Online story: "According to the New York Times, T(_*_) Steyer wants to make his group, NextGen Climate (_*_)ction, a critical player in this year's races by putting $50 million of his own funds into the San Francisco-based group and seeking an additional $50 million from outside donors. The former hedge fund manager reportedly met with two dozen liberal donors earlier this month to offer details on his plan." -- "Former hedge fund manager"...You know, lib wackos like this (_*_) are the worst. He made a 'killing' on other people's investment miseries, and now he wants to inflict more miseries just to bask in the light of "look at me, I care". Of course, Democrat politicians fawn, and line up at his money trough knowing his vanity will put donations into keeping them in office whether or not the campaign promises are kept or not.
---
Online story: " 40,000 tons of New Jersey-bound rock salt has been stuck at a port in Maine because the Department of Homeland Security denied the state’s request to waive a provision requiring transport on an American-flagged vessel * The shipment was held up for failing to comply with the Jones Act, a 1920s maritime law that mandates commercial vessels transporting shipments between U.S. ports to be built and operated by U.S. citizens and to fly a U.S. flag * In 2012, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's (D) request to waive the Jones Act flag provision was approved under the Obama administration in an effort to alleviate fuel shortages in the Northeast after Hurricane Sandy." -- Hmmm, Christie is getting "McCained". When will Republicans "get it" that fawning over liberals will get you plenty of kudos in the mainstream media, but expecting MSM support and Democratic Party cooperation are not going to be there if you need anything political. NY has a Democrat Gov so it got the waiver,
---
From the "half empty or half full glass" department - Online headline/story: "Consumer Debt Hasn't Jumped This Much Since Before The Recession * U.S. household debt rose in the latest quarter by the most since before the recession, a sign that Americans may be nearing the end of a multi-year belt-tightening trend, data from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York showed on Tuesday." -- Take a deep breath and hold your nose for as long as you can... What this means is that you have to be prepared for another bubble burst "dunking" or an influx in political methane gas emissions. Credit jumps amidst the declining household income trend just say that people are either running up debt frivolously or because they really thought that new job/raise was going to happen... but it didn't.
---
Online story: "Reid's Fine Foods employee D--- S--- initially asked if he could help McCrory. After realizing he was speaking to the governor of North Carolina, he reportedly told McCrory "thanks for nothing" and walked away. * S--- told the paper the governor was upset with his dismissive comment and began "yelling" at him, saying he shouldn't be addressed that way as a customer. Swope said he doesn't fault the store for firing him, but told the newspaper he thought it was "shocking" that the governor "had me excluded from the workplace because I upset his feelings." -- Whatta (_*_)! Being an (_*_) on another person's nickel should get you fired... regardless! Now, can you imagine the mainstream media focus had the NC Governor been black or a Democrat, or if S---- did the same thing to Judas 00-Barnum?
---
Online story: "President Barack Obama is ordering a new round of fuel efficiency standards for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles by March of 2016. He is highlighting improvements already undertaken by companies such as Safeway to cut back on gasoline costs for their fleet of trucks." -- I'm confused.... how can Judas 00-Barnum claim that by requiring big trucks to get better gas mileage, it will help us at the pump? First, semis use diesel which is used in few passenger vehicles, but even more suspect is that even if gas usage should go down, new taxes will be enacted to make up for fewer gallons being used, so how do we save ?
---
WTVM9 news story: "Construction on a new roundabout in Columbus is making it difficult for some residents to maneuver in and around their homes on Schatulga Road. A portion of Schatulga Road is blocked off while crews work to improve traffic congestion along the busy roadway. * This is a problem that will eventually go away, but for now drivers will have to deal with the inconvenience of taking a detour to get home." -- "a problem that eventually will go away"? Yeah... right.. interested in some swamplands?
---
Speaking of "roundabouts".. let's talk about the one being planned at Green Island Drive & Cascade Road. First, any construction is going to be a nightmare for residents in the main Green Island complex... as it is, there are only two egress/ingress intersections for the whole area... disabling the main one for any length of time will be a political fiasco, but the fiasco will be worse AFTER it is finished. Has Mayor Obamalinson (or anyone in the traffic division) even looked on the map to see the proximity this intersection has with the River Road intersection? That's a state highway and controlled by a traffic light which operates under state provisions. No amount of hopeful wishes will stop the major traffic jams that will be crated when AM & PM rush hour traffic "happens".
---
L-E story: "With the (Guantanamo) prison camps now in their 13th year, the U.S. military is willing to allow some war-on-terror captives to have family visits — if the International Red Cross can find a Caribbean country to host the prisoners’ relatives between day trips to this remote U.S. Navy base." -- Good grief! Conjugal visits for terrorists? Doesn't the world have enough of terrorists already? I guess we're seeing the results of all the generals Judas 00-Barnum has fired in order to get some who will be Muslim terrorist friendly. If the Red Cross does get involved, cut off your support for everything they do other than blood donations.
---
L-E story: "Raising the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour could lift 900,000 Americans out of poverty but also cost a half million jobs, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said Tuesday in a report" -- Hmmm, let's parse this economically.. First, Judas 00-Barnum's interest in the minimum wage raise is purely political fodder for union support. Union contracts have clauses that effect union wage ratios based on the minimum wage. Secondly.. if 900,000 people get a $2.85 hourly wage, that's a total revenue increase of $2,565,000.00 per hour gain. On the other hand, if 500,000 jobs are lost at $7.25 per hour, that's a loss of $3,625.000.00 per hour loss. In effect, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office is saying that $1,060,000.00 an hour will be lost of taxable income. That's a 52 week/40 hours per week loss of $2,204,800,000.00 revenue taken out of the economy annually!
---
Online quote source: "“Accept responsibility for your life. Know that it is you who will get you where you want to go, no one else.” - Les Brown " -- Hmmm, another good tidbit that will never be seen in a welfare office or public school text book.
---
Hmmm, those student loans, especially for non-professional careers, Judas 00-Barnum pushes so hard to spread around are becoming an albatross around the necks of new home buyers once they've left school.
---
You know, it's easy to figure out why public sentiment and respect for the majestic and powerful elephant is higher than the political party of which it symbolizes . Unfortunately, it's even more obvious why the public sentiment is higher for the jackass than for the political party it symbolizes.
---
Speaking of jackasses, Jesus may be the reason Democrats hate Christianity . Huh? you say... Well, Jesus rode one pretty hard into Jerusalem and it doesn't appear Democrats are ready to forgive Him.
---
Online story: "4 1/2 months have passed and Cover Oregon OObamaCRAP still hasn't signed up any online insurance buyers. * The head of the Oregon OObamaCRAP state exchange created a fake website to fake out the feds on the progress that was being made. The damage before getting caught was $160,000,000.00. Hmmm, this may be a better damage control expense plan than getting the bill overturned by Republicans.
---
Good grief! The mainstream media is now claiming the unionization election at VW in Tennessee was defeated because of racism and a second Civil War. Slob Beckel truly revealed his second generational liberalist bias as a political advisor and Fox "contributor". In fact, while he's never claimed to be "fair", Beckel had blown his covert efforts to appear "balanced" as well.
---
With a tip from a fellow BCer: Important to see YouTube clip. Watch before you post anymore cellphone pictures on FaceBook or other I-net sites
---
L-E story: " The Columbus area is expected to grow by 1,400 jobs this year — virtually all in the private sector — as the city rides the “tailwind” created by the improving Georgia and U.S. economies. * That, and the stark realization that the local economy hinges on an evolving federal budget scenario, were major points made Tuesday by University of Georgia economist Jeff Humphreys at an economic outlook luncheon in Columbus." -- Hmmm, sounds suspiciously an orchestrated political message for Mayor Obamalinson. Name one of the predictions an UGA economist has picked correctly.. we only have to go back to BRAC to verify their validity.
---
L-E story: " A vacant part-time Juvenile Court judgeship in the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit has drawn intense interest from attorneys throughout the six-county region * There are 20 applicants for the $55,000-per-year position vacated late last year by the retirement of Judge Wayne Jernigan. * In addition to the salary the three-day-per-week job offers health insurance benefits and a state retirement." --Yeah, a part time job with full time benefits ..... great if you can get it, but don't look for one in the private sector. As Mel Brooks might opine, "It's good to be the king".
---
Low...very low info voter's L-E "soundoff": "Had Michael Dunn not had that gun with him he wouldn’t be in court being charged with murder. A 17-year-old scared that man so bad he shot him." -- Hmm.. another half-empty-half full situation.. How about if the teens didn't commit a crime, none would have ever known Mr Dunn had a gun in his home?
---
Another low info voter's L-E "soundoff": "We’ve got engineers bagging groceries, college grads and elderly parents living in our basements. Over $7 trillion in foreclosures and home equity loss, and Republicans still profess there’s too much financial regulation." -- Hmmm you know, if we had a time machine, we could go back and unplug Judas 00-Barnum's money printing machine, defeat OObamaCRAP, and stop the Carter/Clinton & Dodd/Frank agenda of destroying responsible mortgage qualifying. None of these were acts of Republican involvement.
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “There is, I think, nothing in the world more futile than the attempt to find out how a task should be done when one has not yet decided what the task is.” — Alexander Meiklejohn, American educator (1872-1964) -- Hmmm, reminds me of Democratic Party election strategy planning meeting, "You won't know what's in store until you elect us".
---
I'm sorry I can't get the picture to "copy", but there's a picture in today's L-E that was taken by Sergei Chuzavkov of the AP. It depicts an anti-government protester firing his scoped rifle at riot police in Kiev. I wanna know, did Sergei Chuzavkov believe the picture he took was more important than saving the life of the man the shooter was aiming? Chuzavkov had a choice. take a "shot" with his camera or stop a "shot" by the protester. Now, why did the L-E print such blatant selfishness?
---
L-E story: " The nation’s shortage of execution drugs is becoming increasingly acute as more compounding pharmacies conclude that supplying the lethal chemicals is not worth the bad publicity and the legal and ethical risks." -- Hey, publish the names of the companies that "feel" this way, and the general public will show them what bad publicity will do to the company shares of stock value!
---
Hey, you states that are getting cut off from execution drugs... I'll donate as many bullets as you need to carry out those death sentences.
---
The Columbus L-E has a feature called "Looking Back | Fifty Years ago" - Today's entry was this: "EDITOR’S NOTE: The Looking Back archive is temporarily unavailable due to technical problems." Technical problem? Have they forgotten how to walk down to "the Morgue" and scan and copy/print info? Reminds me of the person standing outside a car with a dead battery in his/her key fob, and frustrated because the door won't unlock. All the person had to do was insert the key into the lock and open it manually. Good grief!
---
L-E headline: "COURT: MAN STABS WOMAN WITH MACHETE * Hooten allegedly stabbed roommate in head, arm; neighbors say he has past of mental instability" -- Hmmm... another jailbird with mental health problems.. Hey Mayor Obamalinson, are you going to pay for this yourself because Sheriff Darr's budget is already busted trying to keep in federal compliance?
---
L-E headline: "PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP CONFERENCE * Mayor to speak at national conference in Dallas" -- Hey, Mayor Obamalinson... how many mental health sessions at the jail could be funded from the money being 'spent' on your vacation?
---
L-E story: " While the Muscogee County School District mulls the superintendent’s proposal to save money and add more time for remediation and enrichment by changing high school schedules from a modified block to a seven-period day, across the Chattahoochee River in Phenix City, the Central High School administration has requested to do the opposite." -- Good grief! Why do we search outside for new superintendents, when it's obvious we'll never find on that has the answers we're looking for. There are no new ideas out there, and none of the past superintendents (since Shaw) have been empowered long enough for any changes to show they actually work...
---
You know, I once got asked to leave a court room because I was wearing Bermuda shorts. Why is a murder suspect allowed to wear a printed t-shirt into the court?

Online headline/story: "US officials given 48 hours to leave Venezuela * President Nicolas Maduro's government on Monday gave three U.S. Embassy officials 48 hours to leave the country, accusing the Obama administration of siding with student protesters who Venezuela accuses of inciting violence. * Secretary of State John Kerry said Saturday that Lopez's arrest would have a "chilling effect" on Venezuelans' right to free expression." -- "48 hours"? Sorta like 'this town ain't big enough for the 'two' of us".huh? This does work both ways... how about shutting down "Citgo" gas stations here, and of course, the "New England Sweetheart Deal" developed between the late Chavez and late Senator Kennedy? You know, the one that gave Massachusetts (Kerry's state) et al special reduced winter time fuel oil rates.
---
Online OObamaCRAP "success" story: "In Miami, licensed practical nurse Marie Cadet, who is 54, often works double shifts to make ends meet for herself and her 12-year-old daughter. She had been paying more than $150 a month for health insurance, with a $3,000 deductible. In effect, she paid most medical costs out of her own pocket, including about $80 a month for blood pressure medicine. * After choosing a plan from the marketplace, Cadet's monthly payment dropped to $86 a month, with the government kicking in $300. Her deductible fell to a more affordable $900." -- "works double shifts to make ends meet"..."government kicking in $300"? The average salary in Florida for a LPN is about $40,000, so she could be making $50K-$80K annually for herself and one child, and "we" taxpayers are now adding another $3,600 a year extra in 'co-pay'? Does she get a 1099 form for that amount plus responsibility for paying the FICA on that?
---
Soapbox moment for above story: "In Florida, if LPN Cadet took a few more courses she could become a RN, and the average salary would bump up an additional 50%. Why doesn't she just do that versus jumping onto the government teat?
---
From the "huh" department - Online story: "A new study suggests earwax is not the same between races, with some people having more odor-causing chemical compounds in their earwax than others. * researchers noted that past findings have shown that people of East Asian descent, as well as people of Native American descent, possess a form of a gene that makes them have dry-type earwax -- versus wet, yellow-brown ear wax * researchers examined the earwax from eight healthy Caucasian men and eight healthy East Asian men." -- Good grief! A study of 16 people and it gets published and broadcast as "important" over the I-net? Somebody has way too much time on their hands.. Reality check: we probably paid for this study via a "grant".
---
Online story: "An Oklahoma pharmacy has agreed not to provide Missouri with a made-to-order drug for an inmate's execution scheduled for later this month, according to court documents filed Monday. * (_*_)'s attorney, M(_*_)tt Hellm(_*_)n, said that as part of the deal, the pharmacy acknowledged it has not already provided any such drug to the Missouri Department of Corrections for the execution, which is scheduled for Feb. 26 * The (_*_) pleaded guilty to abducting, raping and stabbing to death a 15-year-old Kansas City girl in 1989." -- Fortunately, Missouri has enough of the specific drugs on hand to execute this (_*_), but the fact that he's been breathing since 1989, that's 25 years for any liberals reading, at taxpayer expense (including the taxes paid for 'fast justice' by the family of the 15 year old daughter/granddaughter) is an outrage!
---
Closer to home L-E story: " Lawyers for the state and for a Georgia death row inmate sparred Monday over whether prisoners awaiting execution should have access to information about where the state gets its death penalty drug. * the (_*_) was sentenced to death for the 1990 beating death of fellow inmate Joseph Handspike. (_*_) bludgeoned Handspike with a nail-studded board while his victim slept, authorities have said. At the time, (_*_) was already serving a life sentence for the 1986 slaying of his girlfriend, Myra Wright, who was shot 11 times" -- The only information the lawyer or the twice convicted for murder prisoner is entitled to is the information sensed as the death drug enters his vein.
---
Online story: "An Arkansas man is in custody after he allegedly fired rounds into a car full of teens early Saturday morning, killing a 15-year-old girl. * Little Rock resident Willie Noble, 48, faces a slew of charges, including first degree murder, one count of a terroristic act and five counts of aggravated assault, KATV reported. * At approximately 1 a.m., a group of seven teenagers reportedly threw eggs, mayonnaise, toilet paper and leaves at Noble's car, according to FOX 16. * An irate Noble is accused of storming out from his house and firing shots. " -- You know... the story above was about a miscarriage of justice after a conviction was made 25 years ago. This story is about a miscarriage of justice by the DA's charges, and no jury will see it the DA's way. First Degree murder? I don't think so.. First degree has always been built around some form of premeditation, and hearing vandalism (at a minimum) going on in your yard, and rushing out in response is hardly "premeditated". In fact, it the vandals had been quieter, Mr Noble would probably slept through the ordeal and seen it the next morning.
---
HuffPost "headlie": "Katherine Clark Defeats GOP Rival In Congressional Race" -- Good grief.. it was Massachusetts.. Tuesday’s outcome was never seriously in doubt, since the district is heavily Democratic and favored President Obama over Mitt Romney by more than 30 percentage points in 2012. Clark was backed by her party, as well as unions and women’s groups, and raised $1.2 million. The state and national Republican parties had all but ceded the race to Clark, giving no financial help to Addivinola, a Boston lawyer who has run for office three times and does not live in the district.
---
Online story: "Whatever your political bent is, we would like to think that those engaged in the management of government have respect for the principles that have guided our nation to the height of power and prosperity. * That’s why the tweet sent to Barack Obama from CNN and ABC contributor Donna Br(_*_)zile is so disturbing to many: @donnabr(_*_)zile - .@BarackObama. Enjoy #PresidentsDay. With Congress on recess, this is action day! Let's move America forward." -- Ms Br(_*_)zile.. How about pretending Judas 00-Barnum is a Republican, and act accordingly; you certainly wouldn't encourage a Republican to take the Constitution apart. Report the news... just the news.
---
We worry about out local public school deficiencies, but it doesn't stop there. One of my college daughter's history professor has told them the only reference books they can use are the one she uses in class or something she personally approves of. That's a real way to get her students to stretch themselves ..NOT! I have some fabulous history books of the era she's studying but she could not get teacher approval to them. The study is about WWI, and the book I showed her was written in 1919 by reknown war analyst -correspondent S.J. Duncan-Clark with collaboration of the Secretary of the Navy, Josephus Daniels, General John J. "Blackjack" Pershing, and Admiral William S. Sims. Not a shoddy pedigree...Even sadder is that my daughter is in a teaching major.
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “The lack of a sense of history is the damnation of the modern world.” — Robert Penn Warren, American author, poet and critic (1905-1989). -- You know.. the item above this encapsules the bain of brainwashing being crammed into our youths' minds.
---
Since the Supreme Court won't let citizens or organizations put religious icons on public property, shouldn't the Supreme Court step in and prevent Judas 00-Barnum from acting like a god?
---
Even the liberalist of states, New York for a great example, are withdrawing their support for Common Core education. Republicans just need to back down a bit, and just stir the pot a bit.
---
Interesting question...What is our oldest federal holiday? The answer may or may not be as simple as you think..
---
Hmmm. if you guessed Christmas or Thanksgiving.. not bad, but Americans officially started celebrating Independence Day on July 4, 1777
---
Remember the "Knockout Game"? From mainstream media accounts, you'd think this was old news, but the latest black-on-white attack occurred the day after Valentine's Day in Boston. Did you catch it of the network news shows?
---
Whoa! Kerry has really upset the main stream media.. bad weather is now a weapon of mass destruction.. You know what that means, don't you..that Kerry believes Bush was right about Saddam Hussein's hoarding a weapon of mass destruction!
---
Hmmm... a reverse flip-flop for Kerry. He was for lynching Bush for his claim of Iraqi WMDs, but now he's against it...
---
A lot of words. a lot of speculation will precede the NFL draft this year because of homosexual interest by mainstream media. The big winner in this will be the NFL authorized manufacturer of "Soap on a Rope".
---
From L-E school board meeting story: " (Superintendent David) Lewis said he will require the district’s divisions and departments to use zero-based budgeting for the first time. That means every expenditure request, even if it was approved the previous year, must be authorized on its own merit." -- Hmm, guess now each department head will have to hire a new "budget analyst" to justify the spending from the previous year's budget. The bleeding, the waste.. never stops. Department heads should just be held accountable and responsible... like in real life private sector jobs.
---
L-E headline/story: "Motorcyclists plan to escort Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall to NIM * The National Infantry Foundation has entered into a 5-year agreement with Dignity Memorial for the museum to become its new home." -- Dignity.. dedicate and donate this as a permanent memorial at the National Infantry Museum.. make us prouder.
---
Obviously a marijuana smoking low info voter's L-E "soundoff": " Why do far-right Democrats hold racist attitudes toward Jewish people?" -- "far-right Democrat"?
---
L-E headline: "UN PANEL ACCUSES NORTH KOREA OF CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY" -- Yeah, for the dog & pony shows of Dennis Rodman and Bill Clinton.
---
Why is a lawyer who can't recognize that his wife is stealing from his escrow accounts being allowed to represent an alleged murderer? You know the GA Supreme Court will send this trial back under the "ineffective counsel" banner we are getting too use to seeing.
---
L-E headline: "Costas returns to Olympic coverage" -- Me thinks I tad too soon... it's apparent he still is suffering from his "I-infection".

Monday, February 17, 2014

Online story: "President Barack Obama says pending steps by Uganda to further criminalize homosexuality will complicate what he is describing as America's valued relationship with the East African nation." -- Hmmm... where does this problem fall in importance to Ugandi problems such as genocide and slave trafficking?
---
From above story: "As a country and a people, the United States has consistently stood for the protection of fundamental freedoms and universal human rights. We believe that people everywhere should be treated equally, with dignity and respect, and that they should have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential, no matter who they are or whom they love." -- Yeah, right... unless they are white, straight, Christian, and business owners.
---
Online story: "U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry warned Indonesians on Sunday that man-made climate change could threaten their entire way of life, deriding those who doubted the existence of "perhaps the world's most fearsome weapon of mass destruction".-- Well, John Kerry, I suggest you get on your knees and pray to God that he not unleash only what He controls.
---
HuffPost headline: "Republican Comes to Hillary Clinton's Defense" -- Hmmm... what Mitt Romney really said was, " if she decides to run for president," Romney said on NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday. "She has her own record and her own vision." * "I think Hillary Clinton, if she becomes the nominee, will have plenty to discuss about her own record,"
---
L-E headline/story: "GM Foundation giving grants to 3 Detroit charities * (GM Foundation President Vivian) Pickard * is expected to make stops at the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, Coalition on Temporary Shelter and Habitat for Humanity Detroit. * Since its inception in 1976, the GM Foundation has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to charities, educational organizations and disaster relief efforts worldwide." -- Whoa! Wait a minute! GM Foundation has given away 100s of millions over about 40 years yet we tax payers have lost over $10 BILLION bailing GM out? Why and how is the GM Foundation still in existence?
---
L-E story: " Faith Spotted Eagle figures that building a crude oil pipeline from Canada to the U.S. Gulf Coast would bring little to Indian Country besides more crime and dirty water, but she doubts that Native Americans will ever get the U.S. government to block the $7 billion project. * There is no way for Native people to say no – there never has been,” said Spotted Eagle, 65, a Yankton Sioux tribal elder from Lake Andes, S.D. “Our history has caused us not to be optimistic. . . . When you have capitalism, you have to have an underclass – and we’re the underclass.” -- Interesting... nowhere did she bring up the jobs it will create nor the customers for the casinos.
---
Online story: "Michael Quin, a blind man from Springfield, Mo., knocked down a three-pointer during halftime of College of the Ozarks vs. Bellevue game on Saturday, and in turn won free McDonald’s for a year." -- There are several ways to digest this.. I'm going to let you enjoy exploring the options for yourself. Think "McNuggets" and "nothing but net". Let Larry Bird slip in there, too.
---
Last week, as reported in the bastion of liberalism, the New York Times federal judge ARENDA L. WRIGHT ALLEN declared the Virginia ban on "gay marriages" unconstitutional because “Our Constitution declares that ‘all men’ are created equal. Surely this means all of us,”. What escaped notice was that neither the judge nor the New York Times noticed that the judge was quoting the Declaration of Independence instead of our Constitution. Yep, she's a Judas 00-Barnum supporter and appointee. as is the NYT. Let's hope someone other than the Virginia Attorney General appeals this verdict (he was for it) to the US Supreme Court based on the judge's "technical" error as well as the general principles of marriage. PS. remember her name ARENDA L. WRIGHT ALLEN in case one of your stste's Senators has to vote on her for a higher court position.
---
You know, we, all Americans, Republicans, Democrats, and more conservatives as well, would be better served if Bleep Veep Biden would have his next Botox injections in his tongue rather than his forehead.
---
L-E's "Quotable": "I liked things better when I didn’t understand them.” _ Bill Watterson American cartoonist (1958- )" -- Obviously a Democrat who's awakening from his stupor...
---
L-E headline: "Commentary: Miami Herald * Debt-limit bill was right move" -- Hmmm... bet this Miami Herald attitude will change by mid-October, when the Miami Herald will be blaming the Republicans for replenishing Judas 00-Barnum's checkbook.
---
Another L-E headline/story: "Commentary: Kathleen Parker * The ‘ruthless’ Hillary Clinton * The pollsters concluded: “What voters find slick in Bill Clinton, they find ruthless in Hillary. * Welcome to Double Standards 101." -- Hmmm, mainstream media admits Hillary is/was "ruthless" but Bill is/was just "slick"... now THAT's the real "double standard" the mainstream media perpetuates!
---
L-E headline: "FOSTER MURDER TRIAL STARTS TODAY * Charles Foster Jr.’s death was Columbus’ first ’13 murder, became a symbol of gun violence" -- WRONG! Foster's death was unfortunate, yes, but not a symbol of gun violence; it's more a symbol of the cultural decay of the importance and the reverence for life within the community.
---
L-E headline/story: "New Benning hotel sparks fear in local competition * Benning: We’re targeting official military travelers, not civilians * “I would like to stress that the purpose of this hotel is to take care of our soldiers and families,” said Al Gelineau, Fort Benning’s director of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation. “That’s our target market, the official traveler. Our soldiers work hard, they train hard, they fight hard, they deserve a quality room to stay in. That is our focus. The anxiety from the off-post hoteliers comes from the fact that under the Army’s “Privatized Army Lodging” program, the hotel that will bear the name “Abrams Hall” also will be turned over to a large company within a year of its debut." -- What out-and-out BS! The revamping/building of on-base living quarters to accommodate the influx of BRAC (which didn't happn) has generated an excess of on-post family facilities, and if you poll the young active soldiers as to whether they'd stay on post or get a motel room near the Columbus nightlife when they earn a weekend off, where do you suppose they will want to stay?
---
Low info voter's L-E "soundoff": " To all you people who pay your employees minimum wage, you’re not employers, you’re exploiters. Shame on you!" -- Alright (_*_), identify your business, and show us your payroll info... Hmmm, didn't think so...
---
Another low info voter's (and probable teacher) L-E "soundoff": " Proof Muscogee schools are socioeconomically segregated: Last weekend’s All-District Honor Band contained 17 and 8 Columbus and Northside students and 4, 3, 2, 2, 0 and 0 Hardaway, Shaw, Carver, Jordan, Kendrick, and Spencer students." -- What you see here is "proof" that when parents of the children are actually involved in the schools, things happen. What you see here is "proof" that the school system's attempt to be "the parent" is a failure.
---
From the L-E's "Today in History" feature: "In 1988, Lt. Col. William Higgins, a Marine Corps officer serving with a United Nations truce monitoring group, was kidnapped in southern Lebanon by Iranian-backed terrorists (he was later slain by his captors)." -- Then, as today, the L-E has a problem calling a terrorist a terrorist and al Qaida al Qaida...
---
Another Hollywooder has come out saying she's "gay". Hmm. would people do so publicly, LOUDLY, if they had to say, "I'm a homosexual" if a man, and, "I'm a lesbian" if a woman? The truth is not as playful sounding.

HuffPost headline: "Obama lifts the federal debt limit, restores benefit cuts" -- I guess next that the HuffPost will proclaim Judas 00-Barnum is faster than a speeding bullet-train, and able to schlep tall buildings, and lie his way out of a wet paper bag.

From story above: "Obama signed the bills during a weekend golf vacation in Southern California." -- You know.. this is about as hypocritical as a politician can get. Judas 00-Barnum put on a 'dog & pony show' about the drought in California, then heads out to a golf course which uses an unfair portion of water to keep it green regardless of farmers' needs.

---
Online headline: "NFL Report Concludes Richie Incognito Bullied Teammates" -- Good grief.. How does a 6'5", 312 pound lineman convince a panel of adults his is a victim of bullying? Seems like there's more "concussion damage" in the front offices of the NFL than on the field.
---
Online story: "People with serious pre-existing diseases, precisely those the president aimed to help with ObamaCare, could find themselves paying for expensive drug treatments with no help from the health care exchanges. * Those with expensive diseases such as lupus or multiple sclerosis face something called a "closed drug formulary." * Dr. Scott Gottlieb of the American Enterprise Institute explains,"if the medicine that you need isn't on that list, it's not covered at all. You have to pay completely out of pocket to get that medicine, and the money you spend doesn't count against your deductible, and it doesn't count against your out of pocket limits, so you're basically on your own." -- OObamaCRAP lives up to its name.....
---
Hate to even use his name, but DemoCRAP Ch(_*_) Crist needs to be exposed as the (_*_) he was/is/will be before he even moves up in the mainstream media highlight reel.

Online story: "Simple design tweaks are allowing gun makers to get around restrictions New York put in place following the 2012 school shootings in Connecticut, prompting some critics to say the laws were mere window dressing. * New York lawmakers passed the SAFE Act last year, and announced with fanfare that it effectively banned the sale of “assault weapons.” But AR-15s, the most popular type of guns often referred to as assault weapons, are sold in Empire State gun shops, freely and legally. The gun is being marketed by Stag Arms as a "New York-compliant AR-15," and features a slightly modified stock and no bells and whistles. The gun does not have a pistol grip, for instance - one of the features banned by the act." -- Democrat politicians are so much more stupid than we can ever give them credit for being.. Unfortunately, Republicans get more stupid trying to point this out in campaign season. Repubs should just let the voters figure this out in the polling precincts.
---
Pathetic... the US skate team is blaming their poor performance on their suits. Pathetic!

Online quote source: "“Greatness lies, not in being strong, but in the right using of strength; and strength is not used rightly when it serves only to carry a man above his fellows for his own solitary glory. He is the greatest whose strength carries up the most hearts by the attraction of his own.” - Henry Ward Beecher " -- Talk about the past predicting the future, Judas 00-Barnum has been outed.

Bleep Veep Biden... The guy wants to be taken seriously for a shot at the presidency yet alienates the entire Republican Party which is probably going to be the majority in both houses come November.

VW.... bought my daughter one in 08. If VW would make a larger model I'd buy one today to celebrate the VW employees for rejecting the UAW efforts. Amazingly, VW management did not hamper UAW efforts.

Have you noticed the number of car breakins/thefts that report laptops being stolen lately. Most of them reportedly cost more than mine. Have you noticed the range of temperatures we've had in the last month. Mostly in the 30s or lower. I'd never leave my laptop in my car overnight, but especially if the temp was as cold as it's been. Wonder if insurance companies are noticing, too.

During the 2008 campaigns, Hillary asked the question about who you would want to answer the "3:00 AM" call to the White House... her or 'him'? The question that we need to ask...and have answered, is, "After Benghazi, why should we allow Hillary to be near a White House phone at all?"
---
Online story: "When lawyers were shaking down the tobacco industry in the 1990's, it was clear that it was just a matter of when they'd loot again. The only question was who would be the next mark. That picture is clearing up. * The list of potential victims that acquisitive trial lawyers could separate from their money includes the oil and gas industry, the alcohol trade, drug companies and the firearms business. All would be fine trophies for the plaintiffs' attorneys. * It appears, however, that the next victim will be the food industry.
"Lawyers," Politico reported Wednesday, "are pitching state attorneys general in 16 states with a radical idea: Make the food industry pay for soaring obesity-related health care costs." -- Hmmm, can going after medical and recreational marijuana growers/dealers be far off? I mean, what else creates "the munchies" so well?
---
The problem with OObamaCRAP is that it not only makes young people who don't feel like they need coverage buy it, but it criminalizes older people who have paid their way for years. Not having a policy from an insurance company does not mean you are indigent nor unwilling/unable to pay for your medical care.

You know, those ice & snow storms in the northern mid-west and New England states are basically wasted... How come we can't get one on National Election day?

L-E story: "Black students are four times more likely to receive an out-of-school suspension in the Muscogee County School District than all the other races combined, according to district records. The administration has released a breakdown of its out-of-school suspension data from August through the first Monday of December in each of the past four years. It shows a significant decline in percentage of all students with at least one out-of-school suspension, from 7.5 percent in 2010 to 5.3 percent in 2012, although there was a slight increase to 6.3 percent in 2013. * But the percentage of those students with at least one out-of-school suspension who are black has risen sharply — from 78.3 percent in 2010 to 83.1 percent in 2013 — and is out of proportion to the district’s overall population. The student body was 57.3 percent black in 2010 and 57.8 percent black in 2013." -- Two things are quite evident: 1 - This is a cultural failure, not a racist one. 2 - The school system's attempt to take over the parents job is a complete failure.. transporting, feeding, baby-sitting are aspects that need to be part of the natural parent/child relationship/development cycle. Get federal government out of our schools, and the natural parents back into their children's lives.
---
Confused voter's L-E "soundoff": " I don’t know who to vote for in the next election. The Democrats want to control what goes on in my bank account, and the Republicans want to control what goes on in my bedroom." -- Well, you can cut off your cellphones/computers and lock your bedroom door, but you cannot keep IRS out of your bank accounts... Easy choice!
---
Low info voter;s L-E "soundoff": "If you plan on visiting Florida this summer, be aware. You have thousands of gun-toting nuts just looking for an argument and a reason to kill you." -- Hmm... is the glass half full or empty? I see it that it's nice to know there are plenty of good armed Floridians ready to come to my aid if some (_*_) tries to mug me.
---
L-E story: "A Columbus man fired a warning shot at a would-be burglar Friday after he answered an alarm on Andrea Drive. * Two officers were called to a home in the 700 block of Andrea Drive around 7:30 p.m. to check on a burglar alarm. When they arrived, a 19-year-old man said he fired a bullet into the dirt after finding a man dressed in black running from the home" -- Hmmm, what about "the rest of the story"? Who owned the gun the 19 year old fired? Did the police give him any shooting tips/lessons so he wouldn't miss next time?
---
L-E story: "U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services says the event on Monday will be one of 148 naturalization ceremonies around the country between Feb. 14 and 22 to honor Presidents’ Day. Nationwide, about 17,800 people will take the oath of citizenship during that time. * The candidates for the ceremony in Atlanta come from 37 different countries and include four active members of the U.S. military." -- Standing "O"! Welcome to the greatest Nation in the history of the world. Now, while there's still time, vote to oust the greatest threat to the greatest nation.. the Democrat Party.

Let's parse Karl Douglass today:
1 - He's wrapped up in Congressman Bishop's campaign for re-election. Response: The L-E should note this before publishing his writings, and his motives should be exposed.
2 - Writes: According to a recent Kids Count survey, almost 15,000 children in Muscogee County live in poverty. That’s about 30 percent of all children who live in the county. Response: How many of these children live in poverty because of government programs passed/promoted by his boss that diminish initiative of entitlement recipients in order to keep them in poverty?
3 - Well, it is critical to understand that not everyone who lives in poverty is unemployed. If a single parent of three wakes up every day and goes to work earning minimum wage of $7.25, after working 40 hours a week for 52 weeks each year he or she will earn gross wages of $15,080. Response: How many names can Douglass provide of a single parent who works solely for minimum wage, and how many of these are singles males?
4 - The simple fact is that all the statistics indicate poverty is an epic problem in Columbus. Response: There are no "simple facts". Statistics aren't facts, especially "simple facts". Statistics are probabilities at best and do not reflect reality.
5 - We cannot truly be the community that we aspire to be until we wrestle with the persistent poverty in which close to 30 percent of our children find themselves. - Response: Government cannot be "the parent". Government should only be involved to assure everyone has the chance to succeed.
6 - Let’s commit to the goal of having fewer Columbus children live in poverty over the next decade than have faced that reality over the last decade. Response: How about committing to voting for candidates that will promise a hand up instead of hand outs.
---
L-E's "Quotable": "he who stops being better stops being good" - Oliver Cromwell, British military leader 1599-1658" -- Hmmm, no wonder our school systems want to rewrite history.. the school system's pattern is to dumb down the curriculum and test results rather than make to effort to teach students the truth about what will get them out of poverty.
---
Leonard "The" Pitts commentary headline: "For sale — the Martin Luther King legacy" - Pitts is rightfully going after King's family/children, but the people who really sold out King first were his disciples in their quest "to get theirs" no matter what... Jesse Jackson, Charlie Rangel, John Lewis, Al Sharpton, leap to mind.

HuffPost "Healthy Living" story: "Marijuana has long been used to effectively treat symptoms associated with HIV, such as chronic pain and weight loss. But a growing body of research suggests the plant may be able to stop the spread of the disease itself. * For 17 months, scientists administered a daily dose of THC, an active ingredient in cannabis, to monkeys infected with an animal form of the virus." -- Liberals will do.say anything to create "facts". I can see where dosing any animal, monkey of human would stop weight loss just by creating the "munchie syndrome" but what is "healthy living" about feeding cannabis and "munchies" to monkeys daily? Sounds more like the lab people have been running a parallel study. And where's PETA? I thought PETA was intensely against using animals in lab tests...

Online story: "It's been so bitterly cold for so long in the Upper Midwest that the Great Lakes are almost completely covered with ice. The last time they came this close was in 1994, when 94 percent of the lakes' surface was frozen. * As of Friday, ice cover extended across 88 percent, according to the federal government's Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory in Ann Arbor." -- Where's Algore? Why his "logic". the Great Lakes being 6 percentage points below record freeze-over could be extorted as "proof" of Global Warming.

Online story: " More than a ton of illegal shark fins were seized from a vendor in San Francisco, state wildlife officials said Friday. * Michael Kwong, 42, of Kwong Yip Inc. was cited for having 2,138 pounds of the fins, which violates California's ban that went into effect in July, said Lt. Patrick Foy of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. * Possessing shark fins, selling or trading them is a misdemeanor under California's law" -- "misdemeanor"? Why do you have an animal abuse law against possessing "shark parts" that doesn't have "any teeth" in it. Me, I'm encouraged that it may be safer to go back into the ocean in the future.

Max Baucus (D-Mont.) and Rep. Dave Camp (R-Mich.) that would grant that authority, and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi rejected the Baucus-Camp proposal on Wednesday." -- Excuse me, buit has Biden, too, started to ignore the 10-ton GOP Elephant in the House?

You know, the lack of military preparedness depleted by the Clinton administration lead to 9-11-01. Judas 00-Barnum's military will be less prepared than Clinton's when he leaves office. Will there be a 9-11-16 facing America's next president? Ironically, it could be another Clinton.

L-E story: "Thousands of Muslims who tried to flee the violence in Central African Republic’s capital were turned back by peacekeepers Friday, as crowds of angry Christians shouted “we’re going to kill you all.” -- Hmmm, "angry Christians"? ---
From L-E commentary by associate "perfesser" at Lagrange Colige: Liberal TV MSNBC 'jernalist' Rachel Maddow wrote "wasn’t the Emancipation Proclamation an executive order?" -- Hmmm, actually it wasn't.. Contrary to the credit liberals give to the Emancipation Proclamation, said proclamation only freed slaves in the states that had already seceded from the nation. It didn't apply to border or Northern states.
---
L-E story: "They call it the holy grail of ready-to-eat meals for soldiers: a pizza that can stay on the shelf for as long as three years and still remain good to eat." -- Hmmm, now, would you want to be the first soldier to test eat a pizza that had been sitting around for 3 years? How about testing them out in fraternity houses, first.

Karzai is snubbing Judas 00-Barnum by releasing about 65 "terrorist detainees", ones our soldiers captured and turned over to Afghanistan to try/incarcerate. You know, this is not unexpected.. Karzai doesn't care if the releasees kill our soldiers.. he is just looking out for himself for when the Taliban resumes power following 00-Barnum's scheduled pullout.
--
You know.. What Karzai has done is totally blamable on Judas 00-Barnum's schedule announcements to withdraw American soldier support. If 00-Barnum pledged to be there until the Taliban was eliminated or conceded, Karzai would still be in our corner.

For that matter NO Republican voted against her.

And that’s what I intend to reverse when I’m president of the United States of America." -- Hmmm, Judas 00-Barnum went after Bush43 for raising the debt ceiling, and using executive orders... guess 00-Barnum is glad there's a another liberal voter born every minute who will forget which lies he has told which Democrat voter sect.

Oh...new jobless claims "unexpectedly high" this week. Hmmm, you don't suppose those losing their long term unemployment checks considered themselves "pink slipped" from a Judas 00-Barnum created shovel ready job, do you?

You know with the number of people able/willing to work shrinking, if the economy were just standing still, employers would be raising their salary structures to attract the better employees from those available. Online story: "ABC News' Dan Harris revealed on Wednesday that he struggled with drug use for years." -- Hmmm, about 5 years, I'd say.. starting with discovering Judas 00-Barnum was a liar worse than Clinton.
---
Online story: "MSNBC host Krystal Ball had some surprising advice for Hillary Clinton on Tuesday: "Don't run, Hillary. Don't run." * Clinton, the "Cycle" host said, was "not the right person for this moment."
Ball went on:"Is someone who recently took $400,000 to give two speeches at Goldman Sachs the person we need to wrest control of the asylum back from the banking inmates? Someone who, at those paid speeches, reassured those masters of the universe in attendance that they were being unfairly persecuted?" -- Hmmmhow ironic.. a "Krystal Ball" has revealed the number one problem in liberalism... mainstream media can deal with/accept Hillary's lies, but not when she's telling the truth.
---
Online story: "President Barack Obama increased the minimum wage for a few hundred thousand federal contractors on Wednesday, then pressed the divided Congress to pass broader legislation that would apply to all workers. * "Raising the minimum wage is good for business, it's good for workers and it's good for the economy," Obama said." -- First, I wanna see the actual number of federal contractor employees working for minimum wages, but what has really happened is that now all union contracts swing into play because they are tied into the federal minimum wage level. Secondly, Judas 00-Barnum did not order this because it was " good for business, it's good for workers and it's good for the economy"... it's been good for distracting mainstream media on what's been bad for Judas 00-Barnum.

Online story: "Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin was convicted Wednesday on charges that he accepted bribes, free trips and other gratuities from contractors in exchange for helping them secure millions of dollars in city work while he was in office, including right after Hurricane Katrina. * The federal jury found Nagin guilty of 20 of 21 counts against him." -- First, I'm really stunned at the results. Nagin must have really pissed off the DNC and it abandoned him, but as Yogi Berra said, "it ain't over until it's over". We still have to deal with the sentence some fed judge will dispense, and the appeal to the next level and so-on.

Online story: "This is one way to skew the Obamacare stats and turn the IRS into the Democrats’ personal political army in a stroke:
Consider what administration officials announcing the new exemption for medium-sized employers had to say about firms that might fire workers to get under the threshold and avoid hugely expensive new requirements of the law. Obama officials made clear in a press briefing that firms would not be allowed to lay off workers to get into the preferred class of those businesses with 50 to 99 employees. How will the feds know what employers were thinking when hiring and firing? Simple. Firms will be required to certify to the IRS – under penalty of perjury – that ObamaCare was not a motivating factor in their staffing decisions. To avoid ObamaCare costs you must swear that you are not trying to avoid ObamaCare costs. You can duck the law, but only if you promise not to say so. * Company officials will be trapped in a catch-22. They can lay off as many people as they want because of Obamacare. But because they’ll have to swear to the IRS that their decisions had nothing to do with Obamacare, they can’t speak publicly about what’s happening. What a great way to silence the people who are on the front lines of dealing with Obamacare’s horrific effects." -- Hmmm, and the real kicker is that when the IRS asks questions about your motives, you cannot "take the 5th" as you can in a court of law.

A story in the Columbus L-E concerning local political donations for local offices once again reveals a need for campaign finance reform. Incumbents raising funds during their terms of office for re-election is somewhat coercing, sorta like AC-DC blackmail. How about a simple donation reform that allows receiving/giving donations only in a period of the 12 months preceding the swearing in date of the office the candidate is running for election/re-election. When donations are given/received during the other months of an incumbent's term, who knows what promises, what conditions, what deals are tied to it. Also, what needs to be revealed are "donations" made from any candidates personal foundation that similar "donations" are made to organizations benefiting from the LOST Public Safety tax revenues earmarked for "Crime Prevention".

Low info voter's L-E "soundoff": "CNN’s poll says 63% of Dems vs 44% of Reps understand women’s issues. Gee, 107%? CNN is a child left behind. Besides everyone knows 78% of all statistics are made up on the spot." -- "78% of all statistics are made up on the spot".. yeah, including this one. First, a poll measuring percentages of Democrats and Republicans is not going to add up to 100%. The percentages concluded are how the certain party affiliates are opining about specific issues. Secondly, why would anyone believe a CNN poll on anything?
---
Poignant L-E "soundoff": "Since this is Black History Month, wouldn’t it be a good thing for the Ledger to do an article on the history of our first black president? I’m anxiously waiting." -- The "why" is easy... all the pertinent info is sealed from FIA.

L-E story: "On its 5 p.m. newscast Wednesday, WRBL interviewed Muscogee County Superintendent David Lewis, who told the media he consulted with meteorologists (yes, plural) before deciding late Tuesday night to cancel school. * The TV station said their meteorologists were never consulted, and quoted its own Bob Jeswald saying that the forecast actually didn't change during the evening. * WRBL said when confronted about the number of meteorologists consulted, Lewis revised his statement to say he only spoke with one meteorologist." -- Well, there goes another "hope" dashed.. the hope of getting an honest Superintendent of Schools.

After reading about the budget conflicts between Mayor Obamalinson and Sheriff Darr, perhaps it's time for the jail budget/budgeting be handled directly by Council. Not only would it free up the Sheriff from baby sitting duties, maybe the Council would read what the federal demands are on how prisoners must be handled medically.

Not a good week for the automobile industry... Toyota's future is being filleted on its flagship Prius models, and Corvette just had its history swallowed up.
