Online headline: "Former FBI director James Comey's memos have been released to Congress" -- Hmmm... does anybody else find it suspect that Comey made/kept "notes/memos" of conversations with/about Trump, but didn't when interviewing Hellary... or that he said he didn't have any concerning the Slick Willie/Lynch meeting.... until such were found "misplaced" in another case's files?

From the "and these people make money being "experts"?" department - Online story: "While much of the public's focus has been on the content of Trump's tweets, there's one cosmetic aspect that has grabbed the attention of linguists and writers: his unconventional capitalization of words." -- Good grief...TWEETS are limited in the number of CHARACTERS one can use, so MOST people use ALL CAPS for words to show EMPHASIS! DOH!

And for us who live in Columbus, GA.. we are high for GA!
Thank God for Tollie Strode, Charmaine Crabb and Mary Sue Polleys (et al) for leading the landslide victory over Mayor Tom-LYING-son's (and Council and MCSB) efforts to raise ours more!

Where's the Facade/Sign Gestapo downtown. I remember a few years ago when my bride and I started "My Party Place ", and I placed a custom-made vinyl sticker on the outside of one of our windows on Broadway, and within hours, a member of the Facade Board came in an ordered us to take it down...it was an unapproved sign. Yesterday. I was on Broadway, and at the corner of Broadway and 13th St, and a downtown restaurant (River and Rail) had stuck one of those political type signs in the Broadway median advertising it's location.

What is with "modern" retailers? Have tried my damnedest this week to locate some synthetic pine straw ( my local source..Durty Wurks..shut down), and there's not a retail nursery withing 75 miles that sells it.. I've been using it for years.. it's pricey per bale new, but you don't replace it every 3-to-6 months..and it does not attract insects next to your home.. Anybody know of a place I haven't tried ..locally.. that sells it?

What is it that elected members of Congress don't understand about the "separation of powers" in our Constitution. We must question the mental health of any..every.. Congressperson who wants to sponsor/support a bill that the President can/can't fire employees he appoints or hires or answer to him.

A police officer in Texas barely escaped death as he approached an accident scene where a SUV crashed into a home and severed a gas main which caused an explosion . Seems like a "normal" event ...but there's more..the driver was an illegal alien who had no license..in fact, he'd been arrested before for unlicensed driving. Why isn't Sen Feinstein demanding a new law to ban unlicensed people from driving...better yet, a new law to arrest anybody or company who allows anyone to buy or drive their vehicle without showing a valid driver's license.

Once again, my observation that grandchildren make it easy to forgive our children was justified yesterday AM.. About 7:15, our granddaughter (and her mom) showed up at the house with breakfast foods...and a hand-drawn "Happy Birthday" card.. for her "CC".

I read that someone won a $1,000,000.00 lottery scratchoff prize in KY... The single ticket cost $25.00... excuse me, but when is buying a scratch-off ticket for $25.00 an impromptu point-of-sale purchase by a responsible family man? Maybe we need a law restricting all lottery tickets..whether they are scratch-off or not, to be $1.00.

Have you noticed how quickly Mainstream media promotes the words of liberal politicians who say they want to create jobs, yet mainstream media seems to intentionally avoid reporting that Trump is actually doing that now...in fact, it's over 3,000,000.00 new jobs that have been created already by Trump's tax cuts impact on industry morale.

From the "wanna see the results of reverse donations": department - Online story: "The state’s most prominent gay rights advocacy group endorsed Stacey Abrams, the latest left-leaning organization to support the Democrat’s campaign for governor ahead of May 22 primary." -- You know.. why would any liberal organization endorse one DIMocrat over another in the DIMocrat Primary.. we all know the same liberal organization will not endorse/support the Republican candidate in the General Election in November.. no, what's happening is one DIMocrat candidate has bribed one segment of the DIMocrat base either with an undisclosed promise (and we know it won't be kept) or has made a donation to "the cause" in exchange for the "endorsement"..

Online headline/story: "260 low-income communities in Georgia designated as federal opportunity zones * Two hundred sixty low-income communities in Georgia have been designed as federal opportunity zones. * Qualified Opportunity Zones retain this designation for 10 years. Investors can defer tax on any prior gains until no later than Dec. 31, 2026, as long as the gains are reinvested in a Qualified Opportunity Fund, a vehicle for investment in Qualified Opportunity Zones. In addition, if an investor holds the investment in the Opportunity Fund for at least 10 years, the investor would be eligible for an increase in its basis equal to the fair market value of the investment on the date that it is sold. * The state of Georgia also has designated opportunity zones, in which businesses inside the zones receive an income tax credit of $3,500 for each new job they create, as long as they create at least two net jobs. The credits are good for up to five years, or $17,500, provided the business continues to hire at least two new people each year" -- Hmmm.. while the story does not mention Columbus (guess the Mayor doesn't want the embarrassment as she mounts a statewide campaign to run for office on her economic skills/leadership.. yeah.. right..) What's really hidden though is the benefit that real estate brokers/investors will get from their inside knowledge of planned developments.. one further reason we do not need real estate brokers on Council or the MCSB.. ... nor should they be allowed to run for a taxing authorized government board... hey wait a minute.. I thought there were already laws prohibiting T.A.D. related developers from doing this.. let's parse ALL the existing Council/MCSD candidates and representatives, in or seeking such seats.

Below is an interactive map of the "qualifying" zones.. it's strange that the teeming downtown area of Columbus would qualify for "special treatment" for already prosperous developers and landlords.

From the "Adventures in Wonderland" department - L-E headline/story: "More Columbus police cars expected at MCSD schools * The purpose is to connect the MCSD and CCG wireless networks. That will allow MCSD students and staff to use their network on their computer devices at all CCG buildings and vice versa. * The most visible benefit from this relationship probably will be Columbus police officers being able to file their reports from any MCSD location – and the presence of their cars would give those school or administrative buildings a free upgrade in security during that time. * Chairwoman Kia Chambers, the nine-member board’s lone countywide representative, asked Pleasant whether MCSD is sure this new connectivity wouldn’t compromise the security of the district’s electronic data, especially concerning students. * Firewalls will be on both sides sharing the wireless traffic, Pleasant said, and the entities wouldn’t have access to each other’s information. “It simply would route their wireless traffic through our network and over to their network and vice versa,” he said." --
"It simply would route their wireless traffic through our network and over to their network and vice versa"?
Good grief.. now every student with a penchant for mischief and hacking will have access to public records...just think of how many more people in the City and the School system will have access to passwords to access each WiFi system

No matter what.. it is Zeph Baker's job to qualm voters' concerns that he is not only qualified as a resident, but qualified to be their mayor... On the other hand.. it should be the job of the Board of Elections to explore all the candidates running in local races to be a part of a taxing authorized entity (Mayor/Council and MCSB) and make sure their business interests are not in violation of candidacy requirements. I see several that are being paid by tax dollars, or are in real estate situations that they, or their employers/partners can benefit from them voting certain ways.. and, while not "illegal", we have one sitting incumbent on the MCSB and one MCSB challenger running in the upcoming election that work for schools systems in another county or state.. sorry, but I do not think they are qualified to sit on our School Board and tackling MCSD problems and issues.

How does a jury not understand that the gun did not act on it's own... that someone consciously aimed and pulled the trigger.
