It was a Border Patrol Agent assigned to the office in Uvalde that shot and killed Salvador Ramos at that elementary school.. Praise God Resident Biden nor Merrick Garland had ordered the Uvalde agents to the nearby Southern Border for baby sitting service!

Now the Democrats are upset that the Uvalde Texas killer was in the school for a hour before police went in.. well... What did the Democrats expect....they've basically turned law enforcement officers into "Barney Fife's", and it probably took them a hour to get a Democrat politician to authorize unbuttoning their pockets and getting a bullet to load into their guns.

Online headline: "Texas school shooting: Elon Musk asks why media gives mass murderers the attention they desire" -- Amen! But let's not forget, MSM Journalist and Leftist Politicians love these sick opportunities to promote their careers and agenda.

Yeah! The new VA Clinic on River Road sign now announces it's the Robert Poydasheff Facility... Now, if it would actually be opened and serve our veterans!

Obviously, when those NEW trash cans were "chosen", Columbus, GA City officials must have been inside some area/building not affected by weather. After ours was delivered Tuesday, I put it under the eaves of our home, and then much needed rains came Wednesday, and a goodly amount of water was captured by the concave design of the top.. I opened the can yesterday to put a bag of trash in it, and a lot of the water flowed into the can itself (the top's hinge design directed much of the water inside). Do I have to spell out what water, trash, and sweltering summer heat will cause those cans to smell like when they sit there a week between pick-ups? And do I have to spell out what contained pockets of water will do for the birth rate of mosquitoes? Maybe some of those "self-aggrandizing pats on each others' backs backs" should be sped up and delivered to someone's backside...
---
Good grief! Since the first (the black trash ones) of the 3 new cans the City is delivering came to our neighborhood on Tuesday, I asked an official if we should start using the new ones immediately. Guess what... the City isn't even going to get the new trucks that will pick the new black trash up until 2023.. yep.. NEXT YEAR... at the earliest!

GA Governor Kemp just added another 6 weeks suspension of state assessed gasoline excise tax to the original May 31st date..Unfortunately, Georgians necessarily won't be the biggest benefactors. It's vacation season, and most Georgians will head for the beaches of Fl and AL, or the mountains of NC/TN where we Georgians will get "sticker shock" at what we have to pay for gasoline in those states, while vacationers from those states will enjoy paying less for gas as they pass through GA on their way to their vacation spots..

WTVM-TV9 online headline: "Columbus to host 17th annual UNCF Mayor’s Masked Ball" -- Good grief! How could any story about "the "Mayor's Masked Ball" NOT INCLUDE a rehash/followup of the story of Trenna Denise Trice... she embezzled nearly enough money from a previous Masked Ball event that would have built another $244,000 dollar Queen TT Riverwalk bathroom...What safeguards are now in place to prevent another such occurrence?

From the "That's a really good question" department - Columbus L-E headline: "Voters approve regional transportation tax. What does Columbus get out of it?" -- Yes.. what will Columbus get? I guess the first thing is "less than we put in"... Columbus only gets 85-cents back for every $1.00 collected in TSPLOST taxes.. Then Columbus gets shafted as the improved highway routes from Columbus-to-Harris County make it more attractive for Columbus jobholders to move there (for tax relief and safer streets) and commute back to Columbus for work. Ironically, Harris County voters were the most knowledgeable voters, and voted AGAINST the 10-year extension of the TSPLOST tax.
Oh! if you doubt this, just get off at I-185 Exit 19, and head east and see the huge housing communities under construction...

WTVM-TV9 headline: "Columbus Legislative Delegation dedicates bridge to late Albert Thompson" -- Judge Thompson was a very good man.. I was blessed to know him.. In a way, it's sad to realize that such a permanent marker should have been conceived years.. decades ..ago.. though I am pleased this was not done as a cheap political event just before the recent election...

From the "another feather in her hat of Georgia Hatred" department - Online headline/story: "Stacey Abrams serves as board member, governor of foundation that supports #AbolishThePolice * Stacey Abrams has previously tried to distance herself from hardline rhetoric of #DefundThePolice movement * State filings show, however, that she’s still listed as a board member and governing person at the Seattle-based Marguerite Casey Foundation, which tweeted #DefundThePolice as recently as March of this year and #AbolishThePolice as recently as February. * The foundation has also tweeted support for abolishing law enforcement and prison systems. On Feb. 11, the group shared a story about the "Prison Industrial Complex in Atlanta" and tweeted "#AbolishthePolice. * Abrams has received at least $52,500 in income from the far-left foundation, according to her financial disclosures." -- Hmmm.. Abrams gets $52,500.00 in income yet her campaign states " that Abrams does not hold the same views as the foundation".. Let's take a poll.. how long would local Columbus, GA companies Synovus, AFLAC, TSYS/GPN, or Bradley Company keep paying a person $52,500.00 who publicly disagrees with the corporate beliefs and policies?

Hmmm... Have you noticed that politicians are quick to blame.. criticize.. businesses for raising their profit margins to cover the cost increases caused by politicians invoking new and costly regulations?

Online headline: "Randi Weingarten slammed for asking for more COVID funding after CRT link: 'Shameful' * Teachers union chief Weingarten requested billions more in elementary school funding" - Good grief Weingarten is trying to resuscitate the Covid-19 strategy that worked to keep schools closed as a way to get funding for more CRT projects. Remember how there was Covid-19, then the subsequent "strains" that followed to extend funding? Now that the first wave of "Critical Race Theory" has been exposed as another liberal farce, Weingarten is trying to create "new strains" of CRT... "Can't Recall Truth" and "Can't Retell Tall-Tales".

Online headline/story: m"US GDP contracts further in 1Q * The U.S. economy contracted 1.5% on an annualized basis in the first quarter of 2022, according to revised data released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis on Thursday. * Economists surveyed by Refinitiv were expecting a seasonally adjusted annual contraction of 1.3%." * The data comes as inflation continues to run near a 40-year high and weigh on growth, with consumer price index, a wide-ranging measure of goods and services, including food, autos, gasoline, health care and rent, rising 8.3% in April from a year ago. * Prices jumped 0.3% in the one-month period from March. On a monthly basis, average hourly earnings dropped 0.1% in March, when accounting for the inflation spike. On an annual basis, real earnings dropped 2.6% in April." -- Hmmm... looks like Resident Biden's "economic plan" is about as non-existent as his Covid-19 plan...

Online headline: "Boston University (ASSistant) professor says property is racist, excuses Black Lives Matter riots after George Floyd death * Some estimates valued property damage after George Floyd protests and riots to be over $1 billion" -- Massachusetts should voluntarily pay back parents and student loans for any student that was exposed to this ASSistant professor's lies and rants! BU also needs to ask this ASSistant if the CURRENT.. ongoing.. damages by George Floyd inspired BLM protests are justified even after the law enforcement officer fall guy was convicted?

Online headline: "Michael Sussmann will not testify in trial, defense rests ahead of closing arguments" -- DOH! of course he's not going to testify... he never intended to do so... Would you? Now, I'm going to bet that Sussmann .. and his lawyers... played this scenario out as close to "playtime" as possible.. trying to get as good a deal financially from Hellary as they could.
