HuffPost headline: "Obama Hosts Indiana Mom Who Lost Legs In Twister In Oval Office" -- "Twister in Oval Office"? Typical potUS Arpege campaign strategy... playing games in the Oval Office.

---

Chief Justice John Roberts sided with the leftist wing of the Supreme Court on HELL-thSCARE. Wonder if Ginsburg, Breyer, Sotomayor, or Kagan agreed with Roberts that it is legal because it is a tax?

---

Information on the US Supreme Court obtained from www.factmonster.com:

Doesn't it strike you as strange, maybe even ironic, that the U.S. Supreme Court is made up of 6 Roman Catholics and 3 Jewish members? And when you think longer about that fact, do you realize that English is not the language of either of those religions, and

except for Justice Thomas from GA, the other 8 Justices are from either NY, NJ, or California. How can the Supreme Court be considered 'diverse' when only two religions and 3 states have any input? And law schools... all either attended Harvard or Yale

At least there aren't any members from Chicago or Reverend Jeremiah Wright's congregation.

---

When I left downtown yesterday evening, the temperature was 104, and reached 107 by the time I got to Bradley Park Drive. I was almost ready to admit it was hot.

---

On April 1st, I reported that I had used a single Schick Hydro 5 razor blade for the months of Jan, Feb, and Mar. I've used the next Schick Hydro 5 blade since then (Ap, May, Jun) and am going to use it until I get an uncomfortable shaving experience.

---

The latest from barackobama.com: "Yesterday I shared an emotional moment with Barack in the Oval Office after he learned health reform had been upheld. * Barack Obama is a man who refused to give up. No matter how politically unpopular it was, he knew it was the right thing to do." -- See! DIM&DUMBERats rejoice at raising your taxes!

---

The U.S. Supreme Court did not endorse the legality of potUS Arpege's HELL-thSCARE law; the Supreme Court just said it was OK for DIM&DUMBERat Congresspersons to raise our taxes.
---
Bet there are a lot of DIM&DUMBERat Congresspersons and Senators running for re-election who wish they hadn't expressed support for potUS Arpege when Joe Wilson, R-SC, yelled out "YOU LIE! at the state of the union speech following the unread passing of HELL-thSCARE. It is officially the largest tax raise ever!
---
It's not only a disappointment about Isaiah Crow-well, but it's also a shame another player was denied a spot, a scholarship that would have meant something.
---
The overall ranking of the MCSD CRCT scores was bad enough, but it is even worse that Dougherty County ranked higher.
---
L-E story: "The Little White House will hold a contest to find the person who looks the most like former President Franklin D. Roosevelt, There will be four age groups." -- Four age groups? What dead, deader, deadest, and lifeless?
---
Racist liberal's L-E "soundoff": "It’s not about race. I’m voting for President Obama because I’m sick of Romney’s lies." -- I'm sure, after listening to Romney, everything liberals were lied to about by potUS Arpege would be different sounding, and once a liberal believes another liberal, the truth does unravel his/her life.
---
L-E story: "WASHINGTON — The Justice Department declared Friday that Attorney General Eric Holder’s decision to withhold information about a bungled gun-tracking operation from Congress does not constitute a crime and he won’t be prosecuted for contempt of Congress. " -- Huh? Isn't this like the fox guarding the hen house being his own judge and jury... not to mention outright disrespect of Congress?
---
L-E headline: "Obama views fire damage in swing state Colorado " -- Huh? What'd he do, chant, "Burn. baby, burn!".
---
L-E headline: "MAN CITES BANISHMENT FROM COLUMBUS AS MAIN REASON FOR PLEA WITHDRAWAL " -- I certainly have not missed his rhetoric, his vulgarity, nor his littering on the streets of Columbus. Lets keep the status quo.
---
Excerpts from L-E story: "The 21-year-old Columbus woman feels uncomfortable when she thinks about all the things she possesses and other people around the world don’t. * She has been to places where basic toiletries are valued by residents like a local teen values a new smartphone. * She said it would be good for all young people to visit such a place. * “I think they would appreciate what they have a lot more,” she said. “At least, I hope they would.” * “I was working at a camp in the Ural Mountains,” she said. “It was a day camp. We would send the children back to their homes at night. One day, I woke up, early, around four in the morning, and went to an outhouse, There were children sleeping outside of the church waiting until the next day where we could have more camp. * When I asked why they didn’t go home to sleep in their beds, they said that going home meant facing drunken parents. * Many children spend most of their time on the streets. * There is a lot of substance abuse in Russian homes.” -- Why is it that liberals want the US to have less and be more like communist/dictator run counties, instead of being dedicated to trying to take the American way to those countries?

L-E "headlie": "SUPREME COURT VOTES TO UPHOLD HEALTH CARE LAW’S MANDATE" -- HELL-thSCARE is not a mandate...it's the largest tax increase in history. --- Our government, OUR government is advocating 'food stamp parties', and is advertising for such, to get more people, especially seniors, to apply for and use 'food stamps', to get 'the economy jump started'. How can any so-called intelligent person think that by basically raising the costs of food to those who aren't using 'food stamps' will boost the economy? The true effects of pushing the 'food stamp program' are to 'jump start' inflation, devaluing the dollar, and raising taxes on the personally accountable people. --- There's never any uproar over DIM&DUMBERats who announce they are going to 'cross the party line' and vote for contempt charges against Eric Holder. The reality is that those D&D's have shown America that the rest of the D&Ds support the 'party line' over obeying and supporting the laws of the land. --- The American Postal Workers Union (APWU) is actually advertising on TV for citizens to contact their Congresspersons to stop trying to make the USPS more efficient. The APWU would have a better argument, a better chance, if it ran its complaint campaign by efficiently delivering its plea of support to our front doors via the US mail. --- L-E headline: "Court overturns ‘Stolen Valor Act’ * Lies about medals still protected by First Amendment " -- Now here is where the Supreme Court really messed up yesterday. By making lying a freedom of speech covered issue, how will the Court ever contradict itself by ruling perjury is not a freedom of speech issue? I guess Bill Clinton may have been right, it is about how you define 'is'. --- L-E headline: "Weather alerts coming soon to a smartphone near you Wireless Emergency Alerts system gives the National Weather Service a new way to warn Americans " -- This will never be a downloaded app on my phone! Have a weather radio in my closet that's been unplugged since the thirdc day I owned it, because what the weather service thinks is a warning service was nothing but an absolute paranoid annoyance system. --- L-E headline: "Chief Justice Roberts is day’s surprise attraction * Liberals praise conservative justice for stance on law" -- Only because what the liberals don't comprehend yet is that Judge Roberts decision may start the biggest rejection of liberals in a presidential year election ever. --- Most liberal media and politicians are going to be trying to portray only the fine for not having insurance under HELL-thSCARE will be considered a tax, but, as usual, they are wrong. The forced purchase of such is the tax, the fine is a penalty for not paying the tax. --- potUS Arpege has got some fast talking to do now that the Supreme Court has ruled that HELL-thSCARE is legal, BUT the Supreme Court deemed it legal only because it IS a TAX, and Congress does have the ability to initiate and raise taxes. He's even going to have to convince DIM&DUMBERats, especially those in the Senate running for re-election, not to revolt between now and November. --- If you ever thought it took potUS Arpege any effort to lie, that theory was shot down as he tried to claim a victory for his HELL-thSCARE plan. What the Supreme Court confirmed was that this was a TAX all along, and without it being a tax, Congress had no mandate rights to force individuals to buy it. --- What will be the effect of the HELL-thSCARE TAX penalties have on people who have Health Saving Accounts? --- WRBL News3 story: :"Governor Deal said the President's health care overhaul is the largest tax increase in U.S. history." -- About as succinct as one can get. --- Online story: "Naglaa Ali Mahmoud, Egypt President's Wife: Don't Call Me First Lady" -- Rumor has it Michelle Obama responded supportively with a closed fist salute, and said she would prefer "Queen". --- While not a fan of Hollywood Gossip, did take note of a story that shows Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez exiting a Hollywood night club. While the incident seems innocuous in Hollywood, Bieber is but 18, and Gomez merely 19, and the nightclub has a 21 & over requirement. Hope the Hollywood DA goes after the club for admitting minors; it would be hard for the club to say it had no idea they were under aged. --- L-E headline/story: "Muscogee schools make some progress on CRCT * Still below state average for every subject in every grade * Muscogee County schools improved in every subject except math on this year’s Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests, or CRCTs, but still fell behind the state average in every subject. " -- Remember this when you vote on July 31st. Maybe there is a reason that no 'temp' Superintendent can be found in the MCSD system. Maybe the MCSD Board should concentrate on 'why this is true'. --- L-E story: "RIM posts big loss for first quarter, will cut 5,000 jobs * TORONTO — BlackBerry maker Research in Motion Ltd. revealed Thursday that its business is crumbling ever faster." -- How ironic... potUS Arpege loves his Blackberry, and his 'business' is also "crumbling ever faster". --- Have you heard the ads for www.taylorcountyboondocks.com? I'm surprised the EPA hasn't closed it down before it opens by declaring its mud tracks as 'wetlands'. ---

Online story: "According to a full toxicology report released Wednesday afternoon by the Miami-Dade medical examiner, the only drug detected in the lifeless body of infamous Miami face-chewer Rudy Eugene was marijuana. " -- Guess proponents of legalizing marijuana will claim Eugene just had a bad case of the "munchies". --- Online story: "CHICAGO — Chicago's City Council on Wednesday passed an ordinance that allows police to ticket people found with small amounts of marijuana instead of arresting them, saying aldermen had to do something to keep officers on the street where they can combat the surging homicide rate and not be tied up for hours doing paperwork. * The 43-3 vote in favor of the ordinance, which allows officers to write a ticket for $250 to $500 for possessing as much as 15 grams of marijuana or about 15 marijuana cigarettes, was expected after a council committee voted 13-1 last week to approve the measure. * But aldermen still debated about two hours before passing the ordinance, with many saying they were not comfortable with a measure that could be seen as sending a message that they are condoning drug use. * Others said they needed to act to protect an increasingly nervous city where homicides are up 38 percent this year compared to the same period last year." -- Ticketing criminals who have ONLY 15 or less marijuana cigarettes on them? Can you imagine the number of teens/preteens that drug gangs will have on the street selling from an inventory of 15 marijuana cigarettes? Can you imagine the number of street deaths increasing as kids with 15 marijuana cigarettes make claims on their street corner 'turf'? Hey Chicago, are you going to arrest them if they open up marijuana laced cookies at an unlicensed lemonade stand? And to think of the number of Chicagoans that have jobs with potUS Arpege... --- Online story: "The (Rhode Island) General Assembly voted this month to repeal an obscure 1989 law that made fibbing on the Internet a misdemeanor punishable by fines of up to $500 and as much as a year in prison. Gov. Lincoln Chafee signed the measure. * "This law made virtually the entire population of Rhode Island a criminal," said Steven Brown, executive director of the Rhode Island American Civil Liberties Union." -- Just wished Rhode Island had applied the 'lie law' to politicians when ir was in effect! What a wasted opportunity to rid the Rhode Island DIM&DUMBERats from Congress! --- Nine or so white DIM&DUMBERat Congresspersons have already announced they would not be attending the D&D National Convention, and the chair of the Democrats Re-election Committee has recommended all Democrats who are running for re-election this year to stay in their districts to campaign rather than come to the convention. If nine black OR white Republicans announced they were going to boycott a potUS Arpege Congressional speech, the media would be calling them racists! --- From the "Inquiring minds want to know" department: With the expansion of Muslim influence around the world as Muslim's from dominant Muslim countries seek relief from the violence and intolerance of Muslim law, why do the emigrants try to establish their ways and culture to the new places? --- Liberal's L-E "soundoff": "Let me be clear. I love this country they call the United States of America, but before I see Mitt Romney and his thugs get their hands on it, I’d rather see it in ruins. " -- Huh? Does this guy agree with potUS Arpege that he hasn't ruined America enough already? --- L-E headline/story: "Madoff’s brother to plead guilty * Madoff agreed to serve 10 years in prison, the court papers say." -- "Agreed"? How can our Court System even look itself in the mirror? What would have happened if Madoff DIDN'T "agree"? Would the federal judge have asked him what he thought was fair? This is pitiful! --- L-E headline/story: "Ex-Auburn attorney sentenced to nearly 4 years for real estate fraud * James “Jim” Boyd Doug-las Jr. pleaded guilty to wire fraud in March and was sentenced Tuesday to 45 months behind bars, a below-the-guidelines punishment that prosecutors said nevertheless fit the crime. * “Douglas was a lawyer, and lawyers who commit crimes must be held to the same standard as everyone else and must receive the same treatment as everyone else,” Jared Morris, an assistant U.S. attorney in Montgomery, Ala., said in a statement." -- This is a major problem...Douglas was sentenced to a 'below-the-line' penalty, and the assistant U.S attorney said, "Douglas was a lawyer, and lawyers who commit crimes must be held to the same standard as everyone else and must receive the same treatment as everyone else". Lawyers should not receive a 'below-the-line' sentence when they violate laws meant to protect non-lawyers. If anything, lawyers should be held even more accountable, and accountable for the intent rather than the letter of the law. Now, where is the case against Michael Eddings' legal shenanigans? ---

Representative Charlie Rangel, D-NY, just won the DIM&DUMBERat Primary. I say "won' but he only got 45% of the vote. There's no run-off, so 55% of the District 13 D&D voters are truly not represented, and none of the non-D&D voters. --- The latest from barackobama.com: "Hal - I'm sad to say this is probably the last dinner with supporters that Barack and I will be able to host together before the election. * Today's the last day you can chip in to be automatically entered for the chance to join us. Michelle" -- The first time they did this, I could 'enter' without making a donation, but since then, if you didn't make a donation, you couldn't get invited. Even McDonald's offers a way you can play their raffle games without making a purchase., and I think that is another law which obviously potUS Arpege deems himself above. --- L-E story: "Columbus Mayor Teresa Tomlinson was elected to an at-large position on the Georgia Municipal Association board of directors during a GMA meeting Monday in Savannah, the association announced (yesterday)." -- Don't you find it strange that the sitting Mayor of a major city wasn't already on the board of the GMA. Seems more like an oversight correction than a honor. Read more here: http://www.ledger-enquirer.com/2012/06/26/2099623/mayor-teresa-tomlinson-elected.html#storylink=rss#storylink=cpy --- If too many more DIM&DUMBERats announce they are not going to attend the D&D National Convention in North Carolina, the D&DNC may have to cancel the convention because they won't have a quorum to actually re-nominate potUS Arpege as their candidate in November. --- Any poll that has potUS Arpege leading with less than 50% of the voters should not be one that can be said to favor his winning that state. All such polls mean about an incumbent is that less than half those voters want him back. --- The latest from barackobama.com: "I will be the first president in modern history to be outspent in his re-election campaign, if things continue as they have so far." -- And for good reason....many of your supporters are holding back cash so they can have enough money to pay for the tax increases you want them to pay if you get re-elected. --- When will the Make-a-Wish Foundation pull it's current advertising? .. It keeps saying it can arrange for a sick child to see a space shuttle launch, and that ain't happening under potUS Arpege anymore. --- Why is it that the mainstream media never even considers that any of the 4 liberal US Supreme Court judges might consider voting against what the mainstream assumes their vote will reflect? Hey, isn't that 'political profiling'? --- Online quote service: "Everything's not going to go perfect. You're going to have some losses that you're going to have to bounce back from and some things that are a little unforeseen that you're going to have to deal with." - Tony Dungy" -- Bet Tony never gets called to serve on potUS Arpege's staff! --- Online headline: "In Prison, 'Defiant' Sandusky Insists He's Not Guilty" -- Hmmm, why is it parents are the last to know when their child announces to the rest of the world that his dad molested him as well? --- Online headline: "Jesse Jackson Jr. Leave Of Absence: Congressman Being Treated For Exhaustion" -- I imagine so... just walking around in Chicago and ducking the rioters, voters, and media will do that for you. --- From L-E story on local political forum: "Jan Atkins is no stranger to candidate forums this is the third one she's attended to get prepared for Election Day. * “Some people were very much the same and other people were a little clearer,” said Jan Atkins. * Atkins said she was glad all the candidates for House District 137 all agreed on a particular issue. * “I do like the fact that the people are against charter schools. I'm not for charter schools at all I’m for public education,” said Atkins." -- First of all, why didn't the L-E give us some background on some one they interviewed? What is her personal reason (a patty member, teacher, or interest in a special cause) for being at all these forums? Why does she have a preference for public over charter schools, rather than being interest that children get a GOOD education versus just a 'public' one? --- Not one usually to make broad assumptions, but in the case of the school board elections, this is one time I can say I would vote against all the incumbents. --- Can't let this L-E "soundoff" pass without comment: "With the way people ignore the traffic laws and are always on the phone, the only place to ride a bicycle is on the sidewalk." -- It's not safe if you are a pedestrian! Even bicyclers' are now wielding their cellphones. talking AND texting, as they ride around in oblivion to their surroundings... and the state and local laws prohibiting riding on sidewalks. --- What progress can be made if organized factions approach the out-of-school suspension problems on a racial base of WHY more blacks are suspended than those of other ethnicity? Progress will not happen until those group start asking WHAT they can do to help... and follow through. --- L-E 'headlie': "Hunter says she and John Edwards no longer a couple " -- WRONG! They will always be a 'couple'... a couple of imbeciles, a couple of self-centered megalomaniacs, and a couple of liars. --- L-E story: "ALAN RIQUELMY ariquelmy@ledger-enquirer.com   Michael Carothers, the white man convicted last November of using pepper spray on a black man, awaits a Columbus court hearing on whether he can withdraw his guilty plea and instead proceed to trial. * Carothers, 32, was sentenced to a year in prison, followed by nine years’ probation. He also was banished from the six-county Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit . He filed his motion to withdraw his guilty plea days later, arguing that his plea wasn’t voluntarily given and his counsel was ineffective. " -- Here it comes again.. that "ineffective counsel" plea. The GA Supreme Court opened up a can of worms when it ordered a new trial on that basis. In reality, most any court room loss can be said to be because of 'ineffective counsel', even one with dozens of eyewitnesses agreeing the defendant was guilty as hell, if the lawyer(s) can't come up with a 'reasonable doubt' issue. --- L-E story: " A man who had his manslaughter conviction reversed because of court errors has pleaded guilty and been given a reduced sentence * Scott was outside Booker T. Washington Apartments selling drugs in 2004 when Smith grabbed $10 worth of crack cocaine from his hand and ran, according to reports during the initial trial. Scott took the gun McCoy tossed him and chased after Smith, shooting him as he ran. " -- Two drug dealers involved in a customer's death because he stole drugs from them will be back on the streets quicker now, not because of Judge Pullen's comment, but because of "INEFFECTIVE GA SUPREME COURT counsel"! --- L-E headline: "Obama, in Atlanta fundraisers, says choice in November is clear " -- Yes, I agree! --- L-E story: " A gunman got away with $100 in cash after robbing the Milgen Road Little Caesars Sunday evening, Columbus police said. * The suspect is a white man between 28 and 30 years old. He is 5-foot-6, 185 pounds and wore a brown shirt and blue jeans, police said. " -- Wow, in a way, this is quite refreshing... a criminal no lawyer is going to make a defense based on racism or racial profiling. --- Well, football junkies have gotten their wish. Now a group of politically correct people will decide which 4 teams will be in the playoff versus a computer picking just two teams. Maybe the football junkies should start worrying about actually getting their wish. ---

Saw a story about NOAA having 10 untested remote control, hurricane tracking, weather info collecting watercraft (basically drones) NOAA plans to send into hurricanes to collect data at water level. Basically, NOAA thinks it can send a toy into 20-30 foot waves into the center of a hurricane, so it has made/bought 10 of the toys without knowing whether there's any feasibility that they will actually work. Stupid is certainly not limited to the White House in this administration. --- Online story: "The White House will host a three-hour conference Wednesday to tout what it calls the "innovative success story" of the auto industry's clean cars, advanced technology and job growth as the government prepares to adopt stricter fuel economy standards. * "We hope to spotlight the stories of citizens across the country that represent President Obama's vision of out-innovating, and out-manufacturing the rest of the world through projects and initiatives that move their communities forward," the invitation reads. The event is closed to the media. " -- No media? Guess potUS Arpege is taking a Nancy Pelosi maneuve... you have to buy a car before you can read the manual. --- L-E story: "SAVANNAH, Ga. — Students in the Savannah area might be allowed to carry cell phones during school under a policy change being considered. * The Savannah Morning News reports that the Savannah-Chatham public school board plans to vote next month on a new technology policy. If approved, students would be allowed to bring cellphones, iPads and other technology to school for academic purposes. * Some parents have said they want their students to carry cell phones so they can reach them during school hours." -- These parents must be the ones referred to as "helicopter parents". There's an argument for tablet and laptop computers, but cell phones, even smart phones, leave to much wiggle room for student disruption and distraction. Parentsshould let their children grow up by learning how to make decisions by experience rather than conference calls. Cell phones have become the dirge for parenting teens. Teens can truthfully tell their parents where they are going before leaving the house, but by the time they back out of the driveway, the plans have been changed, and parents have no clue. --- The MCSD has re-appointed John Phillips interim Superintendent for 3 months. 3 months? I certainly hope so, but after recent Board voting escapades, and pointed disrespect for outgoing Superintendent Andrews and employees she submitted for promotions, and blatantly ignoring existing staff's ability to run the system until a new Superintendent could be found, the MCSD may have trouble at getting even mediocre applicants to apply. --- From L-E story: ""We can't allow a religious symbol of any faith to be in a public park," Tomlinson said. "So we'll put it back to the rectangular flower bed that the neighborhood association created." -- Hmmm, what does Mayor Obamalinson say about the cross XpotUS Clinton made with stones on the beach at Normandy? --- Question... how does an employee witha basic degree in psychology be better qualified than another employee with 25 years of department leadership? The fact is, without further degrees in psychology, a basic degree in such is pretty much useless in the field of psychology, so why would it be a consideration to head our Inspections and Codes Department? --- The ruling on Arizona's immigration law gave the U.S. Supreme Court the opportunity to lambaste potUS Arpege's failure to uphold our Constitution... and the Supreme Court did so. --- The different bicycle organizations are pretty much committed on promoting "Share the Road", but none seem really interested in 'sharing the responsibility'. There seems to be no real effort on bicycle organizations nor bicycle shops to educate riders on etiquette nr laws that govern the use of bicycles on public thoroughfares, and certainly no effort to participate financially in paying for and maintaining bike trails and lanes. With the recent surge in bicycle interest, requiring licenses, license tags would go a long way towards addressing these areas. Once done, then the organizations should work with Keep Columbus Beautiful by banning the sale of spandex clothing to men and women over the age of 18. --- Now a 4-team playoff is getting serious attention to settle the NCAA football National Championship. How soon will this get out of hand like the NCAA basketball championships, and some 64 team playoff (with more teams to have to earn their way via playoff feeder games) becomes the norm for office pools? --- L=-E Tuesday headline: "LATE SUNDAY | Arizona 5, South Carolina 1 * Gamecocks fall to Wildcats in Game 1 of CWS finals" -- Hmm, the L-E will probably wait until tomorrow to let us know Arizona won the second game on Monday night to clinch the CWS title, but, shhhh, don't say you heard it here first. We don't want the L-E know it's irrelevant . ---

Online story: "Texas Governor Rick Perry lashed out at Obama's use of executive privilege on Sunday, comparing the president's actions to those of Richard Nixon during the Watergate scandal. " -- Well, well, since Breakfast Clubbers have already had this comparison circulated among us, and the BC does circulate in Texas, perhaps the Gov is a BCer himself. --- L-E headline: "Auburn freshman quarterback Zeke Pike arrested for public intoxication Saturday night" -- Well, we now know Zack Pike can't hold his liquor, but we'll just have to wait to see if he can hold on to a football. --- Liberal's L-E "soundoff": "Check for yourself * Obama has used an executive order one time since he's been in office, the least of any American president in history. The most was the Republican god Ronald Reagan." -- Liberals love to pull figures out of the air rather than actually check the facts because liberal media will report those figures as fact. Truth is, should this or other liberals will bother to Google, is that this is potUS Arpege's 128 executive order. Another fact is that executive orders become law after 30 days unless challenged by Congress. Another fact is Reagan issued 380 executive orders, but the granddaddy of executive orders was potUS Arpege's communist mentor, Franklin Delano Roosevelt who issued over 3,700 such orders. --- L-E headline/story: "Morsi calls for unity in Egypt * (He also) said he carries “a message of peace” to the world. In his first televised speech on state TV, Morsi pledged Sunday to preserve Egypt’s international accords, a reference to the peace deal with Israel. " -- Peace deal with Israel? Must be a translation error. What he probably said is that he wants a 'piece deal' with Israel, as in he will deliver a gift of nuclear piece missiles to blow Israel to pieces.

Online story: "Researchers from Japan's Nara National Research Institute for Cultural Properties announced Friday that three glass beads recovered from a Fifth Century burial site near Kyoto bear signs of Roman craftsmanship. This suggests that Roman influence reached as far as East Asia. * Researchers are now interested in finding out how the beads traveled more than 6,000 miles from present-day Italy to Japan. * This is not the first evidence of contact between Eastern and Western civilizations in the ancient world." -- Hmmm..why are historians amazed at finding Roman made artifacts in Japan 400-500 years after the birth of Christ? They should know '3 Kings from the Orient' had been in Bethlehem to honor Christ, so it wasn't like no one was amazed the other area existed. --- Why does Mayor Obamalinson think any high-speed rail project in GA would want to connect to Columbus. It is folly AND waste of dollars to pursue even study for such when no matter how fast the train runs, just being tied to a once/twice a day fixed schedule of departure/arrival is not going to appeal to anyone with a vehicle or access to GROOM to get to Atlanta, and who wants to get to Macon in a hurry? --- The latest from barackobama.com: Got asked to take a survey which was pretty much an unveiled attempt to get me to donate to potUS Arpege's re-election. One question asked "when" and 'how much' I felt I would donate. I answered, "None, I am saving my cash to pay for the new taxes that are coming if you get re-elected". Wonder how much longer I'll get e-mail from him.. --- Thanks to a tip from a fellow BCer, potUS Arpege is no longer just begging for lunch money. Now he is asking for cash birthday gifts. Be careful, as if they are 'gifts', they may be going into his personal account versus his campaign account. --- From a politicos Facebook site - This is the farmer's defense against pesky government drones: I'm going to wait for it in John Deere green. --- L-E story: "David Ham, 30, was arrested about 4 p.m. and held at the Muscogee County Jail. He was charged with two misdemeanor counts of tattooing minors and one count each of violation of probation, obstruction of a police officer and loitering. He pleaded not guilty to the tattooing charges during a 2 p.m. Saturday hearing in Recorder’s Court. Bond was set at $2,700 on the two charges. * Under Georgia law, tattooing of anyone under age 18 is prohibited by anyone other than a licensed osteopath or technician acting under the direct supervision of a licensed physician or osteopath." -- Wait a minute!!! just where are the parents' involvement as to whether any licensed osteopath or technician 'operates' on a child under 18? --- Well done, Mort Harris. You know, it's nice to be able to report on a lawyer's 'doings' with enthusiasm and joy. --- Liberal's L-E 'soundoff': "It is important to remember that the words “under God” were added to the Pledge in 1954 under President Eisenhower. Our Founding Fathers believed devoutly that church and state should remain separated." -- Why is it that liberals are wrong even when they feel they are right? According to Wikipedia , "The Pledge of Allegiance of the United States is an expression of loyalty to the federal flag and the republic of the United States of America, originally composed by Francis Bellamy in 1892 and formally adopted by Congress as the pledge in 1942. The Pledge has been modified four times since its composition, with the most recent change adding the words "under God" in 1954." Guess liberals don't understand the evil of half/partial truths is even worse than a 100% lie; guess that's why liberals will rally behind other liberals regardless of the facts. --- Interesting tidbit in the L-E story on garbage/waste fees going up: "While the city will continue to pick up yard waste at the curb, as of Sept. 1, it will no longer pick up waste in plastic bags. It will have to be either in trash cans or in biodegradable bags, which will be available in home stores, (Pat) Biegler said. " -- Has any thought been given to why people use plastic bags, either by themselves or inside garbage cans? How about health and safety reasons... Unlined garbage cans will require post pickup cleansing to eliminate bacterial growth, and what is more evident to a criminal that no one is home when garbage cans lay on their sides all day after the pickups have been made? Seniors are going to love this rule...NOT! While I'm sure biodegradable bags will be available here by September 1st, but how will the City be able to enforce this issue. What's the City going to do, make an inspection at every stop, which would easily double the time of garbage pickups, or is the City just going to leave rotting bags of garbage on the curbs until consumers re-bag their garbage? No 'good idea' is really a 'good idea' if it hasn't been thoroughly thought through. --- Another under-aged drinking busted... hope the police 'offered' every one a chance to blow into the breathalyzer so the charges will stick...this time. --- L-E story: "A Columbus man was charged with reckless conduct after striking a patron while leaving the Foxy Lady Lounge on Victory Drive. * No report was available on the woman’s condition." --Hmmm, I'd have to think her condition was partially inebriated, and I'm not even a reporter or policeman. --- Believing in second chances for non-violent convicts is a good, if not noble, idea, but third and fourth chances lose a lot of luster. --- Just as suspected, too much of the 70% portion of the last City LOST tax is turning into tax funded day care programs., and most of them will require patents deciding between multiple available government programs they want to do their job for them. --- While Council and the MCSD Board are making request to establish more taxing laws, how about requiring both entities to make public what the employee salaries really are when the benefits and perks are added to the 'official' salary. --- Why is another City employee being appointed to head the City Building Inspections and Code Enforcement department when the obvious 'go-to' person for L-E stories on such activities is another person? --- Why is Council considering eminent domain (Declaration of TAKING) on homes around the airport while at the same time, spending money on studies of high speed railways that would pretty much put commercial service out of business? --- L-E headline: "Jerry Sandusky's Child Abuse Trial * Lawyers' request to resign denied before trial began * Claimed they were not adequately prepared for trial" -- Well, just what were they doing with the time they billed? Glad this wasn't held in GA; can see the headline 2 years from now that Sandusky will get a new trial based on "ineffectiveness of counsel". ---

Online headline: "Former Penn State assistant coach convicted on 45 of 48 counts" -- Whew! Glad the DA didn't import the Casey Anthony jury in for the trial; they'd have had their heads buried in the Sandusky. --- Online story: "Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) called House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) "mind-numbingly stupid" for suggesting that Republicans are attacking Attorney General Eric Holder in order to advance an agenda of voter suppression. " -- There must be something in the water in SC. First, Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) called out during a potUS Arpege "State of the Union" speech, "You LIE!", and now Gowdy has exposed Pelosi! We need SC water to be exported to all states; there must be something in it that makes politicians speak honestly in public. --- potUS Arpege has gotten to where he justifies his decisions by saying, 'it was the right thing to do". Sorry, potUS Arpege, when you do/say something, it is actually 'the LEFT thing' to do. --- WRBL New3 headline: "Columbus not on the list for high speed passenger rail" -- Whew! Why is it that politicians think consumers are going to take high speed trains to destinations within 5 hours of drive time? The cost alone for a family of 4 or more will be prohibitive as experienced by those who have thought of riding AMTRAK, but add on the cost of a rental car for destination transportation, and the costs skyrocket. In addition, there won't be any time saved by time you get to a departure station far enough ahead of time to pass the security frisk, and when retrieving luggage and renting a car at the destination station. --- Online headline: "Bossless Company, Where Employees Run The Ship" -- Oooops, my bad..thought this was about Government Motors --- the latest from barackobama.com: "Hal -- The Washington Post reported this morning that "Mitt Romney's financial company, Bain Capital, invested in a series of firms that specialized in relocating jobs done by American workers to new facilities in low-wage countries like China and India." This is the same guy that goes around the campaign trail talking a huge game about being able to protect American jobs by standing up to foreign countries like China. But now we know that Romney and his partners made millions while sending American jobs overseas." -- So, Romney "goes around the campaign trail talking a huge game about being able to protect American jobs".... hmmm, and this is coming out of the mouth of the man in the White House who actually CAN protect American jobs, but wants illegal aliens to get them. --- From L-E story: "A recurring question in the accident investigation has been how Qualls got the beer his two buddies were arrested for hiding. * “A fake ID was used to make that purchase, to the best of our knowledge,” said police Lt. Tony Danford" -- There are scanning devices that show whether a driver's license is valid or not. Most of you, if you have voted in Muscogee County in recent years, have already seen them in action, but because of lobbying, our legislators have not seen fit to make these scanning devices mandatory in outlets that sell alcohol. This may be a good time to contact your representatives and demand action on these devices. The life you save could be yours. --- It's bad enough that the state of GA now neuters parents when their children become 18, but since when does a 17 year old have the right to appeal his license being confiscated, especially when it was for an alcohol related driving incident? --- Deja vu? I sincerely hope that there was no racing involved in the above tragic death, but my mind races immediately to another tragic death involving the death of my neighbors' child on Mobley Road 2 years ago. --- L-E story: "The homeschooled sister-brother team of Ann Harber and Joseph Harber, 15 and 17 respectively, defeated MBA and undergraduate students to win the top prize at the second annual Columbus State University Business Plan Competition. " -- Make sure the MCSD Board, and the State Board of Regents get a copy of this story. --- L-E story: "WASHINGTON — The State Department said Friday it is looking into how a self-professed member of a banned Egyptian terrorist organization was issued a U.S. visa and traveled to Washington this week for meetings with senior Obama administration officials. * Spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said the “circumstances of this particular case” were being reviewed. She declined to discuss specifics, citing privacy laws, but said the department is trying to better understand how and why Hani Nour Eldin was granted a visa and held meetings with officials at the White House and State Department. * Eldin has also identified himself as a member of Gamaa Islamiya, or the Egyptian Islamic Group, which the State Department has designated a “foreign terrorist organization.” * Members of such groups are ineligible for U.S. visas and barred from entering the United States. " -- Guess potUS Arpege issued an executive order for Visas for his comrades...uh...friends. --- I tell you what, though I sincerely believe no one should be able to dictate to the U.S. Supreme Court what it must or must not do, I do believe the SC should have announced their rulings on the HELL-scCare suits FIRST! --- I don't believe it will happen, but in a way, I almost hope the U.S. Supreme Court rules for the DIM&DUMBERat's bill in its entirety. Huh? you think... Well, think about it as the ultimate motivator to get more voters to the polls to vote for Republicans in all Congressional as well as the Presidential races. ---

Rumor has it, finally, that the NBA is almost over...not that I really care. Oh for the days, decades before, when Cousy, Russell, Heinsohn, Havlicek, and the Jones boys confirmed my love of basketball. --- In what will be his column in the Sunday L-E, Leonard "The" Pitts refocuses on Rodney King's oft cited rhetorical question, "Can we all get along?". It sure would be easier, to get along, that is, if writers like Pitts would stop pounding the nation on the head with the past, and focus on how far we actually have gotten along since. --- From an online quote service: ""A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs. It's jolted by every pebble on the road." - Henry Ward Beecher" -- It applies to the sense of civility, and recognition of progress, as well, and it's why political correctness has kept race issues burning on the front burners. --- The latest from barackobama.com: "Hal -- We've got a brand new app that you should check out. It's called Dashboard -- and it's going to be a game-changer in this election. It's our national online organizing platform, and if you're hoping to make an impact on this election, it's where you need to be." -- Sounds like the rebirth of ACORN is happening, but the real "game-changer" this nation needs is for potUS Arpege to be filing a change-of-address with the Post Office. --- More- The latest from barackobama.com...this time from Michelle: "For the first 10 years of our marriage, Barack and I lived in an apartment in my hometown of Chicago. The winters there can be pretty harsh, but no matter how snowy or icy it got, Barack would head out into the cold -- shovel in hand -- to dig my car out before I went to work. In all our years of marriage, he's always looked out for me. Now, I see that same commitment every day to you and to this country. -- Well, well... Maybe he shoveled 'snow' for Michelle, but what those who are now working have to shovel in order to get there is potUS Arpege's rather smelly political crap. --- The jury in the Sandusky case should be made up of children he abused who are now adults. --- potUS Arpege may have his face on the box of the holiday version of Monopoly. He's already given Holder a 'get out of jail free' card, and it seems he's trying to evict Congress from their house. --- The "Real Estate Transactions" feature of the L-E often show strange anomalies to logic. Last week, there was a transaction involving the Secretary of Veterans Affairs office buying a residential property in Harris County (still waiting for comment from some elected officials), and today, abutting properties have been given building permits: 7008 Mountain Laurel Court; $605,090; Jeff Lindsey Communities; erect single-family residence 7000 Mountain Laurel Court; $225,499; Jeff Lindsey Communities; erect single-family residence It seems rather odd that the same contractor would be erecting two residences of such varying values. Wonder if there are neighborhood covenants in play/question? --- Picture of the new Tesla in the L-E: How soon do you think Toyota will be suing for copywrite infringement on the "T" insignia? --- Have you noticed the new GA License Tags? When the new designs were offered for Georgians to vote on, I don't remember this one being an option, but it sure didn't get my vote. They are ugly. --- Why is it that politicians think consumers are going to take high speed trains to destinations within 5 hours of drive time? The cost alone for a family of 4 or more will be prohibitive as experienced by those who have thought of riding AMTRAK, but add on the cost of a rental car for destination transportation, and the costs skyrocket. Online headline: "Obama Executive Privilege Asserted Over Fast And Furious Documents" -- Hmmm, deja vu? Can we expect a 50th Anniversary remake of Nixon's declaration of "I am not a crook"?
---
This election year may be called the Jericho Election. Today's Huff Post poll shows potUS Arpege's probable electoral vote count down to 253 (270 needed) to 191 for Romney, and now 94 in the toss up category. The walls keep tumbling down...
---
potUS Arpege is beginning to grasp at straws with his executive orders. First he tries to keep the Latino voters in check from desertion, and now he he's trying to keep voting felons in house. Without illegal voters in Florida, potUS Arpege can just about 'give it up'... sorta explains why Holder is suing Florida to stop purging the voter lists.

Pass this along.

The latest from barackobama.com: "Hal -- Exciting news: You won't be the only one bringing a guest to the next Dinner with Barack. * The President has decided to bring a date: First Lady Michelle Obama." -- I feel like I just got an ad from Ed McMahon telling me I might be the next winner of a million dollars from Publishers Clearing House.

From a fellow BCer - Latest bumpersticker:

Online headline: "Food Stamp Vote In Senate Blocks Bid To Restore $4.5 Billion In Aid" -- Hmmm, must be an election year for a lot of DIM&DUMBERats.
---
Online story: "WASHINGTON -- In the months before the terrorist attacks of September 2001, the CIA unit dedicated to hunting for Osama bin Laden complained that it was running out of money, and analysts considered the likelihood of catching the terror leader to be extremely low, according to government records published Tuesday." -- Hmmm, looking back...XpotUS Clinton turned down an opportunity to have Osama bin Laden basically 'handed over' on a silver platter. What a difference Clinton's not accepting that offer has caused us fiscally and physically.
---
From L-E story on political forum: "Instead ( of audience-submitted written questions regarding the school board’s May 21 rejection of Superintendent Susan Andrews) El-Amin asked candidates to talk about suspending students from school. Wednesday’s forum began with a briefing from Rob Rhodes of the Georgia Appleseed Center for Law and Justice, who presented figures showing Muscogee County’s rate of out-of-school suspensions is nearly double the state average of 7.7 percent. * Muscogee County’s rate for 2011 was 13.4 percent, with black students twice as likely to be suspended as those from other ethnic groups, he said. " -- Ms El-Amin, of the Southern Anti-Racism Network, threw the race card out on the first pitch. There is a simple answer as to why black students are "twice as likely to be suspended as those from other ethnic groups", but she doesn't want to hear it... no. she doesn't want to ADDRESS it, which makes her a racist.
---
Standing "O" for Susan Andrews! While we at it, we might as well give Wells, Hugley-Green, and Walker face scrapers to remove the egg on their faces.

L-E's "Thought for Today": “He, who will not reason, is a bigot; he, who cannot, is a fool; and he, who dares not, is a slave.” — William Drummond, Scottish writer (1585-1649). " -- Wow! I didn't realize DIM&DUMBERats had been in existence so long.
---
L-E story: "INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA’s new academic requirements could give new meaning to the madness of March. * Wednesday, three-time national champion Connecticut and nine other men’s basketball teams were banned from the NCAA tournament because of poor Academic Progress Rate scores. " -- Hmmm, can Jackson and Sharpton be very far behind?

In an HuffPost article about potUS Arpege's 2008 major donation "bundlers" who also were appointed to administration jobs, but are not 'bundling' donations again for his 2012 re-election bid, one name stands out like a sore thumb... Attorney General Eric Holder brought in $500,000.00 in donations in 2008 and was appointed for that. So much for real qualifications. --- There are major riots in Chicago, and the Bulls aren't NBA champagne, and there's no DIM&DUMBERAT Convention going on, yet the mainstream media finds nothing to report. --- The latest from barackobama.com: "The U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed last week that groups like the Koch brothers' Americans for Prosperity and Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS should have to disclose exactly who's behind the millions of dollars they're spending to influence this election. * They're going to try to avoid this for as long as they can. After all, they have a vested interest in being able to spend millions anonymously to influence our elections -- many of the corporations and individuals funding their organizations don't want their agendas to receive scrutiny from the press or the public." -- "should have to disclose exactly who's behind the millions of dollars they're spending to influence this election"; "they have a vested interest in being able to spend millions anonymously to influence our elections"..... huh? This coming from the same potUS Arpege who gets bills passed without anyone 'reading' them until after voting; the same potUS Arpege who bypasses Congress with executive orders; the same potUS Arpege who doesn't order his fellow D&D Senators or Attorney General to be open; the same potUS Arpege who's 'green gang' bankrupts after getting hundreds of millions in federal backed loans; this coming from the same potUS Arpege the mainstream media would not 'vet' before he was elected? Gimme a break! --- Important note: Yesterday, for the first time, the HuffPost poll of likely electoral votes for potUS Arpege have dropped below the needed 270 count needed for election. The Huff Post's new figures have dropped to 260 for the incumbent. Remeber, this is a very liberal acting and supporting news outlet. --- Online headline: "Key House Leader Set To Hold Attorney General In Contempt" -- Finally! It's about time someone in Congress started to listen to America! --- Online headline: "Dead Dog In Virginia Receives Voter Registration Forms" -- Hmmm, guess ACORN rambled through a pet cemetery, and signed up all the "yellow dogs". --- Harvey Weinstein, super-rich movie mogul fund-raiser for potUS Arpege, says Romney hasn't stated any specific plans for jump-starting the economy. Huh? How can a guy who has supported potUS Arpege for 4 years be worried about whether someone else has a plan at all? --- Hollywood has to be the most discriminatory area in the country... to get invited to a fundraiser, you have to be on 'a list', but if you aren't on the 'right list', you will never get invited to the right party/fundraiser. --- potUS Arpege held a press conference in prime time last night, and said he doesn't think Putin is ready, yet, to sign on to get onboard with solving the problems in Syria or for Assad's removal. Huh? Putin has provided the attack helicopters Syria is massacring its civilians with, is providing Syria with new anti-aircraft weaponry, and is sending 3 naval ships into the Syrian port of Tartus for back up. Putin ain't signing up for anything with potUS Arpege! --- Doesn't it seem odd that the City has a smaller budget that the MCSD? The MCSD has an employee ratio of 1 to every 5 student and spends 85% of the revenues on salaries and benefits. Bet there's more than a casual correlation in that. Don't get me wrong, the City budget could be/should be less than it is, but the MCSD budget is porked out! --- There's an ad in the L-E today telling about being "the first fully bilingual Primary Care clinic in Columbus". It was only in English... --- L-E story: "Columbus Council voted Tuesday to spend $338,000 to build a peanut-shaped roundabout at the intersection of 18th Avenue and Garrard Street at the northwest corner of Lakebottom Park." -- A 'peanut' shaped ROUNDabout? This sounds more like a ride at the carnival than a solution to aid cars and pedestrians. --- L-E headline: "Soldier ordered held on $15K bond * Police say Capt. Charles Eadie sold $900 worth of steroids for $200" -- Well, his mathmatic skills are obviously lacking for his West Point education, but maybe he was just trying to get $200.00 so he could buy 20 toilet seats and sell them to the Air Force for $3,000.00 each... --- L-E headline/story: "55 Cougars on PBC honor roll * They are among a record 1,137 who made the list from the 13 PBC schools, the league announced Tuesday." -- Hmmm, looks like the average per school was about 87 students. While we praise the individual students for their excellence in being student-athletes, the sheer number of CSU recipients was disappointing at a minimum. --- L-E headline/story: "HBO apologizes for fake George W. Bush head on ‘Games of Thrones’ * More specifically: a prop severed head bearing the former president’s likeness appeared mounted on a stick. * Though the head was given a wig of long hair, spattered in mud and turned mostly away from the camera , the distinctive upper lip was a giveaway * George Bush’s head appears in a couple of beheading scenes,” the duo (creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss) revealed in their commentary. “It’s not a choice, it’s not a political statement. We just had to use whatever heads we had lying around.” -- HA-HA-HA! 'we use .. whatever heads we had lying around'... To the media and other D&D's, the two had to 'wink' when they said that, but wanna bet whether they had a Clinton or potUS Arpege head just 'lying around' to choose from?

From the "it's not one world" department - Online story: "JAIPUR, India – Police say a man upset over his daughter's lifestyle chopped her head off with a sword and then paraded it through his village before surrendering to authorities in western India." -- What's even sadder is that if this happened here, the ACLU would probably defend this guy for being persecuted for his religious rights. --- Online story: "Twelve jurors acquitted Roger Clemens Monday on charges of lying to Congress when he denied using performance-enhancing drugs." -- As it should be since I'm sure every juror had to compare the indignation of Congresspersons over whether someone tells them the truth versus Congresspersons telling US the truth --- Online headline: "Sandusky's Defense Lawyers Call First Witnesses" -- Huh? You'd think that more witnesses would be the last people Sandusky's lawyers would want on the witness stand... --- In an e-mail received from "The Valley Partnership", there was this picture and copy: On March 28, NCR dedicated its second Columbus, Ga. manufacturing facility in Muscogee Technology Park. This expansion will allow NCR to reach its goal of employing 870 people in Columbus. Was this right before or right after Synovus/CB&T announced its multi-million dollar purchase of ATMs from a German company? --- The Market Days on Broadway each Saturday from April to November are quite amazing and revealing. It's a cosmos of entrepreneurship at work in the American way. It's a mixture of hobbyists, working moms and dads, students, and retired people displaying. promoting, and selling products that they have made, grown, or baked to a curiously supportive audience. As I walked around the vendors, diverse in most any way you can think about, I did notice an outstanding commonality: Of all the cars, filling every parking space on Broadway, and every inch of normally 'loading only' space on the median, there were none with Obama bumperstickers. --- Online story: "President Barack Obama is telling "gay" supporters that they will have a friend and "fellow advocate" in the White House as long as he is president." -- Lets make sure that date is in January of 2013 and not 2017. When you think about it, once potUS Arpege is gone, we'll all have, as the Flintstone's theme song described it, a 'gay old time'.... and joyfully! --- Passed on by a fellow BCer: "Do you or anyone in your family eat Cheerios, Wheaties, Trix, Chex, Fiber One, Kix, Lucky Charms or any other General Mills cereal? Do you enjoy a nice bowl of HÓ“agenDas ice cream with a Nature Valley granola bar, perhaps after a crispy Totino’s Pizza? On a cold winter’s day, you like to sit up to a nice hot bowl of Progresso Soup? If you are one of the many who enjoy your veggies, are you a fan of Green Giant vegetables? Do you use Betty Crocker, Hamburger Helper or Old El Paso? If you answered yes to one or more of the above questions, you may want to think twice before you make your next purchase. * On the ballot in November, Minnesota residents will be voting on a constitutional amendment which defines marriage as a union between one man and one woman. The General Mills corporate headquarters is located in Minneapolis." -- You don't have to be British to enjoy this farewell to GM products...."Cherrio!" --- Being a teen got tougher in the 70's when the U.S. Supreme Court gave high school students "rights". Life became tougher for teens and especially their parents. It gets even worse when your teen turns 18 and gets in over his/her head, and the laws prohibit parents from having control of subsequent decisions. Why...why on earth would the state allow an under-aged person caught driving under the influence of alcohol be able to 'appeal' such situation, and continue driving until the appeal was heard in court. Legislators... please restore some sanity in dealing with under-aged drivers! --- L-E story: "In other business, the (MCSD) board voted to accept a balanced budget of $279,274,662 for the fiscal year 2013" -- The 1990 budget for the MCSD and its 32,000 students was $54,000,000.00, less than $1,700.00 per student.... Today, we have about the same 32,000 students in public schools, but now we spend over $8,700.00 per student. --- From above story: "Tamika Phillips was named interim director of adult education for the Muscogee County School District on Monday night. * The move will allow the school district to keep $932,000 in grant money. * The school district then received notification that if retiring director Sally Jordan was not replaced with a full-time administrator by July 1, the school district would lose its grant money. Federal guidelines require a full-time administrator." -- Well, which is it? --- Why would any board member want Phillips back as interim superintendent at a lesser salary than he was once paid? Reestablishing his value now is an admittance he wasn't worth what he was paid when he worked here before, so why bring him back at all? --- Last week, the chair complained of having to make cuts because of revenue shortfalls, but the reality is that there are no revenue shortfalls. Revenue is what comes in from taxes taken from individual citizens (only people pay taxes, not corporations) , and it's upper to the Board to distribute those revenues as best it can with the best interests of the taxpayers in mind. --- L-E editorial enigma: "Stanton the right choice to move Oxbow forward * Those credentials, and others too numerous to be listed here, make Stanton the perfect choice to serve as interim director at Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center." -- Huh? Why is the L-E so giddy over Stanton being named "interim" director instead of official DIRECTOR?

Online story: "BEIRUT -- The head of the U.N. observers' mission in Syria demanded Sunday that warring parties allow the evacuation of women, children, elderly and sick people endangered by fighting in the besieged city of Homs and other combat zones." -- The U.N. May we rest in peace. --- What an ironic happening.... the 40th anniversary of "Watergate" in Washington. Now we have "Holder-gate" as in 'hold da gate' open until we can kick'em all out. --- Riding a bicycle will not get safer until bicyclers learn and obey the laws, and police start ticketing bicycle law violators. About the only way the first is going to happen is that the state requiring bicycle driving tests/licensing, and requiring bicycle owners to purchase tags with the revenue going for road/trail maintenance, and for more police to monitor/ticket them. --- Comments on other letters in the L-E today: The Reverend Flakes should take to heart his concerns, and the IRS should monitor him for compliance; Mr Hobbs should go to the bathroom and wash his nose at once! --- There's a sicko out there who has hijacked the late T Sam Rawls' yahoo.com e-mail account! I have received 2 e-mails from Sam this week. If you have received some, please go to www.yahoo.com, scroll to the bottom, and click on the 'feedback' link, and report the irreverence to Yahoo. --- L-E story: "ATLANTA — The battle over how the region would spend $6.14 billion to fix metro Atlanta’s transportation quagmire is in full roar. * Little noticed in the din: $1.08 billion in tax revenue that would go directly to local government, part of the $7.2 billion expected from the proposed 1 percent sales tax. * Each of the region’s counties, cities and towns would get a share of the $1 billion to spend on transportation. But unlike the regional $6 billion fund, there is no requirement to list a single project for the $1 billion local fund. In many cases, voters at the polls July 31 will have no way of knowing where the projects are that the local money would build" -- If the permanent T-SPLOST passes, you'll be spending an additional 25% in state sales taxes for everything you buy anywhere in GA, and our Columbus will never receive its fair share. Sam Donaldson sought to contradict Tucker Carlson's comparison of him to the reporter that interjected potUS Arpege. Not me he claimed ( I disagree with Donaldson). Sayeth Donaldson: "These people and perhaps even certain news organizations (certainly the right wing talkers like Limbaugh) encourage disrespect for this president." I disagree with Donaldson on this as well. Rush Limbaugh does not disrespect the office of the President, but does demand that our presidents honor the office. Donaldson was one of the worst bashers of any Republican president..period, --- The latest from barackobama.com: "Thanks to our president, this nation's immigration policy just became more fair and more just." -- Unfortunately, he cannot make the same claim about the nation being safer. --- After Reading Dimon Kendrick-Holmes column yesterday, this truism needs to be aired: Rule of thumb for husbands is that no, repeat, NO mechanical, gas or electric driven labor saving device ever be presented to a wife with a bow/wrapping paper attached under any circumstance! --- L-E headline: "Obama calls on lawmakers to end gridlock" -- Of course he only calls Republican lawmakers, while it could be donemore easily if he just asked his DIM&DUMBERat buddies to do it. --- L-E story followup: "Let's be clear, this is not amnesty, this is not immunity, this is not a path to citizenship, this is not a permanent fix. This is the right thing to do." - President Barack Obama after he eased enforcement of the nation's immigration laws, offering a chance for hundreds of thousands of illegal..." -- No, potUS Arpege, it is NOT the RIGHT thing to do...it's the LEFT thing to do. --- Online headline/story: "Jamie Dimon's Presidential Cufflinks A Gift From A White House Resident * Several sources have now reported that the prominent cufflinks Dimon wore during the hearing bore the seal of the President of the United States, with John Carney reporting them to be "a gift from a resident of the White House," though just who specifically remains unknown." -- Incredible! Transparency...NOT! Oh, maybe it was a gift from Michelle? Carney would have been better off if he could have said he was not sure whether the ciff links were the ones potUS Arpege gave him or from a former POTUS or potUS. --- Speaking of the $2 BILLION dollar trading loss by Dimon, have we heard the names of those who profited from that trade? --- Online headline/story: "Warren Buffett Fires CEO For Taking Island Vacation On Company's Dime * After Denis Abrams, CEO of Benjamin Moore -- a company owned by Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway -- used company money to take his corporate staff on a getaway to Bermuda to celebrate the company’s first quarterly sales increase in years, Buffett fired Abrams, the New York Post reports. The island getaway allegedly included a dinner cruise aboard a yacht that some vacation attendees believed was owned by singer Jimmy Buffett" -- Now here's the "Buffet Rule" potUS Arpege needs to initiate...starting with the whole GSA upper management team! Next would be Pelosi, and Reid. Amazing.. you just can't make this stuff up. --- Online headline/story: "Rhode Island Passes 'Homeless Bill Of Rights' * The legislation, which won final approval by the state Senate on Wednesday, bucks a national trend among municipalities toward outlawing behaviors associated with homelessness such as eating, sleeping and panhandling in public spaces. * Among other steps, the Rhode Island law would guarantee homeless people the right to use public sidewalks, parks and transportation as well as public buildings, like anyone else "without discrimination on the basis of his or her housing status." -- Hope Mayor Obamalinson and Council read this. They could save the City boo-koodles of money by eliminating the current "10 Year Homeless" plan by sending all the homeless to Rhode Island. --- Online headline: "Roberto Unger, Obama's Former Harvard Law School Professor, Says The President 'Must Be Defeated'" -- You would think, 'WOW", but don't think for a minute that you agree with the Harvard professor. While we probably agree with him {that the President 'must be defeated'', his reasons are not the same as ours. The professor thinks potUS Arpege hasn't done enough fast enough to destroy America. --- L-E story: "Home Depot partnered with Troup County’s Rosemont Elementary School kindergarten parents for an end of the year party with a cookout and carnival. The school’s Partner in Education created craft items for the children to have a “workshop” where they made a plaque on which to display their graduation tassels. " -- Kindergarten "graduation tassels"? Why not just give every kid who completes 1 season of youth sports a trophy? Ooops, 'they' already do.... No wonder today's children do not appreciate personal effort needed to accomplish anything; the kids are brainwashed by the time they are teens into believing all they have to do is 'show up' and people will think they've actually done something worthy of reward. ---

Online story: "VANCOUVER, British Columbia — British Columbia's top health official says taking pure ecstasy can be safe when consumed responsibly by adults,: -- No wonder the DIM&DUMBERats want to model their HELL-thScare Bull after the Canadian one... Yeah, right! --- Online headline/story: "Obama Immigration Speech: Reporter Neil Munro Interrupts, Heckles President During Remarks * "And the answer to your question is sir, and the next time I prefer you let me finish my statements before you ask that question, is this is the right thing to do for the American people...I didn't ask for an argument. I'm answering your question," he said, speaking over the man's protests. "It is the right thing to do for the American people." -- "right thing to do for the American people"? In what way? Jobs for Americans is tough enough with potUS Arpege's toxic economic policy, but why does he think it's the "right thing to do" to allow illegal people to mix and mingle with those of us who have either been born here or, especially, those who have earned their citizenship by following the course of action to become an American citizen. Joe Wilson, R- SC representative was right, potUS Arpege, "YOU LIE!". --- Online headline/story: "Obama Administration To Stop Deporting Younger Undocumented Immigrants And Grant Work Permits * The policy change, described to The Associated Press by two senior administration officials, will affect as many as 800,000 immigrants who have lived in fear of deportation. It also bypasses Congress" -- Can we say 'treason"? How about "impeachment"? Under the administration plan, undocumented immigrants will be immune from deportation if they were brought to the United States before they turned 16 and are younger than 30, have been in the country for at least five continuous years, have no criminal history -- What an oxymoron! Living illegally in this country IS a crime, therefore all are criminals. "The policy will not lead toward citizenship but will remove the threat of deportation and grant the ability to work legally," -- I'm sure Americans looking for jobs will be thrilled. One other thing, if a 16 year old who was brought here illegally by his parents 5 years prior, is found out, and his/her parents are caught and deported, what's potUS Arpege gonna do with the 16 year old who can stay because of his policy? --- The latest from barackobama.com: "I'm about to sit down for lunch with a few grassroots supporters who are being flown in from Arizona, Maryland, Michigan, and Ohio. * It'll just be me and these four supporters, with enough time to relax and have a real conversation." -- "Real conversation"? Yeah, right. I'm sure potUS Arpege is really going to allow four $3.00 donors to ask any real questions, even if they are DIM&DUMBERats, too. --- L-E headline: "Coroner appeals oust from primary * Attorney says bounced check is irrelevant because party paid fee " -- Lets see...I do believe this point has been raised .. twice .. in prior Breakfast Club editions, and it is right. Since the DIM&DUMBERat Party paid the fee, the fee is/was paid properly and on time for Thrower to have successfully qualified. The returned check is between Thrower and the D&Ds. --- L-E headline/story: "TOOMER’S CORNER OAK TREES * Updyke may miss part of his trial for health exam * The trial is scheduled to start next week, but attorneys for Up-dyke, 63, claim their client’s health problems may affect his ability to participate in the trial. * The defense filed a notice with the court late Thursday that stated the doctor treating Updyke for diabetes recommended the he receive a neurological exam next week after suffer (sic) passing out spells." -- All the neurological tests in the world will show Updyke to be 'stupid', but why is one scheduled on during the trial time frame? --- Liberal's L-E "soundoff": "I am a law-abiding citizen and when I get off work I prefer some marijuana as opposed to alcohol to relax and unwind. That is my personal choice and being 62, I should have that right. " -- Typical liberal with typical liberal mentality! This D&D claims to be a "law-abiding citizen" but trumps that by saying he/she knowingly breaks the law... That's the beauty of being a liberal.. if you don't like a law, just ignore it. If you then get caught, complain you are a victim, and if another liberal gets caught breaking another morals issue, join hands in supporting breaking that law, too. --- Another liberal's L-E "soundoff": "Why should a woman be forced to have a baby when she doesn’t want it, can’t afford it, it threatens her life, or the baby isn’t viable?" -- Simply, in most cases, the woman could have just said, "No.", or at a minimum. required use of protection. If she can't afford it, there are other couples standing in lines waiting, wanting, a baby to love and care for. Liberals just want the unfettered ability to break the laws they don't like, and why should the laws of God be any different in breaking the laws of man. --- Politicians are always thinking of ways to sugar coat their source of power... taxes. Locally, most SPLOSTs have been successful because the campaigns stress that they are temporary, specific, and outsiders will help us pay for our 'goodies'. The T-SLOST is a misnomer. There is nothing temporary about it, there are no specific 'goodies' that limit its use, and we end up paying more sales taxes than we will get returned to us... forever. This is just another, though directed to certain use, sales tax. --- I always had a problem with the extended NBA season, but tomorrow is Father's Day, and Wednesday is the first day of summer, and there still won't be a NBA champion decided, and it looks like the playoffs may extend into next season's schedule. --- L-E headline: "Coaches honoring late friend with ‘Drive for Dinger’ * Foundation gives healthy meals to cancer survivors " -- Why would a Foundation have giving a healthy meal to someone who has shown the ability to win the struggle with cancer? Whatta waste of time and money. Now, if that Foundation really wanted to do something meaningful, it would focus on helping either patients with cancer or help surviving family members cope with their losses. ---

Online headline: "Lighting Company Allegedly Turned Down Job Applicant For Not Being Christian Enough" -- Now, this is a test for the ACLU to defend the Lighting Company on the basis that with all the assessment about the church & state remaining separated, then the state has an obligation not to pass judgement on a private business' policies on religion. --- Online headline/story: "U.S. military insignia no longer allowed on Bibles * The publishing arm of the Southern Baptist Convention says its Bibles can no longer be emblazoned with the official insignia of branches of the U.S. military." -- My, oh, my... Even FDR is turning over in his grave. I have father's Army Air Corp issued WWII New Testament, complete gold imprinted insignia, and message from President Roosevelt encouraging all US soldiers to seek solace and guidance within the pages. --- L-E headline: "AUBURN TRIPLE HOMICIDE * DEFENSE ATTORNEY WANTS CASE ‘OUT OF LEE COUNTY’ " -- I reckon so... and I'll bet the families of the victims wish Leonard had been out of Lee County at the time their sons were needlessly murdered. --- L-E's "Thought for Today": “Education is a private matter between the person and the world of knowledge and experience, and has little to do with school or college.” — Lillian Smith, U.S. author (1897-1966). -- And never has this been truer than in today's educational environment. The dumbing down of the SATs; the politically correctness of not holding individuals responsible for their overcoming obstacles; taking over parental involvement for getting their children to-and-from school and taking over the children's dietary needs; teachers cheating 'for' the students on standardized tests, and social promotions and diplomas. Where... no, when will it stop? --- I'm curious... if the GED program is so vital, so important, why are those seeking such nickled and dimed over a testing/graduation fee? --- L-E letter: "I wanted to send a big thanks to Greg Countryman for trying to help my family with getting the air conditioner fixed. * I did apply for a grant to get the air and other things fixed, but the grant may take a while" -- First, this is obviously meant to paint Countryman in a good light prior to election time, but if he was acting in an official capacity, why was he fooling around with someone's AC on duty, and, also, where in the US or GA Constitution are taxpayers charged with providing AC's or grants for AC's? --- L-E story: "WASHINGTON — Last summer, gays in the military dared not admit their sexual orientation. This summer, the Pentagon will salute them, marking June as gay pride month just as it has marked other celebrations honoring racial or ethnic groups. " -- Salute someone for being gay, racial or ethnic? This is just WRONG! Saluting someone because of their meritous service is always the correct thing to do, but it should be based only on the individual's accomplishments as a soldier doing his duty or more. --- I'm real curious as to why Richard Hyatt's column today on politics doesn't even mention the Senate 15 race between Ed Harbison and Reginald Pugh. Harbison, of course, is the incumbent, but Pugh is the head of the local Urban League, husband of Councilor Evelyn Turner-Pugh, and she is also working on the staff of Congressman Sanford Bishop. Politics indeed to create strange bedfellows. --- L-E headline: "OBAMA PROPOSES NEW AIR QUALITY STANDARDS" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought potUS Arpege was apologizing for the hate ads he's running on TV & radio. --- There are always surprises in the "Real Estate Transactions" feature of the L-E, but I think this one takes the cake: "Wells Fargo Bank to Secretary of Veterans Affairs; 3633 McKee Road, Upatoi; $251,171; residential ". What is the Secretary of Veterans Affairs doing buying a residential property? --- There's a story in the L-E today concerning a computer and safe being stolen from a Woodruff Farm Rd apartment on Sunday. Today is Friday. This is not news; it's "s-new-z". ---

Raise high and proud, BCers, today is Flag Day! --- Online headline: "Harry Reid, John McCain Agree On Pacquiao Fight, Push Boxing Bill" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought both were 'boxing' up their things and clearing out of Washington. --- Online headline: "John Edwards Trial: Justice Department Drops Case Against Ex-Senator" -- In other words, there be no justice against DIM&DUMBERats as long as Holder is in office. Hence, no special prosecutor where Holder is involved, either. --- Holder says he will actively pursue the protection of American voting rights as per the 1965 Voting Rights bill. DOH! That's what the states Holder is suing are trying to do...guarantee that only rightful Americans vote so their vote will actually count! --- Online headline: "'John King USA' Canceled: CNN Ends 6 PM Show " -- News show? I thought that was some Martian movie flop from Disney. --- Online story: "WASHINGTON -- A critical document from President Barack Obama's free trade negotiations with eight Pacific nations was leaked online early Wednesday morning, revealing that the administration intends to bestow radical new political powers upon multinational corporations, contradicting prior promises. * The leaked document has been posted on the website of Public Citizen, a long-time critic of the administration's trade objectives. The new leak follows substantial controversy surrounding the secrecy of the talks, in which some members of Congress have complained they are not being given the same access to trade documents that corporate officials receive. * The terms run contrary to campaign promises issued by Obama and the Democratic Party during the 2008 campaign." -- A broken campaign promise is usually just winked at, and reloaded for the next campaign, but this sounds like it might be leaked by a Clinton interest in order to get Hillary positioned for 2016. Don't you just love it when liberals flame the fire of their own meltdown? --- The latest from barackobama.com: Michele writes:"From coaching basketball to knowing how many Jonas brothers there are, Barack is a pretty cool dad. * But more importantly, Barack is a wonderful father and partner. No matter what's on his plate, he puts the kids first, and they know how much he loves them. * This Father's Day, I want Barack to know how much we love and appreciate him, so I hope you'll join me in wishing him a happy Father's Day." -- Wish she'd been able to say potUS Arpege was a pretty cool President, and America knew how much he cared and loved her... especially here on Flag Day. --- From a fellow BCer, Bumpersticker of the day: --- WTVM9 story: "With school out, many parents are spending time with their kids at our local mall. However, a Columbus mother is furious after she says she was asked to leave Peachtree Mall because of a word on her daughter's t-shirt. * She said last week a security guard at Peachtree Mall asked her and her 12-year-old daughter Sarah to leave because of word ASS on her daughter's shirt. * "I was very humiliated. I honestly have never been as humiliated like that in my life," said Sarah." -- Well, it's about time she felt humiliated. Perhaps this will save her from being humiliated in the future over some bad personal behavior that ruins the rest of her life. I'd have been humiliated just knowing my mother would be seen in public with me wearing such a t-shirt. --- L-E story: "The Alabama attorney who brokered the surrender of accused Auburn gunman Desmonte D. Leonard said her more than 50-mile drive with the fugitive was “fairly stressful because he was on every billboard” in the area. " -- Stressful because his picture was on 'every billboard'? Stressful... compared to riding in the same car with him? --- From the same L-E story: "(Attorney) James said snipers watched from the rooftop as Leonard entered the courthouse. Marshals in “military SWAT gear” greeted them in the lobby, a sight James said she was unaccustomed to in a federal courthouse. * Once inside, Leonard met with police and briefly visited with his mother before being taken to jail. Leonard’s mother had sought to persuade him to surrender, and was “absolutely relieved” at the arrest, James said. * “She’d rather have him in jail than dead,” she said." -- Oh, his mother said she'd 'rather have him in jail than dead'. Like the rest of us, I do hope his lawyer and mother are smart enough to figure out that we are all better off that he stay in jail UNTIL he's dead! --- L-E story: "ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A basketball that was washed away in last year’s tsunami has been reunited with students at a middle school in Japan. " -- Hmmm, wonder if it was checked for radioactivity? --- From L-E editorial commentary: "Fifty years ago this week, a bill was before Congress that would prohibit wage and salary discrimination between men and women doing the same jobs. * Now a study reported in the prestigious Journal of the American Medical Association indicates that women physicians and medical scientists are still paid substantially less for the same work than men. * The study, which tried to eliminate variables that could skew the findings, showed that women in comparable medical school research positions, at comparable ages and stages of their careers, made on average $12,000 a year less than men — roughly $350,000 over a 30-year career. * Fifty years after 1962, gender equity is still a myth. What’s really sad is how unsurprising that is." -- Only media elitist and career DIM&DUMBERats feel free enterprise can be legislated! Businesses hire and pay for services based on market conditions, and employees are free to market their skills at other places whenever they see fit. Take the L-E 'lifers' such as Nix and Chitwood.. it is hard to believe that they could earn more if they checked out other opportunities, but they don't explore that, so they need to be content with what the L-E deems is appropriate to keep them on the staff. They trade upward mobility for staying put where they are. If they were lured to other cities, then the L-E would probably hire someone to replace them at a higher salary than either made here. That's life; that's life choices. Deal with it! --- Since the Board of Elections received a valid form of payment for current Coronor Bill Thrower's qualifying fee, it makes no sense that the B of E would have any jurisdiction over the transaction with the local DIM&DUMBERat Party...UNLESS the D&D's filed a complaint with the B of E to make it an inside political issue. --- Congress is probably patting itself on the back for getting JPMorgan Chase to say it was going to make CEO Dimon et al involved in the $2 Billion hedge fund loss to pay back their bonuses. What Congress has done is to reduce the taxes paid to IRS. The bonus money will be returned to the profit line of the corporation which is taxed at a lesser rate than the executive bonuses which were taxed at the highest personal rates. We have some really stupid Congressperson, and other states will re-elect them this November. We can't win for winning! ---

Casey Anthony now says, "I didn't kill my daughter". Guess when you lie to everyone about something for so long. you can even start to believe it yourself. Ask OJ. --- Online headline/story: "Postal Service Could Go Way Of Greece, But Won't Need Bailout, Chief Patrick Donahoe Says * The service lost $3.2 billion in the first three months of 2012 and recently began offering buyouts to thousands of employees in order to reduce its workforce. The agency has borrowed heavily from the government to meet its obligations. * Officials say drastic changes are needed to head off annual losses as high costs eat up shrinking revenue due to Americans' increasing online communications. The agency does not receive taxpayer money to pay for operations." -- "has borrowed heavily from the government to meet its obligations"... "does not receive taxpayer money to pay for operations"... I guess the USPS lives in one of potUS Aepege's seven extra states he campaigned in.... the State of Denial! --- L-E story: "NEW YORK — New York City’s Board of Health signaled strong support Tuesday for the mayor’s plan to fight obesity by banning the sale of large, sugary beverages at local restaurants. * The proposal by Mayor Michael Bloomberg would require most licensed food service establishments in the city to limit serving high-calorie drinks like colas, lemonade and punch to containers no larger than 16 ounces. * People would be free to buy another round, but restaurants couldn’t serve the 20-ounce cups now so popular at fast food eateries, movie theaters, and food courts." -- Oh, people will be able to buy a second or third 16 ounce drink... are they kidding me! I also guess McDonald's will also continue offering FREE refills on all the 16 ounce sodas and tea and coffee their in-house customers order... I can't wait for the first lawsuit.. probably from "7-11" for banning its "Big Gulp" cups on the basis of discrimination against Indian business owners. --- L-E headline/story: "Republicans want outside prosecutor to probe leaks * (Republicans) want the attorney general to appoint a special counsel to look into the leaks, rather than Holder’s choices, U.S. Attorneys Ron Machen and Rod Rosenstein, who hold political appointments." -- I would HOPE that even potUS Arpege would want to CHANGE the appointment process. With his appointment of Eric Holder, and if Holder's appointees come up with 'nothing', then it looks even worse for potUS Arpege as being in the know about the leaks. Hmmm, can anyone say "missing 18 minutes of tape"? --- L-E story: "MARIA CHENG AP Medical Writer LONDON — Diesel fumes cause cancer, the World Health Organization’s cancer agency declared Tuesday, a ruling it said could make exhaust as important a public health threat as secondhand smoke. " -- Whatta blow to the elitist and their bio-diesel luxury cars. --- Two states have reported embarrassing misspelled words on some high school diplomas recently. Maryland, first, then Nevada. It's ironic that Nevada is the home of Harry Reid, Senate Majority Leader, and Maryland is the home of VpotUS Biden-Biden, who is also the president of the Senate. Is there any question why the Senate is so mismanaged? --- A Brooklyn, NY principal banned "God Bless the USA" from her kindergarten graduation ceremony. She could have avoided this if she had simply banned the absurd graduation ceremony for kindergarten classes to begin with. --- Looks like the Braves were victimized by someone impersonating a former player at this year's annual alumni weekend. Of course, the Braves should be able to handle a single imposter with ease compared to the seeming imposters that show up in Braves uniforms for the playoffs. --- L-E headline/story: "More than seven in 10 U.S. teens jobless * WASHINGTON — Once a rite of passage to adulthood, summer jobs for teens are disappearing. * Fewer than three in 10 American teenagers will hold jobs such as running cash registers, mowing lawns or busing restaurant tables from June to August. The decline has been particularly sharp since 2000, with employment for 16-to-19-year olds falling to the lowest level since World War II." -- The reason? Take your pick... X-boxing, ill-prepared for business needs, don't know what a lawn mower is, or just in training for a government job as a welfare recipient when they drop out. --- Tell you what... the L-E needs to look in house as to what it deems 'reasonable and necessary"... The L-E stopped running John House's column because he is running against Congressman Bishop, yet it picked up a column written by Karl Douglass who is paid by Bishop as a Campaign Strategist/Consultant", and it runs the absurd letters of Judy F Brouillette without identifying her as the Treasurer of the local Democrat Party.

Sen Diane Feinstein D&D, CA, says she 'takes the president at face value".... Well, which one, his left, his right, or his about face? --- L-E headline: "Axelrod says voters will judge Obama on actions" -- DOH! Of course potUS Arpege will be judged on his actions, and for his lack of action. I expect David Axelrod is about to abandon potUS Arpege soon, and rejoin the Clinton campaign for 2016. --- Online headline: "Commerce Sec. Bryson cited for felony hit-and-run" -- Oooops, my bad. Thought for a moment potUS Arpege had thrown the Commerce Secretary under the (economy) bus. --- Update on above: "A separate White House statement said that Bryson, who aides said suffered an apparent seizure on Saturday while driving near his Los Angeles-area home, will undergo medical tests and evaluations." -- The only 'seizing' going on is potUS Arpege 'seizing' the opportunity to blame someone else. There was nothing in the police report that confirmed a seizure occur as Bryson hit a vehicle from the rear, then after losing an argument about whether to call police or not, Bryson got back in his car and tore off, and eventually ran into another car which rendered him unconscious. --- From the 'only in California' department - Online headline/story: "Planned Parenthood sets up clinic on high school campus * A California doctor says one school district's union (Los Angeles Unified School District) with Planned Parenthood illustrates how deceptive the group is when it comes to marketing to teens." -- Now here is a situation where I'd be supportive of a Sharia Law Club, a Catholic study group, and a Judeo-Christian Coalition being situated right next it, but that won't happen. --- Online story: "SPRING CREEK, Nev. -- Students at a northeastern Nevada high school were surprised when they received their diplomas: the word "graduation" was misspelled as "graduataion." -- Lightning strikes again! There was a recently reported 'diploma-gate' in Maryland over a misspelled word, and now this. Don't these guys have 'spell checker' software? Surely these companies are relying on recent high school/college grads to catch spelling errors. --- Online headline/story: "Chicago Public Schools: Highest Graduation Rate On Record For Five-Year Grads in 2012, District Predicts * With more than 18,500 students graduating from CPS this year, the district predicts its graduation rate will hit 60.6 percent this year for students who were freshmen in the 2007-2008 school year, the highest it's been since at least 1999 * CPS Chief Jean-Claude Brizard attributed the improved rate in this year's class to graduation rate initiatives that targeted several schools, like Phoenix Military Academy, where teachers and principals collaborated to raise their graduation rate from 42 percent in 2008 to nearly 75 percent last year" -- 5 year curriculums for high school? Wonder if athlete's get red-shirted for eligibility? Also, we have to wonder whether the CPS has hired all the Atlanta teachers who were fired for cheating on student testing.... --- Related story to above: "90 percent of Chicago teachers authorize strike * Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis announced the result of last week's balloting - nearly 90 percent of its 26,502 members voted to authorize a strike -and called it "an indictment of the state of the relationship between the management of CPS and its largest labor force members." State law requires 75 percent approval. * Teachers are upset that Mayor Rahm Emanuel canceled last year's raise and that they're being asked to work longer days without what they consider to be an adequate pay increase. * Chicago public school students have the shortest school day - 5 hours and 45 minutes - among the nation's 50 largest districts, according to a 2007 report from the National Council on Teacher Quality * (Mayor Emanuel) still was able to lengthen the school day for children to 7 hours, starting this fall, without the union's approval." -- Chicago teachers are complaining about working a 7 hour day while private business owners put in 10 - 14 hour days to net enough money after they pay taxes to live. Chicago needs Scott Walker for its Mayor! --- Online story: "Lindsay Lohan is now blaming faulty brakes as the cause of her recent accident after blaming the truck driver cutting her off was debunked" -- As hard as I try, there are some Lohan sightings/citings that have to be addressed. Lohan was driving a Porsche. Blaming the truck driver versus the Porsche brakes was a much better avoidance of the truth. --- L-E story: "The Muscogee school board’s failing to appoint an administrator has placed in jeopardy a $1.2 million adult education program serving 1,700 students in five counties. * The school district annually puts about $300,000 into adult education; the rest comes from federal and state grants that for the 2013 fiscal year total $932,000. The school district administers that grant money for Muscogee, Harris, Chattahoochee, Stewart and Quit-man counties. " -- Excuse me? Our local property taxes are being used to pay for students from other counties? It was bad enough when the MCSD was allowing teachers who were capitalizing on other states/counties lower tax rates to live there, but let those teachers' children attend Muscogee County schools without paying the non-county tuition charges. Unless there is more state and federal dollars coming in to make this program 'revenue positive', this is worse. --- Addendum comment to above: "These programs that bring in less revenue than expenses are the very reason we should wean ourselves from federal program involvement. The average federal program takes $100.00 dollars out of the community for every $20.00 they send back for a specific program that requires us to spend even more local tax dollars to sustain. --- Judy F. Brouillette should follow her own advice. The L-E should report that she is the treasurer of the Muscogee DIM&DUMBERat Party. --- Excuse me, but in the world of tennis, having a mediocre 50/50 +/- record should not merit an All-Bi-City award. Call me old fashioned, but a performance award should have performance standards. --- L-E headline/story: "FBI: violent crime down for fifth straight year * The number of violent crimes reported to police across the country fell 4 percent last year when compared to 2010, the fifth straight year of declines." -- Obviously, Columbus has been left out of these statistics. ---
