The Breakfast Club - July 5, 2010

Online headline: "Dividend Stocks to Plunge 16% Due to Tax Increases?" -- Nancy Pelosi thinks pulling money out of thin air to give to the unemployed is the way to spur the economy, but thinks pulling real money out of the economy is too. Hurry November!
---
Online headline: "GM Plans IPO for Mid August" -- Ooops, my bad! Thought GM was going to Impeach Potus Obama.
---
One of the features at the AT&T National golf tournament this year was the "Lincoln Shot of the Day". It's borderline at being politically insensitivem but at least it was called "Ford presents the Lincoln Shot of the Day".
---
The two best 4th of July ad yesterday: Hobby Lobby's ad in the L-E, and Dodge's Charger ad featuring George Washington driving against the British Army.
---
L-E headline: "Decision to extradite Polanski expected soon " -- Ooops, my bad! Thought it read "execute" and I got excited.....
---
L-E headline: "Wonder Woman’s new costume sparks interdimensional ire " -- Bet it's a flop..and bet you won't see Temperance Brennan wearing it on the Halloween episode of next season's "Bones"!
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “Without promotion something terrible happens: Nothing!” — P.T. Barnum, American showman (1810-1891). " -- Of course the reverse is true, something terrible happens, when DIM/DUMBorats do promote their agenda.
---
So the complaints about the bike trail crossing Hilton Avenue are already happening. It was one of those little details Council failed to consider what we used to have when trains crossed there twice a day to the chagrin of motorists, and now Brinkley Pound wants to give bicyclists the right to stop Hilton Road motorists at their whim. I'm glad she has opposition in running for the MCSD board.
---
As long as McCain, Graham, Steele, and Rove are "pushed" as the voices of the Republicans, the Republican agenda will not excite the conservative Republican or Independent voter in the November elections. Boehner needs to find other faces/leaders to put in front of the camera!
---
You have to read Kathleen Parker's commentary genderizing potUS Nero-bama as "our first woman president". Now we'll just have to sit back and see if potUS Nero-bama will be man enough to challenge her premise.
---
The Founding Fathers would probably add George Will's commentary in today's L-E to "The Federalist Papers" and Thomas Paine's "Common Sense" as a much needed addendum.
---
Another 'shot heard 'round the world'....congrats, Larry Mize!
---
Who's Joe Johnson? Who are the Atlanta Hawks? Who cares?
---
When you think about it, the Atlanta Hawks could increase attendance at the games and get more viewers on TV if they just held 10 or 15 random $1 million dollar giveaways, and save money over what they have decided to pay Joe Johnson.
---
Who'd a thunk it.. Tiger Woods being made mortal by an extra-stiff shaft? Keep on praying for him and Elin.
