From the "tiptoe 'round the two-lips" department - Online headline/story: "Former FBI agent pleads guilty to leaking secrets to reporter -Justice Dept * Terry Albury, 39, a former special agent in the FBI's Minneapolis field office, could face up to 10 years in prison for each of the two counts against him, the Justice Department said in a statement. * A source familiar with the case has told Reuters that the online news organization The Intercept was the recipient of the information Albury was charged with leaking. * The Intercept reported the initial charges against Albury and published a statement from its editor-in-chief, Betsy Reed, saying the news outlet did not discuss anonymous sources." . -- Hmmm... now didn't Comey ADMIT he intentionally "leaked" obviously classified information.. oh.. and when was "The Intercept" editor's office and home "raided" to find potential evidence on the "anonymous source"?

From the "will somebody please deflate mainscream media's ego" department - Online headline/story: "Trump's intelligence chief had secret meeting with North Korean leader: US official * U.S. Secretary of State nominee and CIA Director Mike Pompeo made a secret visit to North Korea over the Easter weekend and met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, a senior U.S. official said on Tuesday. * Pompeo's conversations fueled President Donald Trump’s belief that productive negotiations were possible with North Korea, but far from guaranteed" -- Good grief.. mainscream media must feel it's entitled to advance info (and the urinal next to) on when President Trump wants to go to the bathroom! I guess this is because mainscream media got lazy by Obama announcing either that he was going to do something before he did it, or Obama didn't know what had been done about something until he read about it in a newspaper.

By the way, when Pompeo went to talk with Km Jong Ooooops, Pompeo was the head of the CIA.. and this was his job!

From the "As much as I hate to give Stormy What's-her-face. mention.. This is necessary" department - Online headline/story: "Is there a hidden meaning behind Stormy Daniels's key necklace? * she wore a distinct piece of jewelry: a silver necklace with a pendant shaped like a skeleton key." -- "a skeleton key"? More appropriate would be a "much notched bedpost"...

Do mainscream media.. and DIMocrats feel that elevating a porn-star's visibility will give her sainthood and negate the 6th Commandment?

From the "you gotta be kidding me" department - Online headline: "Kendrick Lamar wins Pulitzer Prize for ‘Damn’" -- Good grief.. There was a time that the FCC would shut down/fine radio stations who used "the 7 words" George Carlin defined his onstage identity with, but Carlin "didn't win no writin' awards", yet now those words are mainstream entertainment? Hey, Columbus L-E.. how about printing the lyrics from some of his "Damn" album on the front page...NOT! some of our schools still use the L-E in some classroom courses.

From the "how egotistically mad" department - Online headline: "McConnell: I won't put legislation to protect Mueller on Senate floor" -- Good grief.. Mueller is an employment issue for the President.. not a legislative issue for Congress!

---
From the "bias? .. what bias?" department - Online story: "Justice Neil Gorsuch provided the decisive vote Tuesday in a Supreme Court ruling striking down a key provision that made it easier to deport immigrants convicted of violent crimes, in a blow to the Trump administration. " -- Just proves that Trump made a great choice for his first appointment to the US Supreme Court.. unlike ANY of Obama's/Clinton's picks.. or Chief Justice Roberts, for that matter, Gorsuch did not let "politics" rule his decision...Gorsuch's vote was not a "blow for Trump", it was the right thing to do for America... very unlike Kagan or Sotomayor decisions or Robert's decision that the "fine" for not buying OObamaCRAP was a tax.

What is it with Wendy's...stopped by yesterday, and Wendy's went up from $4.69 to $5.09 on Dave's Juicy Double Cheeseburger just as they are getting a 40% cut in the their corporate tax rate.

From the "remembering the past, but not hanging on to it" department - You know, if you are locked in hate-wise to standards/wrongs of 150/200 years ago, you will not be able to recognize and accept progress today or in future, and will not be part of the solutions nor progress.

From the " bad choice of words" department - Cancer Center Treatment Centers of America usually has slick ads, but I think one they are running has missed the mark...after the video portion, it give the website address.. www.cancercenter.com/breast .. Written out, It seems innocuous, but when the announcer reads its " www dot cancer center dot com slash breast ", it seems bluntly insensitive .

Online story: "Georgia’s deadliest stretch of road is on I-20 in Atlanta, according to a recent study. * Five deaths occurred on the .98 mile freeway section northwest of Summerhill during the study’s timeframe, the analysis conducted by personal injury law firm Butler Wooten & Peak and data visualization firm 1Point21 Interactive found.  * Data was used from the federal Fatality Analysis Reporting System from 2013, 2014 and 2015, in addition to U.S. Census numbers. The study only includes stretches where at least five fatal crashes occurred within 2½ miles of each other." -- Hmm .. obviously, J.R.Allen Parkway must not have been considered as it's not an Interstate highway, but no stretch of Interstate highway in Georgia has as dangerous of egress/ingress ramps as the J.R. Allen Parkway.

From the "such irony" department - Online headline: "Planned Parenthood endorses Abrams, making waves in Democratic race " -- Hmmm.. sorta strange that Planned Parenthood endorses women who's mothers elected to give birth rather than abort their fetuses.

---
From the "sanctuary city status strikes home" department - Online headline: "Clarke County (GA) sheriff says he won’t detain ICE targets without warrant" -- well.. wanna take bets whether he will release criminals on UGA football weekends?

From the "can we swap" department - L=E headline/story: "ST. PATRICK’S CATHOLIC SCHOOL * Phenix City Board of Education votes to buy vacant school * During a called meeting Monday night, the seven-member board unanimously approved superintendent Randy Wilkes’ recommendation to purchase the vacant St. Patrick’s Catholic School from the Archdiocese of Mobile for $1.75 million. * The 16-acre property has two buildings comprising 16,000 square feet each at the intersection of 40th Street and Lakewood Drive. " -- "$1.75 Million for 32,000.00 square feet and 16 acres of land.. good grief.. for $1.75 MILLION. our school system would only get 5,600 square feet of metal-on-slab wrestling buildings on land we already own.

L-E headline/story: "COLUMBUS MAYORAL ELECTION * Harris appeals residency decision * Columbus mayoral candidate Beth Harris has appealed the local elections board’s decision to let rival Zeph Baker stay in the race despite her challenging his residency." -- For the record. I had a long face-to-face conversation with Zeph Baker last Friday.. at his request.. to talk about this and his commitment to Columbus for the next 4-to-8 years.. there were a couple of clerical issues on the property database that I asked him to "clear up" which he has done.. I believe he is a resident of Columbus, and more than qualified to be our mayor if that is the voters decision.. I supported Zeph Baker in 2010 in his first mayoral campaign, and he has my ear this time.. so far.. to do so again.. but am doing my research before making an all-in commitment..

From the "Trump looks smarter every day" department - L-E headline: "IRS e-filing system crashes on tax day" -- Hmmm... makes Trump's promise to simplify filings to a "post card" look very attractive for the future.. obviously, what Obama left us running the IRS is no better than the mess he left us in the DOJ/FBI.

---
L-E story: "Starbucks, trying to tamp down a racially charged uproar over the arrest of two black men at one of its stores in Philadelphia, plans to close more than 8,000 U.S. stores for several hours next month" -- Hmmm... I guess the big question locally here in Columbus, GA will be where Councilor Glenn Davis will set up his daily "office" that/those days....

L-E guest commentary headline/content: "Comey’s book shows that he never should have been FBI director in the first place * BY ED ROGERS * The Washington Post * by his own admissions, he is a timid leader who lacks poise when he needs it most. Comey’s own retelling of his encounters with President Donald Trump suggests that he was intimidated by the president." -- First.. let me get over the shock of seeing a WaPo editorial piece not defending a "Trump-trasher".. You know.. being intimidated, as Rogers described his opinion of Comey.. is more an end product of " The Peter Principle".. being promoted beyond your abilities and fearful of the world finding out... like we have with Comey.
