't raising the taxes on incomes below $250K by NOT extending the Bush taxcuts cause "too much hardship" on the middle class regardless of raising the high end level of income?
---
Does it strike you funny that if the paper money supply was about to tank, then why are the gold sellers selling rather than buying it back. Why would the gold companies trade metal for paper at this stage if it's as urgent as they advertise?
---

Looks like Hurricanes Katrina and Sandy had one special common denominator..flooded yellow vehicles no one bothered to drive to a safe desitination.
---
An NBC reporter captured in Syria had been released unharmed. Guess the Syrians decided that it wasn't advantageous to have a media ally locked up.
---
Connecticut authorities are projecting it will take months to investigate the tragic crime committed in Newtown, Connecticut. "Months" to investigate an open and shut case of insanity of a dead guy? Looks more like typical government waste.
---
Even Fox News anchors are falling to the "compromise' figure countered by pot-US Obluster. What Fox News should be doing is challenging the ACLU to challenge the tax laws as being unconstitutional to differentiate tax rates based solely on income.
---
Another Fox News anchor called on all Marines to rally for the Marine held captive in a Mexican jail by calling/contacting their Congressperson. BS, Marines should rally and extricate their fellow Marine from Mexican terrorists.
---
David Axelrod sent a heart tugging message concerning the Sandy Hook school massacre. It moved me for a moment....until.... until I saw it was tagged to a pot-US Obluster political donation link. The dastards!
---
From my soapbox: Banning, even confiscating guns will not preclude another massacre from happening again. We have to work on media to stop being over-occupied with the bizarre/macabre events, and from glamorizing morbidity. We have to stop covering up tale-tell signs of mental-instabilities of students in.public institutions. We must not continue forcing under abilitied-students to migrate into normal society. We must insist death penalties be administered quickly when such events occur, regardless of mental capacity of the killer. Political correctness must be discontinued.
---
From a fellow BCer - the perfect gift for liberals.

---
Don't you love the support the mainstream media has given for the appointment of Tim Scott to fill the term opened by Senator Jim DeMint? Scott becomes the first black Senator from the South since the post-Civil War era. Guess being a conservative and a Republican means he's not black-enough for the media to get excited about.
---
L-E story: "The Muscogee County School District on Tuesday released information that provides further details about the employee who allegedly was driving a school district pickup truck that killed a pedestrian and sent another to the hospital Saturday. * According to authorities, Alfie Remone Johnson, 45, of Hilyer Drive, was driving a 2012 white Ford F-150 westbound on Steam Mill Road, near Peters Chapel AME Church, at 6:35 a.m. when the vehicle drifted onto the sidewalk and fatally struck Loretta Williams, 50, of Coronet Drive and injured Lin-da Estell, 63, of Kennedy Street. * Muscogee County School District communications director Valerie Fuller said Johnson has been a part-time security officer for the system since June 14 and was working a scheduled shift from midnight to 8 a.m. at the time of the accident, but his departure point and destination are unclear." -- What's not unclear is why the driver of the MCSD truck was out&about at 6:30 AM on a Saturday; what's truly clear is that when the Council spent money building sidewalks, Council did not install curbs along the routes that probably would have saved the woman's life from a vehicle 'drifting' onto the sidewalk.
---
If you want to see the most offensive sidewalk installation in the City, go look at the one installed on the north side of Mobley Road starting from Whitesville Road. Again, no curbs were built, so all the sidewalk has become is a traffic lane for the mail delivery trucks.
---
L-E headline: "ALABAMA FOOTBALL * Saban planning to stay at Alabama * Refutes speculation of NFL possibilities " -- Hmmm, of course if the Browns move and become the Birmingham Browns... Saban wouldn't technically be lying.
---
Today is Wednesday... Why do we spell it this way, or while I'm at it, why do we pronounce it this way? It reminds me of 'new math' and social promotions in school. where close, well, somewhat close, is "OK".

If Diane Feinstein wants to propose more anti-assault legislation, why doesn't she put up a law that bans government assault of taxpayer's wallets?
---

The day before the Connecticut school massacre, the Michigan legislature passed a "conceal carry" law for certain school personnel. Now the governor is wavering on signing it. Just think of the possibilities of outcome had a Sandy Hook teacher, trained and armed, could have made in keeping the psycho from getting off more than 100 shots and killing all those children and teachers.....

---

"Anonymous", a hacker group, has hacked into the personal computer records of the Westboro baptist church protesters after the hate-mongering, quasi-religious group announced plans to protest a Sunday night vigil for the children and teachers killed at Sandy Hook school. Personally, if that group needs to be 'hacked into", I sorta wish it would be by 'Jason', and 'Freddie Krueger'..... and a lawsuit by the national Baptist organizations for a cease and desist order for calling themselves a Baptist church and hiding behind God

---

A Fox contributor nailed it yesterday. He was adamant about the Hollywood lnfluence on death.. Hollywood should stop glamourising death and violence

---

Online headline: "Obama Makes Major 'Cliff' Concession" -- A concession that would work for me would be for him to jump off that cliff like a lemming so all the other DUMBERats would follow suit.

---

Online tidbit: Jeff Zucker, will take over CNN as its new CEO in January. Zucker said that he will "continue to broaden the definition of what news is" as the ailing cable network's new chief. -- "continue to broaden the definition of what news is"? The only definition media should follow regarding the 'news' is that it's 'truthful and honest'. Any other aspect is opinion or fiction.

---

Well, well, well... today we learn that in the last year, there have been marriage proposals made in the White House by a transgendered man and by a gay Marine captain. Sure would be nice if the only White House proposals were by the president on how to help America.

---

Online story: "WASHINGTON — For the first time, the Census Bureau is giving U.S. households a chance to respond to government surveys over the Internet, part of a bid to save costs and boost sagging response rates in a digital age." -- Question: Since everyone is required to have a social security number assigned at birth, wouldn't just simply canvassing computer files on hospital births, school registrations, W-2 and tax forms, government benefit checks, prison records, and death records give us a pretty accurate count of 'legal' residents?

---

HuffPost headline: "Haley Appoints Tea Party Favorite To Replace DeMint In Senate" -- Hmm, just because new Senator Tim Scott is not a DUMBERat, the HuffPost calls Tim Scott a 'Tea Party Favorite' instead of an black American. Just confirms my thought that pot-US Obluster could not have won if he was a Republican candidate.

---

Online story: PARIS — Gerard Depardieu, one of France's best-known actors, has chastised his country's Socialist prime minister for insulting remarks over his decision to move to tax-friendly Belgium and said in an open letter published Sunday that he's turning in his passport. * The letter, which the weekly Le Journal du Dimanche said was penned by Depardieu, quickly propelled him into the spotlight, not for his acclaimed acting skills but for raising the sensitive issue of tax exiles as France looks to fill state coffers with a stiff tax on the rich. * "We no longer have the same country. I'm a true European, a citizen of the world," Depardieu wrote in the letter. He said his 2012 tax bill – 85 percent of his revenue – is fully paid. * Depardieu, who turns 64 this month, said he has worked since the age of 14, first as a printer, and that in last 45 years he has paid (EURO)145 million ($190 million) in taxes." -- What's scary is who among the DUMBERat Party doesn't feel that Depardieu is being selfish about paying his "fair 85% share"? Are you 'listening' Buffet and Gates et al?

---

The Sandy Hook School massacre of children really has the liberals pulling their hair out. Usually they can point to something they can associate with a right wing conspiracy, but this time the shooter was a Goth son of liberal female gun-owning teacher, and there is just nothing they can point their fingers at Bush-Cheney about.

---

Let me get this straight...pot-US Obluster says we should ban something that's already banned (automatic weapons), yet sending automatic weapons to Mexico was OK.

---

Disgusted with the Sandy Hook massacre conversations on all the talk shows Sunday AM, I went to C-Span and found Mat Kibbe of FreedomWorks answering question about taxes and government spending. Kibbe wore the mind out of the moderator, and she was flustered because she was actually becoming won over by his answers.
---

On C-Span yesterday morning, the rep for the American Federation of Government Employees actually said the federal employees who have had their wages frozen for the past two years are the only group who have made sacrifices during the recession. What arrogance! Federal wages may have been frozen but so were their jobs!

---

Here we go again... Bills passed to fund Hurricane Sandy clean-up have money earmarks going to Alaska, Gitmo, Homeland Security, the Smithsonian, et al. We don't have a revenue problem, "they" have a spending addiction.

---
A US Marine is being held in a Mexican jail, and threats of killing him unless the family pays a ransom. Where the hell is our White House/Ambassador, DOJ, and Mexican government?

---

With Susan Rice thrown under the bus, so now Sen. John "I was for it before I was against it" Kerry, the guy that offered us John Edwards as a VP candidate is next in line as Secretary of State. Can you imagine how he will testify when the next Benghazi erupts?

---

L-E story: "A Muscogee school district worker in a district pickup truck traveled onto the sidewalk to fatally strike Loretta Williams and injure a second woman as they walked Saturday morning along Steam Mill Road, Columbus police reported Monday. * Investigators said the accident happened about 6:30 a.m." -- First, my prayers go out to the families of those run down. but I have three questions: Why was a MCSD employee up and about at 6:30 AM on a Saturday, why weren't the walkers walking facing traffic, and why is it Tuesday before the L-E reports it?

---

Examining the picture of the death scene above, it's obvious that if the sidewalks had been raised and a curb installed, the driver of the truck would have been alerted in time to steer back onto the road.

---

Obvious liberal's L-E "soundoff": "If the 48,000 people gunned down last year could speak to us, they would tell us we have too many guns." -- Here 'he' goes again... pulling undocumented figures out of the air to make his ignorance seem important.

---

the local DUMBERat Party chairman writes in the L-E: "If the Ledger-Enquirer feels it appropriate to regularly publish full-page editorials from self-serving interests, like Mr. Harper’s “blog,” then, in the name of fairness, how about a few words that represent the views of the vast majority of Americans, and, in the case of fiscal policy, common sense?" -- Obviously, 51% of presidential voters do not make a 'vast majority of Americans, but that's beside the point. The local DUMBERat Party has an oft published writer, Judy F Brouillette, and if what sees spews is good for America, then we have a bigger problem than the Washington DUMBERats. Additionally, Karl Douglass, a paid member of the Sanford Bishop re-election staff, is oft published as well.

Tougher ethics laws... you know, that is not the cure-all now or in the future... what we need is politicians with ethics, and voters that recognize them.

---

The Electoral College cast its vote yesterday and officially elected pot-US Obluster to a second term. With what has happened since the first of November, do you wonder if there were some voter regrets ?

---

Hmmm, did note this past Saturday that Carmike bought the old Rialto Theater property. I had suggested that Carmike consider buying the old Bradley to run art/cult movies aimed at the college crowd, and midnight openings for major biggie hits. The Rialto may/must be a better fit.

Online headline: "Dianne Feinstein To Introduce Assault Weapons Ban On First Day Of Congress" -- Brilliant.... NOT! as automatic assault weapons are ALREADY banned! Guess she didn't read that law either before she voted on it. What we need to ban is anti-profiling laws!

---

Online headline/story: "V__ I. M____ Arrested: Indiana School Threatened By Man Owning 47 Guns * M____, who was arrested Saturday on seven felony charges, then told his wife he would kill her "at the school" and "would kill as many people as he could before police could stop him police," (Interim Cedar Lake Police Chief Jerry) Smith said. -- AAAAAIIIIIIIYYYYY! I'm not even going to put his full name in this blog because what he seeks is media attention....him and every other budding psycho watching network and cable news/opinion shows! Just the sight and sounds of multiple anchors trying to out-grieve each other on air 24/7 following such tragedies has got to be reined in.

---

Online headline: "Obama To Visit Town Where Shooting Occurred" -- Boy, that'll bring the media out (as well as the psychos who'll watch and take notes). All the nation will find out is that when pot-US Obluster shows up at a disaster site, it's a media mega-photo-op, and, like Hurricane Sandy, nothing gets done.

---

Online headline: "Hillary Clinton Recovery: Secretary Of State At Home After Concussion" -- Well, let's make sure she doesn't represent our country again until she well enough to testify at the Benghazi hearings, first. We wouldn't want her answering the phone at 3:00 AM, would we?

---

It sure has been nice not to have to jump for the remote and mute the volume spikes for a TV ad like we use to.

---

The more I hear about what Boehner is offering, the more adamant I'm becoming that the Republicans need, repeat NEED, to do is replace him with Paul Ryan thus week!
---

Conversations about the multitude of school shootings should be stopped until all political correctness regarding profiling has been eliminated so police can operate efficiently and with pre-emptive actions.
---

Sunday morning TV show liberal spinmeisters are out saying the tax increases are needed to help pay for Social Security and Medicare. You know, if pot-US Obluster would put all the revenue from increased taxes into those two "lockboxes", I could listen to that.

---

Twenty 6 & 7 year olds were massacred, slaughtered. We pray for their families, but perhaps the greatest comfort is that we know there is a special place in heaven for the children et al, and a special place in Hell for the psycho. On the other hand, what comfort is there for atheists and agnostics?

---

Why is it that when states pass laws strengthening federal positions on voting and immigration, the DOJ jumps through the White House hoops to quash them, but when states legal illegal substances, the DOJ just yawns?

---

Liberal's repeat L-E "soundoff": "The average income of Georgians making above $250,000 is $635,630. Their Bush tax cut is $28,550. Those making less than $250,000 average $51,370, and their tax cut is $1,140. Do the math. " -- Like balloons, libs float figures into the air for other libs to marvel at. Unfortunately, libs like floating figures, and learned nothing in math or ethics classes.

---

L-E story: "ROME, Ga. — The state of Georgia said it is meeting federal requirements for new citizen identification cards. * States have until Jan. 15 to fulfill requirements for issuing a national ID. Requirements for individuals to actually carry the IDs don’t start phasing in until December 2014. * Susan Sport of the Department of Driver Services said the state is in compliance with the law, according to a story published Sunday in The Rome New-Tribune . * “And as long as the state is in compliance, our citizens’ licenses are still good on Jan. 15,” she said. * The Real ID Act was passed in 2005. Only people with verified identification will be able to fly, enter federal buildings or otherwise conduct business with the government." -- Doh? Then why the hell has the DOJ/White House declared war on states wanting to use photo-ID to vote? Isn't voting 'conducting business with the government"?

Online story: "WASHINGTON -- Signaling new movement in "fiscal cliff" talks, House Speaker John Boehner has proposed raising the top rate for earners making more than $1 million, a person familiar with the negotiations said. President Barack Obama, who wants higher top rates for households earning more than $250,000, has not accepted the offer, this person said * As part of a broader budget deal, Boehner is still seeking more spending cuts than Obama has proposed, particularly in mandatory health care spending. Boehner has asked for a long-term increase in eligibility age for Medicare and for lower costs-of-living adjustments for Social Security." -- Republicans need to replace Boehner now, not after the next Congress is seated! Boehner has backed himself into a corner where he's raising taxes AND pushing 'grandma' over the cliff!

---

Once again, if the ACLU has any use, any value, it must file a suit against Congress for failing to protect the interests of the taxpayers by not letting government punishing one segment of citizens for being successful. It's out-and-out class warfare.

---

Online headline: "Hillary Clinton Benghazi Testimony Postponed After Secretary Of State Sustains Concussion" -- Yeah, she bumped her head while baking cookies for Santa.

---

If the new military manuals are pointing out ways not to offend our Muslim 'friends' by avoiding issues like the Taliban and women's rights issues, why are we sending over female ambassadors/Secretary of State as government representatives?

---

To HELL with protocol in Connecticut! Release the children's bodies now so families can deal with reality as far from Christmas as they can. The only reason for delaying the process is for bureaucrats to "CYA" themselves.

---

Stupid, stupid TV commentators! They sit around all day talking about why there's such an influx of tragic shootings at schools without realizing that it's more than likely another psycho viewer is feeling he could get that same infamy for himself.

---

"Brilliant" analysts are saying the Connecticutt killer should have been in some sort of institution because now people are saying the psycho was weird. Like that's going to happen in our state of anti-stereotyping! We can't even let non-muslim, 90 year old wheelchair bound, diaper wearing grandmas or 4 year old children to be exempt from TSA friskings because we can't just pull bearded Jihadists aside and check'em out because they perfectly fit the profile of every other known terrorist.

---

Online headline: "Obama working to reduce deductions for charitable giving" -- Oh, pot-US Obluster has determined it's OK for him to force us to pay more in taxes so government can give aid to anyone government sees fit, but it's not OK for us to give to organizations that address the needs of the truly in need?

---

Online headline: "Barge Spills Fuel Oil Into NYC Waters" -- Whew! That'll probably help clean up the Hudson and East Riveres!

---

Online headline: "Mystery Of Mass Squid 'Suicides' Possibly Solved" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought Massachusetts voters had 'buyers' regrets' for the November elections.

---

Online story: "AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas put up $3 billion in taxpayer money and promised cancer breakthroughs. But a criminal investigation, widespread rebuke from scientists and the resignations of embattled state officials came faster than medical discoveries. * The Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas launched in 2009, flaunting the second-biggest trough of cancer research dollars in the country. Nobel laureates eagerly took jobs with the agency and celebrity Lance Armstrong lent visible and then-coveted support. It was an unprecedented state-run battle against a worldwide killer. * Three years later, it's become unhinged by suggestions of politics and personal profit and is on the ropes." -- Oh. NO, Mr Bill, uh, Governor Perry, don't tell us that people receiving government grants put themselves first over whatever the program is supposed to do! DOH!!!!

---

Online headline: "Obama Calls For More Action 'Regardless Of The Politics' After Tragedy" -- "action regardless of the politics'? DOH! The only 'action' IS politics!

---

Has the bowl schedule sunk in yet. Remember when the Big bowl games, the Cotton, Gator, Sugar, Orange and Rose Bowls were all played on Jan 1st? This year those games should be renamed the Cotton-Blend, the Crock, the Corn-Syrup, the Tang, and the Petunia Bowls.

---

Online headline: "Report: Kerry To Be Nominated For Secretary Of State" oh, going from a woman to a wimp will reinforce our allies' confidence, and send terrorists back into their caves?

---

Online headline: "NFL Teams Planning Tributes to Connecticut Victims" -- By doing what, locking up all the players except during games?

---

L-E headline/story: "Friday is last day to participate in Holiday Help * It’s the last week to help. * This Christmas season, Ledger-Enquirer readers have picked up more than 105 Holiday Help letters to assist those in need" -- Only the L-E would wrap up its 'help' before the weekend before Christmas. Charitable organizations worth supporting will be working straight through Christmas and (credit to Buzz Lightyear) "to infinity and beyond"!

---

Speaking of 'helping', is the Committee to End Homelessness (in 10 years) on schedule?

---

L-E story: "Starting this week anyone out on the Chattahoochee River between the North Highlands Dam and the Columbus Trade Center must wear a life vest or “personal flotation device.” -- Well, if the "Committee to Pave, uh, Save the Chattahoochee" has any say-so in this, the vests will be required to be made of concrete.

---

United Way.... I prefer direct donations to the entities you feel make the most difference in people's lives, but that's a choice we make, but two things that always escape being reported is about 15% of the UW pledges are never completed, and what are the salaries/expenses for the year round staff. If pledges from organizations are going to be reported so companies look 'participatory', then it should be reported when the pledges are not kept. Things have been tough for the past 4 years... how about reporting all the salaries and raises over the past 4 years or so.

---

L-E's "Thought for Today": “Somewhere in the world there is an epigram for every dilemma.” — Hendrik Willem Van Loon, Dutch-born journalist and lecturer (1882-1944). -- And if it's a government or military dilemma, there's an acronym for it as well.

---

L-E's "Late laughs": "SINCE JANUARY of 2000, NFL players have been arrested 624 times on different charges. In fact, the number one defense scheme now in the NFL — the plea bargain." - Jay Leno -- Well, if the NFL used instant replays with a substitute ref, the number of arrests would be 'zero'.

---

From L-E's "Looking Back" 50 years ago feature: "Has anybody got $8,000 to help prolong the lives of 13 Columbus victims of a progressive muscle-wasting disease? This is the sum needed to provide muscular dystrophy victims here with a year’s supply of the first-known drug to arrest the disease. " -- Even if you expanded the $8,000 into today's inflated dollars, that $8,000.00 would be like peeing into the ocean in today's healthcare costs.

---

Leonard Pitts is on Christmas vacation... I'm more than surprised that he owns up to Christmas, but it's really every reader who is benefiting from his vacation from his vitriol.

---

L-E story: "CAIRO — Polarized Egyptians voted Saturday on whether to accept a controversial, Islamist-backed constitution that, while expected to pass, only hardened divisions between those who believe ratifying the document will bring stability and those who think it will further divide an already fragile nation * Preliminary results released immediately after the polls closed showed that voters approved the constitution by 65 percent, according to parties supporting the constitution and monitors counting the vote." -- Hmmm, 2/3rds are supporting Muslim sharia law. Why are we, well, pot-US Obluster and Company supporting Egypt?

---

L-E "headlie": "Secretary of state faints, sustains concussion" -- Hmmm, the headline should really read, "Secretary of state FEINTS, sustains concussion".

---

L-E headline: "Jarvis Jones mulls whether to enter NFL draft or stay at UGA, graduate" -- Whatta choice..... "Class...or No Class"?

---

L-E headline: "DISNEY OPENS NEW FANTASYLAND" -- Hmmm, and the address must be 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Online headline: "School Shooting Suspect May Have Had Illness * The brother of the man who killed 26 kids and teachers at a Conn. school says the gunman may have had a 'personality disorder.' -- "may have had personality disorder"? Does the 'brilliant' media person get paid for this tripe? Of course the murderer had a 'personality disorder', as does the reporter.

---

Online story: "WASHINGTON -- New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg called on President Barack Obama to take “immediate action” following Friday’s mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., which reportedly left at least 27 dead, including 20 children." -- Bloombergh...whatta grandstanding (_@_)! Now Bloomberg is one of those even I'd have no sympathy for if potUS Obluster confiscated all his money, but potUS Obluster doesn't know how to command immediate action, much less attain it.

---

Online story: "President Barack Obama said prosecuting pot users in states that have legalized the drug won't be a top priority for his administration. * "We've got bigger fish to fry," Obama told ABC News' Barbara Walters. "It would not make sense for us to see a top priority as going after recreational users in states that have determined that it's legal." -- DOH? Since when has pot-US Obluster been worried about states' rights? He hasn't let states that want voters to have photo-ID's or stricter controls over illegal aliens do what they want, so why this and why now?

---

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R), whose name is often mentioned as a potential 2016 presidential candidate, penned an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal on Thursday that calls for contraception to be made available over-the-counter. * If women could buy birth control without a prescription, he argues, employers would not have to pay for it against their moral objections, and Democrats could no longer accuse Republicans of being anti-birth control." -- Key point here, "if women could buy birth control without a prescription" is what's wrong with this thinking. Obviously his own daughter is not a teenager...yet.

---

Non-union security workers (though fully supported by unions) at JFK Airport are threatening a strike just before Christmas. Well, I hope the NY Airport Authority fires and replaces them today (the National Guard should be willing and available to step into the job until more are qualified) .---

Can't you see the handwriting on the wall? The Garmin GPS is an inevitable corpse or the smartphone. Remember sliderules? Even the best sliderule fell prey to the hand calculator.

---

There's a new military handbook outlining how our soldiers should act as not to offend Afghanistan. Included are directives for our soldiers not to criticize the Taliban nor defend women's rights. Must be potUS Obluster executive orders, because surely no experienced military mind would endorse such.

Sesame Street is now teaching toddlers about "divorces". What Sesame Street needs to be 'divorcing' itself from "Elmo".

---

What do these dates have in common: Dec 14, 2012, Jul 20, 2012, Aug. 3, 2010, Nov 5, 2009, Apr 3. 2009, April 20 1999? These are the dates of the last 6 mass killings within the USA. For whatit's worth, note all occurred during DUMBERat administrations.

---

L-E headline: "With Rice, Obama saw a battle not worth fighting" -- Well, well, well... looks like it's OK with mainstream media for pot-US Obluster to throw women under the bus again since the election is over.

---
This never made it to the pages of the L-E, but I think even the L-E would actually have trouble printing what Robert F. Kennedy says. I originally ran it December 9, 2012, and will periodically to remind BCers worldwide how the DUMBERat Party thrives/survives on division:

Online headline: "RFK Jr: Fox News Has Divided Country In A Way Not Seen Since Civil War" -- Fox News? This coming from a DUMBERat who's party has given us affirmative action, political correctness, racist taxes on indoor tanning, the Congressional Black Caucus, historic black colleges with charity status, still allows black segregated beauty pageants and athletic events, and deems racism as a one way street. Fox News is the only TV network that discusses the such dividing factors, and from both sides.
