From the "Bias? What bias?" department - Online story: "(According to the New York Times), Trump has made several moves which could be seen as trying to control or limit the investigation into Russian interference in the election, such as firing FBI Director James Comey" -- First, any "investigation" should have a focus point and goal, this includes "journalistic investigations" as well as prosecutorial ones. Secondly, the New York Times still cannot deal with the fact that Comey was fired for .. well, basically, sedition in Trump's and the American people's eyes.

I do believe the American people are breathing easier.. and better knowing SUCCESSFUL business and military leaders are helping guide America versus the sycophants the Community Organizer surrounded himself from 2008-2016.

Final words on the "Drag Queen" reading issue - actually, the uproar was not over reading books to children, it was about the cartoonish approach. Fortunately, stories were read and the saner heads realized that it was better communication of a life style that more "normal" attire was a better route to a purpose and goal..

M/C L-E headline/story: "Teen faces 12 counts of criminal gang charges after arrest during traffic stop * A teen faces gang participation charges after the vehicle he was driving failed to use a turn signal Friday from Armour Road to Airport Thruway, Columbus police said. * Jeremy Hildebrand, 18, of Columbus was taken into custody without incident during the 10:35 p.m. traffic stop where he didn’t have a state driver’s license. He was wanted on outstanding warrants that included 12 counts of participation in criminal gang activity, one count of kidnapping, hijacking a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He is held without bond in the Muscogee County Jail on the serious charges for a hearing in Recorder’s Court" -- This is not about an 18 year old being stopped for a blinker violation and being found not to have a driver's license.. it's about an 18 year old .. well, a convicted felon who's 18...and how..why...was an 18 year-old convicted felon already out of jail. Society cannot survive when felons know an arrest is just basically a temporary glitch in their lives. It's also about the M/C L-E referring to an already convicted felon being referred to as a "teen".. this "man" voluntarily gave up his childhood a long time ago.

With all the potholes I see when going about my routines, I wonder if there is more than 1 man/crew that is responsible for repairing them.. It is so rare to see any repairs being made that I'd like to know if anyone else has seen any getting fixed in the last month.

M/C L-E story: "The Columbus Historic District, with its unique architecture and close proximity to downtown, is a natural for Airbnb rentals for visitors to the city, be it an entire house, a small cottage or bungalow, or a quiet bedroom. * The Columbus Historic District, with its unique architecture and close proximity to downtown, is a natural for Airbnb rentals for visitors to the city, be it an entire house, a small cottage or bungalow, or a quiet bedroom. * Columbus is moving toward regulating the popular online lodging marketplace called Airbnb, which connects individuals wishing to rent their home, cottage or bedroom to those visiting the city and needing a place to stay. * The city’s Finance Department, along with the Building Inspections and Code Enforcement Department, has developed recommendations to amend a unified development ordinance that would require short-term property renters — referred to as hosts by Airbnb — to complete a number of steps before doing business. * The amended ordinance also would require short-term rental properties to have proper insurance, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers and an exit escape plan in place for guests staying in rental homes. Hosts also would be required to have no unpaid financial obligations to the city before renting, while also notifying property owners of the rentals taking place should the host not own the dwelling themselves. * The new requirements received a mostly cold shoulder from the Columbus Planning Advisory Commission on Aug. 1. Eight members unanimously denied its approval of the ordinance change along the lines that it was being somewhat heavy-handed and placing another layer of regulation and costs on what now is simply a cottage industry in the city." -- The Planning Advisory Commission has this nailed.. This isn't a "Craig's List" operation.. Just to get approved to rent through AirBNB is pretty demanding, and I imagine AirBNB's requirements for hosts are even stricter. Once again, this sort of exposes why Columbus' economic ills have skyrocketed under the Mayor. It also explains why hotel rates are so high in Columbus for value.

Oh.. and why not give the AirBNB hosts a hand to justify all the nickle&dime fees and regulations.. How about fixing the STREETS so visitors don't leave with such a negative memory of what it's like in Columbus...

Did I see Council make a "no call" (so far) on enforcing the penalty for unpaid taxes on a major piece of commercial property at 2800 Manchester Expressway? Look like zero dollars of the 2016 and 2017 tax bills have been paid and are delinquent, and the 2018 tax bill has been sent.

Oh... and has Council ever raised the rent on property that the Mariott uses for parking (Parcel ID 003 014 002) that the Pezold's objected to Council selling? I believe the Pezolds felt it was worth $1.3 MILLION vs the $50K . Seems like the City is not maximizing the value of it's property,, especially considering it's assigned to the Development Authority which is a y=taxpayer funded entity.. OH,, is the Development Authority on the short-list of next City Departments to be audited?

Oh. and let's not forget the latest "gift" to the City by the now defunct "Together 2016/17" group.. that "exercise park" near the RiverWalk..yep, we taxpayers are gonna have to replace and repair it. Online headline: "Brennan is considering legal action to hit back after Trump revoked his security clearance" -- Hmmm... whatta analogy this is.. a big blowhard wolfish pig trying to huff and puff and blow the White House down.

Online headline/story: "Ex-sports doctor Nassar moved to another prison facility * The Federal Bureau of Prisons website on Sunday shows the former Michigan State University and USA Gymnastics doctor is at the Oklahoma Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City. * Nassar's attorneys said last month he was assaulted within hours of being placed in the general population at the Arizona federal prison." -- "assaulted within hours of being placed in the general population"? Well, the only thing better would be if he "had been ASSAULTED for HOURS".. perhaps been "pretzeled" to a position even the best gymnasts cannot achieve.

From the "no wonder our young folks are confused" department - Online story: "A sign at a Houston elementary and middle school that sparked criticism on social media has been removed. * The Houston Independent School District says the sign that read, "The more you act like a lady, the more he'll act like a gentleman," was removed Friday night. * The sign was above a row of lockers in a girls' locker room" -- Good grief.. a quote that enforces a needed 'life lesson" that stood older generations well... for centuries... has been deemed misogynistic. SMH..

M/C L-E headline/story: "From the "we cut the grass every 3 weeks whether it needs it or not" department - M/C headline/story: "Overgrown grass along roads, in cemeteries has residents upset * Near J.R. Allen Parkway along Schomburg Road, a Bridlewood resident wants to know who maintains the right of way that’s suddenly filled with overgrown grass and bushes, while a 65-year-old woman is waiting until grass is cut before she attempts to place flowers on relatives graves in Porterdale and East Porterdale cemeteries. * While the city works to cover overgrown grass in neighborhoods, Biegler said the city appreciates people who mow the frontage at their home." -- Hmmm... the City "appreciates people who mow the frontage at their home"? Coulda fooled me..I have my grass on the right-of-way ant our home cut weekly... year-round, and I do not feel the "appreciation" of the City.. on top of my property taxes, the City charges me extra garbage fees, and I've yet to experience any road resurfacing that would make my home more attractive to people wanting to move into our neighborhood and increase the value of our home..

M/C L-E headline/story: "Spoiler alert: State will start building bike trails at Standing Boy Creek in Columbus * “That” was the public meeting last week about the Standing Boy Creek Wildlife Management Area off old River Road in Columbus, currently used primarily for hunting, hiking, running, birdwatching, fishing, all that outdoorsy stuff." -- "Spoiler alert"? Looks more like a "WARNING".. A warning that hunters will soon have moving targets to enhance their experience.. Maybe the state should require bicyclers to buy/wear ORANGE spandex.
