Walmart is closing its stores in Portland, OR. Shoplifting has taken its toll.. We were at the Columbus, GA Soccer Complex yesterday, and about 6:40, about a dozen or 15 shots were fired about 100 yards to our east across Woodruff Farm Rd. I called 911 and reported it . The operator took the info and said, "We'll get someone out there as soon as we can." It wasn't the answer I wanted to hear..... but I understood considering how Columbus GA Council and Mayor have been so lackadaisical in getting our police staff up to the "should be" number. Anyway, sirens were heard within 5 minutes, and that was reassuring..
