Online story: "The world’s richest man is apparently making a lot of money off a government program aimed at helping the poor Americans. * Every time someone gets a phone through Lifeline, a government program that gives phones to low-income Americans, TracPhone, a company in which Mexican telecom mogul Carlos Slim has a controlling stake, nets $10, Fox News reports. The company’s CEO, Frederick “F.J.” Pollak, who is a major Obama donor, also makes a profit from the data plans and minutes beneficiaries of the Lifeline program buy. * The Lifeline program has been pushed into the spotlight recently after a video surfaced of an Obama supporter saying she would be voting for the president because he gave her a free phone. Though the woman credited Obama for her phone, the president didn’t start Lifeline; it began in 1984 -- Ronald Reagan was president then, for your information -- as a landline-only program, and President Clinton expanded it to include cell phones in 1996, according to the Atlantic Wire." -- What started out as a conservative's "lifeline" to the poor has been converted to a DIM&DUMBERat campaign bribery tool and donation source, and diverting millions of dollars to the Mexican economy.

Online story: "A Wisconsin school district has ordered a joint public-private school football team to change its logo – in the middle of the season — after a lone parent said the inclusion of a bishop’s hat and cross was a violation of the U.S. Constitution. * The school district has a unique partnership with a Messmer, private Roman Catholic high school. In 2000 the two small schools joined forces to create a football co-op. * The new logo was created a few months ago by a Shorewood student and put on football helmets in August. Football coaches from both schools along with high school administrators signed off on the project. * The new logo included a greyhound logo of Shorewood and a bishop’s hat with a cross that represented Messmer." -- When is Christian persecution in America going to end? We are the majority, yet the only religion expected to... no, demanded by government... to turn the other cheek incessantly.

Something to think about: The liquor store at River Rd & Veterans Parkway has its normally-devoted-to-selling-alcohol sign worded to ask that we vote against selling alcohol on Sundays. Maybe the legislative group pushing this should take notice.

In 2008, potUS Oblamewhitie said of Joe Biden, "no one messes with Joe". In 2012, potUS Oblamewhitie now hopes " Joe please don't mess up".

---

Here's a question that needs answering: How many of our high school graduates go off to college needing to take remedial courses rather than courses in the regular curriculum? Or does the school system take no interest once students are graduated?

---

What's it going to take for South Carolina to get a little respect in the SEC? After manhandling UGA dawgs Saturday, they are the underdog to LSU which lost to FL.

---

For the media to have been so vicious with Bush43 at intelligence failures prior to 9.11.01 and regarding weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, the media seems pretty OK with potUS Oblamewhitie blaming faulty intelligence as why he blamed a video as the reason Ambassador Stevens died.

---

All those media wonks who supported potUS Oblamewhitie got their just desserts for not bothering to actually read/question his resume in 2008. Bet they'll finally get around to actually reading/questioning the HELL-thScare bill sometime real soon.

A couple/three years ago, all students at one high school were given overpriced laptops loaded with security/tracking software. Now would be a good time for the school board to report on the status of that 'experiment'. Did grades improve, and are all the laptops accounted for?

This is my entry into the Lays "new flavor" contest: "Bull Chip" - flavored with Heinz 57 Sauce to go great with backyard grilling." Go online and vote for it... please.

L-E headline/story: "Experts: Warming means more Antarctic ice * Climate change skeptics have seized on the Antarctic ice to argue that the globe isn't warming and that scientist are ignoring the southern continent because it's not convenient. But scientists say the skeptics are misinterpreting what's happening and why." -- Are you confused yet? We have more ice, actually, a record amount of ice, because of global warming? It must be nice to be a scientist and be able to rearrange facts to suit your goal.

---

L-E story: "New York - Two Americans won the Nobel Prize in chemistry Wednesday for studies of how the cells in our bodies pick up hormones, smells, flavors and light - work that is key in developing better medicines." -- Wanna bet that McDonalds and Burger King try to hire them to convert their data into making hamburgers and fries more appealing to their customers before any medicines are developed?

Interesting story about Shelnutt/Peters today. Mark Shelnutt claims to have handled lots of his clients money but never produced any cash receipts for any of it, but he can produce a signed loan agreement made with a judge. IRS, Georgia Bar Association, US Federal Court... why aren't you jumping on Shelnutt's records and reportings?

---

L-E's "Quotable": "The Constitution only gives people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself." - Benjamin Franklin, American statesman, journalist and inventor (1706-1790) -- Hmmm, bet this has never been the campaign motto of a DIM&DUMBERat candidate.

Amazing... a murder suspect has fired his court appointed Public Defender lawyer because the suspect feels he was not effectively represented in two other cases handled by the Public Defender's office. Why has the court system let this man out in public again?

---

L-E headline: "Charter School Amendment * State charter schools: Viable option or plot? * Advocates tout alternative to bad public schools; critics say it's a money grab" -- Well "the critics" (lead by our school board) are more of a money grabber than any advocates. The new charter schools will actually get less money per child that the MCSD, but the MCSD wants to keep all for themselves in spite of not having a track record producing improved results. Additionally, any new charter schools will have to prove their effectiveness or be disbanded, and that is not a condition put on the shoulders of the MCSD schools or board.... but it should be.

---

One of the complaints heard from teachers/school administrators alike, is that parents need to be more involved in their children's education. It might be possible if the MCSD made sure math books carried all the basic aspects of the formulas/processes of the math problems so parents could actually refresh their math knowledge and help at home.
