There’s no way for her to win as an independent if the Democrats mount a serious campaign for a “new” Democrat! By stepping down, she still controls a “loaded” campaign account which will probably be bolstered by payoff donations from Democrat donors… This situation points out the need for regulations that forbid a candidate from accepting new donations after losing or announcing retiring from the position, and for having campaign accounts turned over to the level government treasury of the elected position level (local/state/federal).

While two staunch opinions do require good communication and good discussions.. compromise does not really become a benefit in final decisions. Compromise means no one gets what is wanted or needed or even what will improve a situation.. take the border... We’ve seen what it takes to be successful, and we've seen what happens when you loosen the rules. Trying to get back into a "middle situation" will cut back on the bad issues, but it won't get us back to what worked best. In a nutshell, when a compromise involving good/evil, even if “evil” reduces its level of evil to match a reduction of good things, “evil” still wins because there is “less good” in the world.

Vermont has less than 700,000 in population (well, unless illegal aliens crossing in from Canada are bigger than we are led to believe), and 700,000 doesn’t fully qualify Vermont to even have one Representative, but .. they do get one because our Founding Fathers felt every state needs representation in Congress. Another interesting Super Tuesday development is that Alaskan Senator Murkowski and Maine Senator Collins both endorsed Haley, and Trump trounced her in both states..
