Interesting... as we watched in horror as a 3-football-field-long container ship rammed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Maryland, I learned that this could not have happened to the Talmadge Bridge on the Savannah River in Georgia. You've probably seen those "runaway truck lanes" on mountain highways that trucks losing their brakes can turn into that will stop them safely... Well, at the Talmadge Bridge supports, rocks have been placed strategically in front of them to create a similar safety stop for ships... If a ship is out of control, the rocks will basically create an artificial situation of a ship "running aground" on a sand bar....

Went to the grocery store yesterday to pick up something I'd missed on bride's check-list.. it was only about $3.75 with taxes I pulled out a $5.00 bill rather than my debit card. A lady in front of me had more and ran her card in, and sale fell through... "not authorized" flashed on the screen.. she left dejectedly... the clerk ran up mine, and as I was about to hand her my $5.00, I had a second thought pop into my head... Hmmm, I thought, could this $5.00 be rejected as "not authorized". God, please Trump back in office!
