From the "a lesson all politicians should value" department - Last night, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, under the admiring and grateful eye of President Trump and others, committed to undertake his duties as a US Supreme Court as defined by our Constitution. As he addressed the Nation, Judge Kavanaugh said, “I was not appointed to serve one party or one interest, but to serve one nation,”. Let that sink in.... now, ask your elected Congresspersons if they feel the same.. they were elected to serve our nation.

Thought it was rather hypercritical..as well as bloviated, of former President Obama to criticize Judge Kavanaugh for enjoying a beer or two, since Obama not only held much celebrated "Beer Summits ", but also had a beer brewing facility built in the White House.

M/C L-E headline: "Kavanaugh accuser Ford nominated for UNC award for her ‘courage’ and ‘inspiration’ -- Tell you what, I'd like to see Christine Blasey's high school transcript and SAT scores to see how she was admitted to UNCCH. She swore her school work suffered her last 2 years. Getting accepted to UNCCH as an out-of-state student is extremely tough, and pretty much impossible if your grades are not in the top percentile.

You know, the Despicorats number one issue for November use to be about Obamacare..When this dissipated from being a voter concern, Despicorats had nothing else so now they promise to impeach Trump and Kavanaugh. Again, the Despicorats have no issue..no message...to woo insightful voters into their camp.

Online headline:"Hillary, Bill Clinton to go on tour this year" -- Hmmm..may I suggest a tour of federal prisons.

Last week, there was a trial in Rome, GA involving the shooting death of a Columbus man, allegedly by two other Columbus men. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes for a jury to find the two not guilty of all charges. Having served on juries, I'm shocked that a jury could even be organized and go over the charges in that little of time, but even more so that there could be any deliberation and vote on each charge. The M/C L-E did great injustice in not covering the trial first hand, but did even more injustice with the pathetic report of the trial results. I'd like to know if there were any gun powder residue tests made on the two men charged when they were first brought in...and whether there was video evidence from the gas station where the clerk overheard their conversation. I'm just rambling because there are questions not answered that the L-E could...and should ..have covered.

Alan Dershowitz..a self-declared liberal and Democrat, brought up a real issue. How can the ACLU go back in front of the full US Supreme Court panel? No judge can totally disassociate themselves from what they saw Judge Kavanaugh endure.

In typical liberal form, Taylor Swift, another celebrity-without-a-clue backhandedly endorses a liberal Tennessee Senatorial candidate by saying she will vote against the Republican candidate. Notice she doesn't post a valid reason to vote "FOR" the Despicorat.

Online headline/story: "UGA planning $53 million renovation of high-rise student tower * Brumby Hall is an approximately 214,000-square-foot high-rise residence hall constructed in 1966 that contains 950 beds and primarily serves first-year students. * The Board of Regents is now seeking bids from architects to design the project, with bids due Oct. 12. Construction is anticipated to begin in May 2019." -- Hmmm... two things stand out here to address...First is the .. well, for the lack of another more politically correct word, stupidity of announcing how much the Regents plan on spending BEFORE letting out bids...We already know the bids will be in that vicinity. Secondly is the contrast of costs planned for renovating 214,000 square feet at $247.00 a square ft versus Mayor Tom-LYING-son's projected $110,000,000.00 for 277,000 square feet for the ONLY 47 year old Government Center. That's $397.00 a square ft (without furniture etc)

Online headline: "Watchdog presses FEC for audit on Maxine Waters fundraising practices" -- I hope this includes her distributions as well. I still do not understand why a person is allowed to live in one Congressional District while representing another one... and she cannot even VOTE for HERSELF. We had the same situation here in GA when Ossoff ran against Handel in the GA 6th Special Election.

Online headline: "COLIN POWELL SAYS DONALD TRUMP HAS TURNED AMERICA FROM 'WE THE PEOPLE' TO 'ME THE PRESIDENT'" -- Colin or Colon? Hard to tell with what comes out of him.

From the "CBS.. Can't Become Sidetracked.." department - Online story: "t would be natural for Madam Secretary‘s protagonist to think twice about her unannounced Oval Office dreams, given that that very room was the site of a lethal act of terrorism in the CBS series’ Season 5 premiere. * The episode opened with the attack, which took place as leaders from India and Pakistan gathered at the White House to sign a memorandum of understanding between the two countries. A giant explosion rocked President Dalton’s office, and it was unclear who — including Stevie, who’d been in attendance — had survived." -- Seriously... a bomb IN the Oval Office... wanna bet whether the writers at Can't Become Sidetracked would have written in an Oval Office "bomb scene" if Hellary had won?

From the "WalletHub Lists" department - Online story: "When it comes to raising a family, Georgia checks plenty of big boxes, including rising home values, job opportunities and income growth. * Analysts at personal finance website WalletHub recently crunched the numbers to determine which of the Peach State’s 104 cities are most conducive to family life. * They compared the cities across four key dimensions: family life and fun; education; health and safety; affordability and socioeconomics. * Those dimensions were further evaluated using 21 relevant metrics, ranging from playgrounds per capita, quality of school system, housing affordability and unemployment rate. Only the “city proper” was considered. * Of the 104 Georgia cities on the list, three in North Fulton made the top 10." -- Once again, Columbus looks pitiful.. 57th is where we fall in the list.. we are rated downstream from even the "best of the worst". Not exactly a legacy building block for Mayor Tom-LYING-son to pursue in her political quests. This doesn't look to good on Congressman Bishop's resume` either.. Columbus is ranked 57th, Macon is ranked 59th, and Albany is ranked 89th..
