Now, the Weekend Update:
Obamageddon scheduled a speech for Sunday night to reassure America about our safety. I was hoping he was going to take a page out of the U of Missouri event...and resign.
Online headline: "Obama: America will overcome 'new phase' of terror * 'We cannot turn against one another'" -- "cannot turn against one another"? That should be easy to correct.. all we need is for Obamageddon to announce he and the DOJ are "For America".
---
That California attack.... Obamageddon finally admitted it was an act of terrorism..now he just has to admit his assault on our Constitution is also an act of terrorism.
---
Online headline: "Donald Trump on Obama's national-security address: 'Is that all there is?'" -- Yep.. Trump is right... again... and as usual.... and succinct!
---
One thing for sure we can count on about what the White House will do is to downplay the presence of Tafsheen Malik. She single handedly has undermined Obamageddon's argument about women/wives as refugees.
---
From the "foxes guarding the henhouse" department - HuffPOOPOO headline: "Department Of Justice To Investigate Chicago Police: Report" -- and you think that the Lois Lerner clearance was suspicious?
---
Online headline: "Clinton says term 'radical Islam' an injustice to vast majority of Muslims" -- Vast majority"? Syria had 22,000,000 people.. 4,000,000 have left, another 250,000 have been executed .. that means 17,750,000 must think that being Muslim is "OK" , and that means those 17,750,000, the vast majority out of 22,000,000 don't think of themselves as radicals.. That's not what it appears to me.
---
Online headline: "Bush donor says if Trump wins the nomination, he'll vote for Hillary" -- Hmmm.. that about kills Bush's chances since the donor puts Bush closer to G.I. Jillary (which Bush's polling numbers support) than Trump. On the other hand, the RNC should probably make all major donors sign the same pledge as the candidates did.
---
HuffPOOPOO "headLIE": "Don't Forget That Climate Change Strengthens ISIS * by Eugene Jarecki * This post was originally published at TIME.com." -- and more Obamageddon Kool-Aid makes this seem absolutely brilliant.. I hope G.I. Jillary and Bernie get asked to respond to this in their next debate...
---
Online story: "In Obamageddon's speech..."For example, right now, people on the No-Fly list can walk into a store and buy a gun. That is insane. If you're too dangerous to board a plane, you're too dangerous, by definition, to buy a gun. " -- You know.. the Obamageddon's own folks run the departments that make the decisions about issuing gun permits, if the federal "no fly" lists aren't used in screening guns capable of being smuggled onto planes, then Obamageddon must accept personal responsibility for this.
---
You know.. if a person is convicted of mass or multiple/serial murders, immediate executions, within a week or less, should be included in the sentencing. Obviously, all rights of appeal should be eliminated.
---
Online "headLIE"/story: "San Bernardino shooter was teased about beard, family lawyers say * had been made fun of by his co-workers for his beard, his family's lawyers claimed Friday. * " -- Good grief.. ..."regular" people rush home, get the wife, don military gear and weapons and return to where he had worked for five years, and open fire on whomever is around in retaliation because someone "teased" him about his beard. Yeah.. right..
---
Online story: "Scientists believe they may have found the key to living forever -- or at least 25 percent longer." -- Good grief.. we can't afford this as a country.. especially if you're working and paying taxes.. Democrats would want to raise the Social Security retirement age so those not working could have their welfare benefits extended for those living on government largesse.
---
Online headline/story: "Coca-Cola apologizes for ‘insensitive’ ad featuring indigenous Mexicans * The ad, part of Coke’s “Open Your Heart” campaign, has been criticized for white hipster-like people building a Coca-Cola tree for the underprivileged villagers and delivering them coolers filled with soda. * The Alliance for Food Health, a coalition of consumer rights and health groups, wants the Mexican government to block the ad, saying it is an attack on the dignity of indigenous people. It also says the ad contributes to the deteriorating health of Mexico's indigenous communities. Mexico is a major consumer of soda and other sugared drinks and has skyrocketing rates of obesity and diabetes. The average Mexican consumes 43 gallons of soda per year, with Coca-Cola controlling a vast majority of the market share." -- First.. shame on Coca Cola... FOR APOLOGIZING! Compassion is not" insensitive"! Hmmm.. the "Alliance for Food Health" says "the ad contributes to the deteriorating health of Mexico's indigenous communities." Good grief.. then why isn't the "Alliance for Food Health" protesting that the Mexican government get its act together and clean up the water sources for safe and healthy human consumption?
---
HuffPOOPOO story: "Nicolas Maduro, Venezuela's president, recently announced that if the opposition were to gain a majority in the National Assembly in elections this Sunday, "We would not give up the revolution and ... we would govern with the people in a civil-military union." To ensure that no one would accuse him of not being a true democrat, he clarified that "we would do this with the constitution in hand." The president conveniently ignored the small detail that the constitution does not have any provision for a "civil-military" government." -- "president conveniently ignored the small detail that the constitution does not have any provision for a "civil-military" government"? Hmmm..."conveniently ignore the Constitution"... maybe Obamageddon does have "some influence" with other socialist leaders...
---
You know, Obamageddon has recently been taking away DOD donations of armored and riot control vehicles and high-tec weapons from local police departments across America. Combined with all his firings of top military brass that have disagreed with him, we might need to take an inventory check on who Obamageddon has put in charge.. especially the ones in charge of the nuclear missile buttons.
---
Online story: "Secretary of State John Kerry warned Israel on Saturday about the dangers of the possible collapse of the Palestinian Authority, saying it would lead to a situation that would threaten the security of Israel and the Palestinian people." -- Good grief.. when did someone give him a V-8 forehead bump?
---
How about some truth in advertising..No, not for political ads because that won't happen as long as Democrats can run for office, but how about pillow ads? How can a pillow help you achieve "deep REM sleep"? REM sleep is an acronym for Rapid Eye Movement which occurs during LIGHT sleep time when you dream.
---
There was a Goodyear blimp covering the Falcon's game. In these days, a "blimp" attack at a major stadium would be quite a terrorist coupe... in fact there was a movie about such in 1977.. "Black Sunday"..
---
Dr Pepper needs to rethink its scholarship game during halftime at the SEC Championship game. Having two people trying to ring the hole with footballs tossed into a giant soda can should not look like two-handed push shots from the free throw line.
---
There are 40 bowl games this year...80 teams will be playing..some of those..by necessity, will have 5-7 records..I vote for cutting bowl games in half.
---
Online story: "Ted Cruz offered an impassioned defense of gun rights in the wake of the San Bernardino terrorist attack on Friday, telling a crowd at an Iowa gun range, "you don't stop bad guys by taking away our guns, you stop bad guys by using our guns." * Cruz criticized the media for focusing on gun control in the wake of the shootings, telling his supporters: "Folks in the media ask on behalf of Democrats, 'isn't it insensitive to do a Second Amendment rally after the shooting.' I really don't view our job as being sensitive to Islamic terrorists." -- Ted Cruz is right.. the time to support the 2nd Amendment and shout down liberals is now and in the next election..while taxpayers are sensing the abandonment of personal safety that Democrats want to achieve.
---
You know...the bowl committee, especially the playoff committee, need to get their act together..as of Saturday AM, Michigan State, ranked 5th, was line favored over home team Iowa, ranked 4th, in their championship game. We'll soon know whether Las Vegas or the NCAA should be the selector group for the playoffs.

Soapbox Moment:
Looking at the holiday schedule for garbage pick-up in Columbus.. just the garbage.. not recycling or lawn debris... When Mayor TomLYINGson first presented "her plan", it was to generate $250,000.00 in annual savings (that would have saved the average household less than $4.00 a year).. then she came back and said it would save the City $500,000.00 (yep, that would save the average household less than $8.00 a year).. Somehow, that passed Council's muster. Now we see that instead of picking two days a week, the garbage pick-ups are still 4 days a week. How come all of it cannot be picked up on two days as it was possible to get half the city done each pick-up day when we got twice-a-week service?
Now, the way I see it.. the two biggest ongoing (and scalable) costs are fuel and labor.. I can see saving about $10,000.00 per week if fuel and labor cost are only generated twice a week rather than 4 times, but that's not what's happening. The holiday schedule says there are still garbage pick-ups 4 days a week Why?
I'd also like to see a cost break down of how $10,000.00 a week can be generated when trucks are manned and using fuel the same amount of days as before.
---
Columbus just recorded its 18th murder of 2015.. in fairness to Mayor TomLYINGson, compared to Chicago, percentage wise, Columbus would have only 243 killed by guns if Columbus' population was as large as Chicago.
---
Hmmm.. does anyone know how many people have been shot, but not killed, on the streets of Columbus this year who didn't die? It seems we're reading about shootings 2 or 3 times a week.
---
There was an interview in the L-E Sunday with our Parks & Rec director, DR James Worsley. Here's a question not asked: If Columbus's Aquatic Center will lose $500,000.00 per year in to stay open for these events, how is staging theses events going to be a positive for the taxpayers? To boot.. the competition is NAIA.. not the NCAA.

The nerve of G.I. JILLary... she sent me a survey which I tried to send in, but it was kicked back because I didn't check off a category that only had options to praise her past performances:
Why are you with Hillary? (check all that apply)
She’ll fight for me and my family
She’s a progressive who gets things done
She has a track record of success
She will be a great Commander in Chief
She’s going to be the first woman president
Unlike G.I. JILLary, I was raised not to lie. Today, I got another e-mail asking me to complete her earlier survey form. Yeah ..right.. like it'll let me send it in.. You know, this is her number one problem.. not only can she not speak the truth, she doesn't want to hear the truth.

Online story: "The Daily News has continued its streak of imaginative front-page covers since last week's mass shooting in San Bernardino, California. * The New York tabloid first stirred controversy by blasting Republican politicians for only offering "prayers" in the immediate aftermath of the shooting, which left 14 dead. Its provocative headline was "GOD ISN'T FIXING THIS," and the cover went on to attack "cowards" for not enacting gun-control measures in response. * In subsequent covers, the News doubled and tripled down on its attacks against the gun lobby. But the News will take a completely different tack on Monday, according to a Sunday-night tweet from the newspaper. * "To all those who have been offended by hearing the truth about our nation's gun scourge & the NRA & cowardly pols who think nothing's wrong: Everything is awesome!" the latest cover declared." -- "To all those who have been offended by hearing the truth"? Good grief.. the "Daily News" does not know the truth.. nor would print it if it did.. The only cure for the situations of too many shootings in major cities is tougher penalties for gun crimes.. Death should be automatic and carried out within a week of convictions so those thinking there is a future in joining gangs would have something to really think about.
---
Online "headlie": "Price of a burger set to plummet for unusual reason" -- Oooops, thought it was because of Chick - fil - A ads... of course, the headline is a "headlie" because burgers won't be cheaper... just the meat they're made with..
---
From the "look what I randomly ran across on the I-net" department.. Did ypu know that 13 states collect taxes on your Social Security Income? What's worse is that 7 of those states voted for Romney in 2012.
---
Online headline: "Carter says cancer is gone from brain" -- Praise God! Now we'll see if he's truly cured by whether or not he retracts his membership from the Democratic Party.
---
Online headline: "Expert argues Tamir Rice was shot with his hands in pockets" -- Good grief.. what's the plaintiff's lawyer going to do.. "Photo-Shop " the video?
---
Online headline: "Carson slams transgender people in military * The GOP candidate told veterans at a town hall Saturday that he doesn't appreciate 'using our military as a laboratory for social experimentation.'" -- Carson is right... who wants their back covered by someone who's confused about who "she-it" is?
---
Online headline: "Calif. shooters reportedly planned to strike again" -- What a condemnation of Obamageddon! Two suicide jihadists "feeling" the police wouldn't shoot at them without prior White House approval..
---
L-E headline/story: "Inquirer: New problems surfacing with 11th Street closing * Concerned downtown readers, frustrated by the city having to close 11th Street at Broadway to make sewer repairs, had better get used to it. While it might get a little better soon, workers have found a new subterranean problem near the one they just repaired. * If there is good news, it's that the city is going to hold off until after the holidays. (I can say holidays because I don't live in Harris County.)" -- You know, back in the early mid-90s, the CWW held a gun to our heads that if we didn't pass a $100,000,000 dollar bond issue, it would have to triole our rates to do the repairs necessary to our sewer system. The CWW also promised that with this bond revenue, it would correct ALL of the old problems so Columbus would not suffer from problems such as this. Columbus taxpayers gave the CWW what it asked for.. it's the CWW that has failed Columbus.
Oh, and as far as Owen's cheap comment that "I can say holidays because I don't live in Harris County".. Merry Christmas, (_*_)wen.
'Now, the CWW is campaigning for another bond issue to pay for what should be paid for by developers, and Mayor TomLYINGson has just sent the bond ratings for Columbus sky-rocketing up by reducing our "fund balance" below the all important 60 day level. When it comes up, just saym "Bah, Humbug!"
---
L-E Headline: "Police arrest mother of newborn baby who was buried alive"
-- You know, it almost seems sort of hypocritical to arrest a woman for burying
her baby alive when partial birth abortions are legal infanticide in abortion
clinics.
---
L-E story: "(Kirby) Smart will also receive bonuses for participating in
various bowl games. A College Football Playoff appearance is worth $500,000 and
a national championship appearance is worth $600,000. A Sugar, Rose, Cotton,
Orange, Fiesta or Peach Bowl appearance will net him $200,000. Appearing in the
Citrus Bowl is worth $100,000. Getting a berth in the TaxSlayer, Outback, Belk,
Music City, Texas and Liberty Bowl would earn Smart $75,000. Smart would receive
$50,000 by going to the Birmingham Bowl." -- Good grief.. why are bonuses set
for lesser bowl games.. UGA should just make it mandatory the coach show up for
a lesser bowl so there will be evidence compiled to replace him in the following
year or two.
