Online headline: "Golf legend Arnold Palmer dies at 87" -- Forever live the king! What memories I have to reflect on forever,, but the most unforgettable one was in 1963.. Dad took me and a friend to East Lake in Atlanta for the Ryder Cup matches. Wish I still had the hat he autographed as I stood dumbfounded in his presence. Arnie was the "Ted Williams" of golf. I still have my 1957 Washington Senators scorebook Ted Williams signed.

I cannot put this any more succinct than this fellow BCer and retired local quasi-government icon:

Like your tax freeze? You can keep it!
Like your doctor? You can keep it!
Want premiums to go down? Support OBama Care!
Want your taxes to go down? Support the thaw!

Does any of this sound familiar? The Mayor, like Obama, has been a liberal democrat all her adult life.  Spend and build bigger government at the expense of tax payers.

---
My dad use to talk about how he was mesmerized by my mom's "doe eyes". I guess Bill Clinton was mesmerized by Hellary's "dough eyes".

---
Here's a question that should be asked our legislative delegation "If a county wanted to set up a new property tax system where people who already owned their homes would be frozen at this point and new buyers would not, would such a law get out of committee?"

---
It's sorta like pouring salt into a wound to see any W.C. Bradley Company executives/owners supporting the "THAW' initiative based on stagnant job growth since W.C. Bradley Co. sent it's grill manufacturing jobs overseas to China.

---
Hope the local GOP pulls the welcome mat out from under Pezold's feet. Remember him swearing he was voting to put the THAW initiative because he thought he should have a chance to vote on it? That's a far cry from being a sponsoring supporter of it.

Hey..put "Sully" on your spouse-date to-do list...

Online story: "Police pleaded with the public for help identifying a gunman who fled after killing four women and a man at a Washington state mall Friday night. * As authorities determine a motive, they said Saturday that there was no immediate evidence the attack was terror-related." -- "no immediate evidence the attack was terror related"? Yeah.. tell that to the victims' families!

Update..Shooter caught/named: one Arcan Cetin — an immigrant from Turkey — is a legal permanent resident of the United States and lives in Oak Harbor, according to police. He was arrested in Island County last year on a case of simple assault. Islam is the largest religion in Turkey according to the state, with 99.8% of the population being automatically registered by the state as Muslim, for anyone whose parents are not of any other officially recognized religion. -- Yeah, tell me again there's no link to Islamic terrorism .

HuffPOOPOO headline: "The New York Times Endorses Hillary Clinton, Praising Her 'Intellect, Experience, And Courage' -- Please note, even he NYT nor HuffPOOPOO would get within 10-foot pole reach of her integrity or honesty.

---
Online headline/story: "Obama used a pseudonym while emailing Hillary Clinton while she was at the US State Department *  According to the documents, Huma Abedin, one of Clinton's aides, first noticed the former secretary of state's exchange with an unrecognized sender on June 28, 2012 that was later revealed to be Obama."--  Hmmm.. wonder what tipped Huma Abedin off.. the Carlos Danger, Jr. screen name?

Season's over..Tennessee "wins", if you call having the absolute ugliest uniform ever a "win". I guess Nike couldn't...wouldn't...  put Oregon in them so close to their headquarters.

---
From the "if we can't help Hellary, then we must make Trump seem equally bad" department - L-E "headline: "Clinton, Trump look to overcome weaknesses on debate stage" -- Good grief.. is the L-E trying to make it look like Trump has as bad a past as Hellary? Name me one successful business venture .. for that matter .. a successful political outcome... that has Hellary's name on it...

---
Hellary trying to get a "stand in" to "play" Trump in a mock debate is another example of her lack of good judgement.. Trump is unique.. and to coach someone to emulate Trump is an effort in futility and a waste of time and energy.. none of the traits we need in a president.

---
L-E story: "The Sweet Home Cafe is the main dining area of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum for African American History and Culture. The executive chef, Jerome Grant, said the food served will also tell a story of the African-American experience. * The Agricultural South station features what is considered traditional soul food: chicken and waffles, collard greens, macaroni and cheese, barbecue chicken and candied yams. " -- Talk about perpetrating stereotypical images... remember how mainscream media excoriated Fuzzy Zoeller  for joking that when Tiger Woods' "Masters' Winners" entree would be "Fried Chicken and Collard Greens"?

Now I know what I'll order when I visit.. Fried Chicken and Collard Greens! Yum!

---
From the "let's pistol-whip Sheriff Darr" department - L-E story: Council Agenda: "Authorizing and directing the internal auditor of the Consolidated Government to conduct a special audit of the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office in order to assure that the financial interests of the CCG are protected. (Councilor Glenn Davis)"  -- Excuse me, but why wasn't such an audit performed before Mayor TomLYINGson started her attack on Sheriff Darr's budget? Doing so probably would have vindicated Darr, and saved Columbus taxpayers 100s of thousands of dollars that have been spent on legal buddies of the mayor. An, of course.. the eklection being less than 6 weeks away would have nothing to do with the timing.. Shame on Glenn Davis for being TomLYINGson's "dupe".

---
From the "desperation archives of liberalism" department - Online headline: "Clinton expected to win first debate as her lead narrows" -- Have you seen the predicted numbers network wonks are making for the expected viewers? 100,000,000 plus... we're talking numbers that swamp the Superbowl!  Let me tell you, it won't be Hellary supporters bringing these kinds of figures to the event.

---
From the "events KaeperPrick wasn't invited" department: The National Museum of African-American Museum of History and Culture had it's opening ceremony on Saturday. This is why he rightfully wasn't invited:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why do we LET our mayor/council try to be business operators...I'm talking about the Aquatic Center. Why is it open on week day mornings when people are working and kids are are in school, but closed on Sunday afternoons when whole families could enjoy it.

---
FRom the "Hellary feels she can "bait" Trump into panic" department - Online story: "Responding to news Clinton-allied billionaire Mark Cuban would be attending the debate at the invite of her campaign, Trump posted "If dopey Mark Cuban of failed Benefactor fame wants to sit in the front row, perhaps I will put Gennifer Flowers right alongside of him!" to Twitter." -- Hellary and company "took the bait" and pretty much choked on it.. and later Trump's crew added.. "just kidding". Does Trump know how to "one-up" and disarm a situation!

---
Online headline/story: "Clinton is winning upper income voters *  A new poll from Bloomberg Politics shows Hillary Clinton besting Trump among voters with annual household incomes of $100,000 or more by a margin of 46 to 42 percent." -- Other than it's a "BLOOMBERG Poll", what does it say to middle and low income voters about who has their backs?

---
I noticed that Greater Shady Grove MBC Church has moved from it's historic site on 2nd Avenue to the old Evangel Temple site on 12th Ave. What's going to happen with the old site.. are there not restrictions on a site determined to be historic?

---
Online headline: "Bill and Hillary Clinton buy house next door, create Chappaqua compound" --- Heh heh heh.. guess Hellary is buying the dog house next door to send Bill to as her White House days fade away..

---
One of the activists to "Thaw the Freeze" built a huge new home on his wife's historic property which was assessed at $1.8 MILLION..He fought it in court and the assessed value was dropped $600K to $1.2 MILLION saving thousands of dollars per year in property taxes...and now he wants everybody else to lose their protection, as most people don't have the resources to hire a team of lawyers.

Online headline/story: "Mexico hit by surge of 5K Haitian, African and Asian migrants on their way to the U.S. *  Mexico's National Immigration Institute said the migrants entered the country between Sept. 21 and 23. It did not break them down according to country of origin, but recent trends suggest the majority are likely from Haiti. *  The institute said that none of these Haitian, African or Asian migrants have requested permission to stay in Mexico. "Up to this moment, the institute has not received any requests from these foreigners for refuge, asylum or regularization, because they have expressed that their desire is to reach the United States."

The migrants cannot be sent back to their home countries, so Mexico gives them 20-day temporary visas so they can cross the country and get to the U.S. It said the Africans came mainly from the Congo, Ghana, Guinea, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia, Sudan and Nigeria." -- Guess the Mexican government is practicing its "matador" moves as it waves them through with a red cape! Seriously, who can not want a proper wall built on our Southern border when Mexico makes no effort to accommodate refugee needs?  To boot, the trek from Guatemala to San Diego is over 2,500 miles and Mexico "generously" gives them a 20-day temporary visa.. We ain't, Trump ain't .. the bad guy in this picture.

---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “The world cares very little about what a man or woman knows; it is what the man or woman is able to do.” — Booker T. Washington, American educator and author (1856-1915). -- Hmmm.. Trump 1, Hellary 0..

I do believe that Rory McIlroy had  "a moment" yesterday.. faced with needing at least a birdie, possibly an eagle to tie/win the FedEx Cup Championship, despite being in a bad lie and other less than favorable conditions to go for the green on his second shot over water to the par-5 18th, McIlroy pulled out a utility wood and gave it a go like Phil Mickelson.. Rory just became a crowd favorite for the first time in his career.

Oh.. did I see that the Patriots, sans Brady at the helm, won its 3rd straight game .. so much for the excuses that the Patriots cheated by deflating the pressure in their footballs.
