What do Paul Krugman, David Brooks, Thomas L. Friedman, Maureen Dowd, Charles M. Blow, Ross Douthat, Roger Cohen, Gail Collins, and Nicholas Kristof have in common? Give up? They are all columnist for the New York Time? Oh, and they are all members of a f=diversity fraud.. of the 10, 8 are men, and 2 are women and only 1 is black.
Then there's the Board of directors: Mark Thompson, Dean Baquet, James Bennet, Roland A. Caputo, Joseph Kahn, Davis Perpich, Ellen C. Schultz, Arthur Sulzberger, William Bardeen, Diane Brayton, Stephen Dunbar-Johnson, Merideth Kopit Levien, and Nick Rockwell.. you guessed it.. of the 13, 10 are men, 3 are women, and only 1 is black.

Have you seen the ads for bringyourbibletoschool.com? It's asking students to take their Bible to school this Friday, October 4, 2018. I haven't seen any comments/statements about it..one way or the other.. in our local media or from the school system or board.

From the "it's about to get interesting, " department - Online headline/story: "Minnesota Senate candidate calls on state to investigate Keith Ellison domestic abuse allegations * Karin Housley, the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate, has officially requested an investigation into the allegations of domestic abuse against Rep. Keith Ellison." -- Hmmm.. once again, it's a Republican looking out for women's rights.. Obviously, Ms. Housley's Despicorat opponent is one of the 95% of Minnesota Democrats polled and found Ms Monahan's claim was not valid.. Guess the 95% believed the bruised and batter face of Ellison's girlfriend were "photo-shopped".

From the "MSNBC.. Most Stories Nothing But Crap.." department - Online story: "MSNBC anchor Katy Tur defended Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) from President Trump's criticism this week, saying the senator "took full responsibility for what he called a few misplaced words" regarding his false claim that he served in Vietnam. * "When he was confronted with the fact that he didn’t actually serve in Vietnam, he was only in the Marine reserve at time, he said, 'I meant the Vietnam era,' but took full responsibility for what he called a few misplaced words," Tur concluded." -- Actually, and this is from the same story, "In 2003, Blumenthal said of soldiers returning from the Iraq War at a rally attended by 100 military families that, "When we returned [from Vietnam], we saw nothing like this. Let us do better by this generation of men and women.” * In 2010, Blumenthal, who received five military deferments before enlisting in the Marine Reserves, said he may have "misspoken" about his service but would not allow "anyone to take a few misplaced words and impugn my record of service to our country.” * “On a few occasions I have misspoken about my service, and I regret that and I take full responsibility,” Blumenthal said at news conference at a Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Hartford, Conn. “But I will not allow anyone to take a few misplaced words and impugn my record of service to our country.”".. Hmm... MSNBC should really be called out by the FCC.. obviously MSNBC does not practice what it's licensed to do.

From the "Dershowitz nails it" department - Online headline: "Alan Dershowitz: We now live in an age that borders on sexual McCarthyism" -- I use not to care for Dershowitz.. he always seemed to be in a "protect the Clintons mode at all times. For the last couple of years, he's morphed.. and has realized he he must defend what's important about the law... integrity...I like the new Dershowitz.. but even so, I'm staying prepared for a relapse.

Despicorats are scrambling now, and are trying to get out of their own way! Sen Blumenthal says that Dr Ford's accusations against Kavanaugh are now "alleged" rather than fact.

---
Despicorats must be in panic mode...they've created martyrdom for Kavanaugh, and America's corporate world just went crazy with excitement over President Trump's new trade agreement with Canada completing the NAFTA collapse.

---
From the "wait a minute, he's giving us what we asked..what do we do now" department - President Trump has OK'd interviewing Swetnik...reminds me of a Br'er Rabbit moment only Br'er Donkey has thrown President Trump into the brier patch....

Unbelievable! I didn't think it possible but the legion of voters who know Sen Jeff Flake IS a "flake" just grew by one... Jeff Flake himself! Flake just admitted that if he was not retiring this year and was actively running for re-election, he would NOT have done what he did.

I just saw Joe Willie Namath in a TV ad...Does anyone...ANYONE..believe Broadway Joe Namath called the Medicare Help Line? Joe may be better sticking to pantyhose ads..

---
M/C L-E headline: "Does Columbus need a law against sexually themed short-term lodging?" -- Good grief! Wouldn't this qualify as a "house of I'll repute"...and already be against the law? Would should happen is the applicant should be publicly identified, and the applicant should be railed and investigated for any other enterprises he/she is involved in.

Sen Dick Durbin introduced a letter at the Kavanaugh hearings claiming the ABA now wanted another FBI investigation..What deception! Turns out to be a personal opinion of the ABA president, not the Committee that highly...enthusiastically...endorsed Judge Kavanaugh's confirmation to the US Supreme Court... and has reconfirmed its opinion.

Boy did the USA players get their comeuppance in the Ryder Cup Matches. Maybe in the future, more consideration should be given to US players "driving accuracy" rather than their "driving distance". The Europeans' set up the course by narrowing the fairways so that inaccurate drives ended up in miserable lies in the rough.. I sorta liked it..Maybe the new standards for setting up PGA and USGA courses should be the same, shorter and more favorable to accuracy, and courses could be structured to allow regular golfers to enjoy them.

Kanye West announced he's changing his name to 'Ye'... in future elections, Republicans should start their speeches and campaign ads with, "Hear Ye, Hear Ye!!!

Stacey Abrams showed her "true color" on Saturday... an advertising airplane flew over Athens, GA trailing a message "attributed to @BRIANKEMP, as he was attending the game.. guess she doesn't know that all DAWGS, regardless of color, bleed red, not orange (like TN and TX). Hmm.. sorta a tale of a Good DAWG, and a bad dog.

In September last year, we read about the death of a 17 year-old girl, a foster child in Columbus, who was under the care of "Cedar Tree Family and Children Services" when she ran away from a local hotel she was housed in...it was suspect that the "Cedar Tree Family and Children Services" organization was only licensed to to house 6 male adolescents between 12 & 18.. Has anyone heard any update on any investigation of "Cedar Tree Family and Children Services"?

Online headline: "Obama backs Ocasio-Cortez in new wave of midterm endorsements, snubs Beto" -- How unusual.. Obama did not mention his support of Bet O'Rourke in Texas... against Cruz, no less. Obama also omitted supporting Keith Ellison in the Minnesota District Attorney race. My guess is Obama didn't support O'Rouke because he doesn't believe O'Rouke can win, and he didn't endorse Ellison, because Michelle would have killed him.

---
Poor Willie Nelson.. his support of Beto will undoubtedly kill his and his sons' futures in their careers, but there may be more to this.. perhaps Willie is showing the long term effects of marijuana usage.. and he believes he is supporting BEVO, the U of Texas longhorn steer mascot.

From the "Fred Sanford - It's the big one! Elizabeth, I'm coming to see you!" department - M/C L-E headline: "NORTH AMERICAN TRADE DEAL * Trump calls pact ‘truly historic’" -- Wow! the M/C L-E printed this story on the front page, above the fold, on the day after it happened! And it's the TRUTH!

---
and another from the "Fred Sanford - It's the big one! Elizabeth, I'm coming to see you!" department - M/C L-E headline/story: "Columbus soldier’s remains are finally coming home after 68 years * More than 68 years after losing his life within the first month of the Korean War, Columbus native Sgt. 1st Class James Silas Streetman Jr. soon will be coming home. * The remains of Streetman, who was only 20 years old when he died in July 1950, were finally identified on Aug. 31 by the Defense Department using DNA analysis and other X-rays, materials and information. * “In 1994, we had a memorial service for him at Fort Benning. But this time we’re going to be celebrating his life, the life that he gave for his country,” Street-man’s baby sister and Columbus resident Sharon Streetman Ray said Monday." -- You can knock me over with a feather! Two important stories about Trump successes and the L-E actually ran them both on the front page.. what happened?

I sent this letter to various executives at the New York Times today:

I can remember when my grandfather, James Dupont Kirven, Sr., subscribed to the Sunday Times.. as I got to my teen years in the 1960s, he would give me the crossword puzzle to work, promising me $1.00 when I finished and returned it within 24 hours. I didn't collect much the first year, but as I got older, it was an automatic dollar. As I got older, I stopped accepting the $1.00 as the reward was his smile. He died in 1974.. I continued doing the Sunday Times Puzzle for a decade or so as my mother and I would vie for who could finish it the fastest. When she died in 1990, so did my interest in the puzzle.

I knew the NYT then.. we traveled 6 to 10 times a year to the market weeks in NYC, and stayed at the Statler.. across the street from Madison Square Gardens, and down the street from Independent Retailers Syndicate owned by Bernard Cohen and his son, Jimmy. We ate breakfast in the McAlpine below the hotel, and our waiter (we would be cursed if we ever sat at a table other than his) would know we were "in the house" and made sure we had "grits" every morning, and a copy of the NYT was at my seat. I loved the NYT..but, no more... this saddens me.. I've watched painfully as the source of "all the news that's fit to print" has digressed to "all the news that's 's***' to print" (I will not digress as you have).
Today, I did a little research on the decision makers of the NYT.. .

This is the result:

What do Paul Krugman, David Brooks, Thomas L. Friedman, Maureen Dowd, Charles M. Blow, Ross Douthat, Roger Cohen, Gail Collins, and Nicholas Kristof have in common? Give up? They are all columnist for the New York Time? Oh, and they are all members of a diversity fraud.. of the 10, 8 are men, and 2 are women and only 1 is black.

I'd like to replace all the mirrors in your office bathrooms.. the NYT does an awful lot of unsubstantiated finger pointing... but when your writers look into the current bathroom mirrors, no one sees themselves as the world now does.
Non-anonymously,

Hal A. Kirven
Columbus, GA
