Online headline: "Report: Obama Says He Needs 2nd Term To Redo Health Reform" -- "To redo health reform"? Undo is what needs to be done, and that wouldn't happen in 5 more terms with potUS Arpege at the helm. --- Online headline/story: "Torture By Sesame Street At Guantanamo Bay: Al Jazeera Reports * Now, a new documentary from Al Jazeera shows that detainees may also have been subjected to musical torture of a softer variety. * According to the report, prisoners at the U.S. detention camp at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base were forced to wear headphones blasting music from Sesame Street on repeat for hours or days on end." -- What wimps! Not the prisoners...the media who is upset about this and consider it torture. What parent of a preschooler has not been subjected to hours of Sesame Street music for extended periods of time. Now if you really want to talk about excruciating musical torture, play looped versions of Clinton or potUS Arpege State of the Union speeches, OR pump in the Barney or Mr Rogers Neighborhood theme songs on a 24/7 basis. --- Online headline: "Woman Finds Baby Bird With 2 Heads, 3 Beaks" -- Ooops, my bad. Had heard the DIM&DUMBERats were redesigning the symbol of the president to reflect potUS Arpege's talents of reading TeleprompTors while saying three different things to three different audiences at the same time. --- The latest from barackobama.com: "The outside spending we've been planning for is officially here. Just yesterday we learned that shadowy conservative groups are going to spend $1 billion to tear down the President." -- "Just yesterday we learned"? Is this the same potUS Arpege who claims to have done the research on Osama bin Laden, and claims he needs a second term to redo HELL-thSCare? Hey potUS Arpege, 'shadowy conservative groups' don't have to spend a dime to 'tear down' your presidency, you've done that all by yourself. Conservative groups are just doing the mainstream media's job they've ignored for the past 5 years. --- What needs to be on the next New York City ballot is a referendum to change the title of the head of the city from "Mayor" to "Nanny". Even if restaurants do stop selling 'sugary soft drinks' in larger than 16 ounce glasses, don't NYC customers get free refills? --- L-E headline/story: "SpaceX Dragon returns to earth in old-fashioned splashdown * Noted (Elon) Musk: “It really shows that commercial spaceflight can be successful. I mean, this mission worked first time right out the gate.” * Musk, the billionaire behind PayPal and Tesla Motors, aims to launch the next supply mission in September under a steady contract with NASA, and insists astronauts can be riding Dragons to and from the space station in as little as three or four years. " -- Once again, private industry shows it can operate old government monopolies better. Now the government needs to turn over the US Postal service mail delivery to UPS/FedEx, and social services to church groups. --- L-E headline: "Defense of Marriage Act heads to U.S. Supreme Court * Appeals court rules DOMA restrictions unconstitutional" -- It's about time that the appeal of non criminal issues be sent directly from the states to the US Supreme Court. US Constitutionality issues do not need a mid-management opinion. --- From L-E editorial: "Even with Georgia’s and the nation’s employment picture slowly getting brighter, there still aren’t enough jobs. But what’s at least as much a problem, certainly in the long term, is that there are high-skill jobs available and a shortage of workers qualified to do them. * According to a 2011 Georgia Department of Labor survey, there are as many as 5,000 technical jobs in the state, with employers anxious to fill them." -- Once again, the effect of a dumbed-down secondary education curriculum rears its ugly head. Students being graduated without basic work skills, or in need of remedial college courses is not what will solve this dilemma. --- Having seen "Mirror, Mirror", and pretty much decided against seeing "Snow White & the Hunstman", I'm glad my children are pretty much grown, and that my granddaughter is too young to watch the TV ad trailers. I want to limit her to the animated Disney version of "Snow White". --- L-E headline: "SPURRIER PUSHES FORWARD WITH PLAN TO PAY ATHLETES " -- Oh, and what's he gonna do when a player wants to be traded, or wants a performance raise and a 5 year scholarship extension, or the team joins a union and calls for a walk-out. Spurrier is one of those icons that Forrest Gump would describe as 'stupid does'. --- L-E headline: "Obama says he regrets 'Polish death camp' gaffe " -- And he certainly should! Psst, hey Mr Polish Ambassador, we'll have more flexibility to apologize properly after the November elections; pass that on to your president, Bronislaw Komorowski. ---
