Mayor Obamalinson presented a new budget that may cause the 'fund balance" to dip below the number of days required to keep top credit levels for City debt. The fund balance has dwindled down to about 70 days which could make bond/debt service people get a little antsy about the fund balance sinking below the 'required; 60 day amount, Perhaps the trend could be reversed if she'd stop building/maintaining negative revenue public facilities like the dog park, bike trail, natatorium, employee health clinic, and recycling center, and shutting down donations to ineffective crime prevention programs.

In his L-E column today, Congressional staffer for Congressman Bishop, Karl Douglass takes on the mayor's budget and use of the City's "fund balance" (operations savings account). Douglass states one of his "business partners often tells me, “Hope is not a strategy." He furthe adds, " In spite of the city’s tough budget picture, I remain optimistic. I still believe that our city’s tomorrow will be better than its today. Especially if we all agree that some sacrifice by all is better than complete sacrifice by some.".-- Guess he's learned about "HOPE" from the Judas 00-bama campaign playbook, and about "complete sacrifice" from Marx. What Douglass is not saying is that Marxists lie too.. Despite the claim that " if we all agree that some sacrifice by all is better than complete sacrifice by some", Marx also believed that while everyone was "equal", some, especially himself and friends, were MORE equal than others.
