Online headline: "2012 Presidential Race Expected To Be Close And Brutal" -- And lethal, too, when you consider how many dead people are registered to vote.
---
L-E headline: "Race likely to be close, tough, maybe brutal" -- Looks like the L-E saw the above headline and tossed in a 'race' card.
---
Riverwalk collapses...Looks like "The Daily Beast is right.. another 'broke' piece of the puzzle.
---
So Columbus 'got Occupied" yesterday. They would have gotten more attention, and looked larger in size, if they just mingled with, and Occupied Ft Valley-Albany State Parade Street route.

From another BCer, this is a synopsis of a longer version of Christmas gift options. Instead of buying a gift made in China or other parts of the world, buy and give gift certificates to small business service companies such as local restaurants, Spa/Hair Salons, car washes, golf courses, oil changes, even cleaning services for your mom, daughter, wife. Be creative and promote local businesses. It's an idea that's timely.

Newsletter headline: "Pelosi thinks 9% unemployment is great" -- Guess she feels that with that 9% of sure-to-be voters already bought and paid for, she doesn't have to appeal to the majority of other voters.
---
I did get a response from a MCSD board member about when the board would publicly address the urgency of paring down the SPLOST projects to fit the decrease in expected revenues from the SPLOST tax.... February 2012. I don't think that's good enough or soon enough to keep projects from being partly finished when the money stops coming in. Call or e-mail your representatives and get them to act on the revenue shortfall now!

L-E story: "Sonora, Calif. - A 65-foot white fir tree selected as the U.S. Capitol Christmas tree was cut down and removed from a picturesque setting in the Sierra Nevada Mountains..." -- Bet Boehner will catch every liberal loony's rath about this. The story is written in a manner to catch the attention of every fringe liberal group from tree-huggers, anti-old-growth forest preservers, PETA, Robert Redford's Sierra Club, as well as Sharpton & Jackson, and Pelosi & Reid.
---
L-E story: "Atlanta - Georgia's secretary of state (Brian Kemp) says the state's new law targeting illegal immigration could delay professional licenses. * A provision of the law that takes effect Jan. 1 requires people applying for public benefits, which include professional licenses, to prevent (sic) a "secure and verifiable" form of identification" -- I'm sure the law says to 'present' rather than 'prevent' a "secure and verifiable" form of identification, BUT why hasn't that been the case from the git-go? I would think that the secretary of state would have always demanded a 'secure and verifiable' form of identification before issuing any professional license to anyone!
---
L-E headline: "Will Biden be replaced on the Obama ticket in 2012?" -- I don't think that that is really the issue, as neither will be back, but the real issue is whether Hillary will replace potUS O'Blather on the top of the ticket.
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": "The illiterate of the future will not be the person who cannot read. It will be the person who does not know how to learn." - Alvin Toffler, American writer-futurist (1928 - )." -- What a nightmare it must be for Toffler to live to see the product of the education system and the DIM&DUMBERat Party.

Will someone please address the fact that the figure used in redistricting is about 8,000 less than the recently completed 2010 Census. For the 8 districts that aren't 'at-large' in either the Council or MCSD elections, that means 1,000 people per district are missing or otherwise unaccounted for.
---
With the quantity of Republican candidates clamoring for attention in the debate venues, wouldn't it be good if the candidates voted to have 1 issue be the focus of each debate so questions could be answered in sentences instead of sound bites?
---
Marine Captain Brian Stann for president! If the name is unfamiliar, read Tom Sileo's piece in today's L-E Opinion section.
---
Looks like the #1 Brokest City has awakened Paul Olson. He's Baaccckkkk on the Council's agenda.
---
Tyrann Mathieu should have been handcuffed and taken to jail for the mugging he laid on Kirkpatrick. That clothesline blow would be considered illegal in a street fight that has no rules.
---
After watching LSU and Bama duke it out, do you wonder if Richt and the Bulldogs are having second thoughts about South Carolina losing and putting the Dawgs on a collision course with LSU in Atlanta?
