Congress's ban on incandescent light bulbs goes into effect on Jan 1, 2014 when the last of the 40 & 60 watt bulbs can be made. 75 & 100 watt bulbs were terminated last year. Once the supply is sold off, we will be limited to fluorescent or new low wattage $10-$60 bulbs. Some choice.. the 'flicker' of fluorescent bulbs in schools was probably the main cause of the increases in the number of kids 'diagnosed' with ADD/ADHD, and now, combined with the flicker of TV's and computer screens, fluorescent bulbs will become the "hat trick" of creating more ADD/ADHD children that get sent to daycare. The only non-flicker lighting source will become the sun, and who's children play outside anymore?

The real danger of the OObamaCRAP insurance program will be the high deductibles for ordinary medical services. Hospitals' and doctors' bills/charges are manufactured to include the "normal" discounts insurance companies negotiate with them. Until you've paid your premiums and the full amount of the deductibles, insurance does not "kick in". Say your premiums are $500.00 a month, and you have a $5,000.00 dollar deductible...you'll pay $6,000.00 annually in premiums (whether you have any other medical costs at all), then you pay the first $5,000.00 over that... basically you are responsible for the first $11,000.00 every year. Trouble with the current billing/charging practices is the "built in discount" hospitals and doctors have in their billing. That first $5,000.00 of deductible really only cover $2,500.00 because an equal amount would be the discount your insurance company would pay if you had a zero deductible plan. In short, your insurance premiums are not $5,000.00, but $7,500 with a $2,500.00 additional windfall profit for hospitals and doctors BEFORE your insurer pays out a dime. Welcome to OObamaCRAP. Adjust your insurance plan accordingly.

Has anyone else noted the irony of many ads running 'today' that feature young people using their electronic devices against background shots of libraries or other book cabinet places? Cgances are those young people will never read 'a book' as long as they have their faces glued to their smartphones and notepads. More irony is that this doesn't sound very 'smart' on theirs or our parts.
