You know.. 43% in the poll feel Obamageddon is handling things well.. that's even scarier than Bernie.
---
From the "only in.. you guessed it... California" department - Online story: " Three-quarters of paroled sex offenders in California who were previously banned from living near parks, schools and other places where children congregate now face no housing restrictions after the state changed its policy in response to a court ruling, according to data compiled at the request of The Associated Press." -- I have a couple of solutions.. life without parole, death, and genital removal with an internally implanted colostomy bag..
---
Online headline: "Elon Musk fears clash will doom Mars mission * The tycoon has big plans to colonize the Red Planet, but he says a brewing battle far worse than anything 'that's happened before' could foil them.
Conflict he warns could halt project" -- "conflict that could halt project"? I thought Musk was supposed to be "super smart" but if he thinks WWIII is what could stop his dream, he hasn't thought about the two simplest conditions that will doom Mars from colonization.. where would you go for a vacation, and poor cell-phone services with huge bills.
---
Online headline: "Pete Rose remains banned from MLB" -- I liked Pete Rose.. I think Pete Rose, the player, elevated the game.. but Pete Rose the gambler trumped himself. I applaud MLB for standing firm.. I also think Pete Rose should be inducted before any player known to have used PEDs (performance enhancing drugs).
---
Online story: "President Obama signed an executive order on Friday declaring the closure of all “executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government for half of a day on Thursday, December 24, 2015.” -- Hmmm why should Obamageddon care about whether you're needing government help on a Thursday afternoon.. he'll be in Hawaii on vacation.. Hmmm, maybe the Secret Service and Hawaiian White House staff should take the afternoon off as well.. Come to think about it,, do Secret Service agents and the Obama's personal staff get any consideration about spending their Christmas in Washington, D.C. with their families or having to go to Hawaii?
---
From the "good grief" department - Online headline: "A-list star may be planning a run for the White House
A major celebrity revealed in a recent interview that Donald Trump's controversial comments on Muslims may 'force' him to run for office." -- Good grief.. If you're not solely motivated to make America "great", no one has any business running for president.. in fact, why is there even a Democrat running for the office? Has anyone heard any of those candidates running on anything but personal issues designed to get oddball voters on board?
---
Online headline: "Forensic science reveals how Jesus really looked" -- Good grief.. looks like forensic science thinks it's as good as TV series..
---
Online story: "A high school senior in Massachusetts is frustrated that a photo of her featuring an American flag was rejected from her school's yearbook. * Morgan Truax's boss at the Red Wing Diner, Liam Murphy, took the photo and purchased a full page ad in Foxborough High School's yearbook to honor all her hard work. * The school won't publish it, however, saying it's disrespectful." -- Good grief.. an American public school is claiming the American flag is disrespectful... perhaps what's really disrespectful is that American tax dollars pay the salaries of the school officials.
Online headline: "Prosecutor: Massachusetts teen who raped and killed teacher knew right from wrong" -- The prosecuter is going to have a hard time convicing a jury of that if the student went to the above high school!
---
From the "cutting your own throat" department - Online headline: "Seattle city council votes to allow Uber, Lyft drivers to unionize" -- Good grief.. the one condition that has allowed competition for Taxi Companies is now eliminated. It was high fares that gave independent drivers their "in" in the "ride business". Next will be that Uber/LYFT drivers will have to have their cars inspected for safety and suitability, and new commercial licenses for drivers.
---
It's pathetic to imagine, much less read about the FBI being involved in a ransom payoff to al Qaida for Bergdahl, but knowing he's going to be tried for desertion takes some of the sting out of it.. now we just need Congress to connect the dots between the FBI and the White House for conspiracy.
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Soyuz Capsule Carrying American, British And Russian Astronauts Launches" -- Once again, Putin eats Obamageddon's lunch.
---
L-E headline: "Dems continue frustrating search for Georgia senator candidate * What's worse is that the Republican Party doesn't have another candidate to challemge Isakson so I could for "for" a candidate, rather than against any Democrat that runs against him.
---
Talk about media biases, the mainstream media discusses the Iowa Democrat race as "over" because G.I. JILLary leads the Iowa polls with 51% of those voters.Good grief, what it means to me is that she cannot distance herself from a socialist has been and a never was.
---
You know, as long as Obamageddon announces that he doesn't want to strike at ISIS/ISIL that are hiding behind civilians, then ISIS/ISIL terrorists will continue to hide behind civilians, and civilians will think they are safer working with the terrorists than not.
---
If an Obamageddon orated in the woods, would he still feel he should lie?
---
AJC "headLIE": "Georgia poll finds wide GOP support for Donald Trump and his Muslim ban" -- "HeadLIE" in that the people aren't concerned whether there is or isn't a "ban" on Muslims, but the people recognize that Trump is going to do something to increase our safety..
---
Has anyone seen stories about nearby Muslim countries reaching out to welcome Syrian refugees into their country?
---
L-E headline: "Superintendent's legal counsel recommendation prevails over board member's objections" --
Just looking at what happened last night, it seems that there could possibly been some "pre-discussion" among the 6 on the lawyers issue.. I find it hard to believe that none of the other 6 "wavered" on this enough not to want to table it for further discussion...
---
L-E story: "Myers cited a board policy that says “legal counsel shall be appointed by the board,” but Lewis cited another board policy that says the appointment shall come “upon the recommendation of the superintendent.” -- Hmmm, and if the Superintendent "recommended" his kinfolk to be the legal representative, would the 6 have voted for that? Oh.. what if the Superintendent "recommended" that the MCSB have no say .. would the MCSB accepted that?
---
You know, if I had multiple fee bids that were a $100.00+ apart, I'd wonder whether I was getting the best advice from the lower bidders or whether they would bill twice as many hours as another firm.. As a general rule, advice is no better than what you paid for it.
---
L-E story: "The board approved with an 8-0 vote (Athavia “A.J.” Senior was
absent) expanding the scope of the project that will produce a new gym at Fort
Middle School, increasing the cost from $2.9 million to $5.1 million. * it now
includes new locker rooms, showers, toilets, concessions, coaches offices and
storage " -- Good grief.. this is almost conspirital and raises the question
whether any of the generalized SPLOST projects proposed were fully fleshed out
to reasonable costs for a useable facility. In addition, what projects will not
be completed because the $192,185,000.00 tax collection is a finite
figure.
---
L-E headline/story: "Suspected home invader fatally shot * Authorities
said they were called to 4011 Valley Road around 8:22 a.m." ---Hmm.. that's the
old residence of the late Doug Wallace.. the Valley's all-time favorite
weatherman.. Guess there was plenty of chalk there to outline the body.
L-E headline: "Users: Let parks and rec run the Aquatic Center" -- Hmmm...
I can live with that.. only let the users pay fees that will run it on a
no-loss basis so taxpayers who don't use aren't paying for it.
---
There are a number of cases, including one here that "witnesses" have
voiced concern that the victim of a police shooting was running away.. DOH!
Yeah... running away carrying the gun he has used/brandished, or threatened to
use, and who knows what might have happened to someone the "victim" met in his
armed flight.
---
No doubt, this is the finest column Chuck has ever written.. for that
matter, will ever write.. it's about my pastor, and every member of First
Baptist Church of Columbus feels that Jimmy is their own personal pastor as
well:
---
L-E headline/story: "Police: Cyclist struck by car in downtown Columbus *
Columbus Police said a 2000 Ford Expedition was headed east on 13th Street as
the cyclist was traveling south in the crosswalk on Broadway. The vehicle was in
the far inside lane on 13th Street when its front bumper struck the cyclist
riding along the crosswalk, officers said." -- "the cyclist was traveling south
in the crosswalk"? Hmmm.. sounds the bicyclist was not observing the laws under
which bicycles and automobiles share. As a one-time avid rider myself, even when
carefully observing all the rules of the road, it behooves a bicyclist to be
very concerned about "defensive driving" at all times.
