As Mr Roger's would start each show.. "It's a beautiful day in this
neighborhood"

Obamageddon put his administration directly on the ballot in North Carolina, and the voters responded.. He made a radio spot for Kay Hagan's last day in the campaign.. He did so, not because he, she for that matter, thought it would help her to victory, but because he thought Hagan had it locked up, and he needed to appear relevant. The voters rejected him, and Tom Tillis won! That's Hope and Change we can believe in!
---
Don't think that was the only condemnation of Obamageddon policies. Kansas rejected Greg "Pelosi" Orman's "you have to vote for me before I tell you how I will vote for you" campaign, and Iowa, Colorado, and Georgia rejected huge outside support for DNC anointed Democrats.

Mainstream media basically ignored a historical event in South Carolina, actually two historical events. Senator Tim Scott, blew out his opponent in a special election Scott not only became the first black US Senator elected in the South since Reconstruction, he also became the first black to ever be elected to the House and the Senate. Better yet is that Senator Tim Scott is a black REPUBLICAN, and

Florida showed some sobriety.. first it re-elected Rick Scott over perennial flake Charlie Crist, and at the same time, stopped its medical marijuana issue. That ought to send Crist to parts unknown.
---
On the other hand, Washington, DC voters passed a recreational marijuana issue.. I cannot reason with this even being an issue in Washington, DC.. it's still against federal law
---
And in other key Governor races..Maryland... Bleep Veep Biden's lair.. The Republican beat the former Democrat Lt.-Governor, and a Republican won in Massachusetts and Illinois. Even Scott Walker threw off another union led assault on his positions. That's 3 times in 4 years Walker has prevailed over a major union effort.

HuffPost headline: "Obama: 'This Is Probably The Worst' Situation For Senate Democrats Since Eisenhower" -- Hmmm.. can I get a big Hallelujah and Amen !

Perhaps the biggest disappointment for Democrats happened in California..
Sandra Fluke.. that 30+ year old law student who complained she couldn't afford
birth control (or control her promiscuity for that matter)? She ran for a
California State Senate seat and got trounced... heh heh heh..

If there were any two races that Hillary wanted Democrats to win, Georgia
and Kentucky were the top ones. She was planning on two women candidates winning
to prop up her 2016 run as the first woman president. Both lost, and by large
enough margins that make Hillewinsky's relevance suspect.

I still do not understand Minnesota. Al Franken was a joke when he "won" in
2008, and the Republican Party did not unseat him this year.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, a.k.a.
the NAACP ,either needs to close up shop or change its name. We are all "colored
people..but the NAACP only thinks about one color.

Excuse me, but why are teachers opposed to "standardized tests"? By
"standardized", the same test is given to all students as a way of measuring the
basic learning of students throughout the country. Sure, care needs to be made
about the relevancy of every question to ensure students are being exposed to
pertinent facts and skills, but there's really no other way than "standardized
tests" to know the health of the education system.

On the other hand, I am opposed to the AR reading programs.. too many
classic books are not rated so children are not encouraged to read them.

L-E headline: "Columbus Regional to eliminate 219 jobs, includes 99
layoffs" -- Tell you what, rates for same procedures at St Francis are
considerably lower, and St Francis isn't doing this. There's probably a lot more
than was disclosed about recent administrative shake ups, and the Medicaid
investigations.
---
L-E headline: "Councilors, others pay tribute to former colleague Red
McDaniel" -- We all pray for the McDaniel family. Let's hope the Mayor does not
lessen Red's legacy by appointing an interim Councilor that was beaten by Red in
previous elections. Council needs a replacement that shares Red's love of then
city.

While the local TAD referendum did pass, and it will be years before
results will reveal whether it's good or damaging, remember one thing.. it did
not pass with the same votes as the other ballot initiatives did. Guess the
Breakfast Club effort to disclose the dangers worked to a degree, but not
enough.
---
Once again, I really question the L-E endorsement of Debbie Buckner in the
GA District 137 race. I like Mrs Buckner personally, but with a solid majority
of Republicans in the GA House, wouldn't electing a republican representative be
better for the voters of District 137?

As stated, I'm beginning a sabbatical.. Thanks for all your support and
comments. I do believe we have brought discussions of local, national, and world
wide event out in the open. It's really a shame that we cannot depend on our
local media to do this. One thing for sure, we are not alone in our thinking
that Columbus and America are good places to live, and that we all think
Columbus and America can be even better with our knowledge of what's going
on.
