Online headline: "James Holmes gets life in prison for 2012 shooting * The Colo. theater shooter received a life sentence without parole after the jury failed to reach a unanimous decision on the death penalty Friday." - - Good grief.. what were some the jurors smoking.. Oh! we KNOW that... any juror who didn't agree to the death penalty should be arrested and jailed and convicted of perjury during the jury selection process. There's no way any of those jurors was telling the truth... under oath.. that they could vote for the death penalty if the (_*_) was convicted!

---
From above story: "The nine women and three men said they could not reach a unanimous verdict on each murder count. " -- "on each murder count"? Good grief.. just apply each count separately.. execute him on one the murders and then who cares if the courts then commute the others for time well served...
---
After note on above: How can a jury pick and choose which of 12 murders doesn't "deserve" the death penalty"?

---
Online headline: "US Navy posting armed guards at military centers * The Navy said on Friday it plans to station armed guards at U.S. reserve centers after a gunman killed five servicemen last month in Tenn" -- Better not let Obamageddon know or he will "RIF" these patriots first!

---
Online headline: "Attorneys say prosecutors hid evidence in Freddie Gray case" -- Well, what did they expect after the Baltimore mayor said the thugs needed "space to destroy".... guess the State Attorney of Baltimore took that literally fro herself as well.

---
L-E story: "After a jury of seven men and five women Friday found Sandy Mitchell guilty in the murder of cab driver Byron Keith Brown, Brown’s daughter Zaakirah Bilal talked about the father she lost in September 2012. * In court she had put both hands over her mouth to hold back an outcry when she heard Mitchell was found guilty of murder and using a firearm to commit a felony. Mitchell now could face life in prison, with his sentencing set for 2 p.m. Tuesday." "could face life in prison"? -- COULD! Why not the death penalty... TOMORROW! "could".. whether a sentence for life or death sentences just doesn't cut it.. First degree murder cases SHOULD have but one result.. death and carried out as soon as a needle, or gun can be loaded!
---
From above story: "Mitchell’s defense attorney W*** K**** said afterward that his client was disappointed with the verdict, which would be appealed." -- Why...other than more money for himself, would the attorney appeal the verdict? What a miscarriage of justice.
---
Online headline/story: "Virginia revokes license plates featuring Confederate flag * Affected motorists also will be sent envelopes addressed to the DMV asking them to return the existing plates to the state for recycling." -- "return the existing plates"? Yeah.. like that's going to really happen...
---
L-E story: "The Chicago Police Department will allow independent evaluations of its stop-and-frisk procedures that critics say target blacks under an agreement with the American Civil Liberties Union announced Friday, as police nationwide face scrutiny about how they treat minorities." -- Good grief.. the ACLU ought to ask the law abiding... make that the crime stricken families of Chicago if they want less street thugs stopped and frisked for guns..
---
Online story: "One of two men charged in connection with last month's home invasion, rape and fatal bludgeoning of a 64-year-old California woman was in the U.S. illegally and on probation, the News-Press has learned. * Victor R(_*_)mirez, 29, who is charged in the July 24 attack in Santa Maria, Calif., was on probation for committing battery against an unidentified woman on May 22, 2014, while in possession of methamphetamine. He was charged twice this year for violating probation, once for possessing a concealed knife and the other for drugs, but a Santa Barbara judge allowed him to enter a substance abuse center in Santa Maria in lieu of jail. According to County Jail officials, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement declined to issue an immigration detainer that would have required local authorities to hold him for deportation. * Police say Marilyn Pharis was beaten with a hammer and sexually assaulted in the morning attack, and died later at a local hospital." -- Good grief.. even TRUMP doesn't know how RIGHT he was!

You know.. if money spent on electing politicians to pad the pockets of corporations is such a determining factor in who gets elected, then why is it that the Democrats are the ones so intent on padding the pockets of non-corporate voters?
---
You know .. compromise is the least effective way of attaining a goal... if you can't agree on what's the best way to attain/accomplish a certain result, then why is taking another "compromise" route going to work for either party? Take travelling by car to a common destination..you think going by car is good... your spouse thinks flying is better... you compromise on public transportation rather than your car but take the bus rather than a plane.. nobody is happy or wins

L_E guest commentary: "Bloomberg View: Voting rights inequities" -- Good grief... the only way to protect the voting rights of each and every American citizen is to require proof of age, proof of identity, proof of citizenship, and proof of address in every precinct/district state. If any unqualified voter casts a ballot, it countermands.. literally disenfranchises, a qualified voters wishes.
