Hearing that the Astros won the American League Championship, and the Braves were 1 game away from winning the National League Championship, the possibility of a Braves/Astros WORLD SERIES became real! My wife and I talked about it,, and decided to actually WATCH the Braves'Dodgers game... and WE DID.. our first MLB game in YEARS (our last was taking our barely teen daughter and friend ..she'll be 25 next month.. to an actual game because American Idol winner Scotty McCreery was having a concert following the game)! The only Braves player's name we knew was Acuna (but he didn't play as he's recovering from an injury suffered during the regular season). Braves WON! I am so excited that the World Series will be between the Braves and Astros.. it reminds me of Glenn Davis being a Columbus Astro earning his way to "the Show" and becoming a full-fledged MLB STAR.. I remember seasons when I'd watch the Columbus Astros one night, then drive to Atlanta to see the Houston Astros versus Atlanta Braves the next day. Those were good times for Columbus, GA.. Now Glenn Davis is a long-serving Columbus Councilor.. Hey, Glenn! How about reserving all the seats at Truist Stadium and getting tickets for all the property owners in Council District 2 free tickets.. well, you could buy them with T.A.D. money.

This story has just become accessible to me.. it's two weeks old but IMPORTANT! Online L-E headline/story: " Columbus Council approves $14M to help fund new parking garage at riverfront development * Columbus Council unanimously approved a modification request Tuesday for additional TAD funds to support the construction of a shared underground parking facility and “certain public infrastructure improvements,” according to the agenda item, for Riverfront Place, a 7.5-acre, mixed-use development by the Bradley Company. The development site along Front Avenue near 14th Street contains apartment complex The Rapids, a Trevioli restaurant, a park and the newly constructed Hotel Indigo." -- Wow! Columbus Council has become a "lending bank" off the backs of Columbus' property taxpayers...Council recently spent $25,000,000.00 buying up property that's older than the Government Center it wants to tear down, and projected another $25,000,000.00 to make it habitable, just weeks before putting a $400,000,000.00 SPLOST tax referendum on an upcoming ballot (Nov 2nd) and is now putting this new $14 Million to "complement" giving a private company $38 Million in T.A.D. funds for project that gives reduced property taxes for 10 years. Meanwhile back in reality, crime soars, and potholes in our streets. Now.. when the issue/concept of T.A.D. projects was "sold" to Columbus by former Mayor Queen TT Tom-LYING-son, "T.A,D.'s" were a tool to encourage re-development in neighborhoods in poor/dilapidated areas of Columbus.. There's nothing "poor" about the "apartment complex The Rapids, a Trevioli restaurant, a park and the newly constructed Hotel Indigo."

Cobb County could really make MLB and Stacey Abrams pay for what they did in July when they stole the All-Star game from Atlanta (and the Hank Aaron Memorial program planned)! Cobb County could deny use of Truist Stadium for the World Series and make MLB find another site... maybe in Dodger Stadium since it won't have anything scheduled there...Yes, Cobb County could just say it was being saved in case Stacey Abrams wanted to have a voter registration drive or an Atlanta early voting site or ballot drop off box there... Oh! I know.. how about a "Stacey Abrams Appreciation Night"! "Yeah", as Jon Lovitz might say, "That's the ticket!"

---
The latest FBI reports refer to soaring crime rates as "an uptick".. Yeah .. right... Personally, seeing homicides in Columbus, GA go from 46 in 2020 to 60 plus through the first 10 months on 2021 is NOT an "uptick"... this is a TSUNAMI!

WRBL-TV3 Online headline/story: "Tweaks could be coming to Chattahoochee River whitewater course in advance of upcoming world competitions * Rick McLaughlin has been in Columbus this week and that poses some interesting questions. * Who is Rick McLaughlin? * McLaughlin is the Colorado-based engineer who designed the two-mile whitewater course built into the Chattahoochee River. * He designs courses all over the nation and hasn’t been in Columbus since 2017. * One of the things they were exploring is making it possible to adjust the waveshaper quickly, changing the wave on the fly" -- Good grief! We just learned that $26 MILLION has been spent on it already (way more than we previously heard was spent on the "Pave the Chattahoochee" project) and now "they" want to tinker with a mechanical "wave shaper" that works.... First... who is going to PAY for any changes/updates "they" come up with?.. Secondly, why do they want to "fix something" that ain't "broke".. trying to make the waveshaper manipulative "on the fly" means some sort of electronic device would have to be installed, and if you bought a new car with all the electronic bells & Whistles, you KNOW hey are destined to fail... at just the most inopportune time and manner. Go away "tweakers"!

Note: Did you know that the original plan to remove the Eagle & Phenix dam was projected to restore the Chattahoochee to it's 1850's state.. and was going to cost about $2 Million privately donated dollars?

I'm a bit confused... JoKKKe Biden said he has no solution for the high priced gasoline problem that he's responsible for. Now, usually when he speaks, I know it's a lie and plan accordingly.. I seem to want to believe him...now... but I know better! Now.. what are we gonna do? Liars have a great deal of credibility issues when they slip a "truth" into the conversation...

Sorry, I cannot muster much sympathy for Alec Baldwin... he was as careless shooting a gun as he is with shooting off his mouth. I cannot remember ever picking up one of my guns, much less a gun handed to me by someone else, when I didn't check out whether it was loaded or not. That's the first cardinal rule of guns.. and it's not just because of safety... it's also because you do not want to be in a firing situation, pull the trigger... and suffer the embarrassment of an unintentional dry fire.

Note: "Prop gun".... a "prop gun" is not a "toy or fake or reproduction gun" as one would think when people discuss "Hollywood props"...

Political cartoon of the day: Let's go, Brandon?

Hmmm... well, I know lot of people who have always thought of JoKKKe Joe more of as "Number 2"

Online headline: "DHS pays over $455K to build ‘security fencing’ around Biden’s beach home" -- Hmmm... and isn't it the stance of Democrats that "Walls don't work"?.. Of course.. this "wall" may be intended to keep JoKKKe Biden from leaving and to make sure MSM doesn't get close enough to ask a question if he does get outside by accident.

From the "it was just a matter of time" department - Online headline/story: "Biden now blames longshoremen, has trapped himself in a 'green' box as inflation spikes * President Biden found a new group to blame for his inflation and supply chain crises in his Baltimore town hall appearance and simultaneously revealed himself to be unaware of basic economics, the panel on "The Five" discussed Friday. * Host Kennedy pointed to a clip of the president claiming part of the problem with the stalled ship traffic at ports is "longshoremen don't always get along with the business folks there" " -- In true Socialist style.. if Utopia fails, it's only because the right people were not in charge...

---
Online headline: "McAuliffe shrugged off Northam blackface photo as 'dumb mistake 40 years ago' months after calling it racist" -- Of course, if Northam had been a Republican, McAuliffe would have been for decapitation...Please notice how the VA Democratic Party abandoned Black Lt Governor Justin Fairfax then.. AND during their primary (Fairfax got but 3% of Primary's votes).

---
I'm still not comfortable at declaring Brian Laundrie "dead".. I guess there has been so much time to manipulate the scenario, and I've read enough books/seen enough movies about manipulating physical evidence, that I wonder if another person was killed and his dental records were swapped with Laundrie's.. when... if... I feel different in a few weeks/months/years.. I will update you...

WRBL-TV3 Online headline: "California teacher placed on leave after video shows her imitating Native American dance, wearing headdress" -- Good grief! Senator Warren not only falsely claimed to be of Native American heritage, she falsely applied as a Native American to get preferred treatment for a teaching job at Harvard... and she's still got both jobs!

---
WRBL-TV3 headline: "Columbus Police: Mother arrested in 3-month-old son’s death" -- 59th or 60th? and don't forget at least 3 pending victims who we last heard were in
"critical" condition, or the 4 "vehicular homicides" that somehow don't count..and we still have 2-plus months to go in 2021!

---
WRBL-TV3 Online headline/story: "14 year-old fatally shot in Columbus * The victim was 14 years old and his body will be sent to Atlanta for an autopsy. * At this time CPD says there are no other confirmed injuries from this shooting." -- It seems we can't catch our breath before another homicide happens.. Praying for it to stop needs a lot of help from our liberal politicians and media!

Was looking at an article about dinosaur fossils and teeth ...the carnivores had sharp and pointed teeth, and the herbivores had fat molar type teeth.. Since humans are equipped with both types, what we eat is more what we choose than determined by design.

---
Online headline: "Biden says he hasn't had time to visit Southern Border, admits he probably should" -- JoKKKe Biden has definitely re-earned his name..... "hasn't had time".... whatta JOKKKE!

WTVM-TV9 headline/story: "Muscogee County School District graduation rate surpasses state * The school district’s rate increased to 91.2-percent - increasing 1.8 percentage points from 2020. This marks the highest graduation rate for the district since the four-year cohort rate has been calculated. * Dr. Lewis also said the steady improvement in graduation rates are indicative of the school district’s progress toward excellence and equity of opportunity that are consequential for future student and community outcomes." -- Good GRIEF!!! Whatta joke.. I truly find it disconcerting that our educational leadership feels that students excelled during the 2020-2021 school year when so much was spent on TV time.. I want to see progress test reports from this fall.. especially in reading... and I want to see how many students in all grades are reading at better than the minimum grade efficiency. Oh! as October is soon drawing to an end, I'd like to know the official student enrollment count for the MCSD system....

Worth repeating: The scariest aspect of listening to Atty General Merrick Garland is remembering that Obama-Biden nominated Garland as a US Supreme Court Justice!

From the "this is why I call it california" department - Online headline: "California unemployment claims are one-third of nation’s total while Texas cranks up its job creation * California's unemployment rate stands at 7.5%, as businesses continue fleeing the high-tax state" -- Hmmm... "california".. because all the CAPITALS have left!

---
From the "Hey P.E.T.A.... you, too, Hollywood.... show us your relevance!" department -
Online headline/story: "#ArrestFauci trends on Twitter as doctor faces criticism for controversial virus research, testing on dogs * Fauci has been widely criticized for allegedly funding inhuman testing on dogs with taxpayer dollars * Twitter users posted the hashtag calling out Fauci over reports that hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars were used to subject dogs to cruel testing before ultimately killing them." -- Hey, Libs....The truth shall set you free! And don't forget the damage Fauci has done to the reputation of Organ-grinders' monkeys!

Seems former President Obama is worried about "fake news" about all the chaos created by Biden decisions and the VA governor's race... what's really the news story is that Obama now has "fake concern" based on the future of liberalism......

---
Online headline: "Riz Ahmed says the way Muslims are portrayed in movies is 'messed up'" -- Hmmm... I'm guessing he hasn't seen any videos about Taliban rule in Afghanistan... well, unless his only source of videos is CNN/MSNBC.

Hey, Columbus.. this you should know before considering the $400,000,000.00 SPLOST we're voting on in a week.. There's been $83,000.00 funneled through "Improve Columbus, LLC" which has sent $64.734.60 to Savannah, GA's Monroe Marketing which produced the mailed the flier we received 10 days or ago which attributed the origin to a Columbus firm called "Forward Columbus" which had it's state corporate status DISSOLVED in 2018. As expected, the money donated to "Improve Columbus" was by firms and people who will directly benefit from the project construction money. I don't "begrudge" that, but it bothers me that they are not doing it upfront with Columbus, and that they are using a non-Columbus marketing firm. Even more egregious is that the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce has contributed $6,500.00 to this organization, and the Chamber gets a huge chunk of tax dollars given to it by our Council.. This definitely reeks of conflict of interest! Vote "NO"!

---
Online headline: "Bibb Schools approves $1,000 supplement for full- and part-time employees" -- Hey. Columbus. GA... it's been happening here, too! But what about next year... and the years after that... when school district employees take it for granted that these federal fund backed "supplements" will continue... but don't?

---
Online headline: "Widespread Neighborhood Opposition to Atlanta's Comprehensive Development Plan" -- Speak up Columbus! Council has run amok with spending our money! How can the UpTown area with high price apartments, restaurants, and amenities qualify for T.A.D. tax funds/reductions under the conditions told us its purpose would be? Vote "NO" on the $400,000,000.00 SPLOST!

The City Mills complex sure is a gem, but there are an awful lot of "signs" (as in "signs, signs, everywhere where a sign). Wonder if there's a Historic Marker pointing out where the building built by Horace King stood before being wrongfully torn down..
