As an auto finance company, AmeriCredit will be able to help GM to meet customer demand for leasing and nonprime financing for GM vehicles." -- Aside from the fact that GM is spending taxpayer dollars to do this, why would GM buy another finance company to make loans on cars? Wouldn't you think loaning the $3.5 BILLION dollars directly to customers through existing options would be cheaper and more efficient?

Obama's policies will put more people on welfare than any president before him so this placement is most appropriate. Unlike the Nobel Peace Prize, for which he did nothing, this is an "honor" he richly deserves.

This is not California, not some third-world country, but in our neighboring state!

At this point, why is BP continuing with its plan to bore into the old well pipe? If something goes wrong, there'll be a worse situation than existed before. Why not slip some sort of collection pipe over the current 'cap', then reopen the valves and collect the oil?

Why does the L-E bury the story of DIM/DUMBorat Charles Rangel being charged with ethics violations on page A-8, but runs a mundane, at best, story on Republicans Handel & Deal concerning finance issues of a run-off? Maybe the L-E thinks the Rangel problem will go away if the L-E shuts its eyes real tight!
