Online story: "Authorities in the Belgian capital Brussels on Wednesday called off the city's traditional New Year's Eve fireworks display, citing fears of a militant attack. *  The two people arrested, who were likely to appear in court on Thursday, belong to the Kamikaze Riders, a motorbike club whose members are mostly of North African origin " -- Excuse me.. anybody seen the Las Vegas "odds" on a citizen of North African origin being/not being a Muslim?

A "really got a grasp on it" L-E "soundoff:"To the Sound-Offer who had 6 bags of leaves on the street for 12 days: You’re peanuts. I had 22 bags until they floated down the street to my neighbor, who now has 30 bags." -- What can I add?  q;-)

Thinking about the garbage pick-up debacle this week in Columbus..you know, Mayor TomLYINGson could have.. no, SHOULD have gone "all-in" on making this a showcase to demonstrate "she was right" in going after the once-a-week garbage pick ups. Instead, she has "egg" on her face.. of course, the "egg" won't get picked up and delivered until next week.

---
From the "what media bias?" department - Online headline/story: "President Obama signed a bill into law Monday that will outlaw tiny particles called microbeads that have entered America's water supply by the billions. 8 US bans soaps, body washes with harmful ingredient" -- You know,  a Congress with a majority of Republicans passed the bill.. all NERO-bamageddon did was sign it and act like it was all his doing..

---
Online headline/story: "Obama has some very specific food preferences *
No gum wrapped in tiny papers; he prefers plastic-packed Dentyne Ice
Only "normal" Nicorette gum, not special flavors
No candy in trail mix
No energy bars with fruit pieces
Salads are OK, but only in emergencies (because it's difficult to eat salad in a car)
Ranch dressing or vinaigrette on salads
Sandwiches are ideal
Never mayonnaise; he hates mayonnaise
Grilled fish or chicken
Nothing battered
Nothing fried
No fast food
No soda
No coffee
He likes to have orange juice or green tea in the morning" --

Hmmm... no mention of bacon or baby-back-ribs.. for that matter , anything PORK.

---
Online headline: "Mark Cuban explains why HGH should be legal in pro sports" -- You know.. use of HGH to promote faster healing has its merits.. but.. BUT, if "legalized", pro athletes would get prescriptions to use it whenever they stump a toe or get a charlie-horse. I'd be OK with it being legalized since it might promote better healing of an injury that will give a person a better recovery that will serve them well the rest of their life outside of playing,,BUT.. if the HGH is used, there should be some caveats.. like an additional 6-12 months "out-of-the-game-for-full-recovery" over the "traditionally expected recovery time..this would make for better decision to use it or not for minor injuries.

---
Online headline: "Study reveals the total cost of the Obama family's vacations" -- Hmmm.. two "little" details seem not to be mentioned... the costs of Michelle's separate vacations, the costs of the Obama's taking separate Air Force jets to the same destination, and the costs to NERO=bamageddon's "legacy".

---
HuffPOOPOO "headLIE": "Framing Obama's Democracy Promotion Legacy" -- Good grief.. we are a limited republic as define by our founding father's Constitution they provided, but NERO-bamageddon has gone way past the theory of a democracy as well.. he's for one-man-one-rule.

---
Online story: "In an ironic twist of the fate, the same bleeding-heart liberals who opened their South African farm to hundreds of Central African refugees who were allegedly fleeing “xenophobic violence” have themselves — along with their 10 children — been driven from their own home and threatened with murder." -- Hmmm.. there is no solitude in suburbia either....

---
Online story: "ATLANTA — Attorney General Sam Olens says Georgia cannot deny benefits to refugees from Syria, as ordered by Gov. Nathan Deal. * Deal's November exeuctive order called on President Obama to suspend the resettlement of Syrian refugees. It also directed state agencies not to assist in the processing of Syrians already in the state and to deny them access to services, such as Medicare and food stamps" --  Hmmm.. but, the Governor and State Houses can deny Olens funding..... and a future in politics.

---
Online headline/story: "Atlanta Streetcar fares start New Year's Day  *  New Year’s Eve will be the last day passengers will be able to ride the Atlanta Streetcar for free.  * The streetcar began operating at the end of last year, and originally was to have offered free rides only for the first few months. But Mayor Kasim Reed announced last March that the free rides would continue through Dec. 31 to allow officials at MARTA, which runs the service, to study various fare collection technologies. *  While riders will not have to present a ticket upon boarding a streetcar, fare enforcement officers will be making random checks for “proof of purchase” tickets. *  Atlanta received a $50 million federal grant to build the streetcar system to give conventioneers and tourists another way to get around the downtown area." -- Good grief.. where to start! I guess with the "grant".. libs think "grants" are free money, but we know they are simply "redistibution of wealth".  Hey, Trump.. stop "grants".. then there's the "free rides" while MARTA discusses how to "charge".. good grief.. how do plans get off the ground without feasibility studies on needs. costs. and revenue flow? Of course, Columbus can just look to the Aquatic Center here to understand that liberals don't feel financial planning is an important aspect of "good imtentions". And then,, expecting the Atlanta Streetcar to be a magnet for tourists and conventioneers... good grief.. all a contained transit vehicle represents to a  visitor in downtown Atlanta is a place where they will be hemmed in by thugs looking for victims.. stupid victims..

Online headline: "Here's The (Long) List Of Women Who Have Accused Bill Clinton Of Sexual Misconduct":
Paula Jones
Juanita Broaddrick
Kathleen Willey
Eileen Wellstone
Carolyn Moffet
Elizabeth Ward Grace
Becky Brown
Helen Dowdy
Cristy Zercher

And these are just the ones that have come forward..

---
From the "never thought we'd see this" department: Wow! Bill C. has been brought up on criminal charges for his crimes against women. Of course it's only Cosby, not Clinton.. probably because Cosby isn't a "good" liberal.

---
Online headline/story: " Harriet Tubman Wins Poll to Be the First Woman On the $20 Bill  *  The campaign to have a woman featured on the $20 bill revealed a winner Tuesday. * After a 10-week online poll, Harriet Tubman received 33.6 percent of the 352,431 votes cast in the final round, according to the nonprofit group Women On 20s. Over 600,000 people submitted votes" -- First.. Good grief.. an online poll of 10 weeks and only 600,000 votes? Secondly.. why is a US president the subject of a coupe?, and thirdly, if there should be a "bill" with a woman's face on it, shouldn't it a a bill worth $19.99?

---
Remember that "arson"case about a mosque in Houston, TX being set afire on Christmas Day, and how CAIR, the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations led a surge of claims of it being a :
"hate crime"? Well, the arsonist has been picked up, and guess what.. not only is he a devout Muslim.. he attends services at that mosque and has gone there for five years, coming five times per day to pray seven days per week.

---
I'm curious.. have you seen the picture of the flood waters covering that overhead light? How come someone in the City or at GA Power didn't cut the light off?

---

Incredibly stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "The candidate who wants to “Make America Great Again” has been endorsed by Putin. Most patriotic Americans would question this endorsement." -- Good grief.. it's as simple as a good football team wanting to play another good football team rather than the "junior varsity".

Online story: "Former New York Governor George Pataki on Tuesday ended his long-shot bid for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination. * "While tonight is the end of my journey for the White House as I suspend my campaign for president, I'm confident we can elect the right person, someone who will bring us together," said Pataki, who ranked at the bottom of the Republican pack in a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll" -- "suspend my campaign"? You know.. this is why Trump is appealing in spite of some of his awkward moments.. "suspend my campaign" is an establishment "tool" both parties "use" which enables elected bureaucrats to keep their "campaign accounts" open for additional donations/shenanigans in spite of no longer being a candidate.

---
From the above story: "Pataki's withdrawal is likely to have little impact on the Republican race, which still has 12 candidates. Billionaire businessman Donald Trump leads the field ahead of the opening contest on Feb. 1 in Iowa. *  Pataki has vowed not to support Trump if he is the Republican nominee for the November 2016 election, saying the real estate magnate is unfit to be president." -- Pataki has vowed not to support Trump if he is the Republican nominee "? That's pretty darn "p-tacky" considering the hoopla about Trump being asked to sign a pledge not to run as a third party candidate, and GOP chairman Reince Priebus needs to step up,, actually, "step down hard" on P-tacky.

---
Online headline: "Jeb Bush offers tips on how to take the perfect selfie" -- What Jb needs to do is take a "selfie-examination" of his campaign and message. He seems to be running only as a Republican alternative to JILLary rather than as a candidate FOR America's escape from Democratic Party crap.

---
Online headline: "Police lack training for growing, crucial type of crisis" -- Gimmee a break.. how does anyone get training of how to protect the public or themselves from "public stupidity"? That's basically what not obeying a police officer's orders during an armed or otherwise dangerous moment. NERO-bamageddon has crippled our military in combat regions by making them "wait: until "the enemy" takes the first shots before engaging in confrontation, but that doesn't work when a police officer is confronting "hatred" and "stupidity".

---
Online "headLIE": "TSA may soon reject driver's licenses as ID" -- Wrong! The TSA WILL start rejecting drivers' licenses from states that haven't upped their security methods used to make their drivers' licenses Also, the new standards were to be in effect by 2009, but the NERO-bamageddon administration has been moving back the deadline. Guess he doesn't want to seem to be in favor of secure drivers' licenses to be needed to vote in states that require photo-ID.. especially in IL, NY, and CA.

---
From the "hey parents, do you wonder why you're even sending your child to college" department: This billboard is being paid for out of "profits" from tuition money parents pay.. maybe the U of S. Dakota should spend that money on screening grammar professors.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the "sign of the times" department - Online story: "Virginia's Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe signed Executive Order 50 in October that says “open carry of firearms shall be prohibited in offices occupied by executive branch agencies, unless held by law enforcement, authorized security, or military personnel authorized to carry firearms in accordance with their duties.” He also called for new regulations to extend that to concealed weapons." -- Hmmm.. seems McAuliffe has little or no regard for Legislative or Judicial agency offices. It's also ironic about the "military exception"... military personnel can't carry their weapons in their own offices or even recruitment stations "in accordance with their duties".  Note.. one VA State Senator, Charles W. Carrico Sr, summed up the situation succinctly, "It’s easy for someone who is surrounded by armed state policemen to tell someone else they can’t carry a weapon to protect themselves,". Senator  Carrico has drafted an amendment to "defund" the governor's armed protection unit.

---
L-E "opinion piece" headline: "Project (Rapid Resolution Initiative) geared to help reduce jail population" -- Hmm.. as I see it, the best ways to reduce jail population is an effective death sentence process when called for, and for parents to take control of their children early on.

---
From the above item: "Ideally, information gleaned from the Muscogee County Jail Project will give local criminal justice officials what they need to keep that trend going in the right direction. This isn't about coddling lawbreakers. It's about protecting public safety more efficiently and affordably, and dealing with offenders more effectively." -- "Ideally"? Ideally, people will monitor theor own actions, but since this is about "protecting public safety more efficiently and affordably, and dealing with offenders more effectively". making a "too quick" assessment  about it's effectiveness is not in the best interest of the program... or, more importantly, the public's safety.

---
You know, when 75% of America is disappointed in how our government is being run, then both parties should take heed of the following that's turning to Trump. Even entrenched Congresspersons of either party shouldn't count on voter "party loyalty" in the 2016 elections.

---
Has anyone heard whether Chris Matthews leg feels a "tinkle" or a "tingle" on his leg when thinking about JILLary?

---
Hawaii has raised the age to buy tobacco products...even "vapes" to 21. Wow, Hawaii, just make it more attractive to high school teens to want to try them.

---
From the "what you don't hear" department: That 12 year old who was shot/killed in Cleveland...now we know the "kid" weighed 170 pounds and wore size 36 pants. That's why the policeman felt his life was threatened when a gun came out of his waist band.

---
Rabbi Yeckiel  Ekstein...you should be embarrassed...or kicked out! Why are you exploiting purported Russian Holocaust survivors by running ads for donations, when you could be using the money you're spending on ads and your $1 Million dollar plus salary to buy these wonderful people blankets and food.

L-E headline/story: "54 CAR BREAK-INS REPORTED DURING HOLIDAY  * Columbus residents would be well advised to clear all valuables out of their vehicles before leaving them unattended, as police here have amassed 54 reports of car break-ins since Christmas Day." -- Hey, L-E,, since this is an oft repeated occurrence.. post-Christmas "shopping", wouldn't you be a better citizen by reminding the public by mentioning this on the front page of the December 26th issue?

---
You know.. a lot of "exempt" facilities for property taxes should be willing to at least pay fees for certain city services... like police and fire protection.. places like hospitals, churches, and retirement facilities, even homes with certain full homestead exemptions could.. no, should be willing to pay some kind of consistent "fee" for fire and police services.

---
L-E's "Online comment of the day":  “To all toy makers and BB gun makers STOP making these guns look so REAL! Paint them all red so the Cops know the difference!” — by Nila Haidet Bynum on “Officer won’t face charges in Tamir Rice shooting death.” -- Good grief.. how about children respecting police officers's orders! How about neighborhoods and parents getting control of the actions of their children and neighbors! How about a unified support for the tough duties of police od=fficers are thrust into.. Now, Ms Bynum.. if you had a gun and a 170 pound person pointed anything that looked like a gun at you, wouldn't you take no chances at losing your own life?

L-E "story: "A year and a half after they started an effort to save the 147-year-old site of the city’s first public school for black children, leaders of the Friends of Historic Claflin gathered Tuesday in the Columbus Consolidated Government annex and signed the lease that allows their vision to come to fruition.  * “This is a monumental day for us,” said the Rev. Richard Jessie, the FHC’s executive director of restoration. “... We believe we are getting very close toward realizing a holistic educational complex in the form of Claflin." -- "147-year-old site"?  "close toward realizing a holistic educational complex "? Good grief. how often is the L-E going to support .. and repeat these absolute lies? Somebody must be mixing up the dates of Columbus' Claflin school and Claflin University in South Carolina...the first school created for black children in Columbus was near 1st Avenue between 12th & 13th Streets. (see picture of "Marker" designating the spot, and if there needs to be a "holistic educational complex", then there are a ton of unused (127 last year, and probably a few more than that this year) classrooms in the existing MCSD that could be used and a whole lot cheaper to start.

PS -- Hey, Peter Bowden at the Columbus Convention and Visitors Center,
Are y'all still distributing this brochure.. the one I contested about incorrect information that was backed up by Billy Winn's investigation some 15ish years ago?

The information about many of the "stops" is false. If this is still being distributed, y'all are ding a great disservice to Columbus.

Hal Kirven

Pic used in today's L-E story:

This is the real marker for the 1st site for a black school:

BTW,, who knows what :holistic education" is? "Holistic education is a philosophy of education based on the premise that each person finds identity, meaning, and purpose in life through connections to the community, to the natural world, and to humanitarian values such as compassion and peace."

The purpose of holistic education is to prepare students to meet the challenges of living as well as academics. Holistic education believes it is important for young people to learn:

About themselves.
About healthy relationships and pro-social behavior.
Social development.
Emotional development.
Resilience.
To see beauty, have awe, experience transcendence, and appreciate some sense of "truths."

Hmmm... These are what the real world considers things that parents should be teaching and instilling into their children.. AT HOME!

As for this being a curriculum in school,, there'd be a lot of social diplomas...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Columbus Consolidated Government announced it has not completed the garbage pickups on Monday and Tuesday, and are encouraging homeowners to leave it on the streets another day.. yeah, right, homeowners are going to wheel their trash back into their garages.. this is just another indication of Mayor TomLYINGson's lack of leadership and how-to of keeping Columbus clean with once-a-week-pickups.

L-E story: "Patrick Brown is on an improbable mission: Make a burger Americans love, minus the meat.
Veggie patties have been around for decades, but Brown and others want to make foods without animal products that look, cook and taste like the real thing — and can finally appeal to the masses. *   “We are not making a veggie burger. We’re creating meat without using animals,” said Brown, a former Stanford scientist who has been scanning plants in search of compounds that can help recreate meat." -- "We are not making a veggie burger."? BS! What he's not making is a "hamburger"! Why can't liberals just be happy creating something as an alternative for those who want a meatless sandwich.. why is it liberals aren't happy unless the real world sees things their way?

Enrichment Services Program in Columbus, GA.. whatta opportunity for ineptness and waste and fraud.. Last month, I published an ad ESP ran telling those who had applied for heating assistance appointments too early (at ESP's instructions) were void and they had to reapply Dec 1st. Today, there is another ad for making appointments for January 8th at Occasions Event Center on Victory Drive,,, why? Why at a event rental facility?.. ESP has an office at Cross Country on Macon Road.. Is Occasion Event Center donating its time and space? I sure hope so..Besides. who's been running their heaters the past two weeks?

Online story: "CHICAGO (Reuters) - Snow, sleet and hail snarled transportation across swaths of the United States on Monday during one of the busiest travel weeks, after dozens died in U.S. storms that were part of a wild worldwide weather system seen over the Christmas holiday period * Chicago-area airports were worst hit with hundreds of flights canceled as the city was swept by sleet and hail" -- Rumor has it Chicago's "favorite son", NERO-bamageddon, sent Rahm Emanuel a post card .."Don't you wish you were here?" from Hawaii.

---
Michelle Obama's brother Craig was finally fired after 6 years at Oregon State.. his teams had a 36-69 PAC 12 record. Don't worry for him though.. political correctness had him getting about a $1,000,000.00 per season and a buy out of $4,000.000.00. AS Mel Brooks would probably say.. It's nice to be the king... even the king's brother-in-law...Oh.. his replacement is now 9-2 for this year...but making less.

Online headline: "TSA to increase screenings for 1 particular group" -- Ooooops, my bad.. it's not bearded Muslims... it's TSA employees! Good grief.. adequate employee screening should have been done before hiring!

Online headline: "Researcher: Database of 191 million US voters exposed on Internet" -- Hmmm.. sounds dangerous that 191 country-wide voters are in one database... but.. as long as that many are available, the Federal Election Commission should cross reference voters social security numbers against deaths and check how many times each social security number has been used to register/vote in each state.

HuffPOOPOO headline: "U.S. Security Aid To Mexico Dwindles Amid Human Rights Abuses" -- Good grief.. we have actually been paying Mexico to keep security, but the total has dropped from $720 MILLION Bush43 used to $146 Million under NERO-Obamageddon.. no wonder there's no security on the Mexican side of the border where drug mules and illegal aliens cross unhindered. Trump is right.. simply by eliminating the funds given to Mexico, he can build a fence that Mexico will pay for.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Islamic State Issues Fatwa On How To Properly Rape Enslaved Women, Girls" -- Still.. NERO-bamageddon will not call them Islamist terrorists... This is a true war on women basically endorsed by the titular head of the Democratic Party.

Online headline/story: "Obama-Supporting Immigration Attorney Arrested for Fraud – " An Irving, TX immigration lawyer was arrested Friday morning on federal fraud charges for allegedly forging visa applications for illegal immigrants she represented, the U.S. attorney’s office said. * Sherin Thawer, 45, was arrested by agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations at her Coppell home, authorities said. * Sherin Thawer was invited to the Obama White House last year to discuss immigration reform." --  It's time for the ABA to step in and start cleaning house of lawyers who intentionally break their oath to support our Constitution court system.

Online headline:  " Chicago on edge after cops kill grandmother" -- You know.. this is a sad repercussion of a bad situation, but.... BUT.. why haven't grandmothers been upset at their children's children who are involved in street/drug warfare. The matriarchs and patriarchs have got to lead in the communities afflicted!

Pop Quiz: Guess What RELIGION Still Owns Black Slaves In The 21st Century?

---
So the new Star Wars movie grossed $1 BILLION the opening weekend. Let's parse that. Based on what local 2-D movie tickets cost, let's assess ticket costs nationally at $13.00 ($12.00 + $1.00 for Fandango), that's about 77,000 tickets. Considering that Star Wars fans and Sci-fi geeks probably saw it 2.5 times each, that means only about 31,000 people actually saw it.. that's about 1-in-10,000 Americans.

I'm curious....how does anyone expect a different policy about ISIS than NERO-bamageddon is implementing..when his only advisor, Valerie Jarrett and his former Secretary-of-State's is Huma Abedin-Weiner, are both Muslims, and his spiritual leader is Jeremiah Wright?

Online story: "Muscogee County, Georgia had a median household income of $44,603 in 2009 and $41,362 in 2014 after adjusting for inflation. That's a 7.3% decrease since the recession." -- And Mayor TomLYINGson wants to raise our taxes so she can keep the Natatorium open for the few that use it...

Here's a "map" where you can check out you own county's situation:

You know.. after failing to complete the Whittlesey Road widening project in the original time plus an additional 6 months, whether by the contractor or the GA DOT, all business owners should be compensated for the excessive hardship it is having on them, and will have for the next 6-12 months... or longer if the same pattern is kept.

In the "Letters" feature of the L-E, Walter Thorne, now of NYC, feels he has a grasp on what's god or bad for Colum bus and Harris County. he writes: " Important public officials such as Sheriff Jolley should protect citizens from government-sanctioned religious dogma from any faith. He is required to put the U.S. Constitution front and center when on the job. He is the highest police official in Harris County, and he should protect all its citizens from any government religious coercion and welcome any citizen or potential citizen, irrespective of religion, race or political philosophy." -- Hmmm.. wonder if Walter Thorne "feels" a Sharia Law practicing sheriff would be as protective of all religious rights/beliefs of non-Muslims as Sheriff Jolley is of all religious beliefs?

L-E headline: "Democrats continue frustrating search for Sen. Isakson opponent" -- Shoot.. just put Isakson on the Democratic Party ballot as well.. won't make much difference...

Several years ago, all the students at Carver High were given the use of notebook computers to take home as well as use in school. They were not "gifts" and the school system was responsible for them. I never did see the results of that project.. I know the computers would be pretty much obsolete by today, but what were the turn in factors and what has happened to them?

---
@015 L-E interview quote for MCSD Superintendent David Lewis: "   “My goal is for this district to become, as I have said from the beginning, the best in its comparison group, and beyond that to become one of the premier districts in Georgia. And beyond that, whatever national comparisons that are drawn from that, fine. We have the talent, we have great students here. And as I go around and visit the schools in our district, I see some fantastic teaching and learning going on in schools throughout our district. …” — Muscogee County School District Superintendent David Lewis"  -- " best in its comparison group"? Good grief.. does Lewis feel making an "F+" is something to shout about when comparing us to a similar group with "only" an "F".

----
Another "Top Story" that has not made the lists of two of the L-E's reporters is.. Ft Benning and it's potential loss of soldiers.. Huge story.. the L-E and the Mayor are just trying to ignore the facts.

---
Politics amaze me.. sadly Cuzzin Jimmy's 28 year old grandson suddenly died.. He's been under an array of testing in recent weeks and was prescribed on vitamins. He died from a massive heart attack.. You would think the tests run on him would have caught some sort of sign.. Of course, now we never will.. no autopsy was performed. God be with you Cuzzin Jummy and family.

---
From the "I find it strange" department.. the last two Sundays, the L-E's on real estate transactions story has been on the building permits issued in Harris County.. are Columbus' figures that dismal?

---
L-E story: "Former Alabama State football coach Reggie Barlow has agreed to be Carver’s new coach, said Carver’s principal Christopher Lindsey *   Lindsey confirmed the agreement in a text Saturday night. Lindsey said that the hiring was “unofficial until he clears through MCSD human resources.” Lindsey also said that could not happen until the holiday break is over on Jan. 4. *  The Carver position came open two weeks ago when Joseph Kegler said he would not remain as the football coach. He led the Tigers for three seasons, going 28-7 with two region championships, but the team was knocked out of the state playoffs in the first round each of the past two seasons. * The first-round exit this past season was especially troubling for Carver supporters. Drew, a No. 4 seed, routed Carver 70-34." -- "this past season was especially troubling for Carver supporters"? Hmm.. you know, Carver's football team ... and coach... had a much better season than the one the Carver principal had with the GA MIlestone Tests.. where are the disgruntled Carver education supporters?

Online headline: "Caitlyn Jenner is expecting another grandchild" -- Hmmm.. is she-it gonna be the "grandpaw or grandmaw"?

L-E story: "The Columbus Aquatic Center opened to great fanfare in 2013, with USA Pools being awarded an $825,000 contract to operate the facility. Eighteen months later, the city canceled the contract and put its parks and recreation department temporarily in charge of it until another private company could be found to take over.  * Another, as yet unidentified, company has been chosen to put before council, but its bid is $1.27 million annually. At the same time, the parks and rec department is saying it could take over operations permanently and do so for slightly less, $1.24 million. * At a recent council meeting, more than 100 local swimmers and supporters gathered to hear Parks and Rec Director James Worsley explain to councilors that, with the $825,000 budgeted for this fiscal year, he will have to cut back operations to 45 hours, down from 89." -- Let's "parse" a bit  If it takes $1,24 MILLION to operate at 89 hours, and $825K to operate 45 hours, then the 44 hours not staying open will save about $415,000.00 dollars.. that sorta means the 45 hours cost a shade more than $415.000.also.... say $425,000. That means that for 89 hours, that salaries/benefits would be about $840,000.00 .. That also means there's another "fixed cost" of  $400,000.00 for the building to "just sit there" ($1,240,000,0 - $840,000,00) running utility charges and interest on the .. what .. $13,000,000.00 spent building it (rather than outdoor Olympic-sized pools as voted on) Let's say that the 100 "swimmers" who showed up is 10% of the actual number of swimmers interested.. .. That would put ..say.. 1,000 swimmers available.. now, if those 1,000 want an 89 hour per week schedule to pick from then those 1,000 should be willing to fork over $840.00 EACH per year to pay for the operating cost of labor alone. We'd still be stuck with the $400,000.00 it costs "just sitting there".

---
From the above L-E 2015 recap story: "An area in which MCSD already has shown progress during Lewis' 2½-year tenure is in the graduation rates, which improved at every local high school, led by the only one that declined last year" -- Good grief.. how can the L-E operate on such blatant reporting of misinformation! Te ONLY reason that there is an increase in graduation rates is that the previously REQUIRED "graduation test" was ELIMINATED this year.. Shame on L-E editor Mike Owen for perpetuating this lie in this story!

---
Well, as long as we're on the subject of major stories of 2015.. there is a very positive one.. Mescon is gone from CSU and Columbus. Welcome Chris Markwood!

---
Oh, two obvious omissions are the number of murders and number of people shot that survived.. If murders haven't surpassed 2014's total, there are still a few more days to do so, and the number shot but survived has to be phenomenal! It seems like we had one or more in every edition of the L-E, but the L-E hasn't reported this number....... conveniently?

---
Oh. and let's not forget the opening of the Grand Queen TT Lounge under the 14th Street Bridge.. at this time, it seems that Quee Mayor "TT" TomLYINGson would hope that it has been forgotten... good grief// $244,000.00 ...well at least that's the reportable number but looking at the costs over runs of the Whittlesey Road widening project.. who knows.

---
Oh, and why isn't the time and cost problems of the Whittlesey Road widening project the Number 1 story pf 2015?

You know.. after failing to complete the Whittlesey Road widening project in the original time plus an additional 6 months, whether by the contractor or the GA DOT, all business owners should be compensated for the excessive hardship it is having on them, and will have for the next 6-12 months... or longer if the same pattern is kept.

---
Another story from the L-E recap of 2015: "The scores from the state's new and more rigorous standardized tests, the Georgia Milestones, showed mixed results for local school districts. Three-fourths of Muscogee County schools ranked below the state average on the overall scores" -- Good grief.. how can the L-E and MCSD be celebratory over a worse than 75% failure rate! An optimistic attitude is one thing, but a delusional one is totally unacceptable.

---
Another 2015 story in Columbus: "By 54 to 46 percent, Columbus voters passed the March referendum to renew the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax that expired Dec. 31. The new 1 percent sales tax, which went into effect July 1, will last for five years or until $192,185,000 is collected for 24 capital projects in the Muscogee County School District. The big-ticket items are a new Spencer High School ($56 million), district-wide technology upgrades ($34 million), district-wide facility needs ($28 million) and a multi-sport complex for district-wide use ($11 million)." -- Hmmm.. "big ticket items" ($56M + $34M + $28M + $11M) of $139M.. of which $56M for Spencer is totally unnecessary with the non-existent growth pattern of students, and the existence of 127 unused classrooms system wide. This waste is the story..

---
L-E Story: " 6. Gay marriage *  The change was not restricted to the military. It also came in full force to courthouses in Columbus and Phenix City hours after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on June 26 that such unions were legal in all 50 states.  * Muscogee County Probate Judge Marc D’Antonio was clear he will follow the law.  *  “If I am going to continue to do marriages, I can’t discriminate,” D’Antonio said. “I took an oath to follow the law of the land, and this is the law of the land now.”" --  "“I took an oath to follow the law of the land, and this is the law of the land now.”"... Hmmm.. so did NERO-bamageddon and Pric Holder, but that doesn't seem to bother their decisions...

---
You know.. two of the main writers, Owen and Williams, have posted their lists of Top Stories" fir 2015..neither considered  Mayor TomLYINGson stories "worthy" but I think  the  $244,000.00 Mayor/Queen "TT" TomLYINGson Lounge" and her continual assault on our tax freeze are huge.

---
Online headline/story: "ISIS leader says group is getting stronger in purported new message  *  (_*_)l-B(_*_)ghd(_*_)di warned the nations fighting ISIS that they would pay a price for participating in the war against the group. He also threatened Israel, promising that ISIS is "getting closer" to Israel every day.  * He called upon all Muslims to join the fight, claiming it was their Islamic duty." -- "called upon all Muslims to join in the fight"? Hmmm.. maybe ISIS just needs better branding.. maybe a trendy name change.. hmmm  "Muslim Lives Matter"?

---
HuffPOOPOO story: "MISSION, Texas (AP) — The seven children had just crossed the river, shoes still caked with mud, when U.S. Border Patrol agents stopped them. * The youngest was 6, Jon Smith Figueroa Acosta, he said, and he'd made the 2,000-mile journey from Honduras. He did not know to what city or state he was headed, but he had a phone number for his father in the United States." -- "7 children.... crossed the
river"? Good grief.. Surely a wall would stop this.. in fact. a wall on the Mexican side would be optimum.

---
From the 'why don't we leave the pertinent facts out" department: - Washington Post "story": "Although black men make up only 6 percent of the U.S. population, they account for 40 percent of the unarmed men shot to death by police this year," --

FBI's 2012 statistics:

:                                                                         TOT.   WH          BL          N.A.    Asian
Murder and non-negligent manslaughter: 8,506   4,101     4,203         102     100

                                                                           TOT.      WH         BL          N.A.   Asian
Percent distribution                                         100.0    48.2        49.4         1.2      1.2

WaPo.. if you're gonna talk "facts", talk all the facts!  The blackest of all lies is the half truth!

You know, G.I.JILLary has been around too long for anyone to consider her getting any voters in the general election who were "undecided" in the primary polls.

---
Online "story": "The most immediate and noticeable changes on Jan. 1 will be in wages. Some 12 states alone are expected to increase their minimum wages -- including California and Massachusetts, which are going up to $10 an hour. The District of Columbia was the first to exceed the $10 minimum, but several states have incremental plans to raise their wages even further by 2018. * Bill Scher, an activist and analyst for the Campaign for America’s Future, noted that despite unsuccessful attempts to raise the wage at the federal level, many states have acted. He claimed 2 million jobs have been created since the start of this year due to wage increases." -- "(Bill Scher) claimed 2 million jobs have been created since the start of this year due to wage increases"? Good grief.. Scher, nor anyone else can show documentation that a "wage increase" has EVER created a job! The job existed,, and perhaps a wah=ge increase created more interest in applicants, but the job existed BEFORE any wage hike.

---
From the "absolute proof" department - Online story: "American hostages who were held in Iran for 444 days between 1979 and 1981 are finally receiving compensation from the government for their time in captivity.  * The Washington Post reported Thursday that a provision in the omnibus spending bill signed by President Obama last week provided for up to $4.4 million to be paid to each of the 37 surviving hostages or the estates of 16 others who have died since their release. The Post reported that the law authorizes payments of up to $600,000 for each spouse or child of a hostage. * According to the Post, money for the compensation will come in part from a $9 billion penalty paid by the French bank BNP Paribas for violating sanctions prohibiting conducting business with Iran, Cuba, and Sudan.  *  Lawyers for the hostages told the paper they expect all the survivors or estates to ultimately be paid in full.  * "Iran is not paying the money, but it’s as close as you can get," one attorney, Thomas Lankford, told the Post" -- Yeah.. absolute proof that lawyers are in it for the money rather han justice.. There is no justice in making a France bank  be the "teat" when Iran is the culprit.. hey.. is this another deal brokered by Kerry?

---
Online story: "Authorities say a San Francisco Bay Area transit officer was shot in the arm by a fleeing suspect who was then shot by a second officer.  * Bay Area Rapid Transit spokeswoman Denisse Gonzalez says the officer suffered a non-life threatening wound in the Friday morning shooting. She did not know the suspect's condition. Neither the officer nor the suspect was identified." -- Hmm the suspect's "condition nor identity" has not been released.. hmmm... my guess is that he's a straight white male Republican American.. deductive reasoning tells me that because San Francisco is a "sanctuary city" for every other variable so only a straight white male Republican American coulkd be arrested there.

---
We're doing things backwards trying to improve the school results. Instead of looking at assistant superintendents from a successful school in another school district, let's recruit other school board members that have shown success in getting schools turned around in that district.

---
You know, we could probably get better results in recruiting successful business people to run for in future elections by offering better incentives to serve. Keep the current "pay", but give members "tax exemption" from the school portion of their property taxes. Somebody successful enough to own a home that generates $20,000.00 plus annually in property taxes would love to save the school tax portion of $12K plus.

---
Wow! Since 2000, only 10,000,000 new jobs have bee.created, yet 30,000,000 have been added to the food stamp roll.

---
You know, only when industry is looking for new and more skilled workers do wage increases actually help the economy. Also, it's this kind if lagging boost that actually creates value for the middle class.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Obama Gives Touching Holiday Tribute To The Troops  * KANEOHE BAY, Hawaii (AP) - President Barack Obama is one of the most powerful men in the world. He's commander in chief of one of its mightiest militaries, too.  * Yet in spite of all that, Obama feels inadequate from time to time. " -- "feels inadequate from time to time"? Yeah, I THINK from sun-up to sundown about covers it ..

From the "look what I found just browsing the Inet" department: Abraham Lincoln is the tallest person to serve as our President...at 6'4". Is it just me or have you noticed that NERO-bamageddon tries to protray himself taller than his 6'1" stature? Anyway, what I discovered by chance is that I'm taller than every one of our Presidents.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "The Sanders campaign is taking its fight with the DNC to the next level" -- Good grief.. the next level is the bottom of the barrel.. you'd think,,, at least "feel" that the DNC wouldn't want to advertise this.

---
Online headline: "Obama takes on grueling hike" -- "grueling hike"?  That's a bit of an oxymoron (but somehow that seem pretty appropriate for NERO-bamageddon) Hike is defined by Miriam-Webster as: "to walk a long distance especially for pleasure or exercise"  somehow "grueling" doesn't seem like an appropriate adjective.. Hmmm.. now, it we could get him to take that long distance pleasure walk of a short pier.....

---
Well.. it looks like G.I. JILLary has the lead in one poll for sure.. the top scandal of 2015...at least with America... even though Bernie said he was tired of it, her e-mail situation is not going away with the public...

---
L-E story: " The Muscogee County Probate Court has processed 2,860 weapons carry license applications this year, more than any previous year, according to court records.  *  In fact, the number of weapon carry license applications in Muscogee County has grown steadily over the past 10 years, with the two largest spikes coinciding with President Barack Obama’s election and reelection. * Ten years ago, applications were running around 800-850 a year, that crept up to 1,076 in 2007 then almost doubled to 1,999 in 2008. The numbers dropped back down and stayed between 1,600 and 1,900 until 2013 — the year Obama took office for his second term — when it spiked up to 2,703. It dipped back to 2,685 last year, but rose again to 2,860, an all-time record, this year." -- Hmmm... looks like the good guys are catching up to getting as many guns on the streets as are already carried illegally by criminals!

---
Wow! Did you see this "editorial page cartoon" in the L-E..
Subscriptions must be way down...again.. and they are starting to pray down there.

---
Online story: "Islamic State has sanctioned the harvesting of human organs in a previously undisclosed ruling by the group's Islamic scholars, raising concerns that the violent extremist group may be trafficking in body parts. * The ruling, contained in a January 31, 2015 document reviewed by Reuters, says taking organs from a living captive to save a Muslim's life, even if it is fatal for the captive, is permissible."  -- Must have been trained at Planned Parenthood's "partial birth abortion" classes.

---
You know.. if someone wants to celebrate Festivus or some other pagan holiday,, It's OK .... just do it some other time of the year than Christmas.. Christians don't mind every body celebrating Christmas, but we do like to celebrate it as we want..and invite everyone else to join us..

---
Taking a stand against "gun violence" is a good.thing..taking away "gun rights" supported by our Constitution is a different game.

---
Have you noticed that so-called liberal pundits seem more interested in demogoguing Trump than trying to convince us that G.I. JILLary is the best person for our next president.

---
Online story: "While many New Yorkers believe that the city is becoming more dangerous, statistics released this weekend once again show that the crime rate is actually down. " --  Remember when the warden in "Cool Hand Luke" said to "Luke", "What we have here is a failure to communicate."?  This is one of those moments as well. What NYC simply has is less arrests for crime as police are not as diligent because the Mayor de Bl(_*_)io's restrictions on their powers and support..

---
Online headline: "Key Democratic figure may return to the 2016 race * New reports released Sunday suggest a well-known politician may re-enter the race for the White House as an independent candidate." -- Circus time.. Independent Bernie Sanders is running as a Democrat, and Democrat Jim Webb may be running as n Independent..ho hum... Now when Biden decides to jump back in as the DNC "savior".. that will get interesting.. G.I. JILLary just cannot get "the base" behind her and there is no real inter-party battle by the other opponents. Webb's appearance in the one debate he was in reminded me of Ross Perot's VP choice of Admiral Stockdale who said Who am I? Why am I here?... but not as glib.

---
Online story: "Authorities in Costa Rica have begun deportation proceedings for 56 Cuban migrants who entered that Central American nation after it stopped issuing special transit visas for Cubans who are trying to get to the United States. *  Thousands of Cubans had been migrating through Central America in fear that the year-old warming in U.S.-Cuban relations could end the special immigration privileges Cubans have in the United States." --  "special immigration privileges"?.. Like 6-year old Elian Gonzalez whom Janet Reno's heavily armed "storm troopers" extracted from a closet in his great-uncle's Miami home, and deported him?

---
Online headline: "White House is preparing for catastrophic solar flares that could have devastating impact on Earth" -- So NERO-bamageddon does feel he's "god", and can stop catastrophes with his pen...Hmmm.. now that I think about it NERO-bamageddon  may have a point about his effect on catastrophes.. he's STARTED a few with his pen...

---
From the "I've been secretly wishing this would happen" department - This is self-explanatory: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMyd81rvEqY

You gotta love Trump.. when G.I. JILLary says the Republicans have a "war on women", mainscream media sorta "coughs" and looks away as in a hernia check.... but not Trump. Trump response that JILLary is basically the enabler,... the pimp for her husbands "sexual addiction" and indiscretions

---
After exhaustive search, my bride found a copy of Mike Gaymon's book, "A View from the Backhoe". Calling it a book may be a stretch, it's really 19 vignettes... ramblings about life experiences, but I have read the first 4, and am eager to get back to it and finish. Tis is my two-thumbs-up uncompensated endorsement!

---
L-E headline: "Relatives of 2 killed by Chicago police question shootings" -- While this is good, nothing is going to change in Chicago until "relatives" of the other 431 deaths not shot by Chicago police start asking questions and demanding a solution within their community.

The Breakfast Club resumes tomorrow (Monday, Dec 28, 2015)

Friday, December 25, 2015

Merry Christmas to all!

This is a pic of the Nativity that my grandmother glazed, painted and kiln fired about 60 years ago...

Enjoy..

Will be keeping up with whats going on, and resume  Breakfast Club editions on Monday!

Thanks for keeping informed and passing the word around!

HuffPOOPOO headline: "Beijing Tightens Security As Embassies Warn Of Terror Threats Against Westerners" -- Well, one of 294 American Embassies may be safe,, the rest are depending on NERO-bamageddon and Kerry to acknowledge and be prepared for radical Islam.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Beauty Queens and Geopolitics: Debating American Bases in the Philippines" -- Beauty Pageant final questions? So that's where liberals get their security information....

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Troublesome Leak Grounds NASA's Next Mission To Mars" -- Hmmm.. you know.. it would be nice if COMMON SENSE caused it!

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Susan Sarandon Answered Your Questions About The Refugee Crisis. Here Are Her Best Replies."-- ...............................................................nope............. not that one either........

---
Online story: "The folks over at Cornell University are worried about “inclusive seasonal displays.” That’s academic code for Christmas decorations.

Cornell warned students that some “winter holiday displays” are not consistent with the university’s “commitment to diversity and inclusiveness.”  *  Among the items on their naughty list are Nativity scenes, angels, crosses and mistletoe." -- "commitment to diversity and inclusiveness"? I guess that includes everyone but Christians?

---
A new poll says the majority of Americans are opposed to allowing Syrian refugees in...why is mainstream media surprised at this? Americans want to feel our government is trying to keep us safe, but NERO-bamageddon doesn't act like he wants any part of this, and mainstream media doesn't challenge him. It's also why crowds are drawn to Trump.

---
Online story: "Welcome to New York, where restaurant owners will no longer be allowed to require male diners to wear ties and gyms can’t tell men to get out of the women’s locker room or bathroom.  * They’re even trying to control business owners and employees’ free speech. Violators that call a woman “Ma’am” when she prefers “Sir,” could face up to $250,000 in fines per violation." -- "ma'am"? "sir"? In what part of New York City has this ever occurred? My memories of being "addressed" in NYC are "next", "move it, pal", and "you ain't from around here, are you".  And that was just from the people with their hands out for a tip or or holding a cup as they walked along the sidewalk.

---
Online story: "Senior Obama administration officials are expressing concern that congressional attempts to tighten laws preventing terrorists from entering the United States could violate the Iran nuclear agreement and prompt Tehran to walk away from the agreement."  -- Good grief.. Questions:.. Why does the king of liars even concerned? Iran isn't going to comply with its promises, and surely Iran doesn't think NERO-bamageddon will all of a suddenly start keeping his?

---
Soapbox Moment -- and from the "wanna bet this doesn't see the light of day in the L-E op-ed section?" department:
Yesterday.. the Columbus L-E did "mention" the additional delay for completion of the Whittlesey Road widening.. but that's all it did.. Where is the indignation the L-E should be showing as "watchdog" for the citizens of Columbus! It's a less than 3/4ths of a mile stretch.. what was bid out as 2 and a half year project is now going to take 2+ years more.. that seems ridiculous.. Is the Columbus L-E tap dancing around this because of the Columbus connections of the GA DOT and contractor? Why does anyone still advertise in the L-E?  Surely the L-E is not reaching the customers that advertisers want to reach, because.. if the L-E was concerned about its readers, the L-E would not be covering up (or "spinning") the failures of local government entities like the Mayor, or School District/Board, or the state connected road projects.. and more Columbus citizens would want to read the L-E to get the real story behind so many failures.

---
Totally stupid...oblivious to reality... LIV's L-E "soundoff": "The local initiative to reduce jail overcrowding is like a breath of fresh air. Too many innocent people are locked away. Provide treatment instead of a cold jail cell." -- "too many innocent people are locked away"? Hey, writer, name me one.. that's not related to you in some capacity.. oh, and get me 1 non-related person who will vouch for your objectiveness and truthfulness..

---
L-E story: " IOWA CITY, Iowa — A prominent lottery official who has run the Powerball game since its inception was quietly removed from his 28-year post leading the Multi-State Lottery Association after a jackpot-fixing scandal inside his organization had spread, according to a document obtained by The Associated Press.  * Charles Strutt, executive director of the association since its 1987 founding, was stripped of his duties in October by the group’s board, which includes directors of lotteries in 37 states and U.S. territories." -- Like winning the lottery.. one must think about what were the odds of cheating going on at top levels of the "the Lottery".. hmmm.. probably more eminent than somebody legitimately winning it... and the thing is.. one person could not have been able to do this without help.. The lottery itself needs all it's employees and board members to be fully audited back to day one.

---
L-E story: " The mystery deepened weeks later, when the public learned that casino mogul Sheldon Adelson’s family had purchased the paper in a secretive deal. And the questions only intensified, leading the Review-Journal to publish a front-page story about suspicions that the executives who were in talks with the Adelson family had attempted to use the paper to strike out at a judge handling a lawsuit against the wealthy political donor known as a Republican kingmaker. * On Tuesday, the Review-Journal editor who decided not to run anything on the three judges told the staff he was stepping down after accepting a voluntary buyout.
   *  Mike Hengel stunned the newsroom with his departure, which was announced Wednesday on the front page in an article that said an unspecified number of other employees had also accepted buyouts.  * “I think my resignation probably comes as a relief to the new owners,” Hen-gel said in an audio recording obtained by The Associated Press." -- The editor "thinks" his "resignation probably comes as a relief to the new owners"?  Good grief..since when does a new owner not have the right to summarily dismiss an editor.. for that matter, anyone working for him?

---
L-E's "Quotable": “Everything I like is either illegal, immoral or fattening." -  Alexander Woollcott American critic (1887-1942)" -- Hmmm.. Woolcott would have loved the modern liberals and their school lunch progarms.

---
Have you seen all the disturbances "Black Lives Matter" has wreaked on the Minneapolis area? And for what.. to prove that "no other Lives Matter"? Wow,, whatta way to win friends and influence goodwill.... NOT!

 Non-editorial cartoon  of  the year:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wednesday, December 23, 2015

Online story: "Virginia will no longer recognize concealed-carry handgun permits from 25 states that have reciprocity agreements with the state, effective Feb. 1, Attorney General Mark Herring said on Tuesday.
Virginia took the step because laws in those states are less restrictive, Herring's office said in a statement.  * Concealed permit rules approved by Virginia lawmakers "should not be undermined by wrongly recognizing permits from other states with more permissive standards," said Herring, a Democrat." -- The US Supreme Court ought to pluck this out on its own..  how can a State AG simply overrule dutifully enacted laws of his state and other states...and also take away the freedoms of Virginia's law abiding citizens from having the right to carry their guns in the 25 states that will no longer honor VA's law?

---
Online story: "A prominent Saudi cleric is being labeled a "Grinch" online for telling Muslims around the world that they shouldn't celebrate Christmas with Christian friends. Mohammad al-Arefe, who espouses the conservative Wahhabi strain of Islam, directed his condemnation of Christmas mainly towards Muslims living in Europe." -- My first question is how can devout Muslims celebrate Christmas to begin with? Secondly, how can devout Muslims even associate with Christians?

---
G.I. JILLary still won't apologize to Trump... so.. but who would believe it wasn't a lie if she did?

---
Mainscream media is pathetic... last year, mainscream media considered Republican Senator Cruz a pariah.. now it celebrates his challenge of Trump's lead among Republican candidates. Just one more indicator that Trump is the one we need.

---
Some former HuffPOOPOO writer has a list of "10 Great Cities for Raising a Family".. Columbus did not make it.. don't tell Mayor TomLYINGson.. she'll be depressed and blame it on the Tax Freeze.

---
Online headline: "Nestlé announces they, too, will transition to cage-free eggs" -- What a chicken-s*** way to announce an upcoming price incease

---
Did you know that the NFL is has a  "non-profit".tax status?.. what an oxymoron...

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Hikers Flip Out As Obama Climbs Up Grueling Hawaii Trail" -- Hmmm.. musta been a horrific slice to get him off the golf course.

---
HuffPOOPOO story: " A Secret Service agent had his gun, portable radio, badge and other items stolen from his personal vehicle in downtown Washington, police said.  *  According to a District of Columbia police report, the theft occurred shortly before 4 p.m. Monday outside a downtown office building, less than a block from the agency's headquarters. The agent parked his car and returned a few minutes later to find a window open and a bag missing, the report said." - Excuse me, but I cannot imagine Secret Service policy would allow even an off-duty agent to not have his badge and gun on him at all times he/she is in public.

---
Online story: "The Washington Post removed an editorial cartoon from its website late Tuesday that depicted Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz's young daughters as trained monkeys.  * As of midnight Wednesday, the webpage where the cartoon by Ann Telnaes had been shown was replaced by a note from the Post's editorial page editor, Fred Hiatt.  * "It’s generally been the policy of our editorial section to leave children out of it," Hiatt wrote. "I failed to look at this cartoon before it was published. I understand why Ann thought an exception to the policy was warranted in this case, but I do not agree." -- "depicted ...Cruz's young daughters as trained monkeys"? Good grief.. (_*_) Telnaes would have been vilified, and burned at the stake if she'd depicted NERO-bamageddon's children as monkeys... then fired.

---
Online headline: "Russia accused of killing at least 200 civilians since joining Syrian fight" -- You know.. maybe his will remove the "safety" ISIS feels it has by mingling in civilian groups, and maybe civilians will stop allowing ISIS to use them as shields. It's a war,, and mainscream media feels it can write the rules of war.. well, it can't...

---
Online story: "  A judge upheld Seattle's so-called gun violence tax Tuesday, rejecting a challenge from the National Rifle Association and other gun rights groups. * King County Superior Court Judge Palmer Robinson dismissed arguments that Seattle's tax, adopted last summer, exceeded the city's authority under state law.
 * The measure — one of only a couple of its kind in the nation — adds $25 to the price of each firearm sold in the city, plus 2 or 5 cents per round of ammunition, depending on the type. Officials expect it to raise up to $500,000 a year to help offset the costs of gun violence. The measure is set to take effect next month." -- Good grief.. this is an example of what trickles down to local judges when the president and attorney general arbitrarily decide which laws they want to ignore, enforce or inflict on the citizens of America.. No appeals court is going to uphold it, and Seattle gun shop owners will be able to sue for real damages after their Seattle customers go outside the city to make ammo/gun purchases..

---
Hmmm..an appeals court has ruled the ban on the Washington's NFL team using "Redskins" violates the 1st Amendment. Rumor has it that NERO-bamageddon responded, "So.".

---
Online story: "When CNN reported on the article by running the headline, “Obama cites not watching cable news for failure to recognize terrorism fears,” the New York Times realized how stupid this made the President look. * By the next morning, that entire quotation was removed from the article. *  The quote in question from the NYT piece was: "In his meeting with the columnists, Mr. Obama indicated that he did not see enough cable television to fully appreciate the anxiety after the attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, and made clear that he plans to step up his public arguments." *  When CNN reported on the article by running the headline, “Obama cites not watching cable news for failure to recognize terrorism fears,” the New York Times realized how stupid this made the President look.  * By the next morning, that entire quotation was removed from the article." --  Hmmm.. looks like both NERO-bamageddon and G.I. JILLary are going to have to strengthen the Kool-Aid they provide for mainscream media.. seems that mainscream media has built up its resistance/tolerance to the normal mixture.

---
From the "were you aware of this" department: For the 5th anniversary remembrance in 2006, Putin and Russia presented a memorial monument to 9-11-01 victims and gave it to New Jersey to place on a point overlooking the Statue of Liberty? It's actually a poignant and gripping work.. where was mainscream media ?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Online headline: "Even Huffington Post Says Hillary Clinton’s Donald Trump/Islamic State Claim Is BOGUS" -- Hmmm quite a flip-flop from the HuffPOOPOO's headline from MOnday when it said it wasn't true ..."Not Yet" anyway.

---
What a rock upturned.. Following G.I. JILLary's claims of Trump being in ISIS videos, an ISIS video has been uncovered showing NERO-gbamageddon, Kerry and her hubby, Bill in a propaganda piece.. God is good, all the time"

Online story: "The city of Augusta isn’t the only local government affected by a multimillion-dollar sales tax overpayment by an aircraft maintenance business. * Richmond County schools will be on the hook for about $1.86 million, plus interest, from education sales tax funds, said Kaden Jacobs, the school system’s communication and community engagement manager. * City officials learned Thursday from the Georgia Department of Revenue that the aircraft business had paid penny sales taxes on exempt aircraft parts by as much as $7 million and was demanding a refund." -- Don't you know brains are churning in every GA business where LOSTs.SPLOSTs, and T-SPLOSTs are in force? Especiallt here in Columbus where we have 4 such aberrations..

---
Naively stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " I welcome every person from Harris County to Columbus on any day. Every dollar you spend here helps pave my roads and send my kids to school." -- Hmm.. first of all, Harris County benefits more from the T-SPLOST tax than Muscogee County does.. and this LIV doesn't realize he/she is paying a lot more in LOST/SPLOST and T-SPLOST taxes than the average Harris County consumer, because everything Columbus folks buy daily is being charged...In addition, Harris County folks pay less, considerably less, in property taxes for school and have better results.. and then there are those who send their kids to Columbus High by using false addresses while taking away a spot for a Columbus student to go there.
---
That woman who caused several wrecks Saturday night that also killed a 7 year old boy was arraigned yesterday.. one of the charges is auto-theft.. I'm curious as to how the car theft charge was made.. The woman was naked, but I assume she had a key as her condition pretty much rules out she was able to "hotwire" it, so it appears that either the car was left running somewhere, or that she was in an apt/condo in a state of nakedness and grabbed a car key as she fled. L-E story: "WHITTLESEY ROAD CONSTRUCTION * The long-running Whittlesey Road widening project will not be completed until June or July due to unforeseen problems, primarily related to utilities, according to state DOT board member Sam Wellborn.” We’ve run into a number of problems getting it finished,” Wellborn said. “But we’re back on track and it should be finished in June or July.” The construction project began in fall 2012 and was estimated to take about 2 ½ years to complete." -- "primarily related to utilities"? Where did this lie materialize.. out of the G.I. JILLary reserve? The company was already given an extra 6 months (which expired at the end of October) plus an additional $1,000,000+ dollars.. it's time to make some changes that favor the taxpayers!  Sadly, if what is materializing to be the eventual outcome, it's a mess!

Hmmm.. if "Bartlett's  Familiar Quotations" ever does a pictorial version for use in public school remedial reading classes, I imagine "Two wrongs don't make a right: will be depicted by:

>

Billy Graham is greater than JILLary and; NERO-bamageddon.
a.k.a. : Two wrongs don't make a right,

Yesterday morning, I caught the tail end of a Navy seaman's rendition of the "Star Spangled Banner" on Fox and Friends. I didn't see the intro so I'm not sure of the circumstance for this event, but it was beautiful and reassuring.. I think.. even "feel", that as long as OUR military is proud enough to sing about and salute our Flag, we can overcome anything Obamageddon throws at us.

---
Online headline: "'Hell no': Clinton won't apologize for Trump comment: -- Doh! Besides asking any liar to do so , well, any sincerity  would be .. well, you  know,, a LIE! It's what she is. it's what she does...

---
Online "headLIE": "Chelsea Clinton is pregnant with baby #2" -- "baby #2"? .... "baby"?..  Hey G.I. JILLary.. how come Chelsea is pregnant with a "baby" rather than just carrying a "fetus"?

---
Hmmm.. wonder if G.I. JILLary will send Chelsea to Planned Parenthood for pregnancy care and advice?

---
Senator Lindsey Graham was withdrawn from the Republican candidacy..Senator McCain quickly grabbed a microphone and repeated his praises..You know, that alone handicapped Graham..let's hope McCain and other establishment Republicans don't recognize that if McCain endorses Trump, Trump will become irrelevant.

---
Online story: "Republicans on Monday blasted Secretary of State John Kerry for suggesting in a letter to his Iranian counterpart that the administration could help the country get around new visa restrictions passed by Congress." -- Good grief.. We need Trump as president just to hear him tell Kerry, "You're FIRED!"...

---
I thought my current moniker for the president, Obamageddon, would carry me through the rest of his time in.the Oval Office. I now see it needs more pinpoint accuracy. Now I'm going to expand it by adding a previously used prefix..now it will be "NERO-bamageddon...since he keeps "fiddling" as the world burns.

---
One of NERO-bamageddon's truth assassinators is trying to convince himself as well as others that NERO-bamageddon is spot on at calming America's anxiety by being nonchalant about terrorism. What BS! America wants leadership and NERO-bamageddon cannot deliver this.

---
Jeb16 says he prefers to be behind in the primary race ..hmmm, well he's certainly gotten his wish for. Christmas. Of course he would have said he prefers to be in the lead if he had it.

---
Has anyone ever asked Louis Farrakhan why he formed re Nation of Islam? Seems to me he would not want to associate with Muslims since Muslims controlled the slave trade in Africa that provided slaves to America.

---
G.I. JILLary is in deep dodo..with all the lies, and the daggers that she, the other Republicans, and mainstream media are throwing at Trump while her faults are pretty much hidden in the shadows, and she still can't get a majority of those polled by mainstream media to give her 50% of the vote, she's not going to win in November of 2016.

---
Mainstream media folks are trying to control the November 2016 election results by claiming that Trump "cannot" beat G.I. JILLary, so Republicans should postulate and put up someone else against her. Me..I want to see Trump on he ballot...there are still 57% of voters that don't trust/approve of JILLary..

---
I can already see the "advertisement of the year" for 2017... picture this.. NERO-bamageddon's face/name drawn on an old-timey slate  school chalkboard... suddenly the "Sparkle Fairy" appears with their new product.. "Sparkle" toilet paper.. She looks at the picture and name, then wads up some Sparkle TP and erases them. The narrator comments.. Sparkle...when it's time to wipe the slate clean"

---
Online story: "A manger and a banner reading “Merry Christmas” were removed from a public area of the Audie Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio, Texas after someone complained about “overly religious and offensive” decorations." -- Good grief.. there probably isn't a veteran alive.. dead for that matter, that didn't have a relationship with God while in combat, and some (_*_) bureaucrat decides to remove the one thing they probably all identify with.....

---
Online story: "President Obama used a radio interview to accuse Donald Trump of “exploiting” economic woes to tap into voter “fear” and “frustration,” in some of his most direct criticism to date of the Republican primary front-runner seeking to replace him." -- "exploiting economic woes"?  Just because a presidential candidate tells the truth about NERO-bamageddon's woes not mean he is "exploiting" them.. he's just reporting the truth. Now..since NERO-bamageddon has joined in the "dump Trump" action,  is there anything else that you need to convince yourself we need Trump in the Oval Office?

---
Incredibly insensitive and stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "I challenge one of you Republicans to walk up to a homeless veteran and say he or she deserves it." -- "deserves it"? I imagine this Dimocrat is talking about the ineptitude and waste by the NERO-bamageddon appointed VA Administration that had nothing to do with Republicans...

Please take a moment of silence in sympathy with Jimmy Carter and family. Just weeks after his announcement of being "cancer free", his grandson Jeremy Carter died at the age of 28. Reasons are unknown at this time, but even knowing the reasons doesn't ease the pain. I have oft commented candidly about Cuzzin Jimmy in the past, but am in full sympathy with him today. God is good, and Jimmy and I KNOW this.

New Orleans is trying to remove historic monuments from sight.. One, the Crescent City White League, I understand.. that was a post Civil War Democratic Party organization that wanted to return New Orleans to segregation, and rid NOLA of Republican politicians.

Internet quick search:

People Ask: What was the purpose of the Crescent City White League? Answer: The White League was an American white paramilitary group started in 1874 to turn Republicans out of office and intimidate freedmen from voting and political organizing.

G.I.JILLary says Trump is telling biggest recruitment incentive for ISIS...Wrong! If ISIS feared America, as it should, Trump's attraction to American voters would have ebbed. No, ISIS's boldness is attributable to the image of weakness projected by President Obamageddon and ex-Secretary of State JILLary.

---
Online story: "In Saturday night's 3rd Democratic debate, Hillary Clinton sought to emphasize her line that Donald Trump has become "ISIS's best recruiter" by suggesting that the extremist group was using Trump in their recruiting videos, a claim which has now been widely discredited by fact-checkers and ISIS experts, and which prompted Trump to call Clinton a liar on the Sunday morning talk-show circuit." -- Trump called Clinton a liar? Tell us something every Democrat and mainscream media wonk doesn't know ... and will still vote for her.

---
From the" HuffPOOPOO version" department - HufPOOPOO Headline/story: "Hillary Clinton's Claim That Donald Trump Is In ISIS Recruiting Videos Isn't True. Not Yet, At Least. * Experts say that it's likely he'll appear in future ISIS recruitment materials. *  Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton stretched the truth a bit during Saturday's primary debate, when she claimed that the self-described Islamic State, or ISIS, has used real estate mogul Donald Trump in its recruitment effort" -- "isn't true. Not Yet"?  "stretched the truth"? Good grief... Now that marijuana is pretty much available, I wish Congress would ban Kool-Aid! I'd rather see Democrats go to the ballots high on marijuana than still hung over from Kool-Aid binge drinking. ...
PS - it would probably help mainscream media bias as well.

---
HuffPOOPOO "headLIE": "The World's First Website Went Online 25 Years Ago * The World Wide Web was invented by British scientist Tim Berners-Lee." -- It has to be a "headLIE"... Algore said he invented the Internet.. I guess when he was in collage and he and Tipper were the inspiration for Erich Segal's book/movie "Love Story". Heh heh heh .. actually this is a "headLIE".. Though Berners-Lee "announced " his Tim Berners-Lee's World Wide Web, the site went online at CERN on December 20, 1990., it isn't the date this  website went public (that happened several months later on August 6, 1991).

Good grief.. emcee Steve Harvey crowned the wrong woman at the Miss Universe contest last night.. the crown was given wrongfully to Miss Colombia, then ren[moved and given to Miss Philippines. Thank goodness it wasn't Miss USA who was part of the confusion.. otherwise, LA, Chicago, and NYC would be in shambles this morning. Hmmm.. wonder what kind of deal Trump could make to buy the pageant back at a discount?

---
Hmmm.. you know, if Trump doesn't win in 2016, he can always start "The Celebrity Apprentice" show back up.. I can see the first show already.. Steve Harvey wals on stage and before he takes a chair, Trump says, "You're Fired!

---
Online story: " A woman intentionally swerved her car onto a busy sidewalk two or three times Sunday and mowed down people outside a Las Vegas casino, killing one person and injuring at least 30 others, police said. *  Police are reviewing video from casino-hotel surveillance cameras, Capt. Brett Zimmerman said. "We know this was not an act of terrorism," he said." -- "not an act of terrorism"? Good grief.. tell that to the victims and their families ... I'd feel "terrorized"! Terrorism is not limited to jihadist...

---
Online sory: "Puerto Rico may be looking for a new beauty queen after 20-year-old Destiny Velez fired off a round of offensive tweets about Muslims.  * The former beauty contestant sent several tweets to filmmaker Michael Moore after he posted a tweet with the hashtag #WeAreAllMuslim on Thursday * It didn't take long for the Miss Puerto Rico Organization to criticize Velez's actions. *  Her Twitter account has since been disabled but she reportedly sent several tweets including one that said, "Muslims use our constitution to terrorize USA & plant gas stations."  * The group released a statement on Facebook that reads in part, "Miss Velez's actions were in contradiction to the organization, and therefore as a consequence of her actions, she has been suspended indefinitely." -- Hmm.. wonder if her replacement will wear a burqa?  You know.. it's sad.. no.. it's devastating that the truth gets you impaled by media and government...we need "hope and change" ... make America great again.. Trump is right!

---
Online headline: "Place in US where millenials make the most money * Researchers surveyed hundreds of millennials in all 51 states, and their results may surprise you." -- "surveyed hundreds... in all 51 states"? I know how we could get filthy rich.. going to mainscream media headquarters and selling them maps and globes with the 51 states on them based on them currently using out-of-date information.. I bet we could probably lease them studio space in the 51 state since they obviously have none now.

---
Online story: "SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- The nation's most polluted nuclear weapons production site is now its newest national park. * Thousands of people are expected next year to tour the Hanford Nuclear Reservation, home of the world's first full-sized nuclear reactor, near Richland, about 200 miles east of Seattle in south-central Washington. * They won't be allowed anywhere near the nation's largest collection of toxic radioactive waste. * "Everything is clean and perfectly safe," said Colleen French, the U.S. Department of Energy's program manager for the Hanford park. "Any radioactive materials are miles away." -- "Everything is clean and perfectly safe," said Colleen French, the U.S. Department of Energy's program manager for the Hanford park"?  Good grief.. this is the government Ronald Reagan warned us about when he pronounced  the  " most terrifying words in the English language ".... "I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

Oh! How about moving the World's Clean Energy conference there? Or since it's "safe", maybe build a Presidential Library/Golf Course there for Obamageddon's legacy?

L-E Sunday editorial headline/point:
"The Muslim community of Masjid AlJannah and Masjid AnNur of Columbus, Georgia, categorically denounces and condemns terrorism in all its forms. We express our profound sympathies and condolences to the families of the recent atrocities any Muslim who plans, attempts or carries out a terrorist attack would be acting outside the boundaries of his or her faith and would be renounced and condemned by our community. We encourage Muslims in America and throughout the world to actively oppose and expose these un-Islamic individuals and death cults.  *   The ugliness has already hit too close to home: Just last weekend, somebody scrawled graffiti, including profanities and the word "terrorist," on windows and outside walls of the Islamic Center of Macon. Worse has been reported around the country in the wake of the Paris and California terror attacks by radical Islamists."  --

Just as it's wrong to blame all Muslims for "allowing" radicals to besmirch Muslims as a whole; it's just as wrong to blame any non-Muslim for being frustrated to the point of cowardly vandalism. Let's place the blame where it belongs,, lack of leadership in the White House. America's respect from 3rd World countries has been destroyed by lackadaisical responses from our president, and even our allies feel betrayed by the president. To boot, there's no leader within the Democratic Party who can.. for that matter, who cares to restore America's leadership. If we take care if the leadership problem, other problems will take care of themselves. It's also wrong to think Mayor TomLYINGson can help... leadership.. well .. lack of it,  trickles down from the White House's Democratic Party head.

---
Online headline: "Study says attacks on US mosques at 5-year high" -- I suppose so...when Obamageddon calls acts of terrorism "work place violence" - and will not call ISIS "radical Islamists".. (for that matter, won't even call "ISIS".. ISIS) , and US Muslim groups appear not to be doing anything to disassociate themselves from the terrorists, people are going to react in ways that are, well, "reactionary" out of frustration and ignorance...

Online headline: "Sanders apologizes to Clinton, supporters for data breach" -- Good grief.. it's G.I. JILLary that need to apologize to America!  If "low level" staffers can "access" JILLary's files, then we know intelligence seeking entities have all the top secret/classified e-mail info she had on her servers..

---
From the above story: "The Democratic National Committee maintains a trove of voter information. The campaigns can add to that database — information they use to target voters and anticipate what issues might motivate them.  * In Clinton's case, campaign manager Robby Mook said that information included "fundamental parts of our strategy." Clinton aides said four Sanders workers reviewed in information in 25 separate searches that included details on voter turnout and candidate preferences, revealing the Clinton campaign's approach in early voting states such as Iowa and New Hampshire. *  Sanders' campaign fired a worker involved in the data breach, and campaign manager Jeff Weaver admitted that the worker's actions were "unacceptable."  * But the campaign rejected the allegations the Sanders team stole data, and it sued the DNC to regain access to the voter information." -- This is quite revealing.. the DNC is favoring JILLary rather than providing all the info freely..equally,  to all the Democratic Party candidates, and JILLary still cannot establish herself as the Democratic voters unified preference even though the only two other choices are only there to have on the stage so she doesn't have only "the truth" to debate.

---
Also from the above story: Recapping a graph included showing the popularity among Democrat voters finds more damaging date for JILLary....On January 1st, she already had 61.7% of the "base". It grew to a high of 67.6% in March, but had drifted down to 63.3% by July 4th.  It plunged to a low of 40,8% in late September ( Biden and Bernie combined for 47.7% at that time), but had climbed back to a post-Biden-departure in early December, but has dropped back down to 55.9% leding into Saturday night's debate. On the other hand, Bernie.. scruffy Independent socialist from Vermont who declared himself a Democrat last year so he could run in the Dem's primary, began 2015 with but 3.6% of "the base". By July 4th, he'd moved up to 12.7% then has had a steady rise since. He reached 27.6%  (and more than the still speculating Biden entry), and now stands at 30.8%. Yes, JILLary is still not rock solid with the 'yellow dog" Dems.. and believe me or not..BTW.. I do not think Biden is out of the picture.

---
Online headline: "Bush fires back at Trump for calling him 'dumb'" -- Hmmm that WAS "dumb" of Bush.. Trump IS right.

---
Incredibly more stupid than anything Jonathan Gruber ever said  about a LIV's opinion voiced as an L-E "soundoff": "We, Democrats, are tired of defending your life and liberties while you listen to every Republican who espouses hate against people they neither know nor try to." -- We have got to scrap our public education system and start over.. we cannot allow such stupidity to be passed along to another generation of children. This idiot's choice of safety leadership is downsizing our military personnel to 450,000.. 450,000 is one soldier for every 666 (sign of the beast?) in America's population of 300,000,000. On a local basis, that would mean 300 law enforcement officers would be adequate, and we know 3 time that amount cannot keep our streets safe... from our own street criminals..

L-E headline/story: "COST FOR BUILDING OF NEW MARKET TOPS $7M *  The price of building a Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market is materializing in real-estate circles, with the coming store on Buena Vista Road in Columbus costing more than $7.1 million for land acquisition and construction.  *     The sales price for what amounts to about 9.4 acres was $3,395,000  *  City building permits for the 42,436-square-foot neighborhood market — a full-line grocery store — list Polestar Development as the owner, with construction costing $3,753,464." -- Hmmm let's parse and compare this to the MCSD projected "SPLOST" project building costs and one particular piece of property the MCSD owns...  first Wlamarts has bought land on Buena Vista Road a well developed and price consistent area.. Walmarts acquired its 9.4 acres at a cost of $361,170.00 per acre.. The MCSD OWNS 44-plus acres off Whiteville Road which it uses for maintenance and junkyard for school buses.. properties in that area have already exceeded $1,000,000.00 an acre.. and judging by what Walmarts was willing to pay for the Buena Vista Road property, the MCSD property may be worth double the million dollar comparison price..SELL! Secondly.. Walmart is building an energy efficient, hi-tech market building for  $3,753,464.00 for 42,436 sq ft. That's less than $88.50 a square foot.. The MCSD  is building a number of wrestling/weight room.. metal shells on concrete slabs at an estimated $312.00 a square foot.. no special insulation, no special technology.. basically small barns.. Tell me we don't need.. no, DESERVE, a forensic audit of all MCSD accounts.. and it should be initiated by our MCSB members.

L-E headline/story: "Woman faces 18 charges after boy dies in wreck  *  A woman is facing 18 charges after a 7-year-old Phenix City boy died in a car wreck Saturday in Columbus, officials said.  * According to a police report, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Veterans Parkway and Moon Road at 8:31 p.m. after receiving a report of a crash with injuries. * Ayden Kitchens was pronounced dead at 9:07 p.m. at Midtown Medical Center after suffering traumatic head injuries, Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan said.  * Kathryn A. Adams, who was driving another car other than the one Kitchens was riding in, was arrested in connection with the fatal wreck and two others. Details about the other crashes were not available. * According to the Muscogee County Jail, Adams faces 18 charges including murder, homicide by vehicle, theft by taking motor vehicle, DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. * She is scheduled to appear in Columbus Recorder’s Court Tuesday at 2 p.m." -- I don't know where to start with the pathetic nature of the reporting of this story.. the driver hit, and destroyed several vehicles.. (one driver's car is known to this writer). It happened about 8:30 Saturday night, yet was not mentioned by this "newspaper" in Sunday AM's edition (print nor electronic versions), even though somebody stayed up at the L-E to report on the Democrat Debacle.. uh, Debate. We subscribers deserve better from the L-E.
