My bride and I watched Acuna's record setting event last night, and celebrated with the Braves. Then, when the base was removed as a "historic souvenir", I was amazed at how much bigger the bases are since MLB enlarged them...it looked humongous, and Acuna even had some difficulty "handling it". Then it hit me... the new larger bases shorten the base path between 1st & 2nd, and 2nd & 3rd by 4.5 inches... and for a person stealing a base, that's a huge gain over previous years. This second $100K raise puts him making over $550,000.00 a year overseeing 4,000 +/- employees… hmmm.. that’s a lot less than the number of employees Columbus GA’s Superintendent of Schools
