Is there a politically correct word that can be used to 'back hand compliment government? We have such a "DOH!" "phrase" (I'm from the government and I'm here to help.) we can use, but we don't have a "DOH!" "word".. I'm talking about one we can use here in Columbus today to describe the garbage pick-up schedule this week.. Since today is Eclipse Day, our garbage service will run until Noon, then close down for the day .. (There is a law.. a reasonable law, to protect the pick-up team from possible eye damages from the sun) So far so good.. but... BUT the Monday route will be RUN IN ITS ENTIRETY AGAIN ON WEDNESDAY!.. Question: why not just cancel Monday and run the regular routes on Tuesday/Wednesday like is done when holidays are on Mondays? Look at the expenses that would be saved.. plus the wear and tear on the trucks...

Did you see the video of the masked anti-freedom-of-speech (_*_) grab the US flag from an older woman? Pulled her, too, as she held tightly to THE symbol of freedom until she fell from being pulled faster than she could keep up.. Then, she got up and chased after the (_*_)! That, my friends, is what the American flag stands for.. loyalty to our country and Constitution. Why didn't police arrest any/all anarchists wearing masks at a public event?

Hmmm.. according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, there is only one "hate group" organized/based in Columbus, GA.. the "Nation of Islam".. a black separatist group.... In fact, the "Nation of Islam is the ONLY SPCL "hate group" in the Columbus. GA/Phenix City, AL Metropolitan Statistical Area... sorta takes the wind out of a lot of local political rhetoric

For a little more perspective overall.. the SPCL lists over 917 "hate groups" in the US.. based on all he news, which one group are you led to believe has the most "chapters"..  nope, nope, probably "nope".. The SPLC list 193 "black separatist groups".  In fact, there are six (New Black Panthers, War on the Horizon, Nation of Islam, Israel United in Christ, Israelite School of Universal Practical Knowledge, The Israelite Church of God in Jesus Christ.) of such in Washington, DC alone..compare that to the other hate groups in our Capital.. the White Nationalists have "2", the KKK has "0", the Neo-Nazis have "0", Skinheads have "0", Neo-Confederates have "0".  Hmmm... wait a minute.. I think SPLC missed an important "Black Separatist" group..you know... The Congressional Black Caucus!

It was unique in Little League history as players from the St Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates entered Howard J Lamade stadium in Williamsport, PA to WATCH. I just hope it reminded the big leaguers that they need to be better role models in the future.

It was also neat that the minor league baseball field was overhauled to Major League standards so a Big League game could be played in Williamsport last night as part of the Little League World Series experience.. I had one complaint, though, the "special uniforms" looked like softball uniforms rather than baseball uniforms.

Plan on watching the LL World Series game on Wednesday evening (7:30).. The SE team from North Carolina squares off with the the SW team from Texas in the finals of the Winner's Bracket..The North Carolina team is awesome and have my "bet" for the eventual championship.... but that's not why I'm writing this particular "item".....I'm real excited about two things go into effect next year..new limitations/control over bat performances, and   the best news is that LL Baseball is finally eliminating 7th graders (13 year olds) from playing Major Boys.

Those three entries into the heart of the City are filled with too many unattractive eyesores that hardly invite entertainment oriented visitors to want to stick around to see how fine our city actually is.

And get this California has 4 "Skinhead" groups, 4 KKK groups, 3 Holocaust Denial Groups, 7 White Nationalist groups, 2 Anti-Immigrant groups,and.. yes, 7 Anti-LGBT groups, 10 Anti-Muslim groups, 15 Black Separatist  groups, 13 General Hate groups, and even 1 Hate Music group..No wonder over 4,000,000 more Californians voted for Hellary!

That includes if you are stopped at a traffic signal. * That’s the part of the law Pezold would like to see changed." --  Hmm,.... with Pezold, you have to wonder what's in it for him.. Not long ago, he was pushing for Uber not to have to charge/collect sales taxes. Later we learn that McDonald's is testing the use of Uber drivers in some areas to be "deliverers" for McDonald computer/phone orders. Now, as I understand the Uber business plan, Uber drivers cruise around and people wanting rides can see them on their "Uber App" and page them. Obviously, Uber drivers are going to be constantly "driving distracted", thus a target for police scrutiny.. Wonder if Pezold owns any "Uber" stock?

I do have a quasi-solution when a necessary phone call needs to be made while you're driving (and without the built-in Blue-tooth option in your car). When you come to a stoplight, briefly put your car in park, make your call, then re-engage "Drive". Technically, you are not "driving distracted" when you make the call. Of course, some LEO may try to make a case for "illegal parking".. which would be hard to prove except for "your admission/confesssion", but a $30.00 ticket is better than a $202,.00 ticket and a moving violation on your insurance record.

Any way, let's pray  wonders will come out of it.. Oh, how about putting the "Keep The Freeze" team in charge of it.. it was a most effective group focused on a common goal, which is what "on the table" should be.

Today's Board of Tax Assessors' horror story.. - one of the members of the Facebook forum, "Columbus, GA Concerned Citizens Forum", shared this tidbit.. his 1,186 sq ft home (Parcel ID 017 022 044) he bought in 2006 for $40,000 now has a Fair Market Value of $176,450.00. I think I'll make him an offer of $40,000, and when he says, "NO", the City says it's worth $176,000, I think I'll go before the Board of Tax Assessors and ask them for the extra $136,000 they say it's worth because I want the house and the owner want sell it for it's REAL FMV since it was assessed in June. Fortunately, his taxes will not go up accordingly because he is PROTECTED by the FREEZE!

You know, I sometimes have a real sympathy spot for the Board of Tax Assessors.. they are appointed to serve their friends and other citizens of Columbus, but they've set up as a whipping post by Mayor Tom-LYING-son. Trump had nothing to do with this! This falls directly on the weak shoulders of VA Governor Terry McAuliffe! In fact, Trump stepped up immediately to condemn the action, and has no authority to intervene until VA Governor Terry McAuliffe REQUESTS his help. The only way Trump can step in, otherwise, is to declare VA governance incapable and incompetent (which it is under Gov Terry McAuliffe) and declare Martial Law.

The real incompetence in what happened in VA could have been avoided if BLM and mainscream media just ignored the situation, and let the hate group "have its moment" . Even legitimate Southern Heritage Historical organizations should have avoided their presence. Looked up the property of one of the "Together 2017" featured people.. she bought a house here in Columbus in 2010 for $515.000.00.. the persons she bought it from had paid $518,000.00 in 2007. In 2016, her house was assessed at  $512,629.00.. the NEW 2017 assessment is $392,190.00. Amazingly, her "land value" went up about 10%.. but the house on the property went down nearly 23%.. Of course, she want get a new tax relief based on her 2017 Tom-LYING-son Tax Software figure as we kept the Tax Freeze intact. Guess we can be thankful of the freeze .. for checking on these fact, Parcel ID is 079 004 063. I bring this up as "she" was an advocate for "Thaw the Freeze", and obviously she would have benefited tax wise based on the current assessment.
