I'm baaccckkkk!!!!!

---

L-E headline: "Democrats continue frustrating search for Sen. Isakson opponent" -- Shoot.. just put Isakson on the Democratic Party ballot as well.. won't make much difference...

---
Several years ago, all the students at Carver High were given the use of notebook computers to take home as well as use in school. They were not "gifts" and the school system was responsible for them. I never did see the results of that project.. I know the computers would be pretty much obsolete by today, but what were the turn in factors and what has happened to them?

---
@015 L-E interview quote for MCSD Superintendent David Lewis: "   “My goal is for this district to become, as I have said from the beginning, the best in its comparison group, and beyond that to become one of the premier districts in Georgia. And beyond that, whatever national comparisons that are drawn from that, fine. We have the talent, we have great students here. And as I go around and visit the schools in our district, I see some fantastic teaching and learning going on in schools throughout our district. …” — Muscogee County School District Superintendent David Lewis"  -- " best in its comparison group"? Good grief.. does Lewis feel making an "F+" is something to shout about when comparing us to a similar group with "only" an "F".

----
Another "Top Story" that has not made the lists of two of the L-E's reporters is.. Ft Benning and it's potential loss of soldiers.. Huge story.. the L-E and the Mayor are just trying to ignore the facts.

---
Politics amaze me.. sadly Cuzzin Jimmy's 28 year old grandson suddenly died.. He's been under an array of testing in recent weeks and was prescribed on vitamins. He died from a massive heart attack.. You would think the tests run on him would have caught some sort of sign.. Of course, now we never will.. no autopsy was performed. God be with you Cuzzin Jummy and family.

---
From the "I find it strange" department.. the last two Sundays, the L-E's on real estate transactions story has been on the building permits issued in Harris County.. are Columbus' figures that dismal?

---
L-E story: "Former Alabama State football coach Reggie Barlow has agreed to be Carver’s new coach, said Carver’s principal Christopher Lindsey *   Lindsey confirmed the agreement in a text Saturday night. Lindsey said that the hiring was “unofficial until he clears through MCSD human resources.” Lindsey also said that could not happen until the holiday break is over on Jan. 4. *  The Carver position came open two weeks ago when Joseph Kegler said he would not remain as the football coach. He led the Tigers for three seasons, going 28-7 with two region championships, but the team was knocked out of the state playoffs in the first round each of the past two seasons. * The first-round exit this past season was especially troubling for Carver supporters. Drew, a No. 4 seed, routed Carver 70-34." -- "this past season was especially troubling for Carver supporters"? Hmm.. you know, Carver's football team ... and coach... had a much better season than the one the Carver principal had with the GA MIlestone Tests.. where are the disgruntled Carver education supporters?

---
Online headline: "Caitlyn Jenner is expecting another grandchild" -- Hmmm.. is she-it gonna be the "grandpaw or grandmaw"?

---
L-E story: "The Columbus Aquatic Center opened to great fanfare in 2013, with USA Pools being awarded an $825,000 contract to operate the facility. Eighteen months later, the city canceled the contract and put its parks and recreation department temporarily in charge of it until another private company could be found to take over.  * Another, as yet unidentified, company has been chosen to put before council, but its bid is $1.27 million annually. At the same time, the parks and rec department is saying it could take over operations permanently and do so for slightly less, $1.24 million. * At a recent council meeting, more than 100 local swimmers and supporters gathered to hear Parks and Rec Director James Worsley explain to councilors that, with the $825,000 budgeted for this fiscal year, he will have to cut back operations to 45 hours, down from 89." -- Let's "parse" a bit  If it takes $1,24 MILLION to operate at 89 hours, and $825K to operate 45 hours, then the 44 hours not staying open will save about $415,000.00 dollars.. that sorta means the 45 hours cost a shade more than $415.000.also.... say $425,000. That means that for 89 hours, that salaries/benefits would be about $840,000.00 .. That also means there's another "fixed cost" of  $400,000.00 for the building to "just sit there" ($1,240,000,0 - $840,000,00) running utility charges and interest on the .. what .. $13,000,000.00 spent building it (rather than outdoor Olympic-sized pools as voted on) Let's say that the 100 "swimmers" who showed up is 10% of the actual number of swimmers interested.. .. That would put ..say.. 1,000 swimmers available.. now, if those 1,000 want an 89 hour per week schedule to pick from then those 1,000 should be willing to fork over $840.00 EACH per year to pay for the operating cost of labor alone. We'd still be stuck with the $400,000.00 it costs "just sitting there".

---
From the above L-E 2015 recap story: "An area in which MCSD already has shown progress during Lewis' 2½-year tenure is in the graduation rates, which improved at every local high school, led by the only one that declined last year" -- Good grief.. how can the L-E operate on such blatant reporting of misinformation! Te ONLY reason that there is an increase in graduation rates is that the previously REQUIRED "graduation test" was ELIMINATED this year.. Shame on L-E editor Mike Owen for perpetuating this lie in this story!

---
Well, as long as we're on the subject of major stories of 2015.. there is a very positive one.. Mescon is gone from CSU and Columbus. Welcome Chris Markwood!

---
Oh, two obvious omissions are the number of murders and number of people shot that survived.. If murders haven't surpassed 2014's total, there are still a few more days to do so, and the number shot but survived has to be phenomenal! It seems like we had one or more in every edition of the L-E, but the L-E hasn't reported this number....... conveniently?

---
Oh. and let's not forget the opening of the Grand Queen TT Lounge under the 14th Street Bridge.. at this time, it seems that Quee Mayor "TT" TomLYINGson would hope that it has been forgotten... good grief// $244,000.00 ...well at least that's the reportable number but looking at the costs over runs of the Whittlesey Road widening project.. who knows.

---
Oh, and why isn't the time and cost problems of the Whittlesey Road widening project the Number 1 story pf 2015?

---
You know.. after failing to complete the Whittlesey Road widening project in the original time plus an additional 6 months, whether by the contractor or the GA DOT, all business owners should be compensated for the excessive hardship it is having on them, and will have for the next 6-12 months... or longer if the same pattern is kept.

---
Another story from the L-E recap of 2015: "The scores from the state's new and more rigorous standardized tests, the Georgia Milestones, showed mixed results for local school districts. Three-fourths of Muscogee County schools ranked below the state average on the overall scores" -- Good grief.. how can the L-E and MCSD be celebratory over a worse than 75% failure rate! An optimistic attitude is one thing, but a delusional one is totally unacceptable.

---
Another 2015 story in Columbus: "By 54 to 46 percent, Columbus voters passed the March referendum to renew the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax that expired Dec. 31. The new 1 percent sales tax, which went into effect July 1, will last for five years or until $192,185,000 is collected for 24 capital projects in the Muscogee County School District. The big-ticket items are a new Spencer High School ($56 million), district-wide technology upgrades ($34 million), district-wide facility needs ($28 million) and a multi-sport complex for district-wide use ($11 million)." -- Hmmm.. "big ticket items" ($56M + $34M + $28M + $11M) of $139M.. of which $56M for Spencer is totally unnecessary with the non-existent growth pattern of students, and the existence of 127 unused classrooms system wide. This waste is the story..

---
L-E Story: " 6. Gay marriage *  The change was not restricted to the military. It also came in full force to courthouses in Columbus and Phenix City hours after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on June 26 that such unions were legal in all 50 states.  * Muscogee County Probate Judge Marc D’Antonio was clear he will follow the law.  *  “If I am going to continue to do marriages, I can’t discriminate,” D’Antonio said. “I took an oath to follow the law of the land, and this is the law of the land now.”" --  "“I took an oath to follow the law of the land, and this is the law of the land now.”"... Hmmm.. so did NERO-bamageddon and Pric Holder, but that doesn't seem to bother their decisions...

---
You know.. two of the main writers, Owen and Williams, have posted their lists of Top Stories" fir 2015..neither considered  Mayor TomLYINGson stories "worthy" but I think  the  $244,000.00 Mayor/Queen "TT" TomLYINGson Lounge" and her continual assault on our tax freeze are huge.

---
Online headline/story: "ISIS leader says group is getting stronger in purported new message  *  (_*_)l-B(_*_)ghd(_*_)di warned the nations fighting ISIS that they would pay a price for participating in the war against the group. He also threatened Israel, promising that ISIS is "getting closer" to Israel every day.  * He called upon all Muslims to join the fight, claiming it was their Islamic duty." -- "called upon all Muslims to join in the fight"? Hmmm.. maybe ISIS just needs better branding.. maybe a trendy name change.. hmmm  "Muslim Lives Matter"?

---
HuffPOOPOO story: "MISSION, Texas (AP) — The seven children had just crossed the river, shoes still caked with mud, when U.S. Border Patrol agents stopped them. * The youngest was 6, Jon Smith Figueroa Acosta, he said, and he'd made the 2,000-mile journey from Honduras. He did not know to what city or state he was headed, but he had a phone number for his father in the United States." -- "7 children.... crossed the
river"? Good grief.. Surely a wall would stop this.. in fact. a wall on the Mexican side would be optimum.

---
From the 'why don't we leave the pertinent facts out" department: - Washington Post "story": "Although black men make up only 6 percent of the U.S. population, they account for 40 percent of the unarmed men shot to death by police this year," --

FBI's 2012 statistics:

:                                                                         TOT.   WH          BL          N.A.    Asian
Murder and non-negligent manslaughter: 8,506   4,101     4,203         102     100

                                                                           TOT.      WH         BL          N.A.   Asian
Percent distribution                                         100.0    48.2        49.4         1.2      1.2

WaPo.. if you're gonna talk "facts", talk all the facts!  The blackest of all lies is the half truth!

You know, G.I.JILLary has been around too long for anyone to consider her getting any voters in the general election who were "undecided" in the primary polls.

---
Online "story": "The most immediate and noticeable changes on Jan. 1 will be in wages. Some 12 states alone are expected to increase their minimum wages -- including California and Massachusetts, which are going up to $10 an hour. The District of Columbia was the first to exceed the $10 minimum, but several states have incremental plans to raise their wages even further by 2018. * Bill Scher, an activist and analyst for the Campaign for America’s Future, noted that despite unsuccessful attempts to raise the wage at the federal level, many states have acted. He claimed 2 million jobs have been created since the start of this year due to wage increases." -- "(Bill Scher) claimed 2 million jobs have been created since the start of this year due to wage increases"? Good grief.. Scher, nor anyone else can show documentation that a "wage increase" has EVER created a job! The job existed,, and perhaps a wah=ge increase created more interest in applicants, but the job existed BEFORE any wage hike.

---
From the "absolute proof" department - Online story: "American hostages who were held in Iran for 444 days between 1979 and 1981 are finally receiving compensation from the government for their time in captivity.  * The Washington Post reported Thursday that a provision in the omnibus spending bill signed by President Obama last week provided for up to $4.4 million to be paid to each of the 37 surviving hostages or the estates of 16 others who have died since their release. The Post reported that the law authorizes payments of up to $600,000 for each spouse or child of a hostage. * According to the Post, money for the compensation will come in part from a $9 billion penalty paid by the French bank BNP Paribas for violating sanctions prohibiting conducting business with Iran, Cuba, and Sudan.  *  Lawyers for the hostages told the paper they expect all the survivors or estates to ultimately be paid in full.  * "Iran is not paying the money, but it’s as close as you can get," one attorney, Thomas Lankford, told the Post" -- Yeah.. absolute proof that lawyers are in it for the money rather han justice.. There is no justice in making a France bank  be the "teat" when Iran is the culprit.. hey.. is this another deal brokered by Kerry?

---
Online story: "Authorities say a San Francisco Bay Area transit officer was shot in the arm by a fleeing suspect who was then shot by a second officer.  * Bay Area Rapid Transit spokeswoman Denisse Gonzalez says the officer suffered a non-life threatening wound in the Friday morning shooting. She did not know the suspect's condition. Neither the officer nor the suspect was identified." -- Hmm the suspect's "condition nor identity" has not been released.. hmmm... my guess is that he's a straight white male Republican American.. deductive reasoning tells me that because San Francisco is a "sanctuary city" for every other variable so only a straight white male Republican American coulkd be arrested there.

---
We're doing things backwards trying to improve the school results. Instead of looking at assistant superintendents from a successful school in another school district, let's recruit other school board members that have shown success in getting schools turned around in that district.

---
You know, we could probably get better results in recruiting successful business people to run for in future elections by offering better incentives to serve. Keep the current "pay", but give members "tax exemption" from the school portion of their property taxes. Somebody successful enough to own a home that generates $20,000.00 plus annually in property taxes would love to save the school tax portion of $12K plus.

---
Wow! Since 2000, only 10,000,000 new jobs have bee.created, yet 30,000,000 have been added to the food stamp roll.

---
You know, only when industry is looking for new and more skilled workers do wage increases actually help the economy. Also, it's this kind if lagging boost that actually creates value for the middle class.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Obama Gives Touching Holiday Tribute To The Troops  * KANEOHE BAY, Hawaii (AP) - President Barack Obama is one of the most powerful men in the world. He's commander in chief of one of its mightiest militaries, too.  * Yet in spite of all that, Obama feels inadequate from time to time. " -- "feels inadequate from time to time"? Yeah, I THINK from sun-up to sundown about covers it ..

From the "look what I found just browsing the Inet" department: Abraham Lincoln is the tallest person to serve as our President...at 6'4". Is it just me or have you noticed that NERO-bamageddon tries to protray himself taller than his 6'1" stature? Anyway, what I discovered by chance is that I'm taller than every one of our Presidents.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "The Sanders campaign is taking its fight with the DNC to the next level" -- Good grief.. the next level is the bottom of the barrel.. you'd think,,, at least "feel" that the DNC wouldn't want to advertise this.

---
Online headline: "Obama takes on grueling hike" -- "grueling hike"?  That's a bit of an oxymoron (but somehow that seem pretty appropriate for NERO-bamageddon) Hike is defined by Miriam-Webster as: "to walk a long distance especially for pleasure or exercise"  somehow "grueling" doesn't seem like an appropriate adjective.. Hmmm.. now, it we could get him to take that long distance pleasure walk of a short pier.....

---
Well.. it looks like G.I. JILLary has the lead in one poll for sure.. the top scandal of 2015...at least with America... even though Bernie said he was tired of it, her e-mail situation is not going away with the public...

---
L-E story: " The Muscogee County Probate Court has processed 2,860 weapons carry license applications this year, more than any previous year, according to court records.  *  In fact, the number of weapon carry license applications in Muscogee County has grown steadily over the past 10 years, with the two largest spikes coinciding with President Barack Obama’s election and reelection. * Ten years ago, applications were running around 800-850 a year, that crept up to 1,076 in 2007 then almost doubled to 1,999 in 2008. The numbers dropped back down and stayed between 1,600 and 1,900 until 2013 — the year Obama took office for his second term — when it spiked up to 2,703. It dipped back to 2,685 last year, but rose again to 2,860, an all-time record, this year." -- Hmmm... looks like the good guys are catching up to getting as many guns on the streets as are already carried illegally by criminals!

---
Wow! Did you see this "editorial page cartoon" in the L-E..
Subscriptions must be way down...again.. and they are starting to pray down there.

---
Online story: "Islamic State has sanctioned the harvesting of human organs in a previously undisclosed ruling by the group's Islamic scholars, raising concerns that the violent extremist group may be trafficking in body parts. * The ruling, contained in a January 31, 2015 document reviewed by Reuters, says taking organs from a living captive to save a Muslim's life, even if it is fatal for the captive, is permissible."  -- Must have been trained at Planned Parenthood's "partial birth abortion" classes.

---
You know.. if someone wants to celebrate Festivus or some other pagan holiday,, It's OK .... just do it some other time of the year than Christmas.. Christians don't mind every body celebrating Christmas, but we do like to celebrate it as we want..and invite everyone else to join us..

---
Taking a stand against "gun violence" is a good.thing..taking away "gun rights" supported by our Constitution is a different game.

---
Have you noticed that so-called liberal pundits seem more interested in demogoguing Trump than trying to convince us that G.I. JILLary is the best person for our next president.

---
Online story: "While many New Yorkers believe that the city is becoming more dangerous, statistics released this weekend once again show that the crime rate is actually down. " --  Remember when the warden in "Cool Hand Luke" said to "Luke", "What we have here is a failure to communicate."?  This is one of those moments as well. What NYC simply has is less arrests for crime as police are not as diligent because the Mayor de Bl(_*_)io's restrictions on their powers and support..

---
Online headline: "Key Democratic figure may return to the 2016 race * New reports released Sunday suggest a well-known politician may re-enter the race for the White House as an independent candidate." -- Circus time.. Independent Bernie Sanders is running as a Democrat, and Democrat Jim Webb may be running as n Independent..ho hum... Now when Biden decides to jump back in as the DNC "savior".. that will get interesting.. G.I. JILLary just cannot get "the base" behind her and there is no real inter-party battle by the other opponents. Webb's appearance in the one debate he was in reminded me of Ross Perot's VP choice of Admiral Stockdale who said Who am I? Why am I here?... but not as glib.

---
Online story: "Authorities in Costa Rica have begun deportation proceedings for 56 Cuban migrants who entered that Central American nation after it stopped issuing special transit visas for Cubans who are trying to get to the United States. *  Thousands of Cubans had been migrating through Central America in fear that the year-old warming in U.S.-Cuban relations could end the special immigration privileges Cubans have in the United States." --  "special immigration privileges"?.. Like 6-year old Elian Gonzalez whom Janet Reno's heavily armed "storm troopers" extracted from a closet in his great-uncle's Miami home, and deported him?

---
Online headline: "White House is preparing for catastrophic solar flares that could have devastating impact on Earth" -- So NERO-bamageddon does feel he's "god", and can stop catastrophes with his pen...Hmmm.. now that I think about it NERO-bamageddon  may have a point about his effect on catastrophes.. he's STARTED a few with his pen...

---
From the "I've been secretly wishing this would happen" department - This is self-explanatory: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMyd81rvEqY

---
You gotta love Trump.. when G.I. JILLary says the Republicans have a "war on women", mainscream media sorta "coughs" and looks away as in a hernia check.... but not Trump. Trump response that JILLary is basically the enabler,... the pimp for her husbands "sexual addiction" and indiscretions

---
After exhaustive search, my bride found a copy of Mike Gaymon's book, "A View from the Backhoe". Calling it a book may be a stretch, it's really 19 vignettes... ramblings about life experiences, but I have read the first 4, and am eager to get back to it and finish. Tis is my two-thumbs-up uncompensated endorsement!

---
L-E headline: "Relatives of 2 killed by Chicago police question shootings" -- While this is good, nothing is going to change in Chicago until "relatives" of the other 431 deaths not shot by Chicago police start asking questions and demanding a solution within their community.
