Online headline/story: "Trump hit with first big blow amid judge controversy * The presumptive GOP nominee's remarks about a federal judge's 'Mexican heritage' have sparked anger, leading a key Senator to announce a big decision Tuesday. * Donald Trump's attacks on a federal judge for his "Mexican heritage" are beginning to have concrete consequences, with Sen. Mark Kirk of Illinois becoming the first GOP lawmaker to rescind his support for the presumptive Republican nominee." -- "Sen. Mark Kirk...GOP lawmaker"?  Good grief.. there are no Conservative lawmakers in Illinois,,,If there is a danger in the GOP losing this seat, it happened because the GOP hasn't been diligent in vetting their own.

---
Online story: "Ralph Lauren shares fell 9% in premarket trading on Tuesday after the company announced job cuts, store closings, and a forecast for lower revenues. * In a statement, the luxury-fashion retailer said it expected a low-double-digit decline in fiscal-2017 net revenues because of the closings, which come as fewer people shop at many traditional brick-and-mortar retailers." -- "because....fewer people shop at many traditional brick-and-mortar retailers"?  Hmmm... or could it be "lack of value"! My children gave me a beautiful Ralph Lauren shirt for my b'day.. $125.00 worth of "beautiful".. it had a nice silky touch.. hand.. looked at the label.. all synthetic fibers.. no made overseas, synthetic fiber shirt is worth $125.00... especially when a company has built its appeal based on natural fibers.

From the " “All Democrats are equal, but some Democrats are more equal than others." department - Online headline: "Hillary Clinton criticized for wearing $12,495 Armani jacket during a speech about inequality" -- Good grief.. who knew Armani made clothing that Hillary... could .. wear...

---
Good grief...if a judge is a member of an ethnic activist group, does it matter whether he's a member of La Raza Lawyers or the KKK? Any such membership should be reason enough to expect a judge to recuse himself from cases that ethnicity is in any way an issue.

---
From the "now it makes sense" department - Online story: " the police did not seem to help the victims of the Trump Rally San Jose riots as much as they could have. Now it’s become clear they were given the orders to STAND DOWN. And why? Well the Police Chief turns out to be part of radical leftist group “La Raza.” -- Good grief.. the same applies to the Chief of Police as with  U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel in the above item.

---
You know, liberals have "out thought" themselves on dumbing down education even more by not teaching cursive writing anymore.. how are their voter base going to be able to sign a voter registration or ballot application?

---
L-E story: " Tomlinson said underfunding the aquatic center will likely prevent it from being all it can be. Fewer hours means less programming, which means less revenue generated, she said." -- Good grief.. Mayor TomLYINGson has it Bassackward.. .as usual. The problem is that due diligence was not done BEFORE building the Aquatic Center! Public desire use of the facility should be the determinng factor and if only a small number do want to use it, then eithey they have to pay higher fees or build their schedules around what works to make the facility an asset rather than an albatross on the rest of the citizens of Columbus.

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " If Trump is concerned about a “Mexican” judge, should Jews be concerned about Christian judges? Christians about Jewish judges? Protestants about Catholic judges? Muslims about “American” judges? Is Trumpism interjecting hate into our legal system?" -- Hmmm.. not quir=te the complete picture.. The federal judge is a member of an Latino ethnic activist organization .. In fact the same one that the San Jose Chief-of-Police belongs.  That's right, the same Chief-of-Police working for the Mayor that defends not using the police officers to immediately protect Trump rally participants.

---
L-E story: " Five local schools are among the 8 percent of public schools in Georgia to be honored this year by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement for excellence in academic performance or improvement, based on results from the previous three years of standardized tests.
The honored local schools and the reasons for their awards are:
A In Muscogee County, Britt David Magnet Academy for performance and improvement, Columbus High School for performance and Northside High School for improvement.
A In Harris County, Mulberry Creek Elementary School for improvement.
A The Chattahoochee County Education Center, which is ChattCo’s elementary school, for improvement." -- Wait a minute... only 3 of theses schools are "local".. two are in OTHER county school systems.. and when you parse "the 3 schools in Muscogee County", there is nothing new to add to hat we already know..in addition, none of those are in District 1.. or District 7, for that matter.. Vore for JoAnn Thomas Brown in 1 and Shelia Williams in 7.

L-E story: "    Phenix City continued its efforts to build the Chattahoochee River whitewater business on the Alabama side Tuesday by approving a $40,0000 marketing effort that will be funded by a mix of public and private funds. * The city council voted to enter into a contract with Columbus-based Media Marketing ... and More! to promote “Whitewater Alabama, Phenix City.” Whitewater Express, the outfitter than operates stores on both sides of the river, will pay $25,000 of the $40,000 contract and the city will pick up the balance, said city Finance Director Steve Smith. *  Last year, 26 percent of the more than 37,000 rafters began their excursion at the Phenix City store. Early in this season, there have been about 3,000 rafters and about 24 percent have chosen the Phenix City store." -- Wait a minute.. How can Council ALLOW Whitewater Express to do this? Council spent many millions.. of our tax dollars while Phenix City put in (I believe) less than $1 million, and 26% of the originations for the rafting are being paid in Phenix City so Columbus gets zilch fees. How about our Council asking the Phenix City Council to "pony up" its share!

From the "things I run across looking for something else" department- Online story: "Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chair of the Democratic National Committee, was asked by CNN's Jake Tapper, "What do you tell voters who are new to the process who say this makes them feel like it's all rigged?" Schultz's response was, "Unpledged delegates exist really to make sure that party leaders and elected officials don't have to be in a position where they are running against grass-roots activists." --

You know, if I was a Centrist or  Democrat leaning supporter, I'd be PO'd about the situation concerning "super-delegates" in the Democratic Party primary system.. In effect, as Wasserman Schultz states, "(super) delegates exist really to make sure that party leaders and elected officials don't have to be in a position where they are running against grass-roots activists"  In other words, Democratic Party officials do not want their voter base to  have much choice in the matter of who's representing them.. Parsing it a bit, of the 719 "super delegates", 193 are Democrat House members, 47 are Democrat US Senate members, and 21 are Democrat Governors.. When you look at those three sectors, Democrats do not have a majority of any of them.. so much for Democratic Party officials's choices in deciding who represents the Democratic Party voter base. One other thing about the :super delegates,, they represent over 30 percent of the necessary delegates to be nominated, which basically means that Wasserman Schultz's personal choice has to have only 41 percent of the delegates cast  by voters in the primaries. Doesn't really sound like Wasserman Schultz and the DNC  looking after the "voice of the people".. just their own careers.

Now the White House is using tax dollars to use Hollywood celebs to promote ZERO-bama's immigration reform via social media. You know when a communist/socialist government function uses entertainment celebs to promote its agenda, it brings new meaning to the phrase, "the RED Carpet".

---
In an interview with George Stepped-all-in-it, Hillary justified her abuse of e-mail protocol because "hundreds" on her staff and in government knew she was doing it. Well, hundreds of hackers and foreign government officials knew it, too.

---
I'm really getting tired of Hillary campaigning that she deserves votes only because she a woman. For a woman (or man) to get my vote, I want to hear her tell me that she believes I should vote for her because she's the best candidate for the job.

---
Trump has a new campaign angle to talk about...Bill Clinton's campaign slogan in 1992... "It's the ECONOMY, stupid".. After the latest jobs report, Trump should focus on Hillary wanting to be ZERO-bama's 3rd term economy.

---
While I think Trump's railing against the judge in his Trump University case is not for the campaign tail, I also see his point-of-view,, said judge is a member of La Raza Lawyers of San Diego,  a legal group affiliated with the largest radical Hispanic organization in the United States. That judge has attended at least two meetings of La Raza Lawyers of San Diego and was involved in giving “a law school scholarship to an illegal alien” through the La Raza Lawyers of San Diego Scholarship Fund. He is also a supporter of Hillary Clinton. While Trump should apologize for mixing his personal campaign in with his presidential campaign, said judge should have recused himself once Trump became a candidate for the Republican Party nomination.

From the "button busting proud" department - Deshauna Barber, current Miss USA 2016, was born right here in Columbus, GA when her parents were stationed her at Ft, Benning!

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Donald Trump lost his sponsor for his Doral golf tournament and the tournament was awarded to (tah dah …) Mexico City." -- Good grief.. only a Democratsycphant could see hapiness in shipping jobes to Mexico at the expense of an American city.

---
What this election boils down to is whether you want to know the flag flying over the White House at all times is an American one.. or the "drapeau du jour"...

---

Well, summer is upon us.. you can tell when the L-E's "Foreclosure Section" expands... nd some of you Democrats were wanting to believe someone intentionally published really bad job figures for May to make Hillary look bad..

Monday, June 6, 2016

Though we probably won't see one at the White House, let's take a moment in silence and respect for the brave soldiers who took part in D-Day, June 6, 1944....... Amen.

---
From the "Hey terrorists, come on in" department - Online story: ""Here in America, we don't give into our fears. We don't build up walls to keep people out, because we know that our greatness has always depended on contributions from people who were born elsewhere," Michelle Obama said." -- God grief.. what's her point.. is someone about tt spill the beans on where ZERObama was born?

---
Online headline: "Cops reveal grisly twist in 11-year-old boy's fatal stabbing  * Authorities announced Saturday they've made an arrest related to the slaying of a Houston boy who was attacked while walking home from school last month." -- Hey, "Black Lives Matter", who matters in this atrocity?

---
Online story: "An editor with the website Vox was suspended Friday for a series of tweets encouraging protesters to "start a riot" at Donald Trump rallies – shortly after the Republican candidate's supporters were attacked outside a San Jose rally the night before. " -- Hey, Hillary... everyone one is learning that you obviously approve of "this is who we are" supporters.

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "   I’m so glad we’ve got some smart, sensible Democrats in Georgia. The Democrats in Louisiana are a bunch of loonies — first they want to destroy historical monuments. Now they’re trashing the Declaration of Independence." -- "smart, sensible Democrats in Georgia"? Hmmm... how about naming one so we can see what level of dumbness you consider "smart" and "sensible".

---
Online headline: "
Obama: Muhammad Ali 'fought for us'

---
L-E headlie/story" : "About 500 celebrate gay pride at festival *  The 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. event was part of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans-gender Pride Month to celebrate the legacy of LGBT individuals. H*bbs said about 500 people visited the festival throughout the day. *     In a community with possibly 20 percent of the population described as LGBT, H*bbs said it’s important to get people to the event." -- "a community with possibly 20 percent of the population described as LGBT"? Good grief.. even stretching attendees to "about 500 people" during a 5 hour time frame (and how many of those few were just crossing the street), how can the L-E publish an farcial statement like "possibly 20 percent" of the Bi-City area being LGBT? Then I looked at the byline... shoulda known without even looking.. the reporter was Hasn't Ever Ben Wright..

---
L-E guest commentary headline: "Con man Trump suckers those who need to believe * BY FROMA HARROP" -- Good grief.. Liberals like Camel's Harrop have been suckered so long by the Kool-Aid dispensing Democratic politicians that Utopia "can be" and socialism will work" if only the right people are in charge", that she nor her circle recognize reality or the truth.

---
I agree with Snoop Dogg... hey,, when a truth is spoken, heed should be taken.. Snoop Dogg blasted the remake of "Roots" and "12 Years a Slave" . Snoop Dogg said, "called for a boycott, saying, “They just want to keep showing the abuse that we took hundreds and hundreds of years ago … When you all going to make a (expletive) series about the success that black folks is having?" -- He's right on.. when has the mainstream media or Leonard :the" Pitts specifically, given good copy to successful blacks who have risen through industry or politics and have been advocates for conservatism and personal responsibility and accountability?
---
ZERO-bama upstaged Bill Clinton's claim to be the first black president, and after being in office for 8 years, he can probably lay claim to being also the first woman to be elected.

Hmmm.. this very well make explain why he's confused about bathroooms....

---
You know, by not trying to make a demonstrative effort to keep her supporters from being violent at Trump rallies, Hillary is pretty much stating she doesn't care a whit for our police officers...but I guess that's pretty much how the Democratic Party feels about our laws.

---
From the "what mainscream bias" department - Washington Post headline/story: "It’s time to stop the endless hype of the ‘Willie Horton’ ad * When then-Massachusetts Gov. Michael Dukakis became the Democratic presidential nominee in 1988, Horton was the centerpiece of attacks on Dukakis’s record on crime. Called “Willie” by the campaign of Republican candidate George H.W. Bush, Horton was most famously depicted in an ad called “Weekend Passes,” produced by an independent group supporting Bush." -- Can you believe (well, yeah) the WaPo is blaming Bush for "Where's Willie Horton"? .. Bush didn't discover this nor was the first to bring up Dukakis' furlough program.. Algore did it.. Yes, Algore produced the story during the primary season... Hmmm.. you might even say, Algore raised the heat in America that is the basis of his "global warming/climate change farce.

---
From the "Where's Willie Horton" department 2016 - Online headline/story: "Crack Dealer Obama Released From Prison Murders Woman And Her 2 Young Kids * In an effort to make the criminal justice system ‘less racist,’ Barack Obama’s administration has sought lenience for “non-violent drug related crimes.” As a consequence, Wendell L. Callahan, a known drug- dealer, was released four years earlier than he should have been, and as a result, a mother and her two children lost their lives." -- Hey, Hillary.. still want to run as ZERO-bama's "3rd Term" ?

---
Online headline: "Obama: Muhammad Ali 'fought for us' -- Fought for "us"? I imagine Muhammad Ali wold say ZERO-bama pretty much undid his work.

---
From the "figures don't lie, but liars figure a lot" department - Online story: "This campaign season, the wage gap between genders is an issue that keeps coming up, and The Boston Globe reports one candidate is less likely to pay men and women equally. * That candidate is Donald Trump. In an analysis of the Trump campaign's April payrolls, the Globe found that Trump paid men 35 percent more than women" -- Hmm.. so Trump is being accused to paying men 35% more than women.. Funny thing is that 35% is actually a smaller figure than what Hillary does.. when blanket figures are tossed out about Hillary, it's that women get paid $0.73 versus the $1.00 men are paid.. when you use the converse calculation stated in Trump's "difference", Hillary actually pays her women nearly 37 percent less.

---
From the "confirmation that drug companies are getting away from drugs that cure problems" department: Online headline: "Drug to treat syphilis on backorder as infection rates grow" -- Like I said last month, drug companies are no longer interested in curing anything.. they are focused on long term prescription drugs that "contain" situations rather than cure them.. in other words, the drug companies want yo to have to buy the prescribed  drugs for the rest of your life..

---
It's rare that I bother to read anything by Tim (gotta be careful not to make a typo in printing his last name) Chitwood, but today did catch my eye.. one thing amazed me as he expressed his concern for keeping Standing Boy State Park in tune with nature...he said, " I and some other folks who visit Standing Boy have this primary concern I can sum up in a sentence: Pavement is the enemy of nature. * Standing Boy is unpaved land. Swaths of undeveloped public land are dwindling, and we in Columbus have paved plenty of it already." -- " Pavement is the enemy of nature"? Hmmm .. it's ironically funny since *hitwood...oooops... Chitwood pretty much stood by as the "Pave the Chattahoochee" crowd poured more and more concrete into the river...

A "nailed it" L-E "soundoff": "   If you are walking around “offended” every day, then you should get some psychiatric help." -- Just don't go to a government funded psychiatrist who will sympathize with you!

How come it's Democrats that do not want "photo-IDs" at the polling places in America?

Cassius Clay..1942-2016.

From the "even yellow dog Democrats cannot deny ZERO-bama is a pathological liar" department - Online headline/story: "President Obama has strong response to gun control question *  At the Elkhart, IN PBS Newshour Town Hall meeting,  Doug Rhude, a gun shop owner, challenged President Obama's record on gun control. Arguing that irresponsible people in our society are accountable for actions such as drinking and driving without having cars taken away from "the good guys," "why then do you and Hillary want to control and restrict and limit gun manufacturers, gun owners and responsible use of guns and ammunition to the rest of us, the good guys, instead of holding the bad guys accountable for their actions?" Rhude asked.  * President Obama didn't hold back in his response to Rhude. "First of all, the notion that I or Hillary or Democrats or whoever you want to choose are hell-bent on taking away folks' guns is just not true," he said." -- "hell-bent on taking away folks' guns is just not true"? ZERO-bama must have the worst case ever of bi-polarism as well as forked tongue disease!

---
Wow..only 38,000 new jobs reported and yet the unemployment number dropped to 4.7%. Hmmm, that reflects the number of people no longer looking for jobs. Guess too many of those have been listening to Hillary & Bernie and figure if either wins, they will get everything they need for free, so why look a job now.

---
38,000 jobs created in May... there goes Hillary's campaign strategy of continuing ZERO-bama's 3rd term.

---
Hillary is trying to reinvent ...again ...herself as "approachable". Wait a minute..isn't Hillary the one who actually roped off the press corp at events, refused debates, and hasn't had a press conference in 6 months.

---
From the "Reality 101 is real" department - Online story: " Maya Dillard Smith, interim director of the Georgia chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, resigned because she could no longer agree with the organization's push for transgender bathroom bills. * “I have shared my personal experience of having taken my elementary school age daughters into a women’s restroom when shortly after three transgender young adults, over six feet [tall] with deep voices, entered,” Smith shared. “My children were visibly frightened, concerned about their safety and left asking lots of questions for which I, like many parents, was ill-prepared to answer."" -- Liberals are the worse "Nimby" (we support all fringe positions, but "Not In My Back Yard) practitioners.

---
From the "only Democrats will find this confusing" department: Good grief...Hillary says Trump isn't qualified because he doesn't have political experience. Hmmm, and exactly how has her vast political experienced helped you?

---
You know, I find it disturbing that Hillary spends all her campaign energies on talking about her opinion about other candidates promises rather than detailing her , in her opinion, successes and how those will be her legacy.

---
Hillary has failed even another leadership opportunity..again.. as quick as she is to condemn Trump's calls for action on immigration reform and building "the wall" by saying "this is not who we are", why hasn't she stepped up to a microphone following the San Jose riots at the Trump rally, and said to the thugs, "this is not who we are"? Hmmm, I guess it's because it's exactly who her base voters are.

---
Did you see the video of the distraught dad go after the serial killer/sex offender when the jury found the (_*_) guilty? Too bad we don't have that kind of emotion in our heaviest crime riddled neighborhoods, or from the DA's office, or...unfortunately, too many juries.

---
What are movie folks thinking? Do they really think people want one-sided message movies, or entertainment? I recently suffered through an outdoor showing of "The Good Dinosaur" while in Florida. Forget the anachronistic mix of humanoids and dinosaurs, the reptilian characters were stereotyped as cultural groups. One particularly heinous example were the "Velociraptors" Their clothing, linguistics, and clothing accessories were blatantly Appalachian/hill-billy in nature.

---
From the "absoluteluy pathetic" department: Homeland Security has announced it has captured a mid-eastern muslim terrorist that came across the US/Mexican border. * Good grief..Homeland Security is proud that it caught one when it's known the terrorist captured was in the company of 5 Pakistanis, and Homeland Security has no idea where they are.. Aren't you ready for change? Vote Trump!

---
Talk about a campaign reform that needs to be initiated... now! Though Jim Barksdale (and his cute cap) is certainly not the first, let's make him the last.  Democrat primary winner in GA's 2016 Senate race "loaned" himself $2,000,000.00 for his campaign.. How do you "loan yourself money"?  I have no problem with someone using their own resources (in fact, I prefer it) to run for office, but it should be a donation rather than a "loan".. I mean .. how do you pay yourself back from what you earn as a politician.. It's rather obvious the candidate expects other people to "donate" that money back to him if he wins.. sorta like post-election bribery.

---
L-E headline: "MUSCOGEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT * New student transfer process explained *
District’s new process essentially same as previous one under Georgia House Bill 251 *  Difference is that OST allows district to reassign transfer students with behavior or attendance problems" -- Hmmm.. OST... Open Seat Transfer...You know, the MCSB could really take advantage of this and save $56 +/- millions of dollars at once, and many millions more in the future. Instead of building an unnecessary new Spencer High, take advantage of the OST, and reassign existing Spencer students to other High Schools in Columbus.. I mean, it's not like the other schools cannot handle them.

L-E's " Thought for Today, “If America forgets where she came from, if the people lose sight of what brought them along, if she listens to the deniers and mockers, then will begin the rot and dissolution.” — Carl Sandburg, American writer (1878-1967)." -- Good grief.. don't tell our School Board/Library System about this or they will remove all of Sandburg's great American history series.

he "things you run across looking for other things department: I ran across this story this AM following another article of interest.. "Online headline" - The New Yorker editor, David Remnick Wants Donald Trump Evicted From New York, Calls His Antics a "Welfare Program" for Media" -- Whatta hypocrite! Remnick  used the popularity of Trump boost his New Yorker magazine's exposure to sell more magazines! Remnick is basically a prostitute!

---
Online headline/story: "Astronomers say universe expanding faster than predicted  * The universe is expanding faster than previously believed, a surprising discovery that could test part of Albert Einstein's theory of relativity, a pillar of cosmology that has withstood challenges for a century.  * The discovery that the universe is expanding 5 percent to 9 percent faster than predicted, announced in joint news releases by NASA and the European Space Agency, " -- Hmmm... wonder where Algore is? Could this be the cause of Algore's claims of "global warming/climate change" that he says man is responsible for? Hey, Algore.. maybe you should have a talk with God.... or at least study up on Einstein's "Theory of Relativity".

---
WTVM9 news headline/story: "Protesters punch, throw eggs at Trump supporters in San Jose * SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Donald Trump supporters leaving the presidential candidate's rally in San Jose were pounced by protesters, some of whom threw punches and eggs. * A dozen or more people were hit and car windows were broken. Trump hats grabbed from supporters were set on fire on the ground. One least one woman was pelted with an egg." -- You know.. is this acceptable to Hillary.. well, the Democratic Party, for that matter? Is this the kind of leadership Democrats believe is good for America's future? Vote TRUMP!

If your only option is commercial, why fly if you are only going 400-450 miles or less. Our 4-year-old granddaughter Sophia went to Disney World yesterday with her mom and one of her aunts. We took Sophia and her mom to the Atlanta airport. We left Columbus at 1:30, and dropped them off at 3:15. Their flight left at 5:55, but were told to be at the airport 3 hours early for TSA screening. They got to Orlando about 8:20 due to about 50 minutes of circling due to weather. The venture took 6 hours and 50 minutes from the time they got into a car and debarked. Add another hour and 15 minutes for the bus to their Disney hotel, and the trip took them over 8 hours. A trip by car to Disney takes about 7 hours from Columbus. Why fly?

---
Ideated from a suggestion of a fellow BCer - I guess the hidden value of the killing of the gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo has proven scientist, evolutionists, and liberals completely wrong.. man did not evolve from apes... how can I make this assertion, you ask,, well, after the unarmed gorilla was shot, did people riot. loot, or burn things in other cities?

---
I wish the GOP/RNC would stop comparing a vote for Hillary as "4 More Years of Obama". WE;re talking 8 years of Hillary, here, and who know how long before we will ever get a chance to vote for a business oriented Republican candidate in the future.. I mean, after what the GOP has tried to derail Trump, what other good business oriented candidates are likely to step forward and offer themselves to this crap?

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "   Donald Trump seems to be bringing out the worst in us, and unless we read, and think for ourselves, we seem to be buying into what he says. America can do better than this!" -- "America can do better than this"?  Surely this LIV's not talking about Hillary.. any Democrat for that matter.. Does this LIV feel that the anti-Trump protesters are role models for America ..or the LIV's children/grandchildren?...  These are protesters who are not factually knowledgeable so they can not express themselves civilly. Instead, they throw punches, rocks, bottles at Police officers and other civil Americans..  Certainly America can do better than anyone that would support the Demov=cratic Party.

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "   Elected representatives like Myers and Thomas are either power hungry or truly believe they're looking after the taxpayer. Either way, it boils down to micromanagement, which is bad." -- "micromanagement"? Good grief.. since when is the only option to keep tabs on how taxpayers funds are spent is to rubber stamp the Superintendent's desires.. Ask any successful private of public company about keeping financial date out of the hands of the board of directors is good for stakeholders? In fact, ask the former board members of St Francis Hospital. Columbus is fortunate that Frank Myers and John Thomas (and Mark Cantrell on occasion)  stepped up to the plate and displaced people more concerned about being re-elected than whether the students were getting the kind of education that can put an end to perpetual poverty.

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "   President Obama's trip to Hiroshima was an important gesture promoting peace in a nuclear era." -- gesture"? I'm pretty sure the only gesture that happened was the middle finger one ZERO-bama got from the rest of the world as he boarded Air Force 1 to depart.

---
L-E headline: "Prince died from accidental overdose of opioid painkiller" -- "acidental"? Good grief.. there is no "accidental" when one voluntarily puts unneeded opioids into one's mouth and swallows.

---
The L-E has published the 2015 "Climate Star" ratings for our schools.. There are many ways to tear into this, but the most obvious one is how 17 schools with a lower rating than Columbus High can get 4 of 5 Stars while Columbus High got but 3 of 5 Stars. Common CRAP Math?

---
L-E headline: "Columbus is a city of disputed distinctions * From Coca-Cola to the Civil War Historians disagree over several local distinctions" -- Hmmm.. while several subjects were discussed concerning various historical markers, two markers were distinctly omitted from the column.. One subject discussed was Memorial Day's origin.. seems rather obtuse that the historic marker on the northwest right-of-way on the corner of 2nd Ave and 11th Street brings attention to the Columbus claim, but the one most obviously omitted is a marker on the western side of 1st Avenue between 12th and 13th Streets,, It identifies the location of the first school for black children. Of course, this fact interferes with the agenda of those involved in rehabbing the Claflin School location.

L-E headline/story: " Wal-Mart tests drones to manage inventory *  Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is testing drones that it says will help it manage its warehouse inventory more efficiently, and which it said Thursday could be rolled out in the next six to nine months across its distribution centers. *  The move is another sign of how the nation’s largest retailer is seeking to compete against online leader Amazon.com  , which is testing drones to deliver packages. * During a media tour Thursday at a distribution center, Wal-Mart offered a peek at a drone that flies around the massive center, captures images in real time and flags the misplaced items. * Wal-Mart says using the drones enables it to check inventory in about a day or less, instead of a month that it takes manually." -- Hmmm.. bet those drones won't make $15.00 per hour or call in sick...

Online headline: "Mark Cuban questions if Donald Trump is actually a billionaire" -- Hmmm.. sounds like Mark Cuban has left himself unquestioned about being an (_*_).

---
From above story: "Cuban told the radio hosts he had looked at the filing and wasn't convinced by Trump's self-proclaimed net worth. He did give Trump credit for being good at real estate, but said he "wasn't very good at brands for non-real estate products," calling some of his deals "desperate."  * "So when you're putting your name on steaks, and you're putting your name on water, you're putting your name on playing cards, you're putting your name on all this nonsense, right? You're not gonna make big bucks, no matter what. It's not like Trump Steaks were gonna make him $100 million. It's not like it was gonna make him $5 million." --  "calling some of his deals "desperate." ?  Good grief.. Cuban is on Shark Tank bidding on partnering with cupcake and doggy treat makers.

Online headline/story: "2 dead in murder-suicide on UCLA campus * Two male adults are dead after an apparent murder-suicide on the University of California at Los Angeles campus, the chief of the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed on Wednesday. * The victims were found in an office inside UCLA's Engineering IV building, where the shooting took place. * CBS News affiliate KNX cited a law enforcement source who said the shooting may have stemmed from an issue concerning grades." -- Well, it looks like a student probably use to a participation trophy environment and non-score-kept games could not accept/deal with a reality grade.. Wanna bet?

---
Online headline: "Clinton blasts Trump, calls him a 'fraud'" -- Looks like the set up of a classic Pee Wee Herman response.. "I know you are but what am I".

---
Online headline: "Tonys: Barbra Streisand to make first appearance in 46 years" -- Big Deal!.. I've avoided the Tonys for 69 years and probably will avoid each one to come as well.

---
Online headline: "Poll reveals 2 big obstacles Clinton faces in election" -- What.. is this something of a politically incorrect "Poll-ish Joke"? You don't need a POLL  to know the answer is Hillary, herself, and hubby Bill.. Besides.. neither Bernie nor I would touch either with a 10 foot Poll.

---
November's election will be about whether you want politicians who approach issues with a "let's roll" attitude and gets things done, or ones that say "that might offend someone"...

---
Sore losers in the GOP are wanting to back a complete unknown as a 3rd Party candidate. Their reasoning is that any "John Doe" can poll 10-12% of the voters.. good grief, they could get more than 10-12% putting Mickey Mouse on the ballot..of course, Hillary would lose the most votes.

---
Why is there still conversation on the decision to shoot that gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo? I'd like to see a "Terminator" sequel in which 'the Arnold' returns to the past and convinces all the mothers-to-be of all those who have signed petitions questioning the shooting to get abortions so there will be sanity on the issue.

---
The DOJ says court ordered mandatory "ethics" training "too costly" to initiate...oh, like sending in DA's to prosecute people before all the facts have been presented to, and found warranting by, a Grand Jury is in anybody's best interest?

---
Why is mainscream media on to Trump about keeping his promises about his Veterans fund raiser? You know...when you hold a fund raising event, and people/companies make "pledges", it doesn't mean everyone honors their pledges, or pays them in a timely manner. Telethons are the worst, as people may call in just to hear their names called out for making a donation. Trump just paid out $5.6 Million from his fund raiser for veteran organizations which indicates not all who pledged has ponied up. We see it locally with our United Way..UW will play up the pledge numbers, and companies pledging get public praise, but most likely 15 +/-% will never be paid. This sorta explains why UW comes up short on it's distributions..A lot of shortages could be averted if UW also announces the amount of pledges, and who made them, that get reneged on. Of course, UW wouldn't be able to celebrate as loudly on meeting its stated goal until the money is paid.

You know, mainscream media would do more of a service to this country if it questioned Hillary about all the unkept promises she had made.. starting with Benghazi.

---
A new Quinnepac poll says "voters" say they believe Hillary would be better than Trump at getting things done in Washington...HUH?. Isn't this what we want to change...electing someone who isn't a part of the nothing-ever-gets-done-in-Washington syndrome?

---
What is it about mainscream media that it cannot...maybe..will not, grasp Trump's appeal to voters? I guess it's because Trump does not kowtow to it. The Democrat and Republican Parties should take note..the majority of Americans are just responding to Trump because he sees a problem, and also sees a solution, while mainscream media and establishment politicians fret over offending one or two people.

L-E story: " State officials are asking for public input on a master plan development of Standing Boy Creek State Park in Muscogee County. A meeting is set for 6-8 p.m. June 7 at the City Services Center, 3111 Citizens Way. The planning firm Lose & Associates will lead the meeting. * The property on Lake Oliver, which is part of the Chattahoochee River, is currently a Wildlife Management Area. The Department of Natural Resources is exploring options for turning the 1,580 acres into a state park," -- Hmmm.. 1,580 acres were sold/donated (?) out of the Muscogee County tax database.. exactly how did Columbus benefit from losing all the tax revenues on that property?

---
As Columbus' Council is mulling over the new budget for Fiscal 2017, wonder if there's any mention of how much money has been saved since garbage collections were reduced to once a week last September?

---
L-E headline: "‘Beer Boys’ in right place, right time" -- Has anyone considered that most of the CSU students are under 21 when they are extolling the virtues and possibilities of additional beer bars in the downtown area? Once again, why hasn't the state of GA started requiring such establishments to have driver's license readers a the door and the bar like they do at polling stations?

---
L-E's "Quoatable": "The Price of Greatness is Responsibility." - Winston Churchill, British statesman (1874-1965) -- Hmmm no wonder ZERO-bama was so anxious to remove a bust of Chirchill from the White House!

---
L-E story: "   Jonathan Mossberg has already made a smart gun — a shotgun that can only be discharged by someone wearing a ring that communicates with a chip inside the weapon, unlocking it." -- Hmmm.. so if home invaders hit your home and steal your Mossberg "Smart" shotgun, they will also cut off your finger to get the ring that activates it? Or what if you're hunting, and a rabid raccoon attacks and startles you and you drop your "Smart" shotgun. Your son picks it up and has a clear shot at that raccon, but the gun won't fire and the rabid raccoon bites you.. Hmm.. "Smart" guns don't really sound too smart..

L-E story: " Donald Trump suffered a rare defeat Wednesday when the World Golf Championships event held at a course he owns outside Miami was moved to Mexico City. The PGA Tour announced that it was ending a 54-year relationship with Doral, which Trump bought in 2012 and spent $250 million renovating, because it could not find a sponsor to replace Cadillac, whose contract ran out this year. * Tim Finchem, the PGA Tour commissioner, said the move was motivated by Cadillac’s decision not to renew its title sponsorship and the Tour’s inability to find a sponsor for the Miami area. * He said it had nothing to do with the politics of Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential candidate." -- Hmmm.. "moved to Mexico City"?  "move was motivated by Cadillac's decision not to renew it's title sponsorship" "?  " nothing to do with the politics of Trump"? -- Good grief.. it sounds like it has EVERYTHING to do with politics.. Cadillac is a union arm of Government Motors, and the PGA is moving the tournament to Mexico City. Hmm like I said, it sounds like it has EVERYTHING to do with politics. Hope Trump schedules a $20,000,000.00/winner-take-all exhibition match with Jordan Spieth, Jason Day, Rory McIlroy, and Ricky Fowler the same weekend as the Mexico City tournament..

---
L-E story: " The impact of low oil prices has continued to hobble the finances of U.S. banks, which posted increased loan losses in the first quarter driven by a huge jump in delinquent energy loans. *  Much of the exposure to energy loans sits with the big Wall Street banks, which made billions of dollars in loans during the boom to finance oil production in Texas, North Dakota and elsewhere. The six largest U.S. banks — JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley — have billions of dollars of exposure to energy loans that won’t all be paid back" -- Hmmm.. no wonder Hillary is not releasing transcripts of her $250,000.00 speeches she made to "Big Banks".

---
L-E's Business Page "headline collage": "U.S. bank earnings dip 2% in first quarter" & "U.S. construction spending tumbled during April" & "U.S. auto sales fall during May * May is usually one of the strongest months of the year for the U.S. auto industry But last month, U.S. auto sales were expected to drop 7 percent to 1.5 million cars and trucks"  -- Hmmm .. What a dilemma for Hillary .. losing on her own, and can not count on ZERO-bama's coattails for a third term.  What's really sad is that ZERO-bama could not jump-start the economy on the trucking and manufacturing industries having their energy costs reduced to 21st Century lows.

---
Good grief.. has anyone kept tabs of how much money "Together 2016" has spent on ads running in the L-E? My guess is the homeless problem in Columbus could have been solved if that money was applied to that problem..or the City's "fund balance" could have been made whole again with a donation that size.

Online headline/story: "Report names new country as the worst for slavery *  Almost 46 million people are living as slaves globally with the greatest number in India but the highest prevalence of slavery in North Korea, according to the third Global Slavery Index released on Tuesday." -- Good grief.. how was America left off this list..the Democratic Party has more than 46 million voters enslaved by entitlement programs!

---
Online headline: "California Governor Jerry Brown endorses former rival Hillary Clinton" -- Hmmm... politics, indeed, makes for strange bedfellows... and following the history of the Brown-Bill Clinton history,  strange is certainly a word that fits with Moonbeam Brown and Hillary..

---
Why does mainscream media insist that women will support Hillary..Hillary is the one saying women cannot run the economy better than a man, or women should embrace male perverts urinating and showering with their children. Oh, and don't forget that "special place in hell" for women who don't vote for her..all I can add, is let's not make the White House that "special place".
---
Online headline: "Ga. Democrats Say Donald Trump Could Turn State Blue In 2016 " -- Hmmm.. and when was the last time you heard anything truthful come across the lips of a Democrat?
---
I'm curious.. why does Mayor TomLYINGson feel.. obviously thinking wasn't p[art of the process... that the City can run its own healthcare program...the City use to own what is now Columbus Regional but "gave" it away some 35ish years ago but still pays a fixed mil rate to them that doesn't benefit employees... or the community.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " According to Genesis, when God created the earth he made light on the first day, and three days later he made the sun. Is there something really odd about that?" -- Hmm...and according to Proverbs 14:7 (NIV)  "Stay away from a fool, for you will not find knowledge on their lips."
---
L-E headline/picture: "Chattahoochee safety top of mind as summer arrives"

Good grief.. the L-E runs a story on water safety and shows a picture of people.. including children not wearing the required PFDs!
-----------------------------------------
L-E headline: "It takes more than twice minimum wage to pay rent, report states" -- Hmmm.. well, working harder so that your employer thinks you are worth such is one of the answers.. even being married and sharing such costs is another.. oh.. and getting a good education while in High School is another.. yes, personal responsibility and effort are the overall best answer.

Online story: "Jim Barksdale, who built a decades-long career in investments and portfolio management, is a political newcomer who is little known outside of Democratic circles. But, as we reported on Tuesday, he also brings an outsider’s take to political office – and the ability to pour millions of dollars from his own fortune into the campaign. * In a statement on Thursday, Barksdale cast himself as an independent-minded business executive who will focus his race on holding the federal government accountable. * “It’s time for accountability in Washington because the hard truth is, they’ve lost our trust,” Barksdale said in a statement. " -- "it's time for accountability in Washington"? Hell, it's way past time Democrats need to be held accountable at all levels of politics!Somehow, I cannot associate accountability of an investment banker who likes cute caps as being on the side of average Americans..
