Yesterday, I mentioned that it was announced that the 2023 GA GOP Convention would be held in Columbus, GA in June.. and that it would be very good for local hotels... I was reminded it would also be good for restaurants as well.. which is also true... but how good will it be for Columbus overall... other than hotel/restaurant owners, I'm just curious as to why a 2023 Republican (or Democrat one for that matter) State Convention will even get Columbus highlighted "on the map" as not only is it an "off election year" state wide, there will be zero local elections/issues/referendums in November..

Hey, GA... as bad as the price of gas is currently, it's gonna be way worse next month... that's when the state's deferred per gallon tax ends...and our gas price jumps back up over 30-cents per gallon.

I stopped by a Wendy's with a "Dave's "hot 'n juicy Double" on my mind.... and drove off after looking at the new Menu! Not long ago, a "Dave's Double" burger was $4.99... and then went up to $5.29... but this weekend, one such burger was $6.99! Somehow, I figured Wendy's got greedy and figured the public would pay anything for a burger so just are trying to see how much it can charge.

Looks like it'll take between $2,000-$3,000 to have a whole house water filter installed to get safer, cleaner FECAL MATTER free water than the Columbus Water Works wants to give us. And to think, the CWW could have provided all of us with safer, cleaner water for about $181.00 per household 6-plus years ago. We do badly need better leadership in our local government.

I think the Supreme Court needs to revisit this ... and add a "a provision" that makes "campaign fund repayment of loans limited to the donated funds collected only between the "declaration of candidacy" and the "actual election date". Allowing a super-wealthy person to "totally fund his own campaign with "loans", then, when elected, go out and solicit "donations" to pay himself back would open up a huge "bribery" situation!
