Hey, Columbus, GA Council..Remember how I mentioned a cost estimate for a new basic 1,650 sq ft building on a City owned property at being between $320K to $360K? Well, now, as long as Council is looking into certain aspects of the off Victory Drive affordable homes project, and since cost-per-foot pricing has INFLATED to the $200.00 (and higher) cost per square foot for construction, perhaps NeighborWorks CEO Cathy Williams can... will... reinforce the housing ranges she's promoted at $120,000.00... I would think it would be hard to build a home for less than 800 to 1,000 square feet, and at current rates, that would make homes begin at between $160K-$200K in an area dominated by homes $90K and below.

It was basically an empty "threat" Resident Biden threw at Putin.... Resident Biden's "photo op" statement to ban Russian boats from landing at American ports... It's empty because Biden made this threat AFTER China and Russia reached an agreement for China to buy Russian fossil fuels that have finally been blocked by European countries... Think about it...Now, Russia sells to China, and China ships it to America... Biden did not ban Chinese ships from landing at our ports.

Think about it... With America's love affair with car racing, do liberals really feel that car racing fans will embrace the Democrats desire to eliminate the gas engines power vehicles? Do Democrats feel the sound of a "Yoga guru's ohmmmmmm" will replace the ROAR of a rev maxed out gasoline engine.

Online headline: "Texas’ Fort Bend County Judge KP George penned a letter to the CEO of The Walt Disney Company inviting the theme park to move from Florida after Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis revoked Walt Disney World’s decades-old special agreement that allowed it to govern itself." -- Good grief!Disney is probably hearing about this "fluff" like we are... reading it across a news site...Hey... why aren't judges removed from office for making pure political rhetoric!

Columbus L-E headline/story: "‘We’ve got to change our direction.’ John Anker aims to become Columbus’ next mayor * Frustrations with incumbent Skip Henderson and other city leaders led Anker to this point. He alleges they have not been transparent, accountable or good stewards of the taxpayers’ money. Anker told the Ledger-Enquirer that his approach will help make the city safer. * His business weathered the COVID-19 pandemic as well as it could, even shifting production toward items like face shields and COVID testing swabs. * Crime and public safety are important, but Anker told the Ledger-Enquirer that transparency and accountability are this election’s biggest issues. * “It relates to everything,” he said. “It’s one of the reasons I’m running because I’m the only person who’s calling out and asking the questions." -- Anker gets it! And Anker is getting my vote, too. I voted for Skip in 2018, but Anker is my choice in 2022. After as many years as Henderson has served as a Councilor and Mayor, he should be running on his accomplishments, not on what he now feels needs to be done.

May 24th TSPLOST vote is that if it's "renewed", there will be another $303,000,000 in arbitrarily needed projects added on to our backs via the extension of the additional 1% TSPLOST tax, but, to get that $303,000,000 dollars in tax revenue, Columbus has to raise $nearly $357,000,000 in sales tax revenues.. Columbus only get 85-cents back for projects for every $1.00 we pay in the tax... To boot, we KNOW that $357,000,000.00 will be taken out of our local economy, but what we don't know is how many of the 16,000 jobs the Chamber insinuates will be for Columbus families.. most of these "projects" will involve GA DOT teams.

I don't know what has happened, but the current and ongoing TSPLOST project list that's "ending" as the NEW TSPLOST is being voted on has a big discrepancy on the Columbus Consolidated Government page:
and the DOT.GA.GOV site:

The CCG site says we have about $102 Million in Columbus projects with about $36 Million not completed while the DOT.GA.GOV site says: Columbus/Muscogee County had $218 Million in projects and $115 Million not completed.
Anker's right! There IS NO TRANSPARENCY coming out of Henderson's office!

Wow...Colorado governor says Disney World should abandon Florida and move to Colorado... Yeah.. right... As if Disney could open up 365 days a year in Colorado's snow prone climate... or Disney could move it's hotels to Colorado, and for that matter, could Disney keep Colorado recreational marijuana out of the park? To boot, Disney World probably issues more Annual Family passes to Florida residents that Colorado had legal and illegal citizens...

You know, I thought that solutions to problems started with discussions and addressing the issue head-on... Friday I heard Resident Biden was going to Seattle to discuss "climate change"/Earth Day, but not the Seattle CRIME issues. Heck... We KNOW it's going to "rain" 200 plus days a year in Seattle... What we need to know is that we can visit and walk down a Seattle street and be safe!

When did this happen! Just read the Cable Guide description of Fox News' 9:00-11.00 AM is "Sandra Smith... and a rotating Anchor".. What happened to Bill Hemmer! I thought the 9:00-11:00 spot was his show...

Online headline: "Exxon is banning the LGBTQ-rights flag from being flown outside their Houston corporate office during pride month in June." -- I'd say it's a smart move for Exxon to stop being so political corporately, but it won't offset Exxon originally deciding not to cut off business connections with Russia a few weeks ago...

Some some Democrats have brought a suit against Representative Marjory Greene in
GA District 14 to get her disqualified from running in the upcoming PRIMARY election. Greene was asked if she had said something to a woman, and Greene said "No.".. Then the prosecutor told her there was a "CNN" report that said she did.... Seriously? A CNN report is being presented as factual evidence... If I was a juror and somebody asked me to believe a CNN "take" on a situation was evidence, I think I'd ask.."OK..where's the secret camera so I know where to look when I break out in a belly-laugh!"

The Major League Baseball season is back.. Has anyone seen a Shicago Cubs game yet? I'm just wondering that if during the traditional 7th Inning song, has the song been altered to "buy me some peanuts and "Cracker Jills"?

And, if one accepts this premise, then the converse must also be true. Anyone who doesn’t achieve their dreams is simply not working hard enough." -- Whatta warped... it is though the building block of the Socialist-Democrat agenda ... opinion... obviously one of a brainwashed Socialist-Democrat strategist . The primary difference of the Republican and Democrat philosophy is that Republicans think the individual should be able to achieve for themselves, and offer help along the way, while the Democrats feel the individual cannot succeed without their help, and really don't want individuals succeed without government aid.

My bride and I went to see "Father Stu" Friday... It's worth the price of admission (though I had a different opinion of the value of the popcorn..).. From the "Red Allen, 'Well how about that!' " department - WTVM-TV9 headline: "Auburn University to dedicate statue of Baseball Hall of Famer, Columbus native" -- Great story about a really good man.. Frank Thomas.. the "Big Hurt"... but you'd think WTVM-TV9 would have mentioned Frank grew up playing baseball near it's headquarters.. He played in the Peach Little League at Lakebottom Park, then later moved up the hill to Columbus High School ...you know.. if Dave Platta hadn't been fired for refusing to get a Covid-19 vaccination.. he'd have remembered this... and it would have been HIGHLIGHTED in the story.

I tell you what.. I'm beginning to see a parallel story to the Ukraine/Putin war.. the invasion of our Southern Border! Resident Biden is allowing our borders states to be overwhelmed by invaders and isn't lifting a finger to help the our border becoming a "no-illegal-crossing-zone"! MSM is quasi-focus on Texas now, but it's just as bad in Arizona and New Mexico, and it's going to backlash on the Socialist-Democrats' stranglehold on BLUE votes...
