Online headline: "'A surprise:' One of Earth's fastest-shrinking glaciers is suddenly growing again" -- Hmmm.. Guess hell "froze over" after Mueller's Report knocked the hot air out of the Democrats.

Jussie Smollett... what a Mullet! Yeah.. Juicy Mullet.. has single-handedly undermined all the best efforts of the NAACP, BLM, LGBTQ the Shicago State Attorney's office. Their actions, their lack of actions, their silence, and their defense has made them irrelevant.

Veterans Parkway has one less eyesore today.. Drove by the BP Station at Veterans and 23rd St yesterday and more than 2 dozen signs had been removed from a perimeter fence.. Thanks to Councilor John House more taking action...sorta hoped Councilors Woodson and Thomas had responded.. Thomas is also a Citywide Councilor like House, but Woodson is the District 7 Councilor. Jump in anytime, Ladies.

Just thought of something... has Richard Bishop started work as the Mayor's "chief of staff" yet? Just haven't seen/heard his name since the announcement.. still wonder what the Mayor
needs" a chief of staff when he has a City Manager and two Deputy-City Managers.

From the "hit me with your best shot" department - Online headline: "Sen. Cory Booker: I'm going to 'bring a fight like the NRA has never seen' -- Good grief.. what's he propose.. a pillow fight? The NRA is not our enemy! I wish the Democrats would put out the same energy to remove guns from felons, and gun-using felons from society that they do when assaulting the 2nd Amendment and law-abiding gun owners.

CHS wrestling practice building update: You know, I've had this and the others around town in my sights since they were initially proposed for the 2015 SPLOST.. They were grouped together as 2,400 sq ft Metal-on-slab structures at $750,000.00 each.. That was $312+ a square ft on land already owned. Columbus High was my focus because it really didn't have any natural campus space suitable for construction site (other than the parking lot which the MCSB opted to expand by 60/63 spots for $935,000.00), As I pointed out issues, the MCSD scurried and found a spot.. not ideal by any means, behind the CHS baseball field.. of course this involved permanently reducing the size of the outfield. Then I pointed out the potential catastrophe of a home run baseball hitting the metal building at an inopportune time.. say when the cheerleader were practicing stunts, and the effect a startled pyramid base person or a "dismount catcher" might cause. Then, the MCSD decided to change to concrete block for a "mere" $25,000.00 more.. then I pointed out how much like a prison guard tower it looked as it went up. Obviously the MCSB took note, and the exterior received a brick veneer our covering (I do hope the original slab will sustain the extra weight of adding concrete blocks and brick when a metal wall was the focus. Now, I do applaud the look new shown as something that appears to be complimentary to the main building.. but what I want to know is if this look could be achieved for an extra $25K, how much did the MCSD OVERPAY for the other schools' wrestling buildings made as originally presented?

From the "mouse that roared" department - Online headline/story: "Puerto Rico governor cautions White House: 'If the bully gets close, I'll punch the bully in the mouth'" -- Good grief.. Mueller and the Democrats just pummeled President Trump for the past 2 plus years, and he's the only man standing.. why would a lightweight like Rossello make such an antagonistic.. caustic even.. comment about President Trump.. but it does show how desperate MSM-13 is for a new "Don Quixote" Democrat that they can write about..

Think about.. why would a Governor risk hurting his constituents by attacking the one man who can help them? Just stupidity personified!

Hey James Comey.. wouldn't want to be ya!

---
I'm glad I am not a Democrat spinmeister...thank goodness! How can can they feel good trying to defend Smollett, the Shicago prosecutor, and Ocasio-Cortez, Schumer, PeLOUSY, and Adam Schi** at the same time.

From the "truth will set you free" department - Online headline: "Charles Barkley tells Jussie Smollett there are 'repercussions' to actions: We all 'lost in this scenario'-- Amen, Sir Charles! A slam dunk!

---
From the "well, the Democrats have forgiven the VA Governor" department of desperation - Online headline: "Jussie Smollett's lawyer suggests Osundairo brothers wore white makeup during attack, brushes off FBI probe" -- Injustice personified! Where is the American Bar Association?

---
Online headline: "Eric Holder goes on MAGA attack: 'Exactly when did you think America was great?'" -- Well, Pric Holder...you had opportunity to make things better...but didn't...how about apologizing for this... and all the other issues/scandals you were in.

---
So..Kirsten Gillibrand, Dem Senator from NY, and Dem candidate in the presidential nomination race..released her tax forms yesterday. Guess what, not one one word of praise for the benefit she got from the Trump Tax Reforms.. Hmmm..wonder if she'll donate the extra savings she got to some government social program she supports?

---
Amazing...Democrats are looking for a candidate they feel can take on Trump. That's their problem...Trump is not the issue, lack of programs that work for America' greatness is the issue, and there are no Democrats interested in such.

---
From the "you won't be able to UNSEE this" department - Online headline: "Beto O’Rourke, Pete Buttigieg rise in new 2020 national poll" -- Hmm.. Beto O'Jerk and Buttgig.. what a combination.. they sound like they may share a cow fantasy or two.

---
Online headline/story: "Dem governor's $25,000-a-plate fundraiser has own party calling him out * New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is reportedly facing criticism from at least three fellow Democrats over an exclusive $25,000-a-plate fundraiser held at the swanky St. Regis Hotel in New York City earlier this month." -- Hmmm, now we know what the going cost of Democrat BS is.

---
Online headline/story: "Race 'plays a part' in Democratic 2020 candidate Beto O'Rourke's rising popularity, former Georgia gubernatorial contender Stacey Abrams says * Abrams suggested that she and former Democratic Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum did not receive the same attention as the former Texas congressman, whose popularity skyrocketed after losing his 2018 Senate race. * Both Abrams and Gillum are African American, while O'Rourke is white." -- "says Stacey Abrams"? Well Abrams also says she won the race in GA..Good grief.. but all three do have one thing.. well... two things in common.. they are all Socialist Democrats, and they are all huge spending losers.

That vote in the Senate to enable discussion of the GanGRENE New Deal was very revealing.. Revealing that it's obviously a plan with a title, but no ideas in place. Good grief, you would think the if there was merit in this GanGRENE New Deal. Democrats would relish the opportunity... the opportunity for voters to know what their plan will do for them and how much "free" costs them.

With all the hubbub involving Nike and Avenatti, Columbus is reminded of a Nike scandal in our Parks&Rec Department. Hey. COUNCIL. how much of the $200K has be repaid by Adams?

---
Got another e-mail from Tom Perez, chair of the DNC.. He invited me to the first Dem debate to be held in Miami this June.. You know, if I thought there was even the possibility that I could ask a question of my choice to the Democrats, I might take him him up on it...

M/C L-E headline/story: "Renovations at softball complex on track to be done in time for international summer tournament * Renovations at the South Commons Softball Complex in Columbus are on schedule, with the facility expected to be ready for an international softball tournament scheduled to begin July 1. * the current renovations have played an instrumental role is convincing USA Softball to award the tournament to Columbus. * Sherman said they still need financial support for the project. “The city was a great help in contributing over $3 million for this project and so we appreciate their support very much to get us going, but we still are in need of financial support,” she said. Sherman said they have raised a little more than $1.3 million of their $2.6 million fundraising goal." -- Once again.. Council has fallen for the "pie-in-the-sky". The fact that South Commons "needed" $5.6 MILLION in repairs for a stadium that was built for less than half that amount is an albatross showing lack of routine maintenance is obvious. The fact that the Softball Committee would come only if Columbus agreed to doing this is probably more likely because no other city's softball complex was "up to snuff" either, and none wanted to spend such money on a similar project.. Now .. the most heinous aspect of Council is its commitment of $3,000,000.00 being made available BEFORE the other $2.6 Million has been raised. What happens if the current $1.3 Million isn't raised? Meanwhile, the ever-growing pothole at the intersection of River Road and Mountainbrook is going unresolved.

Oh! and if the project DOES come in on time, maybe Council can send the construction team to the "roundabout" at River Road/BradleyPark/Cascade. After 5 months little more than digging holes and filling them back in has occurred

From the "SMH" department - Online headline/story: "Only black reporters allowed in Georgia mayoral race event * The Wednesday meeting at a church in Savannah was held to try to unite the city's black community behind a single candidate for mayor in the Nov. 5 election. Signs at the door said "Black Press Only!" * White reporters were denied entry, while at least two black reporters and the publisher of a local African-American newspaper were allowed inside, the Savannah Morning News reported. Television cameras and recording devices were also prohibited. * The newspaper said the Rev. Clarence Teddy Williams, who organized the meeting, declined to discuss the entry policy. * Mayor Eddie DeLoach is seeking re-election this fall. He became Savannah's first white mayor in 20 years after winning the 2015 campaign. Elections for Savannah's top office are nonpartisan, meaning all candidates who qualify end up on the November ballot. " -- unbelievable! Black voters concerned over the future of our state should be mortified!

M/C L-E headline/story: "Facebook charged with housing discrimination by HUD * The federal government charged Facebook with high-tech housing discrimination Thursday for allegedly misusing its vaunted ability to deliver ads with surgical precision to certain groups of people and not others." -- You know.. it'll only be fair if the government also bans party/race selective political mailers, and keeping political meetings from banning reporters by race as reported in the Savannah, GA area

There's an article in the M/C L-E concerning movies about basketball.. one in particularly insulted me... and it should insult every one in America..Glory Road. Glory Road! What an injustice to American race relations! The story.. well, the REAL story was amazing, but the director decided he needed to spice things up with adding deplorable scenes of hatred and discrimination that never happened. I remember that year vividly.. No one was more pleased at UTEP beating Rupp's Kentucky team in the NCAA 1996 finals than me.. Took my eldest daughter to see the film in 2006.. wanted her to see first hand about the history of the sport I loved.. I was dumbfounded at some scenes as I'd never heard of them.. and obviously there was good reason I hadn't..they never happened.. I was mortified sitting by my daughter and could hardly talk about things as we left the theater.. Fortunately, I can[me across an article a few years later revealing the incredible abuse of history the director used to gain celebrity status for himself.. God help us that he doesn't get hired to make a movie about Jussie Smollett!
