There are 2 schools of thought on Democrat Congressional action/inaction..Now the Dems are sitting on the sidelines watching nothing getting done to improve OObamaCRAP. 7 years ago, the Dems were actively involved passing OObamaCRAP and look what we got! Personally, looking at the track record, America IS better off with Dems sitting on the sidelines, so let's help more of them stay at home the next 2 elections.

Sure am extra glad he wasn't here in Columbus when he drove into the crowd..he'd probably get a plea bargain of "unintentional involuntary manslaughter" sentenced to time served.

L-E headline: "MCSD board to vote on loan to plug gap over property taxes" -- John Thomas just demonstrated not only why he deserves to be on the MCSB. but turned to for sage advice.. and deserves to be the next "chair".. when all others are running around like their heads have been chopped off, John Thomas has kept his, and made the following assessment : "Because state law allows Columbus Consolidated Government to charge MCSD a fee of 2.5 percent for collecting and dispersing revenue from property taxes, Thomas said he will prepare a motion for the board to approve next Monday a resolution asking council to reduce that fee by an amount equal to MCSD’s borrowing costs for this loan." and I agree.. Mayor Tom-LYING-son and Council have created this "monster" with no forethought of how delays would effect the MCSD which has no input into the collection process.

L-E headline: "MUSCOGEE COUNTY BOARD OF TAX ASSESSORS * Board tables council request to roll back tax assessments" -- What shortsighted mentality.. The Board of Assessors could have circumvented expensive lawsuits and brought about quality discussions on tax/assessment issues by rolling the assessments back to the past level. The main thing that would happen would be that every taxpayer could begin 2018 knowing what issues he/she would have to address with the new assessments next year, and had ample time to look at areal property assessment for comparisons.. even cooperate with similar persons with the same issues.. but NO! not this Board!  What could have been open discussions now turns into word wars.
