Trump won..

Our mayor in Columbus, GA is on an assault of what has been the best "checks and balances" plan ever devised to keep politicians from being wasteful. (though it's not a guarantee when a mayor like Mayor TomLYINGson has access to previous mayors diligence in maintaining a responsible "fund balance"). In 1982, Columbus citizens voted for a GA Constitutional Amendment that set the purchase price of their homes as it's taxable value until it was either major improvements or sold. Every homeowner was treated the same.. Even the US Supreme Court agreed it was Constitutional because it was fair and available to EVERYONE. Mayor TomLYINGson says it has slowed our growth so it needs to be repealed and has set off on a crusade to do just such. Well, since she became mayor in 2010, our population has grown from a 2010 Census report of 189,885 to a 2015 ( "County Totals Dataset: Population, Population Change and Estimated Components of Population Change: April 1, 2010 to July 1, 2015". Retrieved July 2, 2016.) estimate of 200,579. That my friends is a growth rate of 5.6%.. Her arguments and "facts" don't hold water..

Online story: "A CNN/ORC poll found that 62 percent of viewers thought Clinton won vs. 27 percent who thought Trump did so. That’s the most lopsided result in CNN’s data set, which goes back until 1984, except for Romney smoking Obama 67-25 at their first debate in 2012. Of CNN's respondents, 34 percent said the debate had made them more likely to vote for Clinton while 18 percent said it had made them more likely to vote for Trump." -- Hmmm.. when 18% of CNN viewers says watching the debate made them Trump supporters, Trump won by a landslide.

Yesterday's Houston shooter was an attorney.. named Nathan DeSai, and he was garbed in Nazi gear, I'm trying to figure out why mainscream media has not already labeled him a right-winger Trump supporter.. I guess it's because there may be info indicating otherwise.
---
Remember last night when Hellary stated that violent crime was down? Wonder if she missed the newest FBI report that was released yesterday? Maybe she was holed up "getting prepped" for the debate. An way, here's the online story :"Violent crime in the United States increased in 2015 but remained far below peak levels of the 1990s, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said on Monday as presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump prepared for a debate that is likely to focus on public safety. The murder rate rose 10%." -- Guess Lester Holt, NBC's anchor and debate moderator didn't notice the story either... yeah, right..
---
What is leadership when Hellary says se needs her husband to run the economy, and the debate moderator to fact check? Doesn't she need those skills to be president? Somehow, Lester Holt "forgot" to ask her about these.
---
Fox & Friends interviewed some Hofstra students yesterday morning. One was holding up a "Bieber for president" sign.. Steve Doucy asked her if she realized that Beiber was born in Canada and is not 35..either condition prohibiting Bieber from being president of the US. She looked dumbfounded. ... Common CRAP Curriculum?
---
It's as amusing as it is amazing that political pundits and analysts don't understand why Hellary is neither the predetermined winner projected 2 years ago nor rising in the polls. The reason is simple..all the people who will vote for her have already given up on maintaining their morals about her ever telling the truth.
---
Hellary did exercise one bit of good judgement last night.. she did not use a "lift" behind the lectern to give her more statue.. Guess someone finally realized that it would have been a Lord Farquaad moment straight out of "Shrek".
---
Online headline: "Ga. Rep. Hank Johnson Introduces Voting Protection Measures" -- Guess Hank doesn't want too many voting machines in one corner of the polling place so it want tip over....
---
Online headline: "Kennesaw OK’s $28M city budget" -- Hmmm.. one of our neighbors with a population of about 33,000.. Hmm that's a budget of about $848.00 per person.. compare that with our current budget of $263,000,000.00.. with our population of 200,000 that comes to $1,315.-- per person. Tax revenue is a problem here, wasteful spending is THE problem here.
---
Yesterday afternoon, I actually switched channels.from Fox to MSNBC because I cannot stomach Juan Williams defending Hellary as a legitimate American patriot. At least on MSNBC, the staff is honest about her dishonesty, and their complicity.
---
L-E headline: "Clinton, Trump clash over economy" -- I reckon so..
especially if you compare track records of Trump's businesses and the US
National Debt. Of course, I'm surprised anyone at the L-E stayed up late enough
to actually have this in today's issue.
---
Possibly the best "L-E "soundoff of the year: "The “motto” for Columbus is
“What Progress Has Preserved.” Don’t you think we should change it to “What
Progress Has Done in Attracting More Orange Cones and Barrels”? -- heh heh
heh
---
Possibly the second best L-E "soundoff" of the year: "If the mayor thinks
she can run the jail on the budget she has given Darr, why doesn’t she go over
there and try to run it with that same budget and still follow all of the
mandates they have? -- she won't though, because she'd lose control of our "Fund
Balance" check book.
---
L-E headline/story: "Council to vote on internal audit of sheriff’s office"
* A resolution authorizing Internal Auditor John Redmond to perform the audit
states that he should begin “at the earliest possible time.” * At a council
meeting in July, Darr agreed to an audit of his office, but he said he would
prefer an outside auditor, such as Albright & Fortenberry, which regularly
does work for the city. * At the time, Councilor Mike Baker, a certified public
accountant, said he would agree to the delay, but he would ultimately side with
Redmond performing the audit, regardless of Darr’s objections. * “Whether you’re
talking about government or private business, you don’t get to pick your
auditor,” Baker said." -- I have as much confoidence in City Auditor John
Redmond .. perhaps even more, than Mike Baker, but..no, BUT, in this case which
is fueled by Redmond's boss to be done at election time reeks of "style over
substance".. and even Mayor TomLYINGson's "style" smells like a rat. I also
think it's unfair to Redmond and the taxpayers. Also, shame on Glenn Davis for
being TomLYINGson's "dupe".
---
Before the early voting starts locally, I think Mayor TomLYINGson should
post her personal Foundation's 2015/2016 local donations. Past results have
favored organizations that side with her on issues.
---
Another thing for sure is that Mayor TomLYINGson is not interested in
whether the "freeze" is "fair" to new home buyers, because she mentions nothing
about simply balancing out revenues by raising some old tax rates and lowering
the new ones. She simply wants to "stick it" to old home owners and new buyers
alike.
---
L-E editorial headline/content: "Milestone for literacy and learning *
Even before retired Aflac executive Warren Steele was involved with any
large-scale childhood literacy project, he was mentoring and reading to school
children. * “What I saw,” Steele told the Ledger-Enquirer’s Lauren Gorla, “was
that those kids were already so far behind in third grade and definitely by
fifth grade, I realized what I think was a need to get to them sooner.”" --
Accolades for Warren Steels! Now, why is not making sure every 3rd grade student
can read not the first priority of the MCSD.. No testing improvements can be
expected if students cannot read at their level, and if they are behind at the
end of 3rd grade, there's little chance they'll ever catch up.
---
In a Letter to the L-E Editor today, one "yuppie" writes: "As a young
professional in the area, I have a heart for healthy and sustainable growth in
our community. This broad vision includes attracting and retaining talent. * One
deterrent continually identified, from residents and visitors, is our
inefficient property tax system. We place a huge "unwelcoming" tax on new home
buyers. 75% of homeowners subsidize the 25% with higher and disproportionate
property taxes for the first 14 years they own their homes. The freeze is
essentially a Ponzi scheme that takes 14 years to reap the benefits! * Bottom
line: We are placing a huge, unnecessary tax burden on new homeowners, and they
are buying elsewhere because of it." -- Well, in lieu of a report showing
Columbus grew 5.9% between 2010 (when TomLYINGson became mayor) and 2015, so
where is this yuppies argument? To boot, housing property taxes will not only
NOT go down, they are guaranteed to go UP for all new buyers, and yes, as soon
as a suit is settled in court, the writer will lose his/her "freeze" as well.
Seems like the mayor has served up her best Kool Aid to her friends.
Note: The writer, (http://qpublic7.qpublic.net/ga_display_dw.phpcounty=ga_muscogee&KEY=004+006+017+401&)
has a better argument against the millage rate he/she is paying.. The
millage rate on such property is 48.24 versus the millage rate of 41,25 of
another owner in the same condo building downtown
