From the "I think I understand now" department - Online story: "Democratic Representative Adam Schiff on Sunday credited President Trump’s “unpredictability” and “bellicosity” for helping to make progress with North Korea. * The ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee said on ABC News’ ‘This Week,’ “I think it’s more than fair to say that the combination of the president’s unpredictability and indeed, his bellicosity had something to do with the North Koreans deciding to come to the table.” -- "unpredictability"? "bellicosity"? It's been too long since Schiff has been around a leader who still has his manhood! Sadly, as the "ranking DIMocrat" on the House Intelligence Committee, Schiff has become the icon of the failed condition of intelligence among DIMocrats.

A judge has put a 90 day hold on Stormy Daniels' suit against Michael Cohen because th judge feels that the government's criminal investigation against Cohen since what he could say in a civil suit could effect his 5th Amendment rights in the government's investigation Hey government, how about a criminal suit against Daniels for public admission of being a literal and figurative whore.

From the "who'da guessed" department - Online headline: "North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's toilet car goes wherever he goes" -- Hmmm... whoda guessed there are TWO "Poop-mobiles" in the world... Kim Jong Oooops has one as well as the Vatican City guy...
A very revealing bit of info was include in the above story... Kim Jong Oooops does not fly anywhere... after seeing the many missile failures , I can see why..especially when you consider if a plane carrying Kim Jong Oooops "went down", the North Korean airplane maintenance crew would be National Heroes.

L-E guest commentary headline: "COMMENTARY * Why does Trump treat immigrant kids so cruelly? * BY NICHOLAS KRISTOF * New York Times" -- What yellow journalism! I've got such a question for Nicholas Kristoff... "Hey, Kristoff, when did you stop beating your live in boyfriend"? This is just a valid a question as you "posed"...

Laugh of the day.....I heard the caravaners gathered in Tijuana are getting prepared to make a move to get legal entry into the US. Think about this..how do people without passports, visas or other documents feel they can legally gain entry?
One of the things we hear about is American lawyers going into Mexico and coaching illegal aliens on what to say in their appeal to gain asylum entry into our country.. You know, advice for a criminal is one thing, but to "aid & abet" in a potential fraud scheme... a.k.a. a CRIME.. is another.. I tell you what... if lawyers want to go to Mexico to do so, how about making in mandatory they swap their American citizenship with the illegal alien they pick...

Between his book, and testifying, and TV interviews, James Comey has really tripped himself up. Liars forget that when you tell lies, you have to remember which lies you told to which people.

I'm so glad Papa John's parted with the NFL ..we are enjoying ordering from there again.

Online headline/story: "Pelosi defends Hoyer after audiotape suggests interference in House race * In the recording released by the Intercept, a man they identified as Hoyer, D-Md., tells candidate Levi Tillemann, a 36-year-old entrepreneur running for Colorado’s 6th Congressional District seat, to drop out of the race in favor of party-backed Jason Crow. * “Yeah, I’m for Crow,” Hoyer was recorded saying at the December meeting in a Denver hotel. “I am for Crow because a judgment was made very early on. I didn’t participate in the decision." -- Good grief.. just like with Hellary being favored by backroom party politics doing a hit number on Bernie, this just proves that the Democrats care less what their base wants. Why even have a primary if the "more equal than others" make the decisions ahead of voting.

---
Online headline: "Paul Ryan's firing of House chaplain outrages Democrats" -- You know.. the DIMocrats have removed Christ and prayer from our schools, so why do they really object Ryan'[s removal of a "prayer guy"? Of course this country would be so much better off if the Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority Leader could remove DIMocrats who object to prayers in schools and the military.

Soapbox Moment: I'm sure there many of the Cosby victims who were really abused by him, but you have to wonder...even consider.. how many of the 62 felt it was a trade off for what they could ... or hope to..gain from getting into Cosby's world. I'm not excusing any of his actions involving 'date rape' drugs!

Hey, Mayor Tom_LYING-son... DROP THE RED INK PEN! Do you really feel City employees are going to like you again for proposing raises on your way out? You KNOW that it WON'T be YOU having to explain to them or the City taxpayers "what went wrong" with revenue collections.. Hey, Council.. stop the bleeding before it happens.. shut down her budget!

...
Hey MidTown Columbus.. howda ya like Mayor Tom-LYING-son now.. she's hung you out to dry with low income housing right in the heart of MidTown.. Oh.. and explain how your programs will give the developers "tax breaks" that MidTowners will have to make up via heir own tax payments.. Oh, and how about egress/ingress into that property.. bet the Mayor hasn't even shown you that either..

WTVM 9 story: "Sexually Transmitted Diseases are at an all-time high in Southwest Georgia, raising major concerns for the Southwest Public Health District. * Officials with Georgia's Department of Public Health said the number of people with STDs in South Georgia is at the highest level ever. * In fact, the Southwest Public Health District, which includes 14 Southwest Georgia counties, has the fourth largest number of infected individuals. * The only counties with more are Georgia's metro counties with much larger populations." -- Looks like Sex-ED and OObamaCRAP have both failed... as has Sanford Bishop's representation in Congress.

Was overhearing some hopeful women talking about the diets they had tried and currently "on" and what they could and couldn't eat . All they talked about was what they would eat next.. You know, I thought, dieting would be much easier...even more successful...if they were not always thinking and talking about food.

From the "FAKE NEWS" department - Online headline/story: "Trump finally hosts African leader at the White House * After more than a year in office, President Donald Trump for the first time is hosting an African president at the White House. The meeting with Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday comes after an uncomfortable start to the Trump administration's approach to the world's second most populous continent." -- "finally hosts African leader at the White House"? Where to begin... Oh yeah.. On April 3, 2017, that's right.. over a year ago.. President Trump welcomed the Egyptian President to the White House.. When I was in school, Egypt was in Africa.. of course, since liberal rewrites of history, who knows where mainscream media believes it is today.

From the "and we wonder why DIMocrat voters keep sending DIMocrats back to Congress" department - Online story: "A Seattle man who recently sought to end his monthly donation to a Hillary Clinton nonprofit group ran into a small roadblock: There was no way to cancel his contribution, according to a report. * Corey Koscielniak, 29, wanted to stop his $10.48 recurring tithe to Onward Together, the politician action organization Clinton formed after her 2016 election defeat, because the group disclosed little information on how it spent the money, he told the Seattle Times. * “Onward Together (OT) accepts payment information, but provides no ability to alter or cancel donations once the initial donation is received,” Koscielniak wrote in his complaint to the Washington state Attorney General’s Office." -- DIMocrat voters have been so brain-damaged by DIMocrat Kool-Aid that hey have no common sense left to know they CAN control their own lives.. What, one call to the voter's bank or credit card company should be sufficient to stop a "pledge" from being auto-deducted...

---
Trump is one smart person...for the second year, he did not attend the White House Correspondents Dinner in Washington.. instead, he attended a rally in Michigan. While mainscream media patted themselves on their backs, Trump went back and thanked the voters in Michigan...I don't think the WHCD participants had as much fun.. Trump-jokes fell flat and diners streamed out at the vulgarness of some of them. By the time Trump leaves office in 6 years, the WHCD just may be "history".. Trump today, Trump 2020!

L-E story: "Amid the shockwaves generated last week from NCR Corporation’s decision to close both of its plants in Columbus — costing more than 1,000 workers their livelihoods — one simple question was lost in the commotion: If not here, where will the company be manufacturing its ATMs and point-of-sale equipment that local workers are now making? * The firm informed the SEC it has signed a three-year contract with St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Jabil Inc. to produce the same ATM and self-service checkout systems that Columbus workers have been producing for nearly a decade." -- There isn't enough lipstick in the world to make Mayor Tom-LYING-son's Legacy... nor future Political plans look like anything but the "pig" they are..

---
Hmmm... is there any way a "roundabout" can be built that's a one-way exit out of Columbus that we can name for Tom-LYING-son as she makes the first bus ride on it?

---
While we can all say/feel a heartfelt "THANKS!" for Sam Wellborn's many faceted and fervored service to Columbus and GA... it is quite noticeable that when he noted the 3 projects he felt defined his service, it is rather obvious that he separated himself from the $244.000.00 "Queen TT Lounge" on the RiverWalk, and was totally "mum" on the still-not-started, still-not-cost-projected ROUNDABOUT on River Road at Bradley Park and Green Island Drives.

From the "Did I miss it?" department - L-E headline/story: "No debate: Mercer students make history * Mercer University national debate team champions Jaz Buckley and Kyle Bligen with their coach, Dr. Vasile Stanescu, at Mercer University’s Cruz Plaza on April 16. * “I always knew I wanted to be an attorney but I realized my senior year that I should maybe try debating,” Buckley said. “Two of my friends were on the team, they trained me really well and at my first tournament, I won.” * At her last high school debate competition of the year, Buckley went up against a senior from Peachtree City, who just so happened to be Bligen. The two said they remembered each other but didn’t think much about it until they both turned up at Mercer several months later." -- Congratulations to both, but since Jaz Buckley was from Columbus, I could only wonder why the L-E didn't mention which schools she attended here.. Success like this can.. and should... raise awareness of our schools and teachers that support achievement..From the "Did I miss it?" department - L-E headline/story: "No debate: Mercer students make history * Mercer University national debate team champions Jaz Buckley and Kyle Bligen with their coach, Dr. Have you ever noticed that Columbus is split into 2 different Congressional Districts.. and that Columbus is on the extreme outer edges of both? This is not good for Columbus today nor for the future.. Perhaps when Districts are redrawn following the 2020 Census, Columbus and Ft Benning can become a focus for a single Congressional Representative.

---
You know.. once again the L-E is letting down Columbus.. with early voting starting soon, the L-E has not run any "bios" of the candidates seeking our votes.. Columbus citizens.. and Columbus itself would be better off if the voters knew more about the candidates.. incumbents and challengers... so more informed picks can be made.

---
L-E headline: "Columbus man wounded in Easter morning shooting, shot and killed late Saturday night" -- 13

---
WTVM 9 headline: "Columbus police identify victim in deadly shooting on Alta Vista Dr." -- Hmmm ... 14..on track for 42 or more this year

L-E commentary headline/content: "Neo-Nazis guessed wrong about Southerners * BY JOHN A. TURES * Correspondent * Last week, the eyes of America were on the city of Newnan, Georgia, where the region held its breath while Neo-Nazis threatened a Charlottesville-style demonstration. This time they targeted immigrants instead of making Confederate monuments the issue. But the National Socialist turnout was pathetic. There’s a reason: Southerners aren’t who the neo-Nazis think they are." -- Hmm... nor are conservative Southerners anything like the stereotypes that DIMocrats, Hellary-ites, and mainscream media "feel" we are. Of course.. Tures is dead wrong on assuming conservative Southerners are represented in the select polls he references. Conservative Southerners still support our Constitution and laws.

Just for the record, I still haven't heard from MCSB District 6 board member and re-election candidate as to his professional opinion of what a 24' X 60' metal-on-slab building should cost..I've been disappointed that he hasn't stood up and protested the SPLOST projection of $312.00 a sq. ft..

I just got an e-mail offer from AMC movies.. It's an offer to Save $5.00 on the Popcorn Bucket... then I scrolled down to the smaller print and read this: "Have a bucket of fun at your next movie with the 2018 Annual Refillable Popcorn Bucket. Now just $15.99 for AMC Stubs® members ($19.99 for non-members). Looks more like it's a $4.00 "off" offer.. This is what has happened to out education system...

---
Early voting starts tomorrow in Columbus.. elsewhere in GA, too.. choose the Republican Primary or you will not be able to support Columbus' own Josh McKoon as Secretary of State in November. Also.. there are "non-binding issues at the bottom of the list.. a BIG NO on casinos.. and a very important YES on getting all tax referendums to be decided on the November General Election date.. this is very important and we need to add that local elections be determined on this date also.

From the "bias... what bias?" department - L-E headline: "Comey dismisses House probe that cleared Trump" -- Good grief..how can a fired liar dismiss a government report?

---
Another from the "bias... what bias?" department - L-E headline/story: "Trump to host African leader at the White House" -- After more than a year in office, President Donald Trump for the first time is hosting an African president at the White House. The meeting with Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday comes after an uncomfortable start to the Trump administration’s approach to the continent."

L-E guest commentary: "Charter schools are helping racial minorities and poor students
BY KYLE WINGFIELD Special to The Telegraph" -- Hmmm... and who has been FOR Charter Schools/School Choice all this time.. the Republicans and taxpayers... and who's fought it all this time DIMocrats and School Unions.

Haven't spotted it in the L-E, but Mississippi State is the 2108 SEC Men's Tennis Champion! State beat Texas A&M 4-3 with the final match extended to a tie-breaker of the #6 singles after 3 sets.. Whew!

Friday, April 27, 2018

Saw an online headline that read, "FBI contradicts White House's Rob Porter timeline"." I thought to myself... the headline might as well have read, "FBLie contradicts White House's Rob Porter timeline". You know.. Mueller, Comey, and McCabe may have forever damaged the image.. the sanctity... to the American public.

From the "as Fred Sanford would say, ""It's the big one, I'm coming to join you Elizabeth!" department - Online headline/story: "UC Berkeley can't block lawsuit alleging censorship of conservatives, judge rules * U.S. District Judge Maxine Chesney in San Francisco said two conservative groups can proceed with a lawsuit claiming the university imposed its “major events” policy and an earlier policy for “high-profile speakers” -- resulting in unreasonable restrictions and fees suppressing conservative speech on campus" -- Can I get a "Hallelujah!"... and an "AMEN!" Could it be that the first chink has been dealt to the armor of Californian liberalism?

---
From the "greatest oxymoron ever" department - Online headline/story: "Speaker Ryan forces out the House chaplain * House Speaker Paul Ryan has ousted the chaplain of the House of Representatives, according to his resignation letter — a move that's angered Democrats and defenders of the Jesuit priest. * When Ryan gave Pelosi advance notice about Conroy's departure, she made it clear that she disagreed with the speaker and that she had had only received positive feedback about Conroy's service, a Pelosi aide said." -- Good grief.. Queen Pelosi.. the woman who hasn't seen an abortion she doesn't like; the woman who led the DIMocrat "sit-down" when the President praised our military during his SOTU, the woman who objects to prayer in school and military, suddenly wants to defend a House chaplain.... More duct tape please... my head is about to explode!

---
Online headline: "North, South Korea agree to goal of 'complete denuclearization' of Korean peninsula" -- Whatta difference when the world respects the strength of America under a president with decisive... versus "divisive"...leadership!

---
Online story: "The child of a White House reporter visiting the press briefing room as part of Take Your Child to Work Day asked White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders a tough question on Thursday: Why did President Donald Trump fire former James Comey as FBI director? * Sanders replied, "He did some things that weren't really very nice, so that's why the president let him go." -- Hmmm.. Aside from the fact that DFCS should probably investigate the parenting skills of one who would coerce his/her child to ask a "planted question", Sarah Huckabee should have asked the child to ask her parent why he/she didn't ask Obama why he DIDN'T fire Comey in 2016... or sooner.

---
Online story: " The U.S. Senate Select Committee on Ethics said on Thursday that Senator Robert Menendez violated congressional rules by "knowingly and repeatedly" accepting impermissible gifts over a six-year period and must repay their fair market value.
* Menendez, a Democrat from New Jersey, was indicted several years ago on criminal corruption charges related to the gifts that he received from Dr. Salomon Melgen, a Florida eye doctor who was convicted of Medicare fraud earlier this year. * Despite the court outcome, the Ethics Committee, made up of three Republican senators and three Democratic senators, found that he violated Senate rules. * Menendez's trial ended with a hung jury late last year and Justice Department prosecutors subsequently asked the judge to dismiss the charges against him." -- Good grief.. whatta role-reversal.. the Senate overruling the court system... some heads.. specifically the ones at DOJ that "asked the judge to dismiss the charges against Menendez", should be lopped off!

---
Let's make sure this doesn't just go away without being fully investigated.. I'm talking about the Congressional Train Wreck involving the Republicans on AMTRAK colliding with that garbage truck following the President's SOTU speech. Yeah, that one..the one with the truck being intentionally stopped on the rails with 3...basically suicidal ... men who stayed in the truck's cab when they had plenty of time to vacate it.

---
I'm confused...after all the stores that have left Columbus in the past 2 years, why is Council even going to entertain a budget increase offered by Mayor Tom-LYING-son? What she's doing is trying to PAD her POLITICAL RESUME at the expense of the new mayor who will have to deal with revenue shortages to cover her deceit in making raises to City Employees on her way out of office.

---
From the "hold-over department of Obama over-regulations" department - I opened up the "instructions" that came with a poly-something wading pool I bought for an activity for my granddaughter's upcoming birthday party (can you believe she's almost 6!). It's a blue, one-piece molded, 10" deep wading pool.. the instructions actually say "some adult assembly required" and "no diving". No wonder businesses failed in the Obama era.. too many regulations made manufacturing a nightmare for business people.

---
OK...did you realize that there was a Special Congressional election in Arizona Tuesday....Mainscream media and the DIMocrats worked hard at what they thought was a stepping stone to a "Blue Tsunami" for the November Elections. Guess what... the Republican won despite mainscream media efforts. OK, DIMocrats.. can't wait to see you in November!

Online story: "Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams is more than $200,000 in debt. * Abrams, 44, wrote an op-ed for Fortune explaining how student loans, cash-strapped parents, and a sibling who struggles with drug addiction contributed to her financial burden. * "Once you dig a hole, you're always trying to dig out," she told CNNMoney on Wednesday. "This is something I'm living everyday." -- Good grief.. and now she feels she can run a balance-required budget that's the "safety net" for all Georgians? If she were to win...I'd be willing to bet that by the time she finished her 4 -year term, GA would be in debt, and she'd be rolling in dough.

From the "somebody is listening" department - Online headline/story: "Atlanta to examine if ‘excessive’ bonuses given by Reed were legal * Bonuses awarded to former Mayor Kasim Reed’s top staff in the waning days of his administration were higher than the $350,000 reported Tuesday by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution." -- Legal is not the only.. nor real issue here.. payouts leaving office are basically akin to bribery/hush money..

---
L-E headline: "New evidence can’t be heard in residency appeal" -- In 2010, I supported Zeph Baker.. two weeks ago, at his invitation we met for breakfast and conversation.. we talked about his residency issues, and I noted that there were issues I was concerned about .. that he was having tax information at his Bolton and Boby Court properties mailed to different addresses.. and he has had that corrected since.. we also talked about his new life, and I praised him for finding new love and family.. not once did he respond that he was involved in existing domestic issues.. I can not support him now, even though I like ideas that he spoke of.. to work towards getting a branch campus of Columbus Tech built off Victory Drive, and the need for a forensic audit.. not just to find fault, but to reassure the taxpayers that the City is working for them.. My vote/support for a new mayor is wide open for the other candidates to gain ..

The confirmation of Mike Pompeo as our new Secretary of State reveals the number one problem in America... politics.. and there's one solution that can circumvent such in the future..TERM LIMITS!.. 6 DIMocrats (and 1 Independent)crossed party lines.. but 5 of those did so because they are running for re-election.. in states that Trump won in 2016...politicians are so entrenched in making a term-of-service into a permanent career, that they do what's best for themselves, not the citizens of their country. Shamefully embarrassing is that the DIMocrat leader in the Senate, Chuck Schumer .. even with the obvious confirmation at hand, did not support Pompeo's nomination..

---
L-E headline: "Regions Bank closing downtown Columbus branch in August" -- Hmm.. another "red" asterisk on the legacy of Mayor Tom-LYING-son...

---
L-E headline: "Synovus leader points to rising profits, $100M in first quarter, at brief annual meeting -- Hmmm... and no mention about the impact of a 40% reduction in the federal income tax bite in this quarters' profit report.. that came because of President Trump.

---
L-E headline/story: "Facebook rules at a glance: What’s banned, exactly? * Facebook has revealed for the first time just what, exactly, is banned on its service in a new Community Standards document released on Tuesday." -- Whatta joke.. Facebook recently ruled that a complaint of a Facebook Page called/dedicated to "Kill Trump, Hang Him, Hunt Him" did NOT "violate their community standards"../ Facebook has backtracked since under overwhelming responses from us that felt "violated" by Facebook's standards..

Thursday, April 26, 2018

I see where Synovus is on the lookout for " merging " possibilities...you know, when you advertise "you're looking", bigger companies are alerted to gobbling you up..

Why the rabid interest now? None of..well most of us have never been tolerant of sexual assaults/abuse, but there seems to be a surge of anger from the left like never seen before about weeding it out of politics and entertainment. Could it simply be that the Clintons are no longer going to get access to the White House again?

---
The DIMocrat platform for the November Elections seems to focus on raising taxes, open borders , granting illegals voting rights, free college, free healthcare and government jobs for everyone. Seems to me that we need more mental health inquiries as to DIMocrat voters rights to vote than we do for them to buy guns.

---
From the "now we know" department - After watching Congressional DIMocrats/Socialists sit quietly as Trump praised our military during the State of the Union speech, it was disconcerting to watch the DIMocrats/Socialists give a standing "O" when the French President talked about "climate change", but it was even more dumbfounding to listen to to the deadly silence from the DIMocrats/Socialists when Macron praised Democracy.

---
I'm curious...when Sally Lasseter was on the MCSB , she got pummeled by the L-E and DIMocrats when it was disclosed that she had children in a private school..A couple of weeks ago, it was disclosed that Kia Chambers' child attends a private school but neither the L-E nor DIMocrats seem the least bit concerned. This is a goose/gander thing with me.

---
While it's good that so many people have stood up to run for local office this election period, we need some review of what is/isn't a disqualifier... One candidate immediately withdrew as soon as he found out he couldn't be involved in T.A.D.s if he sat on a taxing authority (Council and MCSB are such) yet we have an incumbent MCSB member running for re-election (Chambers) and she is an owner of 4 different real estate business venture and T.A.D. development is part of those businesses, and we have one mayoral candidate (Henderson) who's a "lifer" in real estate. One MCSB candidate (Edmondson) resigned from a job in the MCSD to run, and one of his opponents (Steed) has an active $165,000.00 contract with the MCSD, another MCSB member (Buckner) actually works for another county's school system. Another MCSB candidate (Obleton) works in another state's (AL) school system... and a mayoral candidate (Baker) has a Homestead Exemption in another County, several Muscogee County properties (one on Brooks Rd is not even listed in financial reports) and address/viability status issues with local business entities,, and hasn't bothered to file his required donation/expenditure disclosures.. Another Council candidate (Bryan) actually works for the Chamber of Commerce which gets $1,000,000.00 in local tax dollars... and she heads the Chamber efforts for "Growth and Development"... and we see how that's diving even when most of the state is soaring..

---
L-E headline/story: "Michael Vick is returning to Atlanta for new football opportunity * Vick has been announced as the offensive coordinator for Atlanta’s new professional football team in The Alliance of American Football league. The team will have former Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress as its head coach and will play its home games at Turner Field " -- Hmmm... let's pray Vick doesn't get the concession contracts for supplying "hot dogs".

---
L-E headline/story: "Officials: Mold-covered bodies found at Detroit funeral home * Two bodies appeared to be covered in mold and the facial area of a third body was covered in unknown fluids at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Detroit on Wednesday, when state regulators inspected the establishment and ordered its closure. * Licensing bureau discovered "deplorable, unsanitary conditions" and remains in advanced stage of decomposition at the funeral home located on Detroit's east side." -- "deplorable"? Hmmm... I guess these were the "dead" that didn't vote for Hellary in Michigan.. guess she'll write another "excuse book" for an update.

WTVM 9 headline/story: "Columbus City Council won't take action in $16M housing plan * The Columbus City Council won't take action in a $16 million housing plan, but organizers say they will continue with their plan. * That plan would bring close to 100 homes to the city of Columbus. The decision comes after council members said the housing project would cause problems due to the location being on the National Historic Registry." -- Hmmm... hey MidTown, you've been abandoned.... did you notice Mayor Tom-LYING-son... she don't say "nuthin".. Oh, and while it may/may not have not been said yet, I'm betting the project will file for T.A.D. funding/favors...between this and the request for the development near the intersection of Manchester Expressway/J.R Allen Parkway, these are NOT the type of projects Tom-LYING-son preached about getting the issue passed.

---
Online headline: "'I'm ashamed of Republicans': James Comey goes in on the GOP during CNN town hall" -- Good grief.. desperate time bring desperate measures...James Comey.. you COULD resolve every issue with one statement, "I, James Comey, and embarrassed for my actions as Director of the FBI."

---
How was this story reported by WTVM 9 not get reported on in this L-E story? L-E headline: "Columbus mayor proposes 2.4 percent increase to budget" --
WTVM 9 headline/story: "Columbus City Council won't take action in $16M housing plan * The Columbus City Council won't take action in a $16 million housing plan, but organizers say they will continue with their plan. The only thing I can think of as why the L-E omitted "mentioning this" is that the L-E only wants to print "news" that makes Tom-LYING-son look good if old stories are dug up in her future political endeavors...sounds a tad bit like "collusion".

---
There's really only one major difference between DIMocrats and Republican platforms.. The DIMocrats is built on voters being :victims" and unable to achieve , while the Republican platform says, :"we believe you can make it on your own, and we'll do our best to make it happen by keeping government out of your face... and wallets.

---
Even education caters to making people "victims"... now "history" is presented as why you have no future rather than "here's what happened.. here's where to start your research about it, and with more knowledge we can keep us from doing it again".

From the "taking bets on the messenger's funeral date" department - L-E Guest Commentary headline/content: "COMMENTARY *Educational fraud continues *BY WALTER E. WILLIAMS * Earlier this month, the 2017 National Assessment of Educational Progress, aka The Nation’s Report Card, was released. It’s not a pretty story. Only 37 percent of 12th-graders tested proficient or better in reading, and only 25 percent did so in math. Among black students, only 17 percent tested proficient or better in reading, and just 7 percent reached at least a proficient level in math." -- How dare Walter E. Williams speak the truth! The real question is, "Why doesn't the educational system take this information and use it to stop the bleeding?" The rub is that theses statistics are just the end results of not making sure all students have achieved proficient reading skills before they are advanced past the 3rd grade..

---
From the "DOH!" department - L-E guest commentary headline: "OTHER VIEWPOINTS *
Aggressively liberal professors are pushing conservative students toward Trump * BY BRADLEY SCHOBER * The Baltimore Sun " -- You know.. the only lesson liberals will learn from this is to back-off the most vitriol attacks, and concentrate on getting their message of "victimization" the students came to college already indoctrinated in high school curriculum..

Online story: "A third federal judge on Tuesday ruled against the Trump administration's campaign to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program for undocumented immigrants, ordering the administration to not only continue processing applications but also to resume accepting new ones." -- What is it with lower court judges even having a voice on a US program created by one president that isn't even a law.. what is their authority at ruling whether an Executive Order is "constitutional" or not.. Congress has the power to "undo" a presidential order, the sitting president has the power to curtail a previous president's EOs , and the US Supreme Court also has standings of equality with Congress and the President.. lower court judges "ruling" on non-laws are just "activists", and not far removed from "grandstanding".

By the way.. 3 out of 100's of such judges is not a presiding opinion.

Online headline/story: "Busloads of migrants from 'caravan' arrive at US-Mexico border *
By evening, two busloads of men, women and children arrived in Tijuana, a city that grazes southern California. * Another four busloads were making their way north from Hermosillo, a city 432 miles south of the border, where the migrants had been stalled for days." * Rodrigo Abeja, a coordinator from immigrant rights group Pueblo Sin Fronteras that has been organizing similar caravans for several years, said the caravan planned to regroup before making any decisions. * "They will wait for all those seeking asylum to be together," Abeja said." -- Let's see.. undocumented people from Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala.. three of the worst countries for crimes are traveling through Mexico,, the 4th rated worst country for crimes to seek entry into our country ahead of those that properly file documents for legal entry... I don't think so!

Writer's notes: "Researchers at CNSNews have previously reported that Mother Jones is a “news outlet” of The Foundation for National Progress, the left-wing "umbrella organization that exists to publish and support Mother Jones." It also founded the Media Consortium. The FNP received $485,000 in Soros funding in 2008. The Media Consortium, also still under the umbrella of the FNP, has received $675,000 since 2000, adding up to $1,160,000. Those figures come from 990 forms from Soros' Open Society Foundations. There's almost nothing Soros doesn't have his hands in."

In an April 3, 2018 "press release, Pueblo Sin Fronteras said, " WE DEMAND TO BE TREATED AS CITIZENS”

Online commentary headline/content: "STACEY ABRAMS Commentary: My $200,000 Debt Should Not Disqualify Me For Governor of Georgia * One of the traditional rites of passage for political candidates is the revelation of financial status–a catechism-like recital of money mistakes made and debts owed. * As everyone following the race now knows, I owe the IRS over $50,000 in deferred tax payments (I am currently on a repayment plan) and hold more than $170,000 in credit card and student loan debt. * But it should not—and cannot—be a disqualification for ambition." -- Good grief.. Abrams is 44 years old, and still doesn't have her own financial world in order, and her primary responsibility as a Governor of GA will be to control a balanced budget...no, being in debt doesn't disqualify her... but .. BUT it sure raise question about her abilities to our Governor.

You know, if I were an officer of the Georgia Bar Association, I think I'd have her law practice escrow accounts audited... today!

Online headline: "Trump glares at reporter who asks if he will pardon Michael Cohen: 'Stupid question'" -- If you didn't like Trump before yesterday, you would if you heard his response to a mainscream media-ite yelling out that question.. Trump looked in that direction and said "what a stupid question" then moved on.

From the "liberals and ACLU do not care about you...period!" department - HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Greyhound is choosing to let Border Patrol demand its passengers' papers * Border Patrol officers routinely board buses without a warrant, without specific people they’re targeting, up to 100 miles from the border — and ask passengers for their papers. Greyhound, the nation’s largest intercity bus line, lets the Border Patrol do it and doesn’t plan to stop. * Greyhound officials say they’re just complying with the law. But 10 ACLU state affiliates argue Greyhound has the right — and the responsibility to its passengers — to demand a warrant for Border Patrol officers to board its buses. * They believe Greyhound could fight for its rights and win. But first they have to convince the company to try. * “The starting place is to not give your consent,” said Jordan Wells, an attorney for the New York Civil Liberties Union." -- You know, we should APPLAUD Greyhound... for looking after the safety of all its passengers and staff...why would Greyhound NOT WANT the Border Patrol to check out to make sure a criminal is not on board who could endanger passengers and staff alike.

I tell you what.. with the rise in using rental trucks to run down people on sidewalks.. maybe Sen Feinstein should introduce a new law requiring a photo-Voter's_ID card and a 7 day background check before anyone can rent a truck.

Online story: "Three missing Mexican students were killed last month in the western state of Jalisco and their bodies dissolved in acid after criminals confused them with members of a rival gang, authorities said Monday. * The three film students were last seen in the municipality of Tonala after their car broke down and they were later kidnapped by at least six people, who tortured and killed them, according to Jalisco state prosecutors. * "Subsequently their bodies were dissolved in acid so that no trace of them remained," the state prosecutors office said. * State prosecutor Raul Sanchez said that two people had been arrested so far in the investigation." -- "kidnapped by at least six people"? ... " two people had been arrested so far"? .. Hmmm... sorta implies that at least 4.. maybe more.. criminals may have already illegally crossed our border and gone to...or are headed to... a California "sanctuary city"..Build the WALL!

From the "As Her World Crumbles" department - Online story: "Police released a video Tuesday showing a former financial adviser to Hillary Clinton getting involved in a heated, profanity-laced confrontation with several officers. * Most recently, Turner has been a commissioner with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and was chairwoman of its ethics committee, Politico reported. * According to a police report from March 31, Turner's daughter had been pulled over on Route 9W by Tenafly, N.J., police, but allegedly could not provide proof of insurance or registration. So Turner was called to the scene to help resolve the matter, NJ.com reported. * Police video then shows Turner demanding to know what was going on, and brandishing her credentials as a Port Authority commissioner. * She was forced to resign last week because of the interaction with police during Easter weekend. * “The Port Authority has zero tolerance for ethics violations,” PA spokesman Ben Branham told the website. " -- Hellary who?

Online story: "A California State University, Fresno professor who called Barbara Bush "an amazing racist" and cheered her death will not be punished, the president of the university announced Tuesday. * Randa Jarrar was acting as a private citizen using her personal Twitter account so her remarks didn't violate any California State University or campus policies, Fresno State President Joseph Castro wrote in announcing the results of a review." -- "Randa Jarrar was acting as a private citizen using her personal Twitter account so her remarks didn't violate any California State University or campus policies"? Excuse me,, but when an (_@_) touts her "tenure: as protection, then she is hiding behind the school, and that, my friends, deflates the ruling by the school.

You know.. what the California University system is not confronting is Jarrar's racist talk/attitude.. it reminds me how how a juror in the Menendez brothers' trial was sympathetic to them because "they were orphans".. of course they were orphans their parents were dead... after being brutally shot multi-times with shotguns.

A big question to ask Amy Bryan of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce's "Growth and Development" department...and candidate for City Council seat 10 is, "What did you know...and when... about NCR's plan to close up shop?"

---
Seeing NCR announcing that it's leaving Columbus with over 1000 unemployed friends and neighbors, and remembering how Mayor Tom-LYING-son "preached" buying locally, but noticing that Tom-LYING-son supporter Synovus bought all it new ATMs from a German company, a fellow BCer reminded me that the CPD bought replacement guns for the whole department... but didn't buy them locally from H&K...

You know.. NCR puling completely out of Columbus is really going to affect other national companies as how they "see" Columbus..... hey, Amy Bryan..isn't this your area of expertise at the Chamber?

---
Online story: "As Mayor Kasim Reed was leaving office last December, more than a half a million dollars in year-end bonuses and Christmas party contest winnings was paid to dozens of employees working for Mayor Reed. * Those bonuses ranged from $5,000 to $15,000 dollars per employee. Employees ranged from the Mayor's scheduler to department heads and Commissioners." -- You know.. whether deserved or not, exit bonuses reek of abuse of the tax payers...it sorta looks like the former Mayor is buying loyalty from former employees.... basically "hush money".

---
Hey, Board of Elections..would you check with Panama City Beach, FL to see if my declared residence in Columbus, GA would allow me to run for Mayor there if I bought a vacation/rental condo there?

---
There seems to be quite a buzz in MidTown here in Columbus.. word has leaked out that a prominent piece of property on Wynnton at the "gate" of Hilton Avenue will become a public housing... taxpayer supported public housing.. Hey Mayor Tom-LYING-son.. are you moving out of MidTown after the first of the year... inquiring voters want to know.. Hmmm... and I guess we need to ask if this will qualify for the T.A.D. programs you championed?

---
L-E headlines: "TSYS starts year strong; profit shows 34% gain" * Synovus reports $100.6 million profit" -- Here it is folks.. this is what the new Trump tax bill is going to do for America...it puts more money in private sector play for better salaries and more jobs for growth!

---
L-E headline/story: "Trial opens in bystander’s ’14 killing * Anthony Deshon Walker was gunning for Keith Turner the night he fatally shot Marvine Bailey outside her home on Forsyth Street in Columbus, prosecutors told jurors Monday during opening statements in Walker’s murder trial in Muscogee County Superior Court." -- Ooops.. I can see it now..another one of those "it's not murder because I wasn't aiming at her defense". Wonder what kind of "odds" Las Vegas has on another "jury fail"?

---
From the "if you can't impress them with brilliance, dazzle them with BS" department - L-E headline/story: "Financial tech company to add 55 jobs in Columbus * InComm, a financial technology company that has been in Columbus since 2006, is preparing to add 55 jobs to its existing workforce here as part of a $20 million expansion in Georgia. * “We are excited that InComm will be adding 55 new jobs to its Columbus location,” R*** C*******, Development Authority of Columbus chairman, said in a statement. “Columbus continues to be well positioned for companies that are engaged in business support services and we know that InComm is expanding here because they are able to find the talented people they need, many of whom have prior military service.” -- Hmmm.. it's amazing the Development Authority of Columbus can try to cover up the loss of 1,000 jobs with picking up about 50...maybe...

Once again.. Toronto this time.. a man drives a rental truck on to a sidewalk, kills 10, injures another 15, and the first thing mainscream media and government do is deny it was "terrorism". Why not ask the 15 survivors and all the others that were able to avoid being run over if they felt "terrorized".

---
Online headline: "Flight records obtained by Bloomberg shed new light on Trump's heavily scrutinized Moscow trip -- and they seem to contradict what he told James Comey" -- Hmmm... based on plane records that doesn't even have a passenger list.. "they seem to contradict what he told James Comey"? You know, Comey knows, we all know, that what Comey says Hellary told him in interviews definitely contradict what Comey told us afterwards a focus's on something that "seems" contradictory versus things that are "known" to be contradictory to EVIDENCE, and yet mainscream media focuses on the "seems" rather than "the known". Talk about COLLUSION!

---
Was nice to see Rand Paul took another look at his political future and supported Mike Pompeo as the new Secretary of State...Republicans had better start listening to their constituents than mainscream media.

---
Online headline: "A self-described "real Indian" who is running against Mass. Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren is suing after city officials demanded he take down his signs calling her a "fake Indian."" -- You know... this is what's happened by the last 50 years or so of liberalism and political correctness.. DIMocrats and Mainscream Media have adopted their on interpretation of the 1st Amendment.. you have no rights to speak the truth...

---
I may have missed it in the local news, but did hear of a school bus accident with a truck at the intersection of Blackmon and Warm Springs Rds. Hmmmm..that's one of the Mayor's roundabouts.

---
Online headline/story: "Report reveals California does a poor job helping their homeless * California does a poor job helping homeless people who live in cars, abandoned buildings and on the street find shelter and must do more to address the problem in their state that leads the nation in homelessness, the state's auditor said on Thursday. * Lawmakers should require the state's newly formed homeless council to create and implement a statewide plan by next April for addressing homelessness in California, where about a fourth of all homeless people in the United States live, State Auditor Elaine Howle said in a report." -- And from the vote counts, all the homeless still wanna believe Helarry and the DIMocrat Party's tales/promises that "we're from the givernment and we're here to help"
From the same story: "Three out of every four of the 55,000 homeless people in the Los Angeles metro area are in a similar situation, living in a car, abandoned buildings or on the street. In contrast, only one out of every 20 of the 76,000 homeless people in New York, the nation's largest metro area, are unsheltered, the report said." -- Heh heh heh... OK, Sen Feinstein.. how about a new law that says all homeless people in Los Angeles must move to NYC...or their own benefit...

Though no "breakdown" of the MCSD's proposed Security Program for the next school year has been published, why is it necessary... even desired.. that the MCSD be in charge of such.. I can see a more co-operative arrangement between the MCSD and Columbus Law Enforcement departments would be more efficient and less duplicative in administrative costs... I mean, how can we expect the MCSD be successful in this aspect when it's not so successful in its PRIMARY objective?

Another question: Why is the MCSD so EAGER to tackle Security when it was also so EAGER to bring in outside educational businesses to handle problem children?

---
L-E guest commentary headline: "How long will the religious stand by Donald Trump? * BY ANDREW MALCOLM * Special to McClatchy" - Interesting question...in simple language, long as the DIMocrats try to diminish the presence of God...Christians know God picked many flawed people to bring His message to the masses, and we understand why..

From the "Tom-LYING-son's Lasting Legacy" department - L-E headline/story: "NCR closing its Columbus plants, more than 1,000 jobs will be lost * NCR Corp., which has been a manufacturing employer in Columbus since 2009, said Monday that it is closing both of its Columbus plants, as well as another facility in Beijing. * More than 1,000 jobs will be lost in Columbus due to the plant closures, with about 360 of those full-time NCR employees and another 679 working at its plants through temporary staffing companies. The total is 1,039. * One Columbus plant will close in August, the company said, with the other winding down in September and shutting down completely by in October." -- and this was foreseeable.. I mentioned sometime back that I was stunned that Synovus picked a German manufacturer's ATM machines to replace their old ones rather than "buying Locally".. Sadly, Mayor Tom-LYING-son will still be "the face of Columbus for the next 8 months even though a new mayor will be elected in May and have to deal with this loss of jobs, disposable income, and tax revenues as Columbus heads into the Christmas sales season. Hey, Mayor.. be sure to highlight this in RED on your political resume.. well at least confer with Hellary for "reasons" your political journey is over..

---
You know.. the first fatality of NCR closing shop may be the campaign of Tony McCool who is a Supply Chain Manager at NCR.. Hey, anybody out here in Columbus who's interested in a new direction by the MCSB have a job to offer to McCool?

---
Now that her book sales have peaked...especially to people who will not even read it, you really gotta wonder, that even though Hellary's "speaking fees"have dropped to the $15K-$25K range, why anyone would want to hear her repeating her old vitrol..even for free.

---
Soapbox Moment: You know.. since neither RINO-Republicans nor DIMocrats in Washington, nor mainstream media contemplated the voters' support for Donald Trump's message, why are we concerned about the RINO-Republicans, DIMocrats, or mainscream media's ideas on what America wants or needs?

---
Did you see the picture of of the AR-15 type semi-automatic rifle the sicko who killed 4 at a Nashville Waffle House...it's described as looking like an assault weapon. Hmmm.. it also looked like the handle of an automatic umbrella, too...guess Sen Feinstein will be introducing new laws prohibiting umbrella design concepts.

You know.. since the sicko had his gun given back ti him by his father, do you wonder if the sicko might have silently thought, "This one's for you, Dad!" as he pulled the trigger?

And we ought to really examine the mental health of the government official in Washington who had the sicko's rifle, but returned it to the sicko's dad who, in turn, gave it back to his sicko son.

---
Unfortunately, it's not so much a question if the MCSB SPLOST construction manager asked MCSB member Mark Cantrell for his expert opinion about constructing metal-on-slab wrestling buildings, but of one as to why DIDN'T the construction manager ask Cantrell about the estimates before they were voted on.

---
Looks like Zeph Baker has a lot more to deal with than residency issues here...and being able to support his local residency claims after new documents pinpoint his address, legally.. and for his children's school address, as in Coweta County.

---
L-E story: "When Piedmont Healthcare and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia signed an agreement Friday night, it proved to be good news for Columbus patients of Piedmont’s two local hospitals and physician groups * The existing contract expired on March 31, but now has been extended until the end of May when the new deal will begin. It runs into 2021. * The agreement ensures that Anthem Blue Cross members can see their Piedmont doctors and visit Piedmont hospitals as “in network” without incurring higher out-of-pocket costs, including covering visits and services delivered since April 1, according to a news release by Piedmont." -- Seriously,, did any "think" that Piedmont would adopt Columbus Regional rates for its Atlanta operation? Now, the BIG question that hasn't been responded to.. at least not publicly, is what Council will do about its original contract for guaranteed property tax mils for Columbus Regional to help with local indigent care needs.. This contract needs to be terminated!

---
From the "there's a difference in an unintentional or unplanned shooting than an "accidental" one" department - Sad, sad L-E headline/story: "9-year-old shot in ‘freak accident’ at public housing complex, Columbus police say * The gun, which Maj. J.D. Hawk would only identify as a firearm, accidentally discharged when it hit the ground." -- First let's pray that the young man is still alive this morning and will recover. What amazes me is that with all the precaution gun manufacturers take to design that a gun's trigger be involved in firing, that we still have reports of "accidental" shootings, and guns "going off accidentally while being cleaned".. somehow, the barrel had to be aimed and the trigger engaged ....

---
From the "what about the illegals" department - L-E headline/story: Sen. Sanders to unveil plan to guarantee every American a job * Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., will unveil a plan for the federal government to guarantee a job paying $15 an hour and health-care benefits to every American worker “who wants or needs one,” embracing the kind of large-scale government works project that Democrats have shied away from in recent decades.
* Sanders’ jobs guarantee would fund hundreds of projects throughout the United States aimed at addressing priorities such as infrastructure, heath care, the environment, education and other goals." -- I knew it! Bernie must have gotten his college degree at the "University of Looney Tunes".. What is it about DIMocrats/Socialists that they cannot see that when Trump reduced government involvement in businesses that the jobs and economy started soaring?

---
L-E guest commentary headline: "How to reduce the vast black-white wealth gap * BY NOAH SMITH * Bloomberg" -- You know.. victimization of oneself is more deadly than what anyone else can do to another.. What America needs is for advocates that constantly put down the abilities and opportunities for the Americans be shut off access from mainsceam media and microphones.. the best way to equalize opportunities is to BUILD UP the CONFIDENCE for achievement in the opportunities that await all Americans.

---
From the "Hey, Mayor Tom-LYING-son, our reputation you've given us has leaked out" department - department - L-E headline.story: "Gunfire leads to player’s arrest * COLUMBUS, GA. * A National Arena League football player is accused of firing a gun in an arena parking lot as players confronted each other after a game in Columbus, Georgia.
* Florida’s Jacksonville Sharks said in a statement there was an “altercation” between Sharks and Columbus Lions players outside the Columbus Civic Center Saturday night. * Muscogee County Jail records show that Sharks defensive end Leon Mackey faces charges of discharging a gun near a highway; and reckless conduct causing harm/ endangering safety." -- Hmmm... guess even out-of-town sports figures perceive that they have to provide their own security in Columbus. Even sadder is that the L-E chose to hide this in a "miscellaneous" sport's page column rather than alert Columbus voters via the Front Page!

From the "whatta a difference of having a America GREAT AGAIN" department - Online story: "North Korea will suspend nuclear and missile tests effective immediately and abolish a nuclear test site in a bid to pursue economic growth and peace on the Korean peninsula, the North's state media said on Saturday, ahead of planned summits with South Korea and the United States." -- Hmmm.. between Obama not defending "the line" he drew for ASSwad, and Obama sending DENNIS RODMAN as an example of American diplomacy,, Kim Jong Oooops realizes Trump WILL send a few 100 missiles to destroy his regime.

---
From the "can you hear me now?" department - Online headline: "Democratic Party sues Russia, Trump campaign for allegedly disrupting 2016 election" -- Hmmm....could it be that the DIMocratic Party is just so desperate for campaign funds that it feels that Trump and Russia will settle out of court because it's less expensive to pay off a nuisance than keep fighting it in court?

---
From the "liars figure a lot" department - Online story: "The number of tourists visiting Mexico soared reached 35 million visitors last year, up 9% from 2015,” MarketWatch noted last month." -- Hmmm,, "visitors"?... any "soaring" is by Mexico allowing caravans of Central/South American illegals free access to get to our border before "the Wall" is built..

---
From the "style and dysfunction" department - Online story: "Democratic lawmakers are seeking to legalize marijuana. * Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer announced on Thursday he is planning to introduce a bill to remove marijuana from the list of federally controlled substances." -- You know..if the DIMocrats really wanted to legalize marijuana, they could have done that in 2009-10 without a single Republican vote. All this to-do now is trying to get control of the dwindling DIMocrat base by soliciting campaign funds from the marijuana interests.

---
Hmmm ... why hasn't the L-E followed up on the charges of Jehmu Greene that Calvin Smyre sexually assaulted her in an elevator at the 1996 DIMocratic National Convention.. Calvin Smyre deserves full exoneration if the charges are false. This should not be hanging over his head...

---
From the "coincidence... or not" department - In a list of the fasting growing ... and shrinking... states, there appears to be a growing pattern.. in the the fastest growing category. Utah is number one followed by Nevada, Idaho, Florida, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, and Arizona... except for Florida, the other 7 states are also the closest ones to California, yet California is not one of the fastest 8 "shrinking" states. Looks to me that the flood of illegal aliens prior to Trump is showing us ominous facts...

---
From the "you gotta be kidding" department - Online headline: "Stormy Daniels considering suing President Trump for defamation" -- Good grief.. on what basis... that Trump "soiled" her unblemished character and reputation as a porn star?

---
No extra comments from me are necessary as this story speaks for itself Wish I could have found time to get there for the festivities myself... but family comes first, and my grandson was being "dedicated" at his parents church on Sunday:

Enjoy the rebirth of minor league baseball, and tomorrows legends:

GEN-X, Millennials. names of generations...but the best one I've seen that fits today's is "screenagers"... when have you seen one not focused on their cellphone/i-pad screens?

---
Washington, DC... that bastion "swamp" where our government flounders.. well, the latest news out of there is that the "swamp" dwellers want to allow 16 year-olds vote.. primarily on the basis that 16 year-olds can get a driver's license.. Oh, that's really worked out well for us... unless you are a parent and have to insure them. Of course, the number of 16-year-olds actually getting their licenses at 16 is dwindling, as more states require parents pay for a "driving school" to get a license at 16, and it also requires 16 year-olds to have proof their parents actually carry auto insurance. To boot.. it wouldn't change one thing about voting results in Washington, DC since 93% of past presidential votes went for Obama and Hellary, and adding 100% of the mind-numbed 16 year-olds to the total won't make any difference in the Electoral College Votes. Just more DIMocrat "style and dysfunction"

---
I just have one question of Robert Mueller...Why haven't you subpoenaed Obama and Hellary for under-oath questioning?

---
You know, with the recent reveals about North Korea announcing that it would end nuclear testing/development, and is receptive to a Kim Jong Ooops/Trump meeting, how can any member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee vote against Mike Pompeo becoming the new Secretary of State... especially if they are running for re-election in 2018 or 2020?

---
You know, watching Starbucks "squirm" is poetic justice..the major shareholder, so enthralled in political correctness, basically said he didn't want any Trump supporters to even come in... now he's angered the all-to-taken-for-granted black vote as well.. believe it's time.. if you own any.. to unload your Starbucks stock. As expected.. Leonard "the" Pitts cannot accept "politically Correct Liberalism" is the cause of the divided nation.

---
From the "style and dysfunction" department - L-E headline: "Comey memos reveal new details about Trump" -- Hmmm.. let's parse this... what Comey's notes really reveal is that he's a liar... he lied about there being no notes/files on the Clinton/Lynch runway meeting as the files were found hidden in another case's files, he's obviously lied about "memos, notes/recordings" of interviews not being a part of the FBLie investigative routine when he has them for some, but not Hellary interviews, and he-is book "contradicts his earlier statements about the Russian investigation.

---
From the "Through the Looking Glass" department - Online story: 'In the forthcoming book "Chasing Hillary: Ten Years, Two Presidential Campaigns, and One Intact Glass Ceiling" by Times reporter Amy Chozick, she wrote that Clinton started spreading a rumor that, in order to help get Trump elected, The Times decided it was going to hit Clinton's wife and 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton hard for her use of a private email server. * According to Chozick's book, Clinton said the deal between Trump and The Times was based upon Trump's ability to drive traffic and bolster The Times's stock price. The book also claimed the relationship between The Times and the Clinton campaign was "somewhat acrimonious." -- Looks like "the Game Plan" has changed... instead of the failed "The Russians are Coming, The Russians are Coming" theme, the liberals are going to switch to, "The (NEW YORK) Times, they are a changing".

---
A Starbucks in Philadelphia has two customers arrested for wanting to use a restroom but hadn't ordered any coffee, and two sheriff's deputies were shot while eating lunch in a Chinese restaurant in Trenton, FL... and liberals are more upset at the Starbuck's. Hellary didn't lose because of women, Hellary lost because liberals feel their concerns are what America SHOULD be concerned about.

---
From the "out of the deep depths of the PITTS" department - L-E "Guess" commentary - Headline/content: "Racism is a white problem * I know that many white people will instinctively and emphatically resist that observation. They’ll note the self-evident truth that prejudice is confined to no one culture or color. Having known more than a few African-American bigots, homophobes and anti-Semites, I’ll be happy to concede the point. * But racism is more than prejudice. It is, rather, the system by which prejudice is encoded into the laws and customs of a society so that, to take an example not quite at random, two black men can be arrested for waiting quietly on a prospective business associate to arrive for a meeting at Starbucks." -- Hmmm... Leonard "the" Pitts is so prejudicially sanctimonious, he'll never become fair to even black issues..Hey, "Pitts".. how many black focused organizations do you belong to or make donations to? Hey, Pitts, how many black politically conservative business people have you interviewed? Hey, Pitts, you have become so entrenched in your own pity party, you will never see Martin Luther King's dream come true when it does.. your character... actually.. lack of such.. will always make you see black and white as "colors".. For me, they are descriptive terms to describe people I respect.. Dr, Ben Carson is an achiever who is black.. Leonard Pitts is simply black.. black-hearted..
No, Pitts, "racism is not a white problem"... racism is your life.

You know, if the core of the Republican Party did its job in crafting the Omnibus (continuing resolution) according to what had been promised to the American voters, they wouldn't be fearful of the November Elections. I do believe the Republicans really thought that Trump wouldn't sign it, and they could say " we tried..". Trump saw that the military..and America's safety, were well funded, and signed it to make sure our military and safety were properly funded..Trump 2020!!!!

---
You know..if a department head I appointed told me that if I got rid of another employee, that he'd resign, I would fire him whether I fired the other employee or not.

---
Hmmm... did you see the liberal outroar for the FB post showing a Dad and his gun between his daughter and her Prom date... liberals are livid...Go Dads! nMake sure your daughters know you are there for them and young men know as well.

Never used a gun to do so, but I did use my antique Porsche cabriolet for the same reason... I'd take them to the garage and ask if they would like to take it out on their date with one of my daughters... Then I would say I knew they'd be very careful.. respectful of the opportunity.. and I know they would bring it back without any scratches or dents.. then I'd look'em in the eye and tell them my daughter was a lot more valuable .. more dear.. to me. Believe me, it sunk in fast.

---
Now that Rodney Mahone is leaving Columbus, and he announced that Together 2017 has officially disbanded, I guess there's no doubt that the "Exercise Park" donated by the group is not going to be around to maintain their "donation" this will become another maintenance "albatross" the taxpayers will have to bear..

About 3 dozen "Neo-Nazi's" held a "protest" in Newnan, GA Saturday.. more media and "antifa" showed up than "neo-nazis".. 1o people were arrested.. all of them were "antifa". You know, it took nearly 2 decades or the Columbus, GA media to ignore the annual "School of the Americas" protest led by defrocked-Rev Roy Bourgeois at the gates of Ft Benning.. it's sad when a protest is "news" only because media presence "makes" it news.. it's sadder still when an opposing protest cause all the "news" for mainscream media to report about..shame on the "neo-nazi group.. but SHAME on the media and "antifa" for making it "news". As usual.. local taxpayers got soaked with the expense of "security" Local governments should have a "security costs" menu whenever any group applies for a permit to hold a public protest.. and collect it up front..

Related question: has anyone been to an "antifa" organized event where "antifa" speakers show up to tell the world why their opinion... their cause.. is just... and promotes a better America? I didn't think so..

Writer's note: Went to see whether or not the Southern Poverty Law Center considers the "antifa" a "hate group" as well.. Gomer Pyle would be muted from saying, "surprise, surprise, surprise". That's right the SPLC does not consider the "antifa" a "hate group" even though we've never seen an "antifa" gathering that preached peace or brotherhood.. in fact, we've never seen an "antifa" gathering that members did not have a big sampling of its protesters wearing hoods. masks and carrying weapons.. I'm confused at what the SPLC doesn't consider "hate group" mentality.

The three most asked questions during the UGA G-Day game.. Jake Who? Did Smart give Eason a roundtrip ticket out of Athens? and.. Where's Prather Hudson been hiding.. bet Prather's Dad.. Edward.. has his Saturday shirt at the dry cleaner getting the buttons sewn back on. (Hmmm.. hope no judge throws an "excessive celebration" penalty at Edward in court this week)

L-E headline/story: "Traffic woes moving deeper into Historic District’s Eighth Street * There are no tracks on Eighth Street and no traffic lights until you reach Veterans Parkway." -- Good grief...Does the City feel the public would not notice the lack of stoplights and signs on 8th Street.. Of course traffic is gravitating to 8th Street versus the "clog" Council has created on 9th and 10th Sts. Hey.. how about building tunnels (with roundabouts) under 8th Street!

---
Did you see the ad the Columbus L-E ran in its own Monday edition under an alias name.. Two ads with contact "Local Media Company" are trying to unload old digital camera equipment . "Local Media Company"? Well. I do guess that "local folks" pretty much determined that the L-E died as a "newspaper" years ago so no one would recognize an ad that said the Ledger-Enquirer is a "local media company"... Now it looks like the L-E is selling off the tools of its staff.. can Chuck's and Dusty's "lightly used computers" be the next items to be sold off?

Oh! And as to buying old digital camera equipment..CAVEAT EMPTOR! Camera companies generally set a "life expectancy" based on the number of shutter clicks, and I know some of my "retired" ones cannot even get repair service from the companies..

Online headline: "Former FBI director James Comey's memos have been released to Congress" -- Hmmm... does anybody else find it suspect that Comey made/kept "notes/memos" of conversations with/about Trump, but didn't when interviewing Hellary... or that he said he didn't have any concerning the Slick Willie/Lynch meeting.... until such were found "misplaced" in another case's files?

From the "and these people make money being "experts"?" department - Online story: "While much of the public's focus has been on the content of Trump's tweets, there's one cosmetic aspect that has grabbed the attention of linguists and writers: his unconventional capitalization of words." -- Good grief...TWEETS are limited in the number of CHARACTERS one can use, so MOST people use ALL CAPS for words to show EMPHASIS! DOH!

Quick... is the property tax rate highest in GA or CA? You're probably wrong... Actually GA's is higher...

36. California
> Effective property tax rate: 0.7%
> Median home value: $477,500 (2nd highest)
> Per capita property tax collections: $1,385 (22nd highest)
> Median household income: $67,739 (9th highest)

26. Georgia
> Effective property tax rate: 0.9%
> Median home value: $166,800 (20th lowest)
> Per capita property tax collections: $1,087 (20th lowest)
> Median household income: $53,559 (21st lowest)

And for us who live in Columbus, GA.. we are high for GA!
Thank God for Tollie Strode, Charmaine Crabb and Mary Sue Polleys (et al) for leading the landslide victory over Mayor Tom-LYING-son's (and Council and MCSB) efforts to raise ours more!

Think about this.. Comey is calling McCabe a liar... McCabe is calling Comey a liar.. those may be the only truths they've spewed in the last 2 years.

---
I tell you what, James Comey... Robert Mueller, too.. need to be interviewed ..under oath... by the FBI, under Sessions' command, in front of the Congressional House and/or Senate Investigatory Committees.

Where's the Facade/Sign Gestapo downtown. I remember a few years ago when my bride and I started "My Party Place ", and I placed a custom-made vinyl sticker on the outside of one of our windows on Broadway, and within hours, a member of the Facade Board came in an ordered us to take it down...it was an unapproved sign. Yesterday. I was on Broadway, and at the corner of Broadway and 13th St, and a downtown restaurant (River and Rail) had stuck one of those political type signs in the Broadway median advertising it's location.

What is with "modern" retailers? Have tried my damnedest this week to locate some synthetic pine straw ( my local source..Durty Wurks..shut down), and there's not a retail nursery withing 75 miles that sells it.. I've been using it for years.. it's pricey per bale new, but you don't replace it every 3-to-6 months..and it does not attract insects next to your home.. Anybody know of a place I haven't tried ..locally.. that sells it?

What is it that elected members of Congress don't understand about the "separation of powers" in our Constitution. We must question the mental health of any..every.. Congressperson who wants to sponsor/support a bill that the President can/can't fire employees he appoints or hires or answer to him.

---
You know, the way Washington establishment is handling the impressive candidate for the new Secretary of State nominee (Mike Pompeo) just confirms Trump's claims that we need to "drain the swamp ".

---
A police officer in Texas barely escaped death as he approached an accident scene where a SUV crashed into a home and severed a gas main which caused an explosion . Seems like a "normal" event ...but there's more..the driver was an illegal alien who had no license..in fact, he'd been arrested before for unlicensed driving. Why isn't Sen Feinstein demanding a new law to ban unlicensed people from driving...better yet, a new law to arrest anybody or company who allows anyone to buy or drive their vehicle without showing a valid driver's license.

---
Once again, my observation that grandchildren make it easy to forgive our children was justified yesterday AM.. About 7:15, our granddaughter (and her mom) showed up at the house with breakfast foods...and a hand-drawn "Happy Birthday" card.. for her "CC".

I read that someone won a $1,000,000.00 lottery scratchoff prize in KY... The single ticket cost $25.00... excuse me, but when is buying a scratch-off ticket for $25.00 an impromptu point-of-sale purchase by a responsible family man? Maybe we need a law restricting all lottery tickets..whether they are scratch-off or not, to be $1.00.

Have you noticed how quickly Mainstream media promotes the words of liberal politicians who say they want to create jobs, yet mainstream media seems to intentionally avoid reporting that Trump is actually doing that now...in fact, it's over 3,000,000.00 new jobs that have been created already by Trump's tax cuts impact on industry morale.

From the "wanna see the results of reverse donations": department - Online story: "The state’s most prominent gay rights advocacy group endorsed Stacey Abrams, the latest left-leaning organization to support the Democrat’s campaign for governor ahead of May 22 primary." -- You know.. why would any liberal organization endorse one DIMocrat over another in the DIMocrat Primary.. we all know the same liberal organization will not endorse/support the Republican candidate in the General Election in November.. no, what's happening is one DIMocrat candidate has bribed one segment of the DIMocrat base either with an undisclosed promise (and we know it won't be kept) or has made a donation to "the cause" in exchange for the "endorsement"..

Online headline/story: "260 low-income communities in Georgia designated as federal opportunity zones * Two hundred sixty low-income communities in Georgia have been designed as federal opportunity zones. * Qualified Opportunity Zones retain this designation for 10 years. Investors can defer tax on any prior gains until no later than Dec. 31, 2026, as long as the gains are reinvested in a Qualified Opportunity Fund, a vehicle for investment in Qualified Opportunity Zones. In addition, if an investor holds the investment in the Opportunity Fund for at least 10 years, the investor would be eligible for an increase in its basis equal to the fair market value of the investment on the date that it is sold. * The state of Georgia also has designated opportunity zones, in which businesses inside the zones receive an income tax credit of $3,500 for each new job they create, as long as they create at least two net jobs. The credits are good for up to five years, or $17,500, provided the business continues to hire at least two new people each year" -- Hmmm.. while the story does not mention Columbus (guess the Mayor doesn't want the embarrassment as she mounts a statewide campaign to run for office on her economic skills/leadership.. yeah.. right..) What's really hidden though is the benefit that real estate brokers/investors will get from their inside knowledge of planned developments.. one further reason we do not need real estate brokers on Council or the MCSB.. ... nor should they be allowed to run for a taxing authorized government board... hey wait a minute.. I thought there were already laws prohibiting T.A.D. related developers from doing this.. let's parse ALL the existing Council/MCSD candidates and representatives, in or seeking such seats.

Below is an interactive map of the "qualifying" zones.. it's strange that the teeming downtown area of Columbus would qualify for "special treatment" for already prosperous developers and landlords.

From the "I guess if you are so use to lying about what you will do for voters, everything you say becomes a lie" department - Online headline: "Keith Ellison: 'Women are dying because we are losing elections'" -- Can DIMocrats be trusted about any "facts"? Hmmm.. on the other hand, fewer babies will die because DIMocrats are losing elections...

Online headline/story: "MS-13 directs members to 'take out a cop' in NY * Police in Hempstead, New York — one of the Long Island towns where the violent gang has a stronghold — were tipped off to the threat Wednesday by a “credible” informant, the NYPD memo said. * The member of the Salvadoran gang told the informant they needed to make a “statement” and specifically wanted to kill a cop in the Hempstead area. * “The police have been making too many arrests and it’s time to take the streets back and take out (shoot) a cop like we do in El Salvador,” the suspect said, according to the informant." -- Good grief.. in the last week, I posted a story about the worst 25 countries for crime, and El Salvadore was in the Top 2.. and that the worst 7 all are located South of our border with Mexico (#4) which is allowing the reprobates to pass through Mexico to illegally cross into the US ...and that this alone was why voters need to unseat any Congressperson against building "the Wall".

---
From the "Adventures in Wonderland" department - L-E headline/story: "More Columbus police cars expected at MCSD schools * The purpose is to connect the MCSD and CCG wireless networks. That will allow MCSD students and staff to use their network on their computer devices at all CCG buildings and vice versa. * The most visible benefit from this relationship probably will be Columbus police officers being able to file their reports from any MCSD location – and the presence of their cars would give those school or administrative buildings a free upgrade in security during that time. * Chairwoman Kia Chambers, the nine-member board’s lone countywide representative, asked Pleasant whether MCSD is sure this new connectivity wouldn’t compromise the security of the district’s electronic data, especially concerning students. * Firewalls will be on both sides sharing the wireless traffic, Pleasant said, and the entities wouldn’t have access to each other’s information. “It simply would route their wireless traffic through our network and over to their network and vice versa,” he said." --

"It simply would route their wireless traffic through our network and over to their network and vice versa"?

Good grief.. now every student with a penchant for mischief and hacking will have access to public records...just think of how many more people in the City and the School system will have access to passwords to access each WiFi system

No matter what.. it is Zeph Baker's job to qualm voters' concerns that he is not only qualified as a resident, but qualified to be their mayor... On the other hand.. it should be the job of the Board of Elections to explore all the candidates running in local races to be a part of a taxing authorized entity (Mayor/Council and MCSB) and make sure their business interests are not in violation of candidacy requirements. I see several that are being paid by tax dollars, or are in real estate situations that they, or their employers/partners can benefit from them voting certain ways.. and, while not "illegal", we have one sitting incumbent on the MCSB and one MCSB challenger running in the upcoming election that work for schools systems in another county or state.. sorry, but I do not think they are qualified to sit on our School Board and tackling MCSD problems and issues.

From the "another jury fail" department - L-E story: "Nineteen-year-old Lernard “Baby” Bonner could be in his 40s when he’s finally done serving time for fatally shooting sometimes girlfriend Lakeisha Moses in the face at Columbus’ Wilson Homes apartments. * life in prison with the possibility of parole Thursday, and that typically means a defendant serves 30 years before he’s eligible for release. * A jury Friday convicted Bonner of involuntary manslaughter " -- Good grief... and now his victim's family will relive their grief daily knowing the killer eventually will out and in-their-faces in the latter years of their lives. How does a jury not understand that the gun did not act on it's own... that someone consciously aimed and pulled the trigger.

---
From the "what's the difference" department - L-E headline/story: "Suspended Columbus attorney now faces 18 felony theft charges * George W. “Bill” Snipes has been under police investigation since January, Columbus police Maj. J.D. Hawk said Thursday. On Monday, 18 warrants were issued for Snipes’ arrest. Police have not been able to locate him, Hawk said. * Last month, the State Bar of Georgia requested that Snipes be suspended immediately because he could “pose a substantial danger to clients as well as to other members of the public.” The bar is requesting that Snipes be disbarred." -- You know, we had another attorney who blamed his wife for discrepancies in his "escrow accounts" on his then wife, and he's still practicing.. I don't see the same standards being applied.

---
From the "and death continues to walk among us" department - L-E headline/story: "No criminal charges to be filed in Prince’s 2016 opioid death * Two years after the sudden death of Prince by accidental fentanyl overdose, one of the lingering mysteries surrounding the enigmatic musician concerned how and where he obtained the powerful synthetic opioid that killed him and whether anyone would be held responsible. * The Carver County attorney, Mark Metz, said during a news conference that Prince died after unknowingly taking counterfeit Vicodin that contained fentanyl, but that there was “no reliable evidence of how Prince obtained” the fatal drug." -- "Prince died after unknowingly taking counterfeit Vicodin that contained fentanyl"? Good grief.. does anyone actually think.. even "feel" that Prince knew what he was taking.. simply because he bankrolled all the people around him to get such illegal/counterfeit opioids. and that "his people" knew what they were acquiring?

Amazing... California liberals who adamantly protest "fracking" are gungho on a 2.7 mile tunnel to be dug under earthquake prone Los Angeles by Elon Musk to whisk riders from Point A to Point B...

There was a time I went to most movies starring Tom Hanks or Meryl Streep..now they are in one together, I no longer have interests in anything they do separately and certainly not together...I no longer trust hem to be entertaining after their anti-American political activism

I tell you what, any politician or mainstream media wonk who complains that Trump didn't get their personal permission for Mike Pompeo to go meet with Kim Jong Oooops to smooth out conditions for an effective summit meeting need to be removed from government and/or media work.
---
Looking at the donations being poured into City and School Board elections, it's rather obvious that the same folks who tried to take away our property Tax Freeze protection are supporting a group of candidates that supported their positions... Take time to study ...at least take a quick look at the donation forms available on the City Website.
---
Hey, Mark Cantrell... up front.. my vote is yours... to lose.. but I think you need to step up and give us your insight as to what a metal-slab building should cost.. If I asked you to bid on a 40'X60' metal building on my property, with basic electricity, HVAC, overhead lighting and a couple of restrooms, how much would you "bid"?
---
Since we've already had one candidate for local office withdraw due to conflict with his wanting to be involved with T.A.D. developments, how does Kia Chambers get around the same conditions that forbid being a government official and also in position to profit from T.A.D. developments.. She's a broker/qualified broker in 3 real estate companies, and a "principle" in another and she lists herself as an owner in all 4.
---
Speaking of anomalies.. Current MCSB member and running for re-election is Naomi Buckner.. she lists her occupation as a teacher... in the CHATTAHOCHEE COUNTY school system.. how does she separate the needs of the students she teaches versus the students in Muscogee County?
---
It might be interesting to learn how much of the $165,000.00 open contract for repairing MCSD bus AC's has been paid to Bart Steed so far.. thought it was interesting Bart Steed has "loaned" himself $5,000.00 to campaign on for MCSB Post 2. How much is left, Bart?
---
We look at California Congress folks like Maxine Waters and Nancy Pelosi an wonder how they get re-elected...then people like Randa Jarrar step forward and remind us that Waters and Pelosi are just average California based government employees. Jarrar is a tenured professor at Fresno State, and just released her liberal vitriol about the recently passed Barbara Bush.. we gotta build 'the Wall' so it includes blocking free access for people ... and their "thoughts" ..out of California into the rest of America.
---
For the first time since I became a teenager, Cuba has a "president" who is not a Castro.. of course the new election consists of only a single, hand-picked candidate of the regime's choice.. a Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez... I guess Obama or Hellary were't available.

Online headline: "Comey urges his successor in FBI to ‘stay the course’" -- Hmmm... "to stay THE COURSE"? Of course, Comey didn't say "stay the COURSE I was on"...
---
From the "liberalism run amok" department - Online story: "New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday that he was granting conditional pardons to every parolee in the state — 35,000 — to restore their voting rights." -- Good grief.. on what condition.. that they vote for him only? Looks like Cynthia Nixon should immediately file "bribery charges" with the NY Election Commission...
---
While we wish Rodney Mahone every success as he leaves the Columbus L-E for Charlotte, NC and heading up a 5-newspaper package.. we do have to wonder if McClatchy has been watching as the L-E drifted into obscurity? I mean.. it closed/sold it's landmark building here, and sent Columbus jobs to Montgomery and Macon. Hmmm... maybe he'll take Chuck and Dusty with him... sorta a "demolition team".
---
You know.. there was a shooting at an illegally operating "club" on Andrews Road recently, and it wasn't until after someone was killed that the City noted that the business was unlicensed to operate.. Excuse me, but aren't businesses required to post their licenses in view so the public... and police officers and city officials can see them.. why was this "business" allowed to operate illegally.. why was this business allowed to purchase alcohol for resale? Answers should be forthcoming... soon..

From the "tiptoe 'round the two-lips" department - Online headline/story: "Former FBI agent pleads guilty to leaking secrets to reporter -Justice Dept * Terry Albury, 39, a former special agent in the FBI's Minneapolis field office, could face up to 10 years in prison for each of the two counts against him, the Justice Department said in a statement. * A source familiar with the case has told Reuters that the online news organization The Intercept was the recipient of the information Albury was charged with leaking. * The Intercept reported the initial charges against Albury and published a statement from its editor-in-chief, Betsy Reed, saying the news outlet did not discuss anonymous sources." . -- Hmmm... now didn't Comey ADMIT he intentionally "leaked" obviously classified information.. oh.. and when was "The Intercept" editor's office and home "raided" to find potential evidence on the "anonymous source"?

---
From the "will somebody please deflate mainscream media's ego" department - Online headline/story: "Trump's intelligence chief had secret meeting with North Korean leader: US official * U.S. Secretary of State nominee and CIA Director Mike Pompeo made a secret visit to North Korea over the Easter weekend and met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, a senior U.S. official said on Tuesday. * Pompeo's conversations fueled President Donald Trump’s belief that productive negotiations were possible with North Korea, but far from guaranteed" -- Good grief.. mainscream media must feel it's entitled to advance info (and the urinal next to) on when President Trump wants to go to the bathroom! I guess this is because mainscream media got lazy by Obama announcing either that he was going to do something before he did it, or Obama didn't know what had been done about something until he read about it in a newspaper.

By the way, when Pompeo went to talk with Km Jong Ooooops, Pompeo was the head of the CIA.. and this was his job!

From the "As much as I hate to give Stormy What's-her-face. mention.. This is necessary" department - Online headline/story: "Is there a hidden meaning behind Stormy Daniels's key necklace? * she wore a distinct piece of jewelry: a silver necklace with a pendant shaped like a skeleton key." -- "a skeleton key"? More appropriate would be a "much notched bedpost"...

Do mainscream media.. and DIMocrats feel that elevating a porn-star's visibility will give her sainthood and negate the 6th Commandment?

---
From the "you gotta be kidding me" department - Online headline: "Kendrick Lamar wins Pulitzer Prize for ‘Damn’" -- Good grief.. There was a time that the FCC would shut down/fine radio stations who used "the 7 words" George Carlin defined his onstage identity with, but Carlin "didn't win no writin' awards", yet now those words are mainstream entertainment? Hey, Columbus L-E.. how about printing the lyrics from some of his "Damn" album on the front page...NOT! some of our schools still use the L-E in some classroom courses.

---
From the "how egotistically mad" department - Online headline: "McConnell: I won't put legislation to protect Mueller on Senate floor" -- Good grief.. Mueller is an employment issue for the President.. not a legislative issue for Congress!

---
From the "bias? .. what bias?" department - Online story: "Justice Neil Gorsuch provided the decisive vote Tuesday in a Supreme Court ruling striking down a key provision that made it easier to deport immigrants convicted of violent crimes, in a blow to the Trump administration. " -- Just proves that Trump made a great choice for his first appointment to the US Supreme Court.. unlike ANY of Obama's/Clinton's picks.. or Chief Justice Roberts, for that matter, Gorsuch did not let "politics" rule his decision...Gorsuch's vote was not a "blow for Trump", it was the right thing to do for America... very unlike Kagan or Sotomayor decisions or Robert's decision that the "fine" for not buying OObamaCRAP was a tax.

What is it with Wendy's...stopped by yesterday, and Wendy's went up from $4.69 to $5.09 on Dave's Juicy Double Cheeseburger just as they are getting a 40% cut in the their corporate tax rate.

---
From the "remembering the past, but not hanging on to it" department - You know, if you are locked in hate-wise to standards/wrongs of 150/200 years ago, you will not be able to recognize and accept progress today or in future, and will not be part of the solutions nor progress.

---
From the " bad choice of words" department - Cancer Center Treatment Centers of America usually has slick ads, but I think one they are running has missed the mark...after the video portion, it give the website address.. www.cancercenter.com/breast .. Written out, It seems innocuous, but when the announcer reads its " www dot cancer center dot com slash breast ", it seems bluntly insensitive .

Online story: "Georgia’s deadliest stretch of road is on I-20 in Atlanta, according to a recent study. * Five deaths occurred on the .98 mile freeway section northwest of Summerhill during the study’s timeframe, the analysis conducted by personal injury law firm Butler Wooten & Peak and data visualization firm 1Point21 Interactive found.  * Data was used from the federal Fatality Analysis Reporting System from 2013, 2014 and 2015, in addition to U.S. Census numbers. The study only includes stretches where at least five fatal crashes occurred within 2½ miles of each other." -- Hmm .. obviously, J.R.Allen Parkway must not have been considered as it's not an Interstate highway, but no stretch of Interstate highway in Georgia has as dangerous of egress/ingress ramps as the J.R. Allen Parkway.

---
From the "such irony" department - Online headline: "Planned Parenthood endorses Abrams, making waves in Democratic race " -- Hmmm.. sorta strange that Planned Parenthood endorses women who's mothers elected to give birth rather than abort their fetuses.

---
From the "sanctuary city status strikes home" department - Online headline: "Clarke County (GA) sheriff says he won’t detain ICE targets without warrant" -- well.. wanna take bets whether he will release criminals on UGA football weekends?

---
From the "can we swap" department - L=E headline/story: "ST. PATRICK’S CATHOLIC SCHOOL * Phenix City Board of Education votes to buy vacant school * During a called meeting Monday night, the seven-member board unanimously approved superintendent Randy Wilkes’ recommendation to purchase the vacant St. Patrick’s Catholic School from the Archdiocese of Mobile for $1.75 million. * The 16-acre property has two buildings comprising 16,000 square feet each at the intersection of 40th Street and Lakewood Drive. " -- "$1.75 Million for 32,000.00 square feet and 16 acres of land.. good grief.. for $1.75 MILLION. our school system would only get 5,600 square feet of metal-on-slab wrestling buildings on land we already own.

---
L-E headline/story: "COLUMBUS MAYORAL ELECTION * Harris appeals residency decision * Columbus mayoral candidate Beth Harris has appealed the local elections board’s decision to let rival Zeph Baker stay in the race despite her challenging his residency." -- For the record. I had a long face-to-face conversation with Zeph Baker last Friday.. at his request.. to talk about this and his commitment to Columbus for the next 4-to-8 years.. there were a couple of clerical issues on the property database that I asked him to "clear up" which he has done.. I believe he is a resident of Columbus, and more than qualified to be our mayor if that is the voters decision.. I supported Zeph Baker in 2010 in his first mayoral campaign, and he has my ear this time.. so far.. to do so again.. but am doing my research before making an all-in commitment..

---
From the "Trump looks smarter every day" department - L-E headline: "IRS e-filing system crashes on tax day" -- Hmmm... makes Trump's promise to simplify filings to a "post card" look very attractive for the future.. obviously, what Obama left us running the IRS is no better than the mess he left us in the DOJ/FBI.

---
L-E story: "Starbucks, trying to tamp down a racially charged uproar over the arrest of two black men at one of its stores in Philadelphia, plans to close more than 8,000 U.S. stores for several hours next month" -- Hmmm... I guess the big question locally here in Columbus, GA will be where Councilor Glenn Davis will set up his daily "office" that/those days....

---
L-E guest commentary headline/content: "Comey’s book shows that he never should have been FBI director in the first place * BY ED ROGERS * The Washington Post * by his own admissions, he is a timid leader who lacks poise when he needs it most. Comey’s own retelling of his encounters with President Donald Trump suggests that he was intimidated by the president." -- First.. let me get over the shock of seeing a WaPo editorial piece not defending a "Trump-trasher".. You know.. being intimidated, as Rogers described his opinion of Comey.. is more an end product of " The Peter Principle".. being promoted beyond your abilities and fearful of the world finding out... like we have with Comey.
