From the "Democrats are grasping at every straw" department - Online headline: "Flushing federal systems down toilet could return Georgia to days of foul water and air" -- Hmmm...Atlanta itself should be put under Martial Law and the Mayor-Council be evicted,  and until the sewer systems are fixed at the Atlanta taxpayers' expense, no other construction, public or private, be allowed to be started or finished. Atlanta has avoided doing this for at least 30 years. On the other hand, Columbus, GA "bit the bullet" and revamped our system in that same time period.

WTVM-TV9 online headline: "New $27M housing project aims to support Columbus seniors" --  Hmmm $27 Million Dollars for 90 apartments.. that's $300,000.00 for each  unit... There ain't "affordable" public housing until there is AFFORDABLE (and AUDITED) construction costs for taxpayer supplemented rental projects... Think about it... There's an "affordable housing" project off Victory Drive that people can buy an actual house for $150K-to-$200K and become responsible owners of such versus this "Miles Crossing" complex that's costing taxpayers $300,000.00 PER UNIT, and taxpayers will be responsible for upkeep and all public services.

When looking closer at the proposed "round-a-bout" to be built at Double Churches and Whitesville Roads, you have to wonder if anybody from the City of Columbus GA, or the Columbus GA school system has actually been to that location and understands how disruptive such a project will be to existing businesses on all four corners, and also how dangerous to two different schools student which need to cross hat intersection  but vehicles won't be required to come to a full stop when they have to  cross the intersection.

From the "Heard they were "doing it again" department - You know, I'm referring to recruiting/paying "remote workers" to move to Columbus GA and operate from here. All of a sudden, companies and government are demanding those workers to come back in and work from their old offices.. Wonder if any of the first "batch" will either be moving back to their old cities, or getting fired for not coming back in to their offices?
