HuffPOOPOO headline: "Dog Elected Mayor Of Cormorant, Minnesota -- Again" -- Oooops... my bad.. it's a Great Pyrenees.. I thought it would be a typical "yellow dig Democrat"...on the other hand, it must be nice to have a flea bitten mayor who doesn't know how to lie.

Online story: "Former President Jimmy Carter said Monday that he put on "a false, optimistic face" for months after he was diagnosed with skin cancer, telling fellow Habitat for Humanity workers that when he got the news last year, "I just thought I had a few weeks to live." -- Guess he'd forgotten he has retired presidential/Congressional healthcare, not OObamaCRAP.

---
Online headline: "CNN nabs ex-Fox News political analyst Kirsten Powers" -- Good grief.. CNN hired her away from Fox versus Alan Colmes or Juan Williams or Jemu Greene? Wonder why Fox didn't just throw in those three to CNN as a bonus.

From the "truth of the matter" department - Online Colin Powell/Hellary story: ""Her people have been trying to pin it on me ... The truth is, she was using [the private email server] for a year before I sent her a memo telling her what I did," Powell told People on Saturday." -- Whoa! "her people have been trying to pin it on me"? "her people"?. hmmm... bet this is not the end of this story

HuffPOOPOO headline: "John Kerry Warns South Sudan: Stick To The Peace Deal Or Face Sanctions" -- Huh.. speak wimply but carry a big sanction? I do believe the Kerry translation of Teddy Roosevelt's memorable message has been lost over the last century.

L-E headline/story: "Driver dies, students hospitalized after bus crash * The driver died and all seven students were taken to a hospital after a Muscogee County School District bus crashed Monday morning *  M***** C***, 9, was airlifted to another hospital, Word said. L**** S****** and M***** L******, both 5, remain at Midtown Medical Center in stable condition, and the four other students — 5-year-olds R***** D***** and J***** S*****, 6-year-old T**** T******* and 9-year-old C****** S***** — were treated and released, Word said. The nature of their injuries wasn’t released." -- We all grieve at the death of the driver and injuries to the children, but let's look at this from a different perspective.. why are 5 and 6 year olds riding buses to school? One of the ills the schools.. and students.. suffer from is the disconnect between families and teachers/schools. Wouldn't putting the responsibility back on the family to get their children to school be of benefit to the whole family .. and improve the relationships with the students' teachers? I remember substitute teaching at Columbus Jr High in 1976/77. One of my first classes was a general math class for 8th graders.. I was amazed at the low level of remedial math they were on, and as I was walking around the classroom as they were doing some math sheets on division, I noticed one that was skipping every 2nd or 3rd problem.. I stopped and pointed that out.. his response was that "the teacher said I could skip those because I can't do those problems with 2 or 3 numbers in the divisor..his classmate quickly confirmed that, and I went back to the desk to look at the regular teacher's "student notes for substitutes", and sure enough, that was written beside this student's name. I went back to that student, and told him "you and I are going to solve a couple of these..we struggled through the first one but guiding him to solve it ended in success.. he sat up straighter in his desk.. we tackled the next one applying what he just had experienced for himself.. he slowly tackled each step, and solved it without any intervention from me... he lit up like a light bulb. During my "planning period", I went and talked to the principal about the situation, and got the student's home phone number. I called it, and after confirming I had reached his mother, I "suggested" she make an appointment with the principal and teacher when she returned and straighten this out. She said she would.. but then she blew me away.. she asked where the school was.. he rode the bus for nearly 2 years and she had no clue where the school was.

Let's bring back neighborhood school assignments and make all the schools better!  and get rid of most of the busing!

Reminisced a bit last night..it was a slow Monday TV night, so I flipped over and watched some LL World Series action. I remember the dream.. also remember playing baseball up until Labor Day before starting school on that Tuesday afterwards. What happened to letting boys be boys?

Ryan Locte losing his endorsement contracts is a good start...now what about all the medal winners who embarrassed the USA by publicly disrespecting our country by not saluting our flag as the National Anthem was played.

---
I'm not sure if I heard this right, but I picked up on a conversation about the non-salute issue, and remember someone (though not sure it was an official of the USOC) saying that the American athletes were told they could exercise heir 1st Amendment rights as to whether they saluted or not..wait a minute.. when America is picking up the tab, theses athletes have an obligation to represent America to the best of their abilities in everything the world sees.

Online story: "Newly released emails reveal more instances of the Clinton Foundation appearing to reach out to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s State Department for favors involving wealthy donors – including Crown Prince Salman of Bahrain – according to a watchdog group that fought to obtain the emails *  the messages show Clinton aide Huma Abedin “provided influential Clinton Foundation donors special, expedited access to the secretary of state.” The documents include exchanges not previously turned over to the State Department. *  The exchange involving the crown prince of Bahrain occurred in June 2009. *  A statement released Monday by the court of the crown prince said his $32 MILLION dollar pledge "happened years before. 2005, and was wholly unrelated to any meeting with Secretary Clinton.‎" -- Good grief.. when the Godfather did you a favor, he expected a favor in return once you were in position to do him some good. Looks like the Crown Prince of Bahrain was calling in his favor now the Hellary was Secretary of State.

While driving by Lakebottom Park yesterday, I noted several trucks and crews performing tree service on the rights of way on Cherokee Avenue. As I rode by, I noted there were private sector trucks (Strickland Tree Service). Wait a minute, it wasn't too long ago that the City bought its own stump grinder, and a new cherry picker truck that had a 100' reach.. Why is the City using private sector services when the City has its own equipment and an arborist on the payroll?

If mainscream media were really concerned about politicians' morals, mainscream media would not have time to go after anyone else if it looked into  Hellary.

LBJ's "Great Society..War on Poverty" was the first blow AGAINST the black community... think about what happen to fathers in black families when the Democrat programs started giving checks for each baby born of out -of-wedlock to single teen girls.

When you're in the Columbus area ..and are truly hungry for something other than fast-food, you have to locate and visit Ed's in Phenix City (or Columbus). How can you not be lured in by " You haven't been fed, until you eat at Ed's".. this is a personal endorsement as my bride, myself, and numerous family members are loyal fans of Ed's, and eat there and use Ed's catering to as well.

Hellary Informed Voter's L-E "soundoff": "Speaking of poor judgment, Trump has gotten rid of two campaign managers and just hired a racist CEO for his campaign." -- "poor judgement"? Real poor judgement is not firing people when they are proven to not be qualified to get the job done.. Now, why hasn't ZERO-bama fired Lynch fro the DOJ and Comey from the FBI, and why hasn't Hellary fired Huma Abedin and Anthony Weiner? And speaking of "real poor judgement", why didn't voters "fie" Pat Hugley Green and Cathy Williams from the MCSB when it had the chance?

A Columbus icon, Ron Anderson, actor/mentor at the Springer Opera House, has been moved to Hospice.. Ron has been inspirational to so many people in so many ways, but especially following his diagnosis of inoperable Stage 4 pancreatic cancer 2 years ago.. Guess God is ready to finally bring him home, but who knows.. God kept him here for us a lot longer than anyone expected.. He may have plans we can't comprehend.. either way, we'll miss Ron Anderson.
