There's a slideshow on AOL of a tour of epic product failures/launches.. there are remembrances of "new Coke" & "Crystal Pepsi", Ford's "Edsel" & the "Yugo", the Apple "Newton" & Blackberry "Playbook"... you sorta get the picture, but what I thought ot was leading up to was the number one launch failure ever, OObamaCRAP, but nary a word was mentioned. I mention this only to save you 3 or 4 minutes each.

Cracker Barrel.... it should have had a special place in the above list..... how it handled its "Duck Dynasty" stance was disgraceful... makes you wonder what Cracker Barrel is really about.

Online story: "You may be better off not reading this if you're one of the millions of Americans traveling this holiday season. However, one safety expert is desperate for you to know: Airport security in the U.S. is basically a sham. * “Checking luggage is very nice, it looks great, taking away the breast milk of the mother of a one month old baby, that looks great,” said Rafi Sela, the president of A.R. Challenges, a transportation consulting firm based in Israel. “It does nothing for security. It’s just a show." -- I agree... no program of security that doesn't "allow" stereotyping in any circumstance does not work as well as it can, and in the case of flying, should. The "Achilles Heel" of security breaches is "political correctness".

Online headline: "Cleveland Hero Who Helped Free 3 Kidnapped Women Signs Book Deal" -- Good grief. Now there are "book deals" for 14.9 minutes of fame?

---
L-E story: "KANSAS CITY, KAN. — Kansas government and business leaders will headline a small-business forum next month sponsored by the state Commerce Department." -- Good grief..Out of curiosity... why is the Columbus L-E carrying this story? Couldn't the L-E have looked at the AP feed, and finding it a little bit interesting, done some areal research and found something similar that will be accesible to local people?

Online headline/story: "Only 4 In 10 Americans Are Aware Of The Incandescent Lightbulb Phase-Out * In addition to the shocking discovery that Millennials don’t really think about light bulbs that much, the survey found that only four in 10 respondents are aware that on Jan. 1, 40W and 60W incandescent bulbs, the most popular light bulbs in America, will join energy-wasting compatriots, 75W and 100W incandescent bulbs, in A-shape heaven when their domestic manufacture and import completely ceases." -- You know, this may be the answer to Judas 00-bama's OObamaCRAP nightmare.... There's no way to buy/store enough incandescent light bulbs to last you any significant amount of time, and with what the new generation of lightbulbs are costing,, people on fixed or low end income will need a federal subsidy to have light in their homes.

---
Online story about above: "Lightbulbs have changed quite a bit lately. Compact fluorescent lamps were introduced as highly efficient alternatives to traditional bulbs before 100, 75, 60 and 40-watt incandescent lightbulbs are phased out of production by 2014. * But now, the new lighting revolution is in LED. These high-tech bulbs last upwards of 20 years and use minimal energy. But, the new Philips 10-watt bulbs cost $60. Each. The good news is that the bulb is so efficient that if every 60-watt incandescent in the country were replaced, $3.9 billion and 20 million metric tons of carbon emissions would be saved in one year" -- Just taking a quick count around my home, and I came up with needing 122 inside bulbs, and 25 outdoor bulbs... that's 147 bulbs that will need replacing in the next year. At $10.00 a pop, replacing them all will cost nearly $1,500.00; at $60.00 a pop, we're pushing $9,000.00. And what about public housing? As soon as the government programs put in $60.00 light bulbs, there will be street dealers pushing stolen bulbs on every street corner, and it will be a continuous recycling plan of underground income for public housing residents.

---
WAIT A MINUTE! Losing cheap lightbulbs is every man's dream come true... We've already decorated our houses with indoor and outdoor Christmas lights, so now we have a really good excuse not to take them down by January 1st! We can leave them up all year which saves us even more time at having to put them up/take them down every year! Of course, divorce lawyers will be working overtime...

Online story: " Interior Secretary Sally Jewell on Monday rejected a proposed land swap with the state of Alaska to build a road through a remote Alaska national wildlife refuge that shelters millions of migratory waterfowl. * The contentious decision on whether to build a one-lane gravel road to provide those in a remote village with medical evacuation access to an all-weather airport came after four years of analysis * Jewell said even though the proposed swap would bring more acres of land into the refuge system, the department’s analysis indicated it could not compensate for the unique values of existing refuge lands or the anticipated effects a road would have on the refuge. * The lagoon is home to the world’s largest known bed of eelgrass and provides fodder to Pacific brant, endangered Steller’s eiders and other migratory waterfowl as they fatten up to head south for the winter." -- The feds would gain a net of over 54,000 acres in a swap for a single lane road bed that would be about 1,800 acres in total use. This rivals the idiocy of a dam in California that would provided irrigation for 1000's of acres of farm land being thwarted by snail darters (itty bitty fish) a few years back. Democrats... they talk a good game about being for the poor and oppressed, but that's all they do... talk about it. When is the life of a single person worth less than a blade of eelgrass? As soon as the wacko leftists protest about it.

It was bad enough that Judas 00-bama claimed credit for signing up for OObamaCRAP when a WH staffer did the work, but it was aggravating for him to gloat over his keeping his military insurance. No other military vet or enlisted man gets a stand-by doctor who travels with him, and is unavailable for other soldiers I'm need of medical services

---
Somebody on the White House staff signed Judas 09-bama up on the OObamaCRAP D.C. insurance exchange. I wanna know what Social Security number was used.

---
I do believe I've coined the name the Bronze plan of OObamaCRAP.... Crash for Clunkers.

---
You know, it's a toss up as to whether the sign language guy or Judas 00-bama knew less of what he was talking about at the Mandela funeral.

---
The Senate Intelligence Committee... is that not a true oxymorn?

---
McClatchy headline/story: "113th Congress is on track to become least productive in history * Before the Senate adjourned Friday for an extended holiday break, the two bodies of the 113th Congress sent President Barack Obama fewer than 70 bills for his signature." -- Hmmm... Thank God... something had to be done to stop the bleeding. The 111th Congress, with a super-majority of Obamarats in both chambers passed about 375 bills, including OObamaCRAP... how's that working out for you?

--
There was a major corporation PR woman who lost her job because she "twiited" that she felt she was going to be protected from AIDS on her trip to Africa because she is "white". This same person was previously the darling of mainstream media because she filleted actor Kirk Cameron for being strong about his Christian beliefs and values. This is the game plan of mainstream liberal media; to keep its members under thumb... applaud when 'members' attack people on moral issues, and destroy 'members' when they break rank. Such is the angst of the mainstream media's attempt to get its foundation re-stabilized since Judas OO-bama shook it so hard since his re-election. Mainstream media tried to pull another "Paula Deen" on Phil Roberston, but Christians have stood up quickly/loudly/proudly in defense of his rights and testimony. Finally, there is true "Hope & Change" in America's near future.

---
L-E story: " President Barack Obama signed an executive order Monday authorizing a 1 percent pay raise for federal employees, ending a four-year freeze in salary rates. * Salary rates have not been increased since January 2010." -- Well.... with good reason, and better reasons than Judas 00-bama has for ordering one now, but I guess the Democrats in Congress up for re-election this year need the federal employees' votes.

---
L-E's "Quotable": “I’m always fascinated by the way memory diffuses fact.” Diane Sawyer American journalist (1945- )" -- You know... this is a classic denial on Sawyer's part. Facts become diluted or muted by how the media records and reports them at the moment then rehashes them in later form. I had a college professor give me some research advice that's even more important today than it was nearly 40 years ago. He told me if you do research on an historical event, "don't rely sources that were published more than 20 years after the event. All you will get is someone else's, who was not present, views on what he has read about and decided to make his point of view.".

The current Budget Deal: Too rigged to fail.
---
Online story: "In a Tournament of Roses first, two Los Angeles men will celebrate their gay marriage on a Rose Parade float as it goes down Colorado Boulevard on New Year’s Day." -- Think I'll see if I can find a duck hunt available.. anybody know if Phil or Uncle Si have any openings?
---
I don't know why the NFL has kowtowed to the concussion suits filed by former players. It was before OObamaCRAP, and pre-existing college concussion damages weren't covered.
---
L-E story: "Boise State University quarterback Joe Southwick said he was unfairly dismissed from the Hawaii Bowl, arguing he was falsely accused of urinating from a hotel balcony." -- Wow! Are we going to get a story about a player appealing for a urine test to prove his innocence?
---
L-E story: "Buried on the (UGA) depth chart, having been passed by younger players and a walk-on, sophomore quarterback Christian LeMay is planning to transfer. * However, LeMay remains with the team for now and plans to travel with the team to the Gator Bowl, according to a team spokesman and LeMay’s own Twitter account" -- If I were coaching a college football team, there'd be zero-tolerance for any player having a "twitter" account.
