Columbus Mayor Obamalinson says she makes sure police are responding fast
in her neck-of-the-woods.. maybe that's why your's and my neighborhoods wonder
if a police car will ever arrive. Remember this in the May election.

HuffPost headline: "Obama Concerned Over Further Russia Encroachment Into
Ukraine" -- Well... makes sense... Crimea is already last weeks news.
---
Online story: "Three Secret Service agents on President Obama's detail were
sent home from Holland after reportedly spending a night out drinking in
Amsterdam ahead of the president's arrival Monday. * Secret Service spokesman Ed
Donovan told Fox News that the agents had been sent home "for disciplinary
reasons" and had been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation. *
According to regulations recently adopted by the Secret Service, agents on
official trips are prohibited from drinking alcohol 10 or fewer hours before
being on duty. * They work shifts as long as 12-hours on some foreign trips." --
Let's see.. if they work 12 hours, and can't drink within 10 hours of their next
shift, they have a 2 hour window to drink. Hmmm, wonder if Judas 00-Barnum holds
himself to those rules?
---
Good grief...Great Britain has been a declining economic force for the last
100 years, and now we've dropped below them in the percent of workers in the
work force, and it looks like Judas 00-Barnum is trying to make our military
force smaller as well.
---
Looks like we're seeing Judas 00-Barnum's idea for a Constitutional
rewrite. First, he wants the French tax code, the KGB interpretation of the 4th,
the Korean version on Executive Power, Saddam Hussein's Department of Justice,
the IRS's interpretation of the 5th, Hitler's version of the 2nd, and China's
model for the 1st. And while he's at it, he's probably eying the 3rd for his
Homeland Security Army, the 8th to cover OObamaCRAP, and just tossing the 9th
& 10th. Oh, and he's probably asking former NYC Mayo Bloomberg to help get
rid of the 22nd. Hurry November!

Because I was embarrassed that Cynthia McKinney represented our state to
the nation and world, I supported Hank Johnson in GA's 4th Congressional race to
unseat her in 2006; I'm not sure, now, that Hank Johnson helped us. Now there's
a serous challenger to Johnson in this years Democratic Primary.. former Dekalb
County Sheriff Tom Brown. Haven't a clue about Brown, but know he has to be a
better choice for GA to escape anymore embarrassing comments from Johnson. You

Good grief..Harry Reid is blaming Republicans for not stopping the Russian
takeover of Crimea. Well, the Republicans haven't been able to stop Reid from
taking over the Senate, so why is Reid blaming Republicans?

Online story: "As Belgium's capital and host to the EU and Nato, Brussels
is used to deploying heavy security when big names pop by. But US President
Barack Obama's visit on Tuesday will strain the city like never before with €10m
($10.4m, £8.4m) of Belgian money being spent to cover his 24 hours in the
country * The president will arrive on Tuesday night with a 900-strong
entourage, including 45 vehicles and three cargo planes" -- Hmmm... $10.4
Million a day... Let's see... times 365 days that be an annual rate of
$3,796,000,000. Good grief.. now we know why our national debt is soaring... the
entire US budget is less ($3.6 TRILLION) that what it costs to keep Judas
00-Barnum happy. Of note, Belgium's gross National l GDP is only $448
Billion!

Very little sanity prevailed at Council, but at least the $244,000 toilet
under the Frank Martin Bridge did not get approved yesterday. Next, we have to
remind some of the Councilors that the cost is not an 80/20% formula.. The GA
DOT gets its money out of the same pockets that Council does.. OURS! Of course,
if this was being proposed in 1994 at the end of Frank's term, I might have felt
differently.. there was a lot of crap to flush out, and such a fine toilet might
have be a cost saver for the City rather than him shredding all his documents at
the Medical (now MIDTOWN) Center facility.
---
You know, I do not blame Councilors Huff and Barnes showing up late, and
Councilors McDaniel, Allen, and Baker being "no-shows" because the most
advertised subject on the agenda was a bunch of crap....
---
I wonder if Council has figured out how many daily "as needed" port-a-lets
could be rented for $250,000.00 for events on the 14th Street walking
bridge?

LIV's L-E "soundoff" : "Ideas for promoting white water rafting: “Come raft
with us. We have clean water, unlike West Virginia and North Carolina; no
arsenic and no other strange chemicals.”" -- Hmmm, has this guy ever eaten a
fish from Lake West Point?
---
L-E headline: "U.S. SUPREME COURT * JUSTICES APPEAR DIVIDED ON
CONTRACEPTIVE COVERAGE" -- Hmmm.... maybe a little Solomonic Wisdom could be the
answer.. say, .. let all the judges who's parents were practicing government
forced/paid birth control methods when they were conceived vote for it and those
judges who's parents were wanting a baby vote against it. Bet it'd be a 9-0, 8-1
win for Hobby Lobby and America!
---
L-E's "Quotable": “A good example is far better than a good precept.” -
Dwight L. Moody American clergyman (1837-1899)" -- Will someone post this in
Mayor Obamalinson's office the next time she wants to discuss a high speed rails
system being profitable?
---
You know... sometimes, "wishes do come true".. Take the MCSD 8th District
race.. How many times have we wished a viable opponent get in the race with John
Wells? Well, this years the charm.. in fact, 3 men have stepped forward.. put
themselves on the ballot. Bart Steed, John Thomas and Victor Morales. While none
of the three is likely (surprise me!) to win it on the May 20 election day, one
will get into a runoff with Wells, and win.

One thing that school board candidates need to focus on is graduation
rates. It will not be improved by concentrating efforts on what courses are
offered. The emphasis needs to be on connecting with students and their parents
as to the value and necessity of a good educational foundation. As it is, the
school system buys into too many federal programs that emphasize that the school
system itself assume parental roles.
---
L-E headline: "Ala. prepares for 50th anniversary of voting march" -- You
know... such a remembrance would be beneficial if the organizers focused on the
changes that event has brought about since 1964 rather than what brought on the
event prior to 1964. Unfortunately, the organizers can create more revenue and
interest spewing venom than praise.
---
L-E headline/story: "Home Depot charity helps fix or build 10,000 homes for
veterans * The foundation, supported by contributions from the Atlanta company
and its vendors, has handed out more than $65 million since 2011 to
organizations that renovate or build houses for veterans across the country. *
Jake Maguire, a spokesman for the nonprofit group Community Solutions, applauded
the Home Depot Foundation’s commitment to working with experienced local groups"
-- You know.. it bothers me when other non-profits applaud a big donor for its
generosity, but there's no info offered as to how much of that generosity is
channeled into the non-profit applauders' own pockets for running the
non-profit.
