I want to restate something I wrote yesterday concerning a jury verdict and sentence.. three animals were convicted for heinous acts against humanity, and their victim defied all odds and survived. The three animals have been sentenced to permanent incarceration at the expense of the taxpayers... including the victim...I considered it a "jury fail" like so many we have had in Columbus involving killings..I was wrong.. it was not another "jury fail".. not even a sentencing fail... it was a SYSTEM FAIL! Seems that since the victim did not die from the animals best efforts, the death penalty can not be given.. step up to the plate, legislators.

We went to an educational event last night.. concerning protecting our children and grandchildren from the now ever-present Internet Boogeyman.. it was scarily enlightening.. Jesse Weinberger built her reveal around a quote from Frederick Douglass, "It's easier to build strong children than to repair broken men".. How cryptic in today's world..I want to challenge our School Board to have these words etched into the back walls of the MCSB boardroom. and the Superintendent's office, so they have to see them every time they try to defend a mediocre test result showing that our 3rd graders can't read, or that our overall system test grades are below state average. Again, "It's easier to build strong children than to repair broken men". One only has to look at the newspaper stories of arrests and trials, and the rolls of our jails to understand what is happening.

M/C L-E headline: "Columbus man charged with child pornography after Snapchat search" -- in my item above concerning the event my bride and I =went to see/hear, this exact subject matter was discussed..as well as other "free" sites that are targeted at our children/grandchildren.. it's just another in a long list of stories printed in the M/C L-E that remind us of Douglass' wisdom, ""It's easier to build strong children than to repair broken men". Parents! Take control of your children's environment!

Now the DIMocrats want to blame US employers for hiring illegals based on the situation that illegals wouldn't come here if there weren't jobs. Wait a minute..that has zero, zip, nada with stopping the invasions by illegals. When an illegal gets to Iowa and doesn't have a job, he/she is going to commit crimes to survive. The solution is stopping illegals at the border.

From the "Foghorn Leghorn School of Politics" department - Online headline:"David Hogg Smacked By His Supporters For His Pelosi Rant" -- As Foghorn Leghorn would say, "“Nice boy but he’s got more nerve than a bum tooth”.. Seems that when Hogg went "whole hog" denouncing old women DIMocrats, all DIMocrats realized he was talking about them as they are all gender neutral.

From the "there's still hope for America's future" department - Online headline: "Manafort juror: Mueller team's star witness 'deserves a special place in Hell' -- Hallelujah! Amen! There's a glimmer of hope our legal system will escape the hole liberalism has dug for it!

Well well well.. just got an estimate..considering a level plot of good compacted soil that a 60'x40'x8" slab could be framed and poured for about $14,000.00 . Of course plumbing and any electric conduit would be in place at extra cost, but it still shows there was an awful lot of questionable money being planned on for now $775,000.00 low-tech wrestling facilities at MCSD high schools. Looks like the material for a metal shell and framework could be had for $40K p]or less, and a slab to put it on for about $14K// hmm.. that's about $54,000.00 out of the initial "estimate" of $750,000.00 that would have left $696K to erect and equip the building..

Good grief...I got 4 "we removed your post" notices from Facebook yesterday and as soon as I objected to them calling it 'spam' FB IMMEDIATELY reposted my posts, and stated they were NOT against "community standards"..I tell you what, the only people who need their standards examined WORK for FB.

From the "grab hold of your wallet" department - Online story: The survival of those two new nuclear reactors under construction at Plant Vogtle just got more complicated. The electrical membership coop run by the city of Jacksonville, Fla., wants out of the deal.
* Here’s why that matters: Earlier this month, we got the news that the cost of the two reactors had gone up by $2.3 billion – only a few months after the state Public Service Commission approved the lower amount. The full price of the Vogtle upgrade is now $27 billion, double what was originally estimated and five years behind schedule. * The increase requires investors in the project to re-affirm their decision to move forward by Sept. 30. Georgia Power, a 46 percent partner, said it is ready to absorb its $1.1 billion share." --"Georgia Power... said it is ready to absorb its $1.1 billion share."? absorb? Georgia Power doesn't "absorb" any expense.. it uses those expenses to apply for higher rates WE pay...

Online story: "Oprah Winfrey is promoting “Shout your Abortion” movement through the July issue of “O” magazine which highlights – Amelia Bonow the founder of “Shout your Abortion – in the “Inspiration” section of the magazine…" -- Hmmm... you know, what would complete the story would be for interviews with Oprah's and Amelia's mothers/parents be included as to why they chose not to have abortions...

From the never use "password" as your password" department - Online headline/story: "Feared DNC hack was actually a security test 8 The DNC walked back an assertion that it had detected a "sophisticated" hacking attempt early Thursday, announcing instead that it was simply a subcontractor's unauthorized security test. * Why it matters: While this is a slight black eye for the DNC, who look a little foolish for riling up the press over what turned out to be an internal matter, it's a massive victory for Lookout, the third-party security firm that caught the "attempt" with its unique approach to discovering phishing sites. * The DNC uses the contractor NGP VAN to manage its digital voter operations — specifically, a product known as VoteBuilder. * Lookout discovered what appeared to be a newly-registered phishing site meant to look like the NGP VAN site and alerted several stakeholders. * After an FBI investigation, it turned out that, according to the DNC's chief security officer Bob Lord, a third party "not authorized by the DNC or its vendors" set up the site to test Democrats' resiliency to phishing attacks." -- Good grief.. this could actually be another cover-up for the DNC actually KNOWING about the "phishing site" to register more.. and probably illegal voters.. The RNC should monitor this and look for similar "phishing sites" linked to the DNC.

M-C L-E headline/story: "Found guilty in sex-slave case, wife erupts: ‘You lied on me!’ * “You lied on me! They didn’t have any evidence! I didn’t do anything!” -- Hmmm.. she protested, "They didn't have any evidence!".. sounds more like a confession after the fact that she went out of her way to make sure no physical evidence could be found or traced back to her..but the juror's saw through her.. Yea.. a non-jury-fail!

From the "what do Sean O'Hair, Kevin Tway, Jamie Lovemark, and Vaughn Taylor have in common" department - M/C L-E headline: "4-way tie for lead at Northern Trust as Tiger Woods stalls" -- What do those 4 have in common... well, they all shot 5-under par 65s and share the first round lead, and none got their name in the headline. I.. WE .. are all pulling for Tiger Woods to make a successful comeback, but MSM-13 is not helping matters when it piles on the pressure of a "participation trophy" at the expense of reality. Hey, MSM-13... give Tiger a break.. and just be ready when he ACTUALLY earns his way back on top.

From the "getting it right" department - M/C L-E headline: "MOVIE REVIEW * ‘The Happytime Murders’ is not worth your time" -- The headline is probably right on it's own thoughts about the movie itself, but what is absolutely right is the "R" rating for a Muppet charactered movie that presents "strong crude and sexual content and language throughout, and some drug material" through using cartoon figures aimed at slipping by inattentive parents.
