"assault rifles"?.. Well, I hope the stolen guns were either returned to their owners or the owners were compensated as well. Too bad the DA/police investigators no longer have a chance at finding the stolen guns in possession of the thieves so those cases won't get prosecuted.. secondly, were there really "assault rifles"? If they were actually automatic capable guns, great.. but they were probably just semi-automatic and reporting was just wrong.

One officer eventually shot the suspect. * Chief Freddie Blackmon has requested the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to investigate the shooting. The Columbus Police Department’s Office of Professional Standards also will conduct an administrative investigation. * The officer involved will be placed on administrative leave during the investigation." -- Good grief! The police officer "involved" is a hero but being treated as a "zero".. This officer probably stopped another Columbus citizen or police officer from being shot.. and/or killed!

I hope every Columbus, GA Councilor rode down Veterans Parkway "to work" today and saw the utter lack of respect Council paid to our veterans current and past over the weekend.... I also wish I didn't have to point this out to them...
